Macca gelson martins?

Supermane96

1.) 08 Jun 2017 18:09:38
Roma apparently want £35m for Salah. Gelson isn't worth what Sporting want for him (£40m+? ) .

2.) 09 Jun 2017 00:17:42
Why can't we just pay up for Salah? Klopp clearly thinks highly of him, he would add pace and unpredictability to our attack and knows where the back of the net is. If Roma want more cash up front, then give it to them. We have embarrassed ourselves enough the last few days and the last thing we need is clubs refusing to do business with us in the future.
Can't the club just put other positions like RB and CM on hold for now to get the deals we are currently stuck in over the line? If Klopp is desperate for VVD, Salah and Mendy, just pay up and review matters later in January if more depth is needed.

3.) 09 Jun 2017 09:35:37
There are so many stories flying around its hard to separate fact from BS. Apparently Roma want £35 and of that £25m up front, we have apparently offered £28m and £17m up front, textbook lowballing from us. Which given that they are the selling club then fair enough. I think we were hoping that the player would engineer a move. Which is blindingly stupid and pretty shoddy on our part.

02 Jun 2017 09:39:37
Erm worst thing i have read today.

Crippling tbh. Went light headed an all that.

Mendy wanted us! The most sought after lb probably in europe wanted us and we have lost him now.

Same with vvd and probably with salah.

Tbe ox tho, why. he's always injured. Has sporadic good games where he performs bu5 there so few and far between. Unless its a 7 mil deal then im noy happy with that one.

Supermane96

{Ed025's Note - well...as long as your happy.. :)

1.) 02 Jun 2017 09:53:52
"Has sporadic games where he performs"

So just like Gini when he was at Newcastle?

So many people knocked that transfer when he came in but Klopp saw something and he has become a very important part of the first team.

Yes the Ox's injury record is an issue but he's still young. He bulked out way too fast in my opinion and caused stress on his body by doing so. It looked like he was being compared to Walcott too much and as such he decided to bulk up to differentiate himself.

Put on the right training regime for him and I think lots of his fitness issues will go.

Arsenal always seem to have these sort of issues with a number of their players, I wouldn't be too concerned.

2.) 02 Jun 2017 10:12:34
This does not take the spotlight away from the point being made. We are an old elite club with midetable wage structure and can't hope to compete with the moneyballers yet. Much as we would like to believe otherwise, the owners are in this for the money and would always have that at the back of their minds. One thing we can be happy about is that we have a wonderful coach who actually improves a team. So be rest assured that whoever he brings in (no matter their cost), would improve the team.

{Ed025's Note - yeah kick those yanks into touch and get the venkys in or even thaksin shinawatra, maybe peter risdale would fancy it?...have a day off mate..

3.) 02 Jun 2017 11:21:53
Losing out on mendy is disgraceful.

Again th3 ox an wij aren't comparable.

Wij won the dutch league title hitting double figures then moved to newcastle where he had agai hit double figures.

Ox has had 4/ 5 years in the prem and barely played through injury. Never been that good. Abd as i said had sporadic good games.

4.) 02 Jun 2017 11:43:26
Mid table wage structure? hopefully Eds can correct me if I'm wrong but we are the third highest wage payers in the league, and eds have repeatedly stated we need to sell first, I'm not happy with the changes in mind, contract wise but 180k for VVD wow, players are going where the money is and not for reasonable amounts but extortionate in my opinion, what happened to players that wanted to pull on the shirt and create their own history I'd wait for those players over high priced no heart, transfer to another team when the trophies aren't coming in types football is changing power wise an not for the better can't wait for a wage cap.

5.) 02 Jun 2017 11:46:54
"Midtable Wage Structure" Are you serious? Our wage bill is around £200 million. That is in the top 10 of world football. Juventus have a wage bill of £181 million, Atletico Madrid £86 million and Spurs £120 million. You should really start doing your research before you start spouting rubbish. The fact is we have been mugged off in the past with high wages, agent fee's etc. The club needs to get this under control.

Like has been said previously by others, I don't want a high wage culture at the club where every player is looking over their shoulder at how much their team mates are getting paid. Pay competitively but not stupidly.

