Trent AGREES new deal not sure when it will be signed.

Square tomato

1.) 18 Sep 2023 11:50:03
Well in square

Boss news.

2.) 18 Sep 2023 11:53:56
Excellent news!

3.) 18 Sep 2023 12:04:14
Excellent news @ST.

4.) 18 Sep 2023 13:10:58
Great news. Will be club captain in a couple of years.

5.) 18 Sep 2023 13:21:43
Centerpoint will be gutted.

6.) 18 Sep 2023 14:30:45
He is no Sol Campbell this lad.

7.) 18 Sep 2023 14:40:26
Thunderbird 2 that's a wild assumption. I was speaking from fear that he may leave, combined with a logical possibility that he may want to play abroad at some point, where he gets less stick for not being a great defender.

8.) 18 Sep 2023 17:43:16
Centrepoint instead of saying Trent has no intention of leaving, he will sign a new contract! Backing this theory up with Trent himself saying he wanted to be Liverpool Captain, win loads of trophies at Liverpool and end his career here.

Your post was about what you thought Trent might think, using your own personal fears and no facts.

9.) 19 Sep 2023 03:42:08
Glass half empty, I guess.

10.) 19 Sep 2023 05:43:08
Excellent news ST, thanks for passing it on.

11.) 19 Sep 2023 10:26:30
Thanks ST - hope all is well with you!

07 Jul 2022 14:51:51
Firstly no idea regarding money or if and when we could make a move but I know that the English lads in the team have been told by Jude Bellingham Liverpool is his first choice.

Square tomato

{Ed002's Note - He won't be moving this summer.}

1.) 07 Jul 2022 15:51:17
Does that mean he’s going to commute here from Germany then Ed? ?.

2.) 07 Jul 2022 15:53:01
Wow! Yes! OMG!

3.) 07 Jul 2022 17:00:42
Does Klopp have the Klipperty's for him though?

4.) 07 Jul 2022 17:01:54
too class 176 ??.

5.) 07 Jul 2022 16:24:28
Ed2. Could you see us buying a midfielder this summer and Bellingham next summer? I know you have said all along you would think we will get a midfielder this summer.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any change to what has been said before.}

6.) 07 Jul 2022 16:48:20
I assumed so Ed just passing on what I’ve been told by the English lads.

7.) 07 Jul 2022 17:12:00
Hold your celebrations. A lot can change in a year, even if this is true.

8.) 07 Jul 2022 18:01:21
Cheers for the info ST.

This site shall henceforth be known as the when's Bellingham signing site?.

9.) 07 Jul 2022 18:24:49
A la Simpsons style - has he signed yet?
We're already stacked for midfielders, so making room and the obvious financial layout would have to be sorted before anything starts to happen. It's a pipe dream until he's seen leaning.

10.) 07 Jul 2022 18:51:40
Excellent info square. Square can you get Joe to autograph a shirt for me to hang in my bar.

11.) 07 Jul 2022 18:53:24
Thanks Square Tomato for passing on the info. That’s all I needed to know. Bellingham is my first choice as Hendo’s successor and the fact he wants to come to us is a good start. It’s now up to the club to work out the fee for next summer. A lot can happened so you never know we might be able to convince them to sell this summer, although as Ed2 said it looks unlikely.

12.) 07 Jul 2022 19:03:19
Go on test the water now fsg.

13.) 07 Jul 2022 20:07:09
There is no need to test the water now. Priority will be to move Ox and Keita on next summer latest. Milner will likely leave but don't mind him staying as a player/ coach. Then Bellingham becomes possible. Other positions are mainly secured so CM may be only need next summer.

14.) 07 Jul 2022 20:29:31
Isn’t this the point in the conversation where we ask if we will be bringing in cover for Fabs?

15.) 07 Jul 2022 23:27:38
Rambo, we won't have to worry about moving on Ox and Keita next summer; they will both be gone, on frees, since their contracts end next June. It's either that or give them extensions now.

16.) 08 Jul 2022 20:04:50
Will we be bringing cover in for Fabs?

