Hey eds, any interest from Liverpool, or any team, in Richarlison from Watford? He's looked decent every time I've seen Watford play. Thanks guys, hope you're having a great day.

ScouserRob

{Ed001's Note - none from Liverpool, most interest died out because he has been awful after a good start.}

1.) 21 Mar 2018 19:50:43
Agreed Ed1. I’ve seen Richarlison play live on a number of occasions and I assure you he’s massively over hyped. Ok he’s young but I’ve never seen a player miss so many clear cut open goal chances in all my 40+ years (he makes Ronnie Rosenthal look like Messi on occasions :) .

05 Jul 2017 14:26:57
Hey eds,
Is there still interest in young LB Josh Tymon? SSN posted that he has just been released from Hull.

ScouserRob

{Ed001's Note - no it died off.}

1.) 05 Jul 2017 15:45:43
Scrap that, they just posted that he's signed at Hull.

2.) 05 Jul 2017 15:55:58
Stoke ** man I'm really off my game today.

21 Aug 2016 15:38:34
Hey eds
Just noticed that we are interested in signing Leandro Parades, according to SSN.
Just wondering if you knew anything about it?
Cheers.

ScouserRob

{Ed002's Note - Roma's Leandro Paredes may be sacraficed to add to the transfer budget this summer after a season on loan at Empoli, but the club would like to hang on to him if they can. He has also been of interest to a number of clubs including Milan, Fiorentina, Chelsea and Manchester City. There has been an approach made by Monaco and an offer from Leicester. He has also been offered to Bologna on loan as part of a deal for Diawara, but he is heading elsewhere.}

1.) 21 Aug 2016 16:01:32
Don't know much about Paredes eds. Is he an attacking or defensive midfielder?

{Ed002's Note - Defensive.}

2.) 21 Aug 2016 17:08:52
Would rather Medel if he is available.

{Ed002's Note - Medel won't be moving to Liverpool.}

3.) 21 Aug 2016 18:33:30
Parades is not really defensive. He is a controlling midfielder like a Xabi Alonso.

4.) 21 Aug 2016 18:49:46
He sounds simular to what we already have chaps tbh. Also eds has said above who has interest in him and the situation.

5.) 21 Aug 2016 17:55:40
Ed1 said he believed incomings where over.

Is this just lazy journalism? There's calls for a cm and we watched empoli a lot last year (zielinski)

Or is this substance to this rumour?

6.) 21 Aug 2016 19:31:08
Lazy journalism mate I would say. Eds would have said if there was anything in it.

7.) 22 Aug 2016 01:51:17
He's comfortable playing back and has a wonderful long ball. with the speed we possess, would be a great skill to have to assist with the counter attack. Could be very beneficial. The CM's/ CAM's that we currently have want to play forward. He would go a long way in helping balance the mid field.

Hi eds and Reds,
One for ed001.
Was just on the SSN page and they claim that their sources (which are usually bang on) say that Alexander Manninger is training with us in view of a contract. Do you know anything about it? If it's true, can you see the sense in signing a 39 year old back up keeper? Also wanted to know if you've seen him play before, to see if he's any good. Thanks guys, this page is much appreciated.

ScouserRob

{Ed001's Note - we are looking to bring him in as 3rd choice, to allow Ward to go out on loan and have experienced cover in the event of an injury. Most Prem clubs have a 3rd keeper who is in the veteran stages, especially when they have younger keepers, so they can act as mentors.}

1.) 12 Jul 2016 13:40:21
Thanks for the insight ed001, i'd rather start him over Mignolet anyway haha.

2.) 12 Jul 2016 16:02:42
Much like Richard Wrights triumphant 4 year spell at Man City.

25 Jun 2016 11:55:55
Nathan Redmond having his medical at Soton according to SSN
Looks like Sadio Mane is on the way.
I really like him as a player, and read what ed001 said about his attitude. Just hoping he can put that behind him and grow up a bit and play his best football for us.

ScouserRob

1.) 25 Jun 2016 13:05:15
I second that ScouserRob. Hope he fulfills his potential with us.

2.) 25 Jun 2016 18:27:42
Talent wise, very few players can do the things Mane can do. If Klopp can fix what's btw his ears and if he can handle the pressure, he will be devastating for us.

3.) 25 Jun 2016 17:11:16
See how quick a Southampton medical was?

Our take days and they still end up injury prone.

4.) 25 Jun 2016 23:29:05
Isn't it nice that nobody is saying "we're will he play, he doesn't fit into are system" have faith in klopp.

5.) 26 Jun 2016 08:24:55
Redohio, you've changed your tune about Mane, you said this in one of your posts not long ago

"Mane is another Benteke waiting to happen. We clearly have learnt NOTHING from the Carroll and Benteke debacles. "

Make up your mind.