6.) 02 Jun 2017 12:00:35
Couldn't agree more Wirralred, I know everyones a fan but it helps to actually look into our clubs well being in all areas before demanding we give players what they want, your an owner whos already shells out 200m for current players that just about scrapped into the UCL is the idea to pay more or to get more for your money, I know what I'd do, I personally think the money teams like city and united pay for transfers and wages is ridiculous a 40-45m GK jog on son.

7.) 02 Jun 2017 12:24:34
Ive said it on numerous occasions, that FSG are all about the money. I remember asking the eds if Klopp would get the full backing, to which u replied yes. There is no point agreeing to pay a transfer fee when you won't pay the wages, and to keep leaking it to the Liverpool Echo that we are going to spend X amount. Give it a rest FSG and stop trying to make a fool out of us fans.

8.) 02 Jun 2017 12:24:39
Anyone know what Mendey was asking for? I mean if it was £100,000 a week I'd say we probably should be paying that, if it was £200,000 perhaps we've done the right thing.

9.) 02 Jun 2017 15:11:01
People realize that FSG brought Klopp in aye? He didn't just fall out of yhe sky or force JWH and co to make him manager or else. and yea, in't funny how the guys who invest the money are about the money? I wonder why. take eds advice and forget money.

10.) 02 Jun 2017 17:57:43
I think so many people miss the point when it comes to this topic. Regardless of whether FSG are in it for the money or not, the only way for them to get to the money is by building a strong profitable and sustainable business that demonstrates continuous growth. In other words a club that can finance itself whilst continually improving on and off the pitch. Isn't this what we all want? If we want to dominate at the top end for years to come we need to have a solid foundation. Be patient we are moving in the right direction.

11.) 02 Jun 2017 21:54:39
Exactly Slimz. Making money and being a competitive / successful title-challenging club are not mutually exclusive.

12.) 03 Jun 2017 23:55:54
Bottom line is nobody knows anything about the negotiations and people like the OP and Xpertoyin, need to stop spouting rubbish about the owners not paying the crazy wages players want. No one knows how much mendy was offered and how much more City put in for him and if he wants to go there then so be it.

We have been mugged in the past and we are trying to put a lid on things bu the FIFA Manager generation just can't figure that out as all they know is buying players for whatever wages on a video game. We need to be competitive in our wage offers and we must learn to live within our means. "A midtable wage structure". Utter nonsense and shows that you know nothing about LFC's wage bill as more successful clubs than ours don't even pay what we pay. Like Ed said, have a day off, X. You need it.

Not every9ne, but there was a few of you who claimed the u20 world cup tournament was pointless. As klopp didn't allow someone to go.

Well go and tell these boys that. World champions congrats lads. They have nowbtasted tournament success, what it takes, how to manage yourselves in a tournament. First final for 51 years. Will set us up well over the next ten yesrs.

Supermane96

1.) 11 Jun 2017 13:01:36
Congrats to the young boys, they really deserved that, shout out to onamah, don't know who he plays for but he is going to be a beast.

2.) 11 Jun 2017 13:06:56
Onomah is a spurs player, hard midfield to break into.

3.) 11 Jun 2017 13:08:57
Who didn't he allow to go? Ojo, ejaria and solanke are all there.

4.) 11 Jun 2017 13:09:15
Tottenham.

You have to all promise to do something. Leave these lads alone to develop. No demanding they play. No destroying them for one bad game. Leave them alone. let's see who comes through.

5.) 11 Jun 2017 13:17:44
Well done England Under 20's. World Cup Winners

Dominic Solanke won Player Of The Tournament Award
Well done lad . Looking forward to seeing you in a Liverpool shirt 👍🏼.

6.) 11 Jun 2017 14:16:48
TAA buddy. To keep him on the bench for us.

Apparently it was a crap tournament where the likes of pongolle looked amazing, so didn't really matter.

7.) 11 Jun 2017 15:56:07
May 2017 21:36:40
Haha, the U20 World Cup. I remember when Pongolle was top scorer and Le Tallec was named player of the tournament. I'm sure that experience was invaluable to them.

Jailbot

Not my words.

8.) 11 Jun 2017 16:31:24
It certainly meant a lot to the players. You only had to see the Venezuelan players in tears, and the jubilation of the England players to realise that!