20 Jun 2022 13:36:22
Joe Gomez signs new deal.

Square tomato

1.) 20 Jun 2022 13:42:53
Thanks for update Square Tomato. Great news. I was hoping he would sign but was afraid that the limited playing time in a world cup year could sway him to move. This is great for the team!

2.) 20 Jun 2022 13:44:49
Doesn't get much more official than a post from ST.

Massive Gomez fan and hopefully this is a sign that he's part of our long term plans and this isn't just a deal to make sure we get more value when selling him.

Let's see the lad press on and push for a starting place next season!

3.) 20 Jun 2022 13:45:10
Great news. Thanks for sharing, ST.

4.) 20 Jun 2022 13:46:10
Nice! I was worried he was going to leave to get more game time. I hope we find a way to give him more opportunities.

5.) 20 Jun 2022 13:51:10
As far as 4th choice centre backs go, you won't find one better than Gomez. Good news for Liverpool.

6.) 20 Jun 2022 14:00:01
Brilliant, absolutely love Joe. This is shaping up to be a real nice summer.

7.) 20 Jun 2022 14:06:42
Wouldnt be too sure he'll be fourth choice next season MK, has had a year to be back right, wouldn't surprise me at all if he was lining up alongside Virg first day of the season despite the competition. Either way strength in depth at centrehalf is off the scales, with the likes of Van Den Berg coming along nicelt too.

8.) 20 Jun 2022 14:43:53
That's one hell of a defensive unit we have lad's.

9.) 20 Jun 2022 14:55:57
Great news.

Just think we could field a keeper and back line of

Kelleher, Trent, Matip, Gomez and Robbo which comes to a combined cost of 11.5 mill.

Unreal business that.

10.) 20 Jun 2022 14:56:15
My god. I kinda ignored this post as just another person trying to predict something. Only when others jumped in I noticed it was ST.

Awesome news. Joe had some great performances especially towards the end of the season. Some of the rb performances were so impressive. Delighted he s staying on.

11.) 20 Jun 2022 15:35:52
With Ramsay joining to be Trent's full time understudy, and since it has been mentioned here by people in the know that Gomez doesn't suit our playing style anymore, i can only imagine that this is a move aimed at protecting his value.

12.) 20 Jun 2022 15:36:37
Absolutely brilliant news. top player. Hopefully stays fit and gets a good run in the team.

13.) 20 Jun 2022 15:44:18
Great news. I've often wondered if Joe could not only be Centre-Back and back-up right-back but also back-up Defensive-Midfield - can tackle, is fast and strong. I remember watching Ledley King and Rio Ferdinand play this role.

{Ed025's Note - but they were proper footballers who were not made of glass BD..

14.) 20 Jun 2022 15:59:27
Thanks for the update Square Tomato. Hopefully Joe Gomez regains his starting spot with Van Dijk. Still feel they are the best partnership by a mile.

15.) 20 Jun 2022 16:14:53
As opposed to what 25?

Gomez made of glass and not a proper footballer?
Utter, childish, nonsense.

16.) 20 Jun 2022 16:37:31
Ledley King? Not made of glass?

I love it Ed025!

17.) 20 Jun 2022 17:04:52
Didn't Samuel Jackson play ledly King in that movie . glass.

18.) 20 Jun 2022 17:24:08
Ed025, now why do you have to go and stir the pot on such a nice, quiet and peaceful Monday evening? ?.

{Ed025's Note - I’m like superman ArAy. I have to tell the truth. Although I do get some strange looks when I walk around with my undies over my kecks mate.. ?

19.) 20 Jun 2022 18:58:44
Ledley King was NOT made of glass?

Are you sure about that 25?

20.) 20 Jun 2022 20:08:50
Well Ed025 thinks Firmino is crap, so maybe take what he says with a pinch of salt.

21.) 20 Jun 2022 21:10:14
Really pleased about Joe signing a new contract.

He should be getting back into the side more often all being well.

He really deserves to be injury free next season so he can push on and show us all what a top footballer he is.

