SKY Sources in Italy: The €75m deal of Alisson Becker to #LFC is near completion. [DiMarzio].

1.) 18 Jul 2018 11:36:38
If we get him this would be some defence lad's.

2.) 18 Jul 2018 12:00:59
Barry, I agree 50%. We have making of a good defence with TAA, VVD and Robbo. Lovren is great on his day but partial to a mindfart. Matip isn't good enough, like wise clyne and Moreno.

Baz.

3.) 18 Jul 2018 12:29:41
Just like Fekir, deals can take a u turn at any point
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. just yet.

4.) 18 Jul 2018 12:29:57
Let's just wait and see boys. Hopefully the addition of a top class goalie will make everyone more comfortable and sure things up defensively. I think the addition of Fabiano will be a big help in front of that back four too.

5.) 18 Jul 2018 12:30:19
It's not looking too good for Bogdan future at LFC at the moment lol
But it's great show of ambition by the club. I think we are going to get Fekir as well and we all done
Can't really wait for the new season
#ynwa.

6.) 18 Jul 2018 13:05:59
Fabinho!

7.) 18 Jul 2018 13:38:21
Baz, surely by that logic, you agree 80%? 4/ 5?

Medred, I think he already knows, in his digs in Hibs!

8.) 18 Jul 2018 14:11:46
Jeez, Alisson AND Fekir and we have the best first eleven in the PL.

9.) 18 Jul 2018 15:00:59
Yes Fabinho. Ducking auto correct!

17 Jul 2018 16:29:49
Well, Well, Well.

Sky Sports: Liverpool have DENIED making a 70m euro bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker after reports in Italy suggested the two clubs were in talks.
Sources close to Liverpool have told Sky Sports News that there has been NO bid and NO approach for Alisson.

1.) 17 Jul 2018 16:57:47
Really?!
Some people have absolutely "ZERO" patience

Just cause a "rumour" is floating around, doesn't mean it will immediately happen

It's a rumour, it may or may not.
Get out and enjoy the sun!

2.) 17 Jul 2018 17:06:51
No they haven’t.

3.) 17 Jul 2018 17:11:27
Kopend its raining where i am.

4.) 17 Jul 2018 17:30:44
The key thing with all of these "reports" is the terminology.

"sources close to Liverpool" told Sky Sports they have not bid for Alisson.

Sky Italia reported:

"Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia is reporting that Alisson is “close” to a move to Merseyside.

Il Messaggero reported this morning that the Liverpool offer would be €60m plus €10m in bonuses, with Sky's Fabrizio Romano confirming a total €70m offer. "

Nothing is direct from Liverpool here.

So let's just wait and see.

5.) 17 Jul 2018 17:32:47
Get the slip and slide out?

6.) 17 Jul 2018 17:40:24
You heard it here first straight from the horses mouth neeiiiggghhh.

7.) 17 Jul 2018 18:08:29
I don't see any comment from the Edds so it a no!

8.) 17 Jul 2018 18:20:31
there are plenty of journos close to lfc that haven't rubbished it but posted it themselves. bbc are pretty reliable and don't publish unfounded rumours. i imagine with courtois close to RM. lfc have finally made a move with roma realising LFC won't pay 75m. RM not interested. Alison prob not interested in europa.

9.) 17 Jul 2018 18:22:15
Be sad to see Klopp lying to the players again with Ward and Karius been told to fight for 1st. Regardless of the quality of karius and what not.
I'd like to see Ward a bit more!

10.) 17 Jul 2018 18:32:48
This story will drag on a while methinks. Personally, I don’t think we’ve bid. If we were to move for a number one, he would be the best choice but that’s purely basing it on what most people say here. That he is spectacular. I only saw him in Cl and World Cup but that’s hardly enough to make an educated decision.

11.) 17 Jul 2018 18:44:20
Where's the interview where Klopp tells us Ward is going to be number 1 choice 🤔.

12.) 17 Jul 2018 21:41:26
Reusch, the Ed’s have previously mentioned that he has told ward and Karius they are both fighting for the no1 spot.

1.) 17 Jul 2018 16:40:10
Ive read that too, don't remember all the shouting though.

2.) 17 Jul 2018 16:40:36
Keeping the betting market open for punters to take a shot on chelsea.

3.) 17 Jul 2018 16:49:24
Carragold you nailed it mate.

4.) 17 Jul 2018 16:58:50
They also claimed we ended interest in Keita last season and would not sign him at all look how that changed.

