Given the striker dilemma we are having currently. It seems Benteke is the likely choice who will be in red next season. Not my preferred choice but that's the similar debate going on here all the time. Either way, if he is red. Support him. But as abit of fun, who would your chosen striker be given you can have one, price tag irrelevant. Who would you choose. Likely names up there probably being:

Who you choose? My preference being lacazette. Obvious reasons. But I like the hunger he has and he can actually score from
Outside the box and has great accuracy. With our style and energy. I think he could pop in at least 15 in his first season. That is if we play the high tempo high press style. But with Rodgers. Who knows.

1.) 08 Jul 2015 17:47:45
but no premier league experience!

2.) 08 Jul 2015 18:39:18
Lacazette too for me, although I would bring back God to help him acclimatise ;-)

3.) 08 Jul 2015 18:50:50
Lacazette is probably first choice just, but he's never played in PL so a worry he may not adapt.

For me Higuain due to him being the more experienced striker and played at a high level for longer than Lacazette. To be fair I'd take either one.

{Ed030's Note - I'd have Higuain, seen more of him than I have of Lacazatte and from what I have seen Higuain the better player, I'd also prefer Benzema over Lacazette. Both Higuain and Benzema would be a vast improvement on the current players while also not blocking the development of the youngsters. }

4.) 08 Jul 2015 20:07:08
I guess I was going for lacazette due to the way I seen him play. I like how he has an aggro and good strength. Plus, I do think he has a hunger for goals. Being very direct and driving at the goal. Higiuan I think would be top quality too and could fit but for some reason I don't think he would work just as well as versa. I wouldn't say no. He is world class. But I guess my judgement of hearing rumours of him for 3 years and 6 transfer windows. Put me off him a little now. Benzema would be amazing. I think he is one of the best strikers. From what I've seen. That is what I think lacazette can become. Only for his age, makes me choose the other. In terms of no pl experience. I think all three are technically good enough to cope and push them all to be better. As it's a faster game.
But if your short of experience. Get emile back. If your looking for a real eye waterer. He's your man.

5.) 08 Jul 2015 21:43:22
How in the name of sweet jeasus could you have heskey's name in there. Are you on crack or something.

{Ed030's Note - I think his name was added for a joke. }

If price irrelevant Ronaldo f i r me

Hi eds, wanted this to be mainly for ed001 but it would also be great to see two replies to this from 001 and 002. My question simply is, what do you guys expect? And think is doable this window? and would successful? Or even who you wish to see at the club?

There's a lot of people on here linking us to whoever all the time just because their good on fifa means we have interest in them. It's getting annoying and ridiculous sometimes. Must be a pain in the ass for you guys all the time.

Honestly I just want to see what you guys think. I'm not mentioning any names here purely to be optimistic and not bias. You guys are the ones who basically know there stuff. So my trust is in you.

{Ed001's Note - I really don't expect a lot to happen, January is difficult at the best of times, but this year there is a World Cup coming up, most players with hopes of going will not want to move. It leaves you with an extremely limited pot of potential targets. There will be those with hopes of going but no hope of getting in their current team. Those who are not near a place in their national side. Finally, those whose country failed to get there.}

1.) Doesnt seem like we should do business unless we get a good one, i'd rather we postpone transfers in till the summer if that can mean we get quality. I believe we have enough tools to make it to top 4 providing players staying fit.

2.) Hmm fair enough then, it all makes sense about the World Cup, just a pity that it stops us from developing into a stronger team. With that said. The team is strong enough to continue winning, although a winger is a problem as it has been for a while. And we need Enrique back too(although I'm not his biggest fan) so it's the same positions were looking that were also struggling.

In which case then, we do wait til the summer and get top 4. This being the piroity. What would the targets be there and would you reckon they change from what they are now?

Salah, Bertrand, Montoya, rakitic, etc.

{Ed001's Note - I think we will end up missing out on Rakitic to be honest.}

3.) Agreed there. Probably will stay if they continue good form. Or move to psg. Becoming a great player.
Salah probably will wait til the summer.
Personally I would love Montoya. But I'm not keeping my hopes up for anything now. Simply so I don't disappoint myself. We all need faith in the team and BR. I just really wanted to know what you thought we would do or get. Or want.

As we get all the questions of this guy or that. And there always stupid possibilities for us at this current time.

This is so great. Really want to come but not certain on travel arrangements and getting there etc. Would love to play if I could.
With the Facebook page, does anyone have the link or exact wording for the page. When I search it, I get Liverpool FC latest/ transfer news but I am not sure if that is it and the other pages are out of date?

I think they should employ the 343 and give that a try

Ward/ Karius

Matip/ Gomez/ Lovren (sadly because we have no one else but if I could, I think he needs away from the team after last performance, give him a reason to improve)

TAA/ hendo/ can/ coutinho

Ox/ bobby/ salah

Another possibility would be to try and take matip off too. He knows he is guaranteed starter right now, so isn’t playing as hard as he can. Because he knows he on the team sheet, so just isn’t trying that hard.
I would also chuck ox in to give him a run in a position he wants and try and build up his confidence within the team. Also to give him some gametime. The boy needs it and can atleast play the role abit better among this team. Have Coutinho higher up recently. He is getting confused since he is used to dropping deeper and playing more in the middle/ left and having him up top right now isn’t helping since he is getting used to the more central role. Which is really suiting him. This then allows ox and salah to play further up more and have a little more fluidity up top. And Coutinho actually can drop back when needed. Having the three at the back should help control the game. Allow can to drop more central which allows Lovren abit wider. TAA can cover back is well where hendo can drop deep and Gomez/ matip can cover the wide gaps of any open up.
With the pace we have up top, the team can play counter attack very nice and quick football while still have a defence of 5/ 6 players.