6.) 26 Jun 2016 19:57:00
Sid, go read other posts of mine where I have been very consistent on this issue. I have said repeatedly that Mane's talent is and will never be the issue and that his stinking attitude was. Also, I said he will be a Benteke or Carroll type flop if we pay the price quoted as he has not produced the tyoe of consistency or stats to command such a fee and I still believe this until I am progen wrong on this and I will b happy if that happened. There, fixed it or ya.

I know it's hard to say Ed001, but in your opinion, after Alisson is (fingers crossed) ours today, do you still see us going in for Fekir? And maybe Vida? Cheers mate!

ScouserRob

{Ed001's Note - Klopp really wants Fekir, we know he is stubborn and will wait for the man he wants, so I still think we will return for him. Might be the club holds off until January to see how things stand, but it is the way Klopp works. Fekir wants the Liverpool move too, which helps.}

1.) 19 Jul 2018 08:26:49
ED001

Would I be right in saying that waiting until January would hsve nothing to do with FFP as this summers window and the January 2019 window would come under the same assessment period for the accounts, so to speak?

So just curious as to why we would wait until then? Is it a case of being up against time now before the transfer window shuts early and trying to strike a deal with Lyon consisting of structured payments rather the fee in its entirety?

Regards.

{Ed001's Note - I was thinking it might be a case of waiting until then to make sure we can offload a few to bring the wage bill down first.}

2.) 19 Jul 2018 08:32:23
Whatever happens no one can complain this window!

3.) 19 Jul 2018 08:36:46
Thanks for the reply ed, I really hope we can get him, as I think he will be the replacement for Coutinho that we never got. Do you know anything on Vida? Or is it all speculation? Hope you're having a great day mate.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate sorry.}

4.) 19 Jul 2018 09:00:09
We desparately need to get on with some outgoing transfers at the moment, our squad is getting ridiculous.

5.) 19 Jul 2018 08:51:55
I like Fekir a lot though I don't think he is at the level of Coutinho but I have to say that having knee reconstruction before the age of 25 worries me greatly.

6.) 19 Jul 2018 09:24:09
Agree about offloading a few players before signing Fekir. The wage bill must be off the charts right now, so as long as Lallana can prove his fitness we can do without Fekir for now. But if Fekir comes in, people like Origi, Ings, Markovic, Migs, Karius, Kent, possibly Sturridge all need to find a new home to reduce wage bill and not fall foul of FFP.

7.) 19 Jul 2018 08:43:43
Is it a case of the club hoping Fekir’s desire to push the move through will make Lyon accept the deal already on the table?

{Ed001's Note - no.}

8.) 19 Jul 2018 09:52:28
Morning Ed001
Hope all is good Bud.
Just on a reply from previous, youbsaid Klopp is stubborn and will wait (VVD being prime example) . As reported during the season Salah was 4th choice ( l think) . We was lucky that he wasn’t stubborn and wait for his first choice then.
Not that it matters, do you know who the 1st choice was?

{Ed001's Note - yes it has been said many many times on here it was Brandt, who didn't want to join us, hence why Klopp moved on.}

9.) 19 Jul 2018 10:21:30
My read on Klopp (please correct me if I’m wrong, Ed001 as it’s just based on assumptions and logic) is that Klopp is extremely stubborn when it comes to player recruiting AS LONG AS the player wants us too.

VVD did, so he waited.

Brandt didn’t so he moved on.

Fekir does, so I reckon he will get him now or wait.

There’s always a deal to be done with the intermediaries if both parties want a move to happen, it’s just about negotiating 😀.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate. Lemar would have come but wasn't overly fussed about joining us, so it is another he moved on from. The player has to want to join the club for Klopp to push for the move.}

10.) 19 Jul 2018 11:22:32
Thanks Ed001.

Adds to my Klopp-love, I only want players at Liverpool who really, really want to play for us. Better camaraderie, better team work, better results!

And less turnover of playing staff hopefully.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed.}

One for ed001 and the fellow posters, now that the final 4 are set, which team would you much prefer to play against and why? Just an interesting topic because of different styles of play, me and the lads are having a chat about it now, and we are saying we would much rather Bayern, like John Barnes said. Thoughts?

ScouserRob

{Ed001's Note - I don't mind, not sure it really matters at this stage.}

1.) 12 Apr 2018 05:21:44
honestly feel like we can beat all 3 so im not fussed.