17 Jul 2018 14:56:43
Sky Italy: Liverpool in talks to sign Roma and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson [Kaveh Solhekol]

Liverpool have overtaken Chelsea on the race for his signature - AS Roma waiting for a last effort from Liverpool to match the €75M price tag, current offer at €70M.

Let's hope we get this done!
Fingers Crossed!

1.) 17 Jul 2018 15:15:52
James Pearce, Chris Bascombe and Neil Jones all confirmed that we made a bid of 62m GBP.

I've been watching Allison play in CL and WC, don't see him much of an upgrade to Karius but he certainly has the confidence and distribution that Karius doesn't have.

When we spent 75m GBP on VVD, boy did he transform our defense with his Rolls-Royce display. Allison seems to have the Rolls-Royce swag about him.

2.) 17 Jul 2018 15:38:46
Holy crxp Batman.

3.) 17 Jul 2018 15:42:14
Bbc confirm the 62m bid.

4.) 17 Jul 2018 15:52:29
If we sign him I think I'm legit going to go into cardiac arrest! Fingers crossed!

5.) 17 Jul 2018 15:52:32
Alisson is class, top top class. I really hope we sign him but hold your horses everybody, nothing is done until it's done. I love the news but let's not forget the Fekir situation a few weeks ago, it was done and then it wasn't etc etc. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this one and see what happens.

6.) 17 Jul 2018 16:09:05
Shocked to see offer for Alisson, I wondered if that's the money gone for Fekir!

7.) 17 Jul 2018 16:42:40
Red_Ed_88 I think we're more in need of a quality goalie than another midfielder so you could be right. Although I do have my doubts about Alisson, especially for that price.

11 Jul 2018 22:47:09
David Maddock; "Fekir met Lyon president at World Cup - pleaded for chance to still join LFC. Aulas agreed to revive talks. @LFC no interest in deal on previously agreed £53m terms, may be persuaded by restructured terms. @OL lining up Ziyech as potential replacement"

Fingers crossed on this one!

1.) 11 Jul 2018 22:53:44
Steer clear of players who have suffered acls.

2.) 11 Jul 2018 23:00:10
I've read this myself fingers crossed 👍👍.

3.) 11 Jul 2018 23:34:42
He will be a Liverpool player by the end of the window.

4.) 11 Jul 2018 23:44:16
Who is this David Maddock geezer, is he just another ITK who’s not ITK?

5.) 11 Jul 2018 23:52:13
Imagine wanting Shaqiri but not Fekir 🤦‍♂️.

6.) 11 Jul 2018 23:53:55
There have been players who have recovered and played well after an ACL, And he is one of them. I understand the payment structure wanting changed for risk purposes because that's the club trying to hedge their bets but if klopp believes in the player we should take him, if he was unfortunate enough to get another ACL injury he's young enough still to get over it imo. How has his fitness been since he came back from it?

7.) 12 Jul 2018 06:59:03
Lol Yankee Red, I know mate, you couldn't make it up!

8.) 12 Jul 2018 10:19:33
Van nistelroy (spelling) had an ACL the year he was meant to join united. he seemed to recover well enough. the technology they have now as long as the healing process, physio and then strengthening of the muscle around the knee is all A1 then the knee will be good as new.

9.) 12 Jul 2018 10:21:08
Only about 10% of players who have ACL surgery have a reoccurrence, the majority come back just as strong as they were before and have no higher risk.

Just look at Shearer, Xavi, Pires, etc.

10.) 12 Jul 2018 12:11:14
its not the reoccurrence that is the problem. its that they are never the same player again. lose their pace. that list is endless.

11.) 12 Jul 2018 13:45:42
but fekir had his best year yet after his ACL?

Loving this new and improved United.

Ed014, you around mate?

{Ed014's Note - always mate, honestly I appreciate they’re now in the lead but there’s nothing about that side.

Don’t see any different football from when Ole was there. ?‍♂️

1.) 26 Aug 2023 17:04:45
My ****. but Utd get given some dodgy penalties.

I give up.

2.) 26 Aug 2023 17:07:09
It’s exactly the same as when Ole was there. Terrible performances and the occasional three points gifted to them by a referee.

3.) 26 Aug 2023 17:38:29
As much as I dislike them, but that was always a penalty. Similar to the Szobo one last time. Was there contact? Yes. Did the player exaggerate? Sure.
My contention was the red card. I thought the keeper and the other defender running in had it sort of covered. But again, whatever the referee gives that it's not going to get changed by VAR either way in that case.

4.) 26 Aug 2023 18:16:55
Personally I thought it was a pen as well ?‍♂️

United are a bad bad team tho and I could see ten hag in trouble come Christmas.