22.) 20 Jun 2022 22:15:35
We are blessed with centre backs at the moment, I've never seen us have a stronger combination of 4 who can cover each other the way they do. And we have folks who advocate selling one (or even two) of them for no real justifiabe reason.
Hopefully this is spot on, Gomez is excellent.

23.) 20 Jun 2022 23:53:24
Ok, just asking, VVD is our left center back, do any of the others prefer playing on the left but have to rotate playing on the right?

24.) 21 Jun 2022 12:18:13
I believe Konate prefers playing on the left too.

Matip and Gomes in the right CB role.

As for the Ledley King comment by Ed25, I needed cheering up. The only two players who trained less than King (injuries) were McGrath (knees and possibly alcohol) and Best (party, party, party) .

15 Jun 2020 14:12:22
Looks unlikely we’ll sign anyone of note and I’m more than happy to give jones and Elliott a proper chance in the first team, We need to clear the decks a bit and tidy up the squad, Clyne will finally leave and I trust Neco as a good understudy too Trent, Plans need to be made for Adam Lewis and larouci But if we can’t get ample cover in for robbo I’d like to trust them to step up, id have loved to sign white to replace Lovren should he leave but it all seems unlikely now, this squad has done amazing and I’m so exited to finally see our beloved Liverpool win the league I know many have already but this’ll be my first experience of it.

Square tomato

{Ed002's Note - Adam Lewis (LB) expect a loan - Blackpool are keen and there has been a discussion.}

1.) 15 Jun 2020 14:27:07
Ok then, I think that’ll be a great experience, to get consistent first team football.

2.) 15 Jun 2020 14:52:35
I would like too see larouci as more of a winger he is not a left back, he would get exposed defensively in the premiership.

3.) 15 Jun 2020 15:16:10
I suspect he’s already a failed winger hailstones to be honest. Most full backs are nowadays.

4.) 15 Jun 2020 15:36:13
Do you think we will see a few players head to Blackpool, given that they have Critchley as the new Head Coach?

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

5.) 15 Jun 2020 15:48:15
From the limited games i have seen in the u23 i would take Lewis over Larouci.

He looks as though he could handle playing at first team level, Larouci looks a bit lightweight to me.

6.) 15 Jun 2020 16:05:07
I know it's only reserve league but larouci looked like a decent young winger with good energy good cross an shot on him he scored a few pearlers as well, then all of a sudden he is a potential robbo stand in . I am not convinced by him or lewis from wat I seen.

7.) 15 Jun 2020 17:23:50
I think Milner will continue to be the Robbo stand-in at LB, while Larouci gets a couple of games here and there as he learns the position in the reserves.

Neco Williams was also a winger not too long ago, I think you almost have to be a converted winger to play in Klopp's system, he tried to do the same to Rafa Camacho which is one of the reasons he left the club.

8.) 15 Jun 2020 18:16:32
Yes but for every Neco Williams or Trent success story, there’s an Alberto Moreno story too.

9.) 15 Jun 2020 18:52:22
Good to hear from you square, hope you’re doing well mate in these strange old times!
Anyway, send (I’m sure) all of our best to Joe.

15 Nov 2019 15:05:24
hi Guys just to clear something up, Joe has been dealing with something in private that I won't disclose since the start of the season, well actually before that goes some way as the reason why he's not been in the team but he's fine! , doesn't reflect how he's been training or whatever, Matip would be playing now regardless of how good he's been (I know he's injured but you get my point) The sterling thing has not made anything easier but these things happen. Cheers.

Square tomato

1.) 15 Nov 2019 15:16:02
Thanks for the update.

2.) 15 Nov 2019 15:42:04
He is class and will be world class without a doubt. We love him, screw the dumb fans that boo’d him.

3.) 15 Nov 2019 16:37:34
YNWA is our Motto and will never change ST.
We are with jo though think and thin. Please send him our support😘.

4.) 15 Nov 2019 16:52:12
Thanks for the update ST, Gomez is a quality player and we are all behind him.

I hope things sort themselves out and he is back in the team asap.