2.) 12 Apr 2018 06:57:49
Opponents in the final in order of preference:

Roma
Bayern Munich
Real Madrid

So therefore I’d prefer to play Madrid or Bayern in the semis. We can take any team out over 2 legs. A 1-leg final is much less predictable as great players can freeze or average players can be inspired.
Madrid have the most wins overall and recently and have been focussed on this competition for a long time this season. They also have players who have played in many finals in this competition and they have Ronaldo. They will be very tough final opponents.
Bayern are dominant in their domestic league so are also totally focussed on this competition. They have players who have won this competition in their team. They are next toughest final opponents.
It’s been a while since Roma have been in the latter stages of this tournament. However, Barcelona found out you can’t underestimate them. I think their style is very ‘premier league’ so I think we will cope with them better than Barcelona. Also we have some intel from Salah.

{Ed0333's Note - your talking bollox Ron I think Harry Kane’s gonna win the Champions League.

3.) 12 Apr 2018 08:00:16
Ed333 im pretty sure Kane's head is in winning the National this weekend before turning his attention to the CL.

{Ed0333's Note - I think Harry Kane will win the grand national by a nose

4.) 12 Apr 2018 08:21:10
Wonder how much klopp would relish Bayern in the final for a little revenge and possibly a chance to interview for the job.

{Ed0333's Note - Apparently Harry Kane has got the Bayern Job.

5.) 12 Apr 2018 10:59:23
I don’t know ed, he hasn’t come out and said it yet 😂.

6.) 12 Apr 2018 09:25:01
Nah ed0333 he'll win by a shoulder.

{Ed0333's Note - lol very good. That’s just given me a massive chuckle thankyou.

Very tragic to hear the news of Davide Astori's passing. May he rest in peace.

ScouserRob

1.) 04 Mar 2018 15:02:02
Agreed Rob very sad news.

2.) 04 Mar 2018 16:46:59
Sir Roger Bannister too, absolute sporting legend. RIP.

21 Jul 2017 16:07:23
Welcome to the LFC family, Andrew Robertson!
Really hoping he can provide some good performances in a position that I feel we haven't had nailed down properly in a while. Can't wait for the new season to start already.

ScouserRob

28 Jun 2017 14:21:57
Hey Ed001, hope you've been well mate.
I read on the banter page that you expect the club to do a deal to sign Robertson for the left back position.
Although I'd have to agree with most and would much prefer a higher profile left back arrive, I also haven't watched enough of him to judge if he would be indeed a good pick up for the club.
Can you give us a quick rundown of what you have seen of him? What you think he could be good and bad at? Thanks mate.

ScouserRob

{Ed001's Note - he has a good left peg, but he tends to struggle when put under pressure. While he can deliver a good cross, if given time and space, every time I have seen him put under pressure on the ball he shanks it or hits the first man. It is the same defensively, he seems to panic a bit if he has to think about what he is doing. His positional sense is not too good either. He is a step up from Milner, in that he offers a left footed crossing option, which is badly needed. He is still young enough to improve, but I am far from convinced he is any more than a short term fill in until we can find a better option. Unless the coaching staff can work some magic on him, in which case he could grow into being what we need.}

1.) 28 Jun 2017 14:50:28
Thanks for the detailed reply, mate.
I'm thinking it could also be a very realistic option too considering Hull got relegated. If you were to have your choice on who the club would bring in for left back, I'm guessing it would be Mendy?

{Ed001's Note - my first choice would probably be Gaya to be honest.}

2.) 28 Jun 2017 15:37:14
You'd hope beyond hope it's a stopgap solution to give Juanma time to grow.

3.) 28 Jun 2017 15:48:24
Personally my first choice would not be Gaya. Don't get me wrong Ed001, I just think sexual preference really shouldn't come in to it.

4.) 28 Jun 2017 16:02:02
Gaya is a very good shout.

5.) 28 Jun 2017 17:21:27
I agree on Gaya, Ed, However, he is just as suspect defensively BUT awesome going forward and a much better LB than Robertson. Just having a left foot doe no good LB make. Would that defensive issue with Gaya not be a problem, as well?

{Ed001's Note - yep, but there are so few good defenders these days, it is a dying art.}

6.) 28 Jun 2017 21:12:38
Hector.

Cheers Ed002 for the clarification, can I just quickly ask what is your opinion of Alisson as a player? Have you seen him play enough to know if he's as good as he's made out to be? Hope you're having a good week, and keep up the good work!

ScouserRob

{Ed002's Note - He has had one very good season in Rome (the first season he didn't really play) and has done OK for Brazil - although some performances have been patchy. Other sides think he is good hence the interest, but there is a thought that he is well and truly overpriced.}

Ed002, weren't you the one who said the name of the Chelsea player he got it confused with? I can't remember off the top of my head who his name was, but I'm pretty sure he had 3 names and is 19/ 20 years old?

ScouserRob

{Ed002's Note - Isaac Christie-Davies was the one others were saying was Cillessen - I don’t know if Macca was confused by a picture of him on Twitter.}