9.) 11 Jun 2017 16:41:59
Apart from that's all crap and untrue supermane, neither of them achieved that at an U20 World Cup. conversely there are some big names in the tournaments history. messi, pogba, saviola, figo etc.

10.) 11 Jun 2017 18:10:46
I know triangle. Why are you trying to educate me :$.

I was congradulating the lads on thier victory and just saying i understand to certain posters that they though ot was a meanigless tournament as they were sayung so when klopp refused to allow trent to go.

That post i posted about pongolle was one of the posters at the time.

Read fella.

08 Jun 2017 12:23:14
Ed if southampon set a price and we went and matched it and they accepted it. Would thay be water under the bridg?

Or is there no way the deal can go through?

Im not bothered but eith nothing from macca i can't help but think there might still be somethunt happening.

Supermane96

{Ed001's Note - yes it is possible to make it right and sort things out.}

1.) 08 Jun 2017 12:47:52
imo we need to overpay them we have ****ed over vvd so bad other clubs pulled out his head must be battered plus its the right thing to do for are rep southampton and vvd.

2.) 08 Jun 2017 12:57:54
Sky reporting that City only interested if Southampton hugely decrease there asking price.

Think your right I don't think we have heard the end of this, player wants to go and we have the pressure of making it 'right' and where willing to pay a considerable amount apparently.

3.) 08 Jun 2017 17:33:01
Ed is a figure Southampton want (reported to be 70m now) really anything we can afford? I thought at the initial 50m fee. this was a crazy ask. Now it's even more ridiculous. I know the markets inflated but we have to keep some kind of control on the finances and future of the club? Surley?
For me 50m is madness; but we should pay up now concidering. But I feel it's way more than that as it stands. Scary to think what we could get elsewhere with it. that's willian or Sanchez for God sake lol Any input would be great (I know you don't like talking finances, understand if no reply) thanks.

{Ed001's Note - depends on how it is structured, who we sell and when it needs paying by.}

08 Jun 2017 09:23:14
50.illion fot costa.

2 premier leagye titles.

20 goals a season

Runs his arse off for the team

Be abit of torres payback.

Supermane96

{Ed025's Note - big bag of trouble for me supermane, horrible person cheat and trouble maker..

1.) 08 Jun 2017 09:42:50
I liked him at Atletico, then I grew to hate him, before eventually growing to have him as my guilty pleasure haha.

I love watching him play against everyone except us. Would be a massive statement but for me, he is better to watch when he is causing trouble for someone else. I think I'd cringe at him in an Liverpool shirt squaring up to referees.

2.) 08 Jun 2017 11:04:23
Plus, I think he wants out of England.

3.) 08 Jun 2017 12:04:22
You only hate players like thay against you but love then for you.

Didnt wr all support a cannibal. Yes he did what he did but yo7 all loved him, admit it haha.

Costa up top would give that bite and attitude to us.

4.) 08 Jun 2017 12:45:20
Suarez had a temper, Costa is deliberately belligerent, that's a whole other level.

07 Jun 2017 11:23:27
Big mac

Gelson martins. Anything for us bub?

Supermane96

06 Jun 2017 16:31:38
Anyo e though maybe sky are trying to drum up some betting.

To join city now is 6/ 1 and stay at southampton is 6/ 1.

If maccas said its done then its done. Simple.

thats what ojo is for. Why buy bollocks like tadic to just take away the few apperances ojo will kuster next year.

This is what brendan did so don't defend this move.

Unless its in place of salah, well then where all doomed.

Hez an absolute pain in thr ass.

Do you know that the reason he isn't at Barcelona anymore is because he was kicked out of la decima as a punishment for his behavior.

Hes got the ronaldo attitute but not the work rate. Top top top player but attitude is awful, if klopp couldn't manage sakho then id leave this kid alone.

Also my worries exactly about salah boss. I haven't seen much of him taking people on one on one, its always seems to be with pace. Part of the reason i don't think he got in the chelsea team, very possession based.

I disagrre that we need another coutinho though, id take lemar and mendy as all our transfer business myself like. that's are left side sorted for years. Witb top top players who work brilliantly together.