Personally this needs to be sorted with a decent keeper! Someone who will give authority at the back and command his box and people around him.
I also think it needs to change from zonal to man marking depending on the game, stop allowing player to run onto us and get them marked out of the game. I think that if this was put in place. I don't think matip and lovren would be as bad as they show. They can defend but the system they play has so much more risk. But having mig behind them really doesn't help. A DM would also help the team out no end. And stop the gaps opening up at the back for us. But I also think that Henderson needs to find a new gear and crack on further as he sometimes puts the CB's under pressure. The amount of times you see matip running further forward than him is not a great sign. Sometimes it is fine but it is too regular. He needs to develop his game faster and to be more direct for us. I honesty think that will help us move on. But then I think the team formation should change and that klopp should try 4231 hendo and can in the middle. Bang into there heads that when one goes the other sits, and let the front 4 roam freely to intertwine together. I reckon that would really help the team structure and also bring more solidarity.

In my opinion guys.

The whole PC situation has put a cloud over the club but no one can judge PC over his time at the club and determination, looking at it from a different point of view, in any role we do in work, if you are offered a better job with more pay and a higher rank. You take that from a financial point of view and to improve and better yourself. Apply that to this situation and it's very similar. I have always rated PC and he is quality but we can carry on fine without him. The thing I feel is that firmino has played out of position for a long time and really wants that no 10 role. With PC going, he can be dropped back there with mane and slash either side. We can then actually use a striker which we brought in or the supply we have. Then have a combo of hendo/ Gini/ Can sitting in the middle. Thing with firmino is that he runs so much that he will help track back and help out is well. Plus our issue has always been at the back so really I feel the whole VVD is planned to sort the defence and the NK was to help cover them while being a machine. Really though as a team. We need to focus on the defence and structure which is what I think the club is trying to do. If we can learn to fix this. At least if we learn to defend, we will do so much better. It's been said on here for so long but our defence needs the work. If this can get worked with the internal team and training. If we can't break teams down, atleast don't concede and we will go much further. Old saying, you win from the back. If you can't score. Make sure you don't concede.

Just my thoughts. But we will be alright without PC, the boy has been good for us and as a player to have the chance to play for the best team in the world. That won't atleast twitch his thoughts. So don't blame the boy at all. Plus from yday. We saw what mfs can do and will do for us this season

Keep the heads up!

If your on iphone, you can download live sport tv from the App Store. Doesn’t also comment in English and sometimes the stream can lag or buff for abit but generally it is really good. Being using it all this season. Yes it’s only on the phone but better than not watching it.

Great review ed01, good points although I did worry about the performance as the game went on. We just seemed to forget to play and gave up silly possession.

Alisson apart for the silly turn, played a great game I thought and cleaned up anything coming at him. I remember a corner which he caught out in mid air which if it was Karius or mig, that would have been punched or scuffed. So confidence does come from him and I think it shows.

VVD just had a poor day. Luckily as klopp mentioned it was on a day we won. So it is fine and Gomez was on it, so it helped.

Gini was terrible, there was a time he completely lost the ball at his feet. Got caught out and it lead to a shot, it was off target but still his error led to this. I dunno why he always gets in, I do wonder if it’s klopp putting him in the window for other to look at or check the player happy. Is strange though as the window has closed now though. So no sure but in the 2nd half, we couldn’t string passes together hendo was looking for a pass as Leicester started to push and pressure us and he was no where to be seen, didn’t give an option and we couldn’t get out. Milner was running around but the support was just not there and they were all on different wave lengths. TAA had a similar situation and couldn’t get out so ended up conceding possession as no option was given to him.

Mane I think is really coming into his own. Does so much work on and off the ball and tracks back so well. A really strong guy and uses his pace well to win the ball back. Firmino was off, his touch was off and abit of the pace but hopefully that will come with time, I’m a huge fan of his so hope his performances start to come together with the sharpness and intelligent runs he makes. But he just looked a little off. Salah was fairly quiet but always a threat. I thought he looked a little tired.
Subs have been mentioned. Keita came into a disjointed midfield and replaced the one trying to organise it. Shaqiri I think did ok, offering some threat and holding up the ball in the dying stage of the game. Just good hold up and what is needed to grind out the win. Matip, well he’s just useless really so we got lucky with that at the end. But it’s great to play like we did and no where near the electric pace we can do and still get these wins. Really is what’s needed.

The defence is looking more solid and there is always goals in that team so we are addressing the issue the club has. Keep this up and we can start believing.

To be honest, who should really care. The win rate is higher with him playing for us and England. He is captain for a reason, more than most people realise and they just don’t understand his position or what he does for a team.

Haha ed 01, you never fail to amuse us. My memory is just as bad. More on the basis of I choose not to be all that bothered in the first place.

I could imagine sticky notes are your best friends.

On the whole keita thing as well, I anticipate it will not come up in way as bad once he is at the club. I think he just wants the move and to get going. I’m sure it will work out fine once here. Let’s just hope he can bring his top form with him and advance out midfield to the next step.

{Ed001's Note - if I ever remembered to buy some sticky notes would be great. But then I would have to know which one to look at when I needed it....}

Fantastic read that MK. I don’t comment much mainly as I prefer to read through but I am definitely in the fan base to support hendo. I have to defend him enough in work to explain this but you are spot on in the sense of playing the carrick role. Utd with him were like lions. Without they were kittens and they still miss him now. I am all for hendo and really hope with keita coming in. He is intelligent and hopefully he will match hendo on the field to become another engine in the works.

Keep it up and look forward to the next one. Can I pop in a request and you do one for firmino, magic feet.