5.) 15 Nov 2019 16:54:04
Pass on our best to Joe if you talk to him. Absolute class player and attitude. And hope he overcomes whatever the issue is. Y. N. W. A.

6.) 15 Nov 2019 16:57:33
Joe will always be admired and respected whilst he gives his best at LFC.

Some England supporters are just plain idiotic.

I can understand Joe wanting to play for his country and I wouldn’t want to stop that but for me seeing Joe alongside Virgil is what really counts.

YNWA Joe.

7.) 15 Nov 2019 17:36:26
I hope Joe is okay! He's a top player and showed more maturity over the past few days than some players do in their entire careers. Pass on all our energy to him! :)

8.) 15 Nov 2019 18:58:13
Tell Joe that we ALL love him ST.

9.) 15 Nov 2019 19:46:21
Send our love ST! Lotta respect for big Joe!

10.) 16 Nov 2019 00:16:12
Hi Square Tomato, Send Big Joe all our love from the Redmen Down Under - no one here questions his ability and we look forward to him being back when he is ready! YNWA!

11.) 16 Nov 2019 06:53:05
ST, look at all the responses. Shows he has the support of most fans. let's hope in time stuff sorts itself out.

Thanks st.

12.) 16 Nov 2019 12:30:02
Hey ST I would like to echo everyone else’s assessment of Gomez, fantastic player and sorry he’s going through whatever he is going through atm. Hopefully he’s okay and back to the starting 11 as soon as! Really disappointed at the **** who boo’d him, just a minority that should spur him on to be even better!

13.) 16 Nov 2019 13:57:06
Tell Joe it doesn’t matter if non lfc fans boo him, tell him it doesn’t matter if people think he’s a “big man” or not.
All that matters is that he keeps his head, keeps improving, and wins the f@&£ing league this season!

Seriously if the lad keeps grounded he genuinely has the world at his feet.
Life can be sh! te from time to time, and I hope the issues that have caused him problems dissipate (as they all do over time) .

He is on the right track, I just hope he has the determination, patience and good people around him to realise this.
✌️.

14.) 17 Nov 2019 13:22:14
Big up to big Joe, currently the best CB England has. Cheers for update ST.

15.) 17 Nov 2019 17:54:09
Much appreciated ST, best regards and wishes to him and his family.

16.) 18 Nov 2019 16:55:28
Hope he recovers and draw strength from the club and the fans. Joe'll never walk alone.
Thanks for this update Square.

I'm interested to know if you guys think jones should be a starter next season? I love the thought of Henderson Fabinho and jones, if Naby can stay fit he's clearly got something the others don't, I expect Gini to leave i think jones looks so good really want to see him get a decent run in the team.

Square tomato

1.) 05 Aug 2020 15:32:44
You mean Curtis Jones
He can’t be a starter mate he will get games along the way but he has to fond his way in that squad before he can be considered a starter
If ox and Naby were long term injured then he would have a better chance of more first team starts.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 15:33:04
I think it may be a bit early for us to rely on him as a starter. Would we want to put that much pressure on the lad? What if results don't go our way and he gets some media pressure - would be a lot for him to take.

I think ideally we keep Gini (new contract etc) and Jones gets eased into the team, taking over the playtime previously occupied by Lallana. This would probably mean a number of appearances off the bench, the odd league start and starting most cup games. THen if he does well we go from there!

Red Sandman.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 15:36:30
I don't think it should be handed to him. I'd look to start the season with him as back up to Keita/ Ox in attacking midfield and maybe even the left wing covering Mane. If he is good enough to start he'll make himself un-droppable.

I think by the time he is 21 he'll be a regular starter. No need to rush him though. He's only 19 and has 15+ years of his career in front of him!

4.) 05 Aug 2020 16:07:57
I rate him highly and for me he doesn't look out of place when he plays. He should certainly not fear competing for a place.

5.) 05 Aug 2020 16:24:45
Jones won't be a starter right away cos as we all know, Klopp likes to ease young or new players in slowly but surely. This is common knowledge.

