Other than how the game went, what concerned me today was that Wijnaldum kept reminding me of christian poulsen. He ran around a bit, pretended that he wanted to get involved, but when he got the ball he invariably gave a very basic square or backwards pass. But what concerned me more was that Klopp never took him off. Its early days yet but i don't see what he brings/ his main attribute is (granted i only saw a hand full of his games last season) .

Too early for him or Klavan, but I'd say his main attribute is he scores goals. Ok, not in his first 2 games, but in time.

Basically he's like Lallana but he scores goals IMO.

With Emre Can fit, move Henderson into Wijnaldum's position and drop him to the bench. He rarely shows up for away games and until he proves he can, he should start from the bench.

3.) 20 Aug 2016 22:17:33
Klopp spent a lot of money to bring him in. He's not going to not play him.

4.) 20 Aug 2016 22:49:01
Wijnaldum needs to be playing higher up the pitch, as does hendo imo.

5.) 20 Aug 2016 23:28:56
Wijnaldum was a signing we didn't need to make. He's never a central midfielder in a million years. Keep on like this and you can guarantee mid table obscurity by November. We have 10 days to make signings that will improve our full back situation and shore up that gaping chasm in midfield, don't deal with that and the season is over. End of story.

6.) 21 Aug 2016 01:01:30
We made 2 bad errors and they made us pay it happens . You have to learn and move and go and put it right that means go and win at Spurs.

7.) 21 Aug 2016 01:13:05
We finished 2nd with Glen Johnson/ Jose Enrique as one of our full backs, correct? Would be disappointing to not get in a quality LB, but end of season is a bit much.

8.) 21 Aug 2016 05:52:36
Couldn't agree more faith. I think it hurts us trying to squeeze both Firmino and coutinho on the pitch. Especially without any width vs a team like today. Granted doesn't matter who we get out wide if they can't cross the ball.

Haha, just read a post where someone thinks Mane is an uneccessary addition who brings nothing, and to top that off we have Ojo anyway, so he's 'doubly' not needed. Take away the cost and apparent attitude problems, Mane is a very good player who IMO would certainly improve our starting 11. Ojo looks like he could become a good player but to suggest Mane would bring nothing and Ojo would is pushing it even for us LFC fans.

And if money is once again made available for us to try and buy the league (another Ed002 Gem), I for one would be happy with the signing of Mane.

The only concern I would have with is signing is the attitude issue that people have talked about. If he could improve that then he's exactly what we need.
His talent is obvious, he is inconsistent but he's still young, everyone on here is convinced Coutinho can become more consistent then surely he can improve his consistency. Imo he's the best rw in the league, however there's not many good rw's in the league atm. I'd be very optimistic about his signing.

Sterling is a very promising young player. The problem with young players is that they are prone to being very inconsistent. I think we can agree Raheem hasn't had the best of seasons, but the problem is that we have relied on him too much. Other than Coutinho (who is young and inconsistent himself) nobody else has been able to pick up the mantle when Sterling is having a dip in form. If Sterling played for Chelsea, or City his inconsitency wouldn't be so obvious because he would have team mates able to help him out when needed. So the fact that he wants to leave doesn't suddenly make him a bad player, that being said, I'm not too worried about Sterling leaving. I think we already have players in the squad capable of more than covering Sterlings departure. My worry is what Rodgers is going do with the money. For me, Coutinho is the one we really need to build a side around not Sterling. I think we desperately need a top class striker and keeper, but Rodgers will probably go chasing another young AMC, a position which we are already well stacked in. I know the Eds see a defensive midfielder as a must, but I would like to see Can given that chance, I know he's more of a box to box player, but alongside Henderson that's a lot of running, energy.

BR should be sacked if you`re going to keep the vvery few good players we have because players don`t hang around dithering clubs.

22 Mar 2015 17:51:19
I thought BR got completely shown up tactically today. If he's this tactical genius we keep hearing about why didn't he change things after 15mins because we were being battered. For me I would have brought on Lovren for Moreno, brought Lallana out wide, Lovren up against Fellaini and pushed Emre into midfield to give us a bit more presence as we were being completely overrun and out fought. We made look a good side today.

Tommy Walsh

1.) 22 Mar 2015 18:28:25
Lovren wasn't even on the bench. Only Kolo and Johnson defensively

2.) 22 Mar 2015 18:55:08
Can was struggling all game and like ED said, he could not figure out what to do with the hoofball they were playing. BR needs to learn from this quickly and make us difficult to play against again and fast or top four will defo be gone in the coming games.

3.) 22 Mar 2015 19:31:48
Hoofball? I guess you see what bÅ· want to see. Not sure how you get 60% possession with hoof ball or score 2 great goals. United fans hate the 'long ball up to the big man' but that is not what we saw today. You might have, but perhaps that is because you wanted to.

4.) 22 Mar 2015 19:39:05
Lovren is injured, he is out of Croatia squad.

Markovic is finally starting to look like a useful addition. Hopefully he can carry on improving and become a first team regular. He shows some nice touches and plays some lovely passes but what I would like him to work on now is staying in the game a 'wee' bit more, he tends to drift out of the game too easily. Does anyone else think that with Coutinho being such a good dribbler, and Markovic seemingly preferring to pass the ball that maybe Markovic would be more suited centrally with Coutinho wider

I suppose its a good thing that no-one really cares what you think Waro. These are the stupid posts that I find most annoying. The 'I am a better fan than though' posts. If you disagree with whatever is said hit the disagree button. Any post is just one persons opinion, it matters no more or no less than the next persons opinion. Get over it.

Disagree about Teixera, thought he looked like a player. He is the style of player that will improve vastly with better players around him.

I'm not sure what I've missed, but there is nothing obvious that I've seen that warrants Rossiter a place over Allen at all. Along with most, I think Rossiter could go onto make a good player, but I just think we are a bit unrealistic as to how good our youngsters are.

The way I look at it is, if JR wasn't one of our academy players and it was said that we were looking to buy him and start giving him 1st team football there would be uproar about the standard of player that we are now chasing.

If anyone should be getting opportunities IMO it should be Teixeira, but he's not better than our current 1st team players, so in the position we find ourselves in, other than Capital one games and selected Europa league games, I don't see where they will play to get the game time they need.

Swansea Uni. When you've done it, pop along to Cwrt Herbert we're always desperate for referees.
