Ed's, do you know if we have been interested and scouting Insigne as a replaced, ent for Coutinho?

Ps Ed1,so sorry to have read your sad news pal. My thoughts are with you and those close to you both.

Suffolk-red-fan

{Ed001's Note - he was certainly under consideration in the summer, I don't think we have lost interest it is more that he is not going to come right now while Napoli are top of Serie A.

And thank you very much S-r-f I really appreciate it.}

1.) 06 Jan 2018 21:29:38
Regrettably no. We’ll settle for some substandard player like Mahrez.

2.) 06 Jan 2018 21:44:28
Mahrez substandard don't make me laugh he would do a decent job. He's no PC but he has a bit of wow factor about him an he's not CL cup tied.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 21:49:15
He be a livwrpool player by monday.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 21:53:58
Truth IMO, Mahrez is a HUGE step down form Cou. Worse of all, he is lazy, inconsistent, does not track back and only plays when he wants to. Just watch our game against them where I think he touched the ball 5 times and left his fullback Amartey out to dry with Mane and Cou picking on him all game. If he comes, he will get my support BUT I hope he does not.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 22:29:36
Bit like Mane then when we signed him. That didn’t turn out too bad. Let’s get behind him if he signs and give him a chance! He’s premier league proven and has actually won the league!

6.) 06 Jan 2018 22:33:56
Thanks Ed, best wishes for Monday.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much S-r-f.}

7.) 07 Jan 2018 17:10:01
Truth hurts, you're right, Mahrez does have a bit of wow factor about it him, but not the kind you are thinking of. Its more " wow, look at that lazy git who couldn't be bothered tracking back at all ".

8.) 07 Jan 2018 22:14:48
My sentiments exactly, Brisbane.

Hi Eds, Happy New Year to you all. Do you know if the club have looked at Insigne as it a replacement for Coutinho and if so, whether he would be at all interested in a move away from Napoli?

Many thanks.

Suffolk-red-fan

{Ed001's Note - if he was looking for a move away from Naples, LFC would be among a large group of clubs who would be interested.}

Not a rumour just an observation and opinion on our goalkeepers. What I have liked about Karius is that when dropped he has been quietly determined and not outspoken. However, it always seems that minutes after a game in which Mignolet is dropped we hear reports that he is not happy with the situation and will need to consider his position. It could be media but personally I don't like the idea of players holding the club to ransom and I prefer Karius's quiet determination any day of the week.

my opinion is there seems to be a bit of bias in the media/ pundits at the moment like sky and BT tell the pundits to get on Karius back if he does the slightest thing differently, take the game against Spurs he punched the ball 20-30, which is all he could do and still was being blamed after the game by some in the media.

{Ed002's Note - That is ridiculous.}

2.) 07 Feb 2018 09:05:12
Migs threatening to leave is hardly holding the club to ransom. Lol.

3.) 07 Feb 2018 10:10:52
To be fair he doesn’t seem to do as many brainless things as Migs does.
He’s still dodgy on any ball above head height. He’s too easily bullied in the air. Needs to bulk up and throw his weight around.

4.) 07 Feb 2018 11:10:10
At least Karius looked like he wanted to be there against Spurs, Mignolet looked like he didn't want to be there and looked like an U10 keeper against West Brom, hope he never plays again after that sulky display.

5.) 07 Feb 2018 11:08:07
There isn't a media bias. They exist to generate talking points which increases interest, and therefore traffic, and therefore revenue. LFC's defensive issues are an easy talking point so they exploit it. This week it'll barely be mentioned because Conte's future is the easy talking point. That's how it works, and it's why even on our Spurs-Christmas run of games where we were among the meanest defenses in the league they were still discussing our awful defense - because it's easy to and it keeps generating hits, so why stop?

6.) 07 Feb 2018 13:18:43
For god's sake but some of you are capable of some special mental gymnastics. Migs get dropped and is asked what he thinks about it, unsurprisingly he says he's not happy, now he's labelled a moaner. However good or not he is he's been a loyal and professional Liverpool employee and as a minimum deserves respect.

It seems like the Holgate/ Firmino incident is a bit of a storm in a tea cup and misunderstandings. My only worry is that the FA are not known for their competence or consistency, or for that matter speed of decision.

I just hope they don't drag this out and want to use this as a statement following Brewster's complaint which seems based on some very genuinely racial incidents.

Let's hope they resolve this quickly and use just the facts to decide if something was said or not.

Thanks Ed. Not an easy day for you with the result plus all the hype around this event.

Be nice to see both our teams challenging for honours again soon, with the Blues just a little behind us of course! Chuckle.

{Ed025's Note - i would not expect anything less suffolk mate..

2.) 06 Jan 2018 14:00:31
I thought Everton played decent in the second half especially. For long periods in was a 50-50 game. Salah makes us a much better team.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 15:25:22
Spot on, Sufolk and Ed. This is to me, a nothing burger.