5.) 26 Aug 2023 18:23:17
Koparmy totally agree. Both soft but now it's a no contact sport in the box at least. Too quick to flash the red should have been yellow. Thought going into the season United won't make top 4/ 5 (depending on CL spots awarded next season) . Hoping they finish 3rd in CL group and get us in the EL. We'll hammer them again this season. Can't wait.

6.) 26 Aug 2023 19:26:39
I don't know why people are writing United off. They will be top 4/ 5 guaranteed this season. If not through their own merits, on var and referee decisions.

7.) 26 Aug 2023 19:49:51
Wouldnt say that bulk, lota good teams this year.

8.) 26 Aug 2023 20:56:06
But Howard Webb is in charge of referee's. so they will likely get 10+ penalties for and none against this season .

9.) 26 Aug 2023 21:21:20
Yeah Bulk 6th or 7th for me.

10.) 26 Aug 2023 21:06:22
Ed014, are you saying that after 4010m spent by Ten Hag, nothinbg has changed? Colour me surprised.

{Ed014's Note - zero mate, he’s a total fake, if they weren’t saved by De Gea, they were saved by Gashford and this season it’s luck.

11.) 27 Aug 2023 01:25:13
Citeh, Arsenal, us, Newcastle, Spurs, Chelsea, possibly even Brighton and Villa are just as capable if not better than United. United aren’t even a shoo-in for the top 6.

{Ed077's Note - but United are "just as capable if not better" than some of those teams you listed. 3 games in is far too early to be writing teams off.

12.) 27 Aug 2023 05:21:55
Let’s see shall we. In my opinion, if all teams mentioned play to the best of their capability, City, Arsenal, us, Spurs and Chelsea are definitely the better team 8 or 9 times out of 10. The others would definitely reach party with United.

13.) 27 Aug 2023 09:41:06
Indeed, Ed14. And I meant 410m, not 4010m spent. Darn autocorrect, strikes again, lol.

After all this time, I do not and cannot say who Utd are under this manager. They still play of individual brilliance and vibes, same with Ole at the time and Im not even saying they should be world beaters.

I just cannot see what they are good at or are trying to be. Now I do know what they are bad at and that's a lot of things.

As for the pen, there was even less contact here than there was for Szobo vs Bmouth so for me, I think it just depends on the ref you have on the day and it doesn't seem VAR will be overturning peanlties given on the pitch this season, at this rate.

{Ed014's Note - totally agree mate, there is literally nothing about them that makes me think they’ll be challenging for anything.

Spurs, Chelsea and yourselves all improving whilst they’re churning out the same crap.

1.) 14 Aug 2023 17:16:07
Looks like some Chelsea fans are as obsessed with Liverpool football club as some of our fans are with them ?.

2.) 14 Aug 2023 17:17:58
U notice all of them are "chelsea" fans?

3.) 14 Aug 2023 17:20:44
? it’s very bad. We’ve become the laughing stock of the league.

Disaster of a transfer window.

4.) 14 Aug 2023 17:45:22
@Livebird, it's posted by CFC Dubois so I presume it's Chelsea Football Club Dubois is what that username/ account is about.

5.) 14 Aug 2023 17:40:33
Media has a field day hence Farbrizio Romano has stopped reporting about us.

{Ed001's Note - Romano stopped because he was caught constantly miles behind everyone else. He is mr after the fact and was shown up.}

6.) 14 Aug 2023 17:53:06
And he says here we go when the player has already gone days ago?.

7.) 14 Aug 2023 18:02:50
Laughing stock of the league! overreaction much?

8.) 14 Aug 2023 19:08:07
Rent Free, for sure. The lack of self awareness is stunning. Say, Has some told the Chelsea fans that the last three Cup finals they have played us in were ALL losses?

9.) 14 Aug 2023 19:53:34
Have Chelsea bid for an open top bus to celebrate their transfer window yet?
Or have they still got last summer's?

30 Jun 2023 14:09:44
Newcastle United opted out of the Dominik Szoboszlai chase, when they realized that HE'S ONLY HUNGARY FOR LIVERPOOL.

1.) 30 Jun 2023 15:02:45
And what's the chance we actually sign him? Regardless of what Newcastle do it appears there's not much funds available.
A few have been saying less than £12m left in the account for transfers.

{Ed001's Note - there is no 'account' so that is bollox.}

2.) 30 Jun 2023 15:41:29
That's the best one so far!

So we have a mythical bank account with £12m in and that's it?!

Love it, and love how daft folks really are!