6.) 05 Aug 2020 17:08:54
He's got it, there's no doubt about it. when Trent got his chance, there wasn't even a debate like we're having now. It was nathanual who? Like hmb says he was undroppable. Jones will get chances so it's up to him.

What's happened to Ben Woodburn? Did I miss something? Have I forgotten something?

With a lot of talk about our enigmatic midfield lately. The Ox seems to be missing in many assessments. If it was ox or thiago, it'd be aoc all day for me. And gini is often preferred to ox. Sorry, not trying to turn this into another wjinaldum thread.

I met a lad on holiday who was at school with Jones. Said he was a very quiet lad but like a magician with a football. He wasn't blagging either. He said to me "my mate made his premier league debut the other day" we were talking Liverpool, it was during the Chelsea game, he said "his name is James something, or something James" I said "what? Curtis Jones" his mates started saying "some mate, u can't even remember his name" in truth he just went to school with him. But his comments were music to my ears.

26 Jun 2020 00:07:26
We’ve done it, can’t believe it well done everyone, god bless! YNWA.

1.) 19 May 2020 13:54:40
OP, you go way back with that one, man. Love it.

2.) 19 May 2020 14:03:04

6.) 19 May 2020 15:57:11

7.) 19 May 2020 16:07:06
I’ve definitely been using this site a long time haha, Konoplyanka was a nightmare!

8.) 19 May 2020 17:05:34
It feels like only last year ST, but it was 2014!

9.) 19 May 2020 17:17:16
Zizou signing for his godfather Houllier was a memorable one for me. Not on this site though. Had people in meltdown.

10.) 19 May 2020 18:37:59
Arda Turan. I hear he's been a LFC fan his entire life.

11.) 19 May 2020 18:38:51
Should of signed anelka, one that got away we had him then settled for diouf.

12.) 19 May 2020 19:55:47
Just seen Simao getting into a taxi at the airport.

13.) 19 May 2020 20:54:54
We don't need any of the above. we have Sean Dundee!

14.) 20 May 2020 19:54:23
K Honda will be signing for sure!

17 Aug 2019 08:37:21
Pretty sure Matip is getting a new deal, good news I think.

Square tomato

1.) 17 Aug 2019 09:52:24
OP, he has to. He really stepped up his game late last season with monster performances. I did not think he had it in him cos he was pure rubbish before that IMO but credit to him for picking himself up and getting it done.

2.) 17 Aug 2019 09:53:43
Rumour mill today saying Shaq could leave this month before window closes. Would be a dent to our squad depth If it happened but cannot blame the lad as I cannot remember the last time he had any run of minutes for us.

3.) 17 Aug 2019 10:00:38
Well deserved and a far better player than he is given credit for. Took an undeserved amount of criticism on this site, some were blaming him for goals conceded, when it clearly was not his fault. He proved a few so called fans wrong.

4.) 17 Aug 2019 10:00:41
Apologies for going off the subject in my last post. Redwolf agree mate I thought he was brilliant last season and so was Gomez. Both will learn so much playing with VVD and in front of Allison.

5.) 17 Aug 2019 10:35:42
He was good for parts of last season, I'm not singling anybody out but some have short memories. Yes, he stepped up when needed and impressed more than I thought he ever would so I'm not slamming him and I do believe he deserves a new contract (thanks for the info ST) all I'm saying is, he wasn't great all season. He scared me half to death every single time he was on the pitch, I'm not as bad now but I'd still prefer Gomez any day.

6.) 17 Aug 2019 10:58:33
Absolutely deserves a new contract. I’ve also liked Matip but cannot lie that when he goes on one of his runs and loses the ball or passes the ball to the opposition repeatedly like on Wednesday I do question his thinking.

The other night he majestically ran through Chelsea team and got to the edge of the area. I was shouting for him to shoot but he never does even when in a good scoring position. I’d rather he shot and missed than pass and give ball away and be out of position.

Actually I’m sounding negative about the guy. I’m just drawing out he can step up a notch still but I’m very happy for him to be in the first 11 or sub bench.