Don't let stupidity get in the way of a decent theory, my friend.

3.) 30 Jun 2023 15:44:20
Never let the facts get in the way of a good moan!

4.) 30 Jun 2023 15:45:43
The deals done as far as I'm aware ed 01 where do you see him playing for us?

5.) 30 Jun 2023 15:46:15
Oops should have scrolled down before I asked that.

{Ed001's Note - haha no worries.}

6.) 30 Jun 2023 15:47:37
Zed seriously, I have no idea where some people get some of this stuff from? Absolute porkies.

7.) 30 Jun 2023 15:54:25
Jesus. embarrassing embarrassing.

8.) 30 Jun 2023 16:09:59
I think the media might have accessed my bank account by mistake.

I can 100% confirm there is less than 12 mill in there.

9.) 30 Jun 2023 16:50:39
12 pound in mine JK23! lol.

10.) 30 Jun 2023 18:11:12
Angus you fancy lending me a fiver.

11.) 30 Jun 2023 18:46:09
He can’t he owes me ten.

12.) 30 Jun 2023 19:33:44
Well I am glad that isn't the case. A few friends were talking figures and informed me that to be the case after the Mac transfer.
Hopefully the signing goes through. Could be the difference between finishing 5th or third.

13.) 30 Jun 2023 20:20:09
Just been told that the above is actually true, but last minute RBS said we could have a 70 million pound overdraft.

14.) 30 Jun 2023 21:40:42
@Oh2b, just put the shovel down and walk quietly away from this one mate ?.

22 Jun 2019 03:54:47
“Liverpool? They've won so much from the Champions League, from the money from the federation and their sponsors that they can buy two Koulibalys. It would be a disaster for the others, having to find a way to go through that defence” - Everton’s Italian scout Carlo Jacomuzzi.

1.) 22 Jun 2019 08:58:08
They both prefer the left side though. It's be a huge risk to spend over £100m on a player just hoping he'd adapt seemlessly to a new position. Left and right centre back is very different positionally and playing an unfamiliar side requires a player to ignore all their natural instincts positionally. Very few players can play both sides well. Carragher's ability to do so was never fully appreciated.

2.) 22 Jun 2019 10:42:46
I personally would think it idiotic to spend 100mil on CB when we clearly have much bigger priorities.

Gomez’s potential is huge. If we’re intending a big splash it needs to be on a Fernandes/ Fekir type signing.

3.) 22 Jun 2019 11:16:22
Where does that figure come from? Is that just plucked out of the air? As 002 says, stay clear of finances because if Liverpool spend big money, rest assured it’s not done without due consideration.

4.) 22 Jun 2019 11:21:23
And if that's the level of football knowledge in Everton's scouting department, then we've nothing to worry about!

5.) 22 Jun 2019 11:34:43
The world is panicking for how good this young Liverpool team could get. Although I wouldn't buy "the wall from Senegal", I would however spend big on an elite Player whilst we are at the top. We're not always in this position to do so.

{Ed002's Note - The "world" is not panicking.}

6.) 22 Jun 2019 13:11:28
Rather we keep our current CB options intact and instead focus on cover and competition four full backs. The team lacks spark when either TAA or Robbo are not on the pitch.

15 Jun 2019 20:45:53
Luis Suarez: "The day after (losing to Liverpool) were the worst moments of my life and career, along with the 2014 World Cup. I wanted to disappear from the world.
I never imagined that (Liverpool would come back to win), because I thought 'we're Barcelona'. I thought we'd have a chance to score. "

Still Hurting, Luis!

1.) 15 Jun 2019 21:02:58
I firmly believe that in their mind's all Barcelona had to do was turn up like how naive could you be.

2.) 15 Jun 2019 21:29:25
It was just too loud for them. Luis still wakes up screaming in the night from the fear of Anfield.

3.) 15 Jun 2019 22:18:15
He spent 3.5 years at Anfield. Should have seen it coming. Arrogant piece of penguin

4.) 16 Jun 2019 01:49:43
there were probably tens of, if not hundreds of thousands of liverpool fans who would have thought the same as suarez.

5.) 16 Jun 2019 04:02:46
After reading what Arteta said about playing at anfield it's no surprise. They didn't know what hit them.

Okay, so as per David_Ornstein:

"The situation for Gravenberch with LFC has developed significantly on Wednesday. Both clubs are discussing their respective valuations — If Liverpool believe the finances are achievable, they are expected to submit a formal offer shortly.

Also, Ryan Gravenberch is believed to favour a move to Liverpool over other suitors which includes Manchester United. "