7.) 17 Aug 2019 11:08:11
JK23, Matip made several mistakes last season so let's not play the short memory card here, with all due respect. What he did do was cut those errors out and just play his game and in fact, he would later become more physical, aggressive and developed a lot more bite in his challenges and interventions. This was when the penny dropped for him, IMO cos I always saw him as a stroller, not a true CB who gets stuck in or make his presence felt. Now, he is much better and long may it continue.

8.) 17 Aug 2019 11:28:55
Redwolf loads of our players made mistakes last season so there's no short memory from me. They are all humans they make mistakes. Matip played in 22 league games and 8 CL games and we are champions of Europe and had our highest every league tally. He massively played his part in that. When I say he was brilliant that is not me saying he is a brilliant player because he’s not but for me he was brilliant in what he did and again it’s not me saying he was brilliant for every single minute of every single game. Gomez was also brilliant for us until his injury. Certain players in our team cannot have a bad word said about them and posters come out with their pitch forks if someone dosay anything. It’s just a shame those same posters don’t offer the same protection to the players they then criticise themselves.

9.) 17 Aug 2019 11:34:34
Matip is improving in every game. Deserves a new deal.

10.) 17 Aug 2019 11:38:00
Thanks ST, send our love to joe!

11.) 17 Aug 2019 11:59:41
He was very good JK23, and improved as the season went on. As you say, an integral part of the CL winning team and PL team coming 2nd with a great defence.

Credit where credit is due. He got stick when he wasnt so hot, so he is due a bit of praise.

12.) 17 Aug 2019 12:41:36
good for him!

13.) 17 Aug 2019 14:00:42
Jk23 well said, I also do not have a short memory. Matip is not a great defender and it is difficult to find even a good defender these days. We all know he made mistakes but so did other players.

I stand by what I said because he received dogs abuse off some posters, he was the scapegoat even when he was not at fault.

Just a quick shout out to Sturridge, what a player so many good memories, also what a fantastic human being, I lovely man who was inspiring to the young players, he helped pretty much all the kids in and around the first team, I know first hand he was instrumental in helping joe settle in, he'll be missed massively by all the players, and I wish him all the best for future YNWA studge.

Good post ST, he was a class act on the pitch on his day and sounds like he was the same off the pitch too. Injuries did for him as we know, massive shame really.

Good post that
Up the pool.

ST I cannot deny that he scored many top goals and was a good squad member in the past couple of seasons.
However whilst in Madrid on Saturday there were rumours that his cousin was knocking tickets out for £6k, which pi**ed me right off, no need.
Decent player on his day though.

4.) 05 Jun 2019 19:05:15
I'm sorry shughes but that's nonsense. How can you judge Sturridge based on something his cousin may or may not have done?

5.) 05 Jun 2019 22:38:51
I know nothing about his cousin.

My uncle's an Everton fan.

{Ed025's Note - at least there is some sanity in the family then ravi.. :)

{Ed025's Note - they are not far apart redwolf..

I really like him actually, athletic versatile and fits the HG quota I think? I no he represents NI but he’s been at Norwich for a while so I think he counts.

{Ed002's Note - Being Home Grown is nothing to do with which country a player represents.}

Ok then, I think that’ll be a great experience, to get consistent first team football.

Agree Ed, also seems a good character, great for the dressing room.

{Ed001's Note - he was certainly well liked at the Hammers and Betis.}

Ed001 that’s funny as today at work I said if I could sign any midfielder in the world it would be Jude, what a talent he is.

Great summery Ed001, I’m very impressed with Philips too, he’s just growing and growing gets on with his work and does well especially in the United game after the Fernandes goal which you’ll obviously cover in that revue, the punditry and commentary is so dreadful that I now just watch games on mute!

Regards to Joe, It’s a real problem with recovery time he takes ages to recover from injuries when he was at school he broke his leg and it took a whole year to recover, however this injury he’s well on track and feels positive about it but I’ve not got a time scale sorry, there was something going on in the background from last season, which I’ll not go in to, but it was frustrating seeing some of the criticism when you know certain things, Virgil is ahead of schedule.
