Is Luan of Gremio still of interest?

STEPH1

{Ed002's Note - Not at this time.}

1.) 30 Nov 2017 17:53:37
Thanks ed!

25 Jun 2016 18:23:50
Perisic now has a silly enough haircut! The chances of us now signing him have just increased! Right ed?

STEPH1

{Ed002's Note - You would think so but in this case I suspect not.

Enquiries about the availability of Inter's winger Ivan Perisic have been made by Dortmund and Chelsea. Inter don't want to sell but they need to meet the FFP requirements and will for the right price have to let him leave. Arsenal are known to have spoken with his representatives but have yet to approach Inter. Chelsea's interest remains but Dortmund will likely shift their interest to another. Performances at an international level have given a certain amount of amunition to his representative to get entry to talk to a number of the "elite" European sides to see what interest they may have. As for those asking about the interest of Liverpool, Perisic was a player, like Mkhitaryan, who saw their game stiffled by Klopp's rather naive kopflose huhn style of training and play - and he chose to leave Dortmund because of that. It seems unlikely that he would wish to move back in to such a situation.}

1.) 25 Jun 2016 18:50:33
"Arsenal are known to have talked to his representatives" tapping up Eds 002, I thought that was our job😃.

{Ed002's Note - That is not tapping up. What Liverpool have done in the past aand again recently is tapping up.}

2.) 25 Jun 2016 19:41:23
And again recently? Is that zielinski or someone else ed?

{Ed002's Note - Goetze and Zielinski - how many more recent examples do you need.}

3.) 25 Jun 2016 20:15:51
sorry Edd not trying to sound rude or anything but why is that not consider tapping? is it because it's with his representatives instead of the player directly?

{Ed002's Note - It is the norm for clubs to talk with agents and other representatives of players every day.}

4.) 26 Jun 2016 04:24:22
It wasn't naive. It won them two straight bundesligas.

5.) 25 Jun 2016 23:44:41
Don't really post on here, I just read the site about ten times a day as I know I get reliable information on here.

What I just read above just got my blood boiling though, dude seriously, what's your issue? If you don't believe what Ed has to say, sod off somewhere else like Twitter or something and please, don't ruin this site for fans like me.

As to the Ed's, thank youyou, I sincerely say that from the heart, you guys are amazing and the work you put in is outstanding!

6.) 26 Jun 2016 07:39:30
Sorry ed002 I didn't mean to cause offence I just wondered if anyone else had been tapped up! What could be consequences for the club could they face disciplinary action?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has a well documented history of making illegal approaches, and if charges were made by UEFA Liverpool's season of record breaking charges being made against the club and fans would see very significant punishments made if there were a complaint made.}

7.) 26 Jun 2016 00:05:19
Ed002 I presume you're talking about the farce that was the attempt to sign Clint Dempsey from Fulham, when FSG refused to pay the £5m asking price?

04 May 2015 20:57:48
I remember being mentioned that Balanta was recommended. If we sell some of our center backs does anyone see us going for him, even though he is not yet fully ready?

STEPH1

{Ed002's Note - No chance, sorry.}

03 Aug 2014 12:10:24
Spanish papers mentioning we're in for danny alves? any truth?

STEPH1

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Just saw the Feyenord fans singing You'll Never Walk Alone for our former goalkeeper Brad Jones whose son died 6 years ago, yesterday. IMMENSE RESPECT for them!
Even though football is just a game, it can make you realize what is truly important through special moments like these!
YWNWA Brad Jones!

STEPH1

1.) 19 Nov 2017 13:30:41
just watched that on the Echo web site, brought a tear to my eye, very moving and I'm with you Steph in saluting Feyenord and their fans.

2.) 20 Nov 2017 08:12:32
Couldnt help but share a tear, YNWA Brad.

3.) 20 Nov 2017 09:25:24
Football is first and foremost, the people's game and it is great to see that certain clubs and fans are still keeping this truth alive. Bravo to the Feyenoord fans and to Brad Jones and his family!

11 Nov 2017 10:35:37
If Coutinho is sold in January, will a replacement also be brought in, in January? Hypothetically speaking.

STEPH1

1.) 11 Nov 2017 11:08:54
I hope we don't. I don't think we need to replace him right now, we've proved this season he isn't 100% needed, we have coped without him. Id rather us wait till the summer, give woodburn a chance and prioritise a CB in Jan.

2.) 11 Nov 2017 11:16:28
I get what your saying corleone but if replacing him properly means a top 4 finish and not replacing him means we miss out. I'd like to definitely replace him and build on last seasons finish.

3.) 11 Nov 2017 11:16:56
Hopefully strengthen the defence, maybe a defensive midfielder aswell.

4.) 11 Nov 2017 11:21:34
Only if the right player can be bought. No point bloating the squad by buying for the sake of it. I'm sure klopp has an idea of who he wants to replace coutinho. I think a deal for coutinho might be struck in Jan but he won't leave till the summer. Vvd a must in Jan for me though selling coutinho or not.

5.) 11 Nov 2017 11:37:23
If the player targeted to replace him can't be bought in January, shouldn't we wait and sell him in the summer? It seems apparent that he wants out asap, but by not bringing a replacement when he does leave I believe would weaken the side quite abit.

6.) 11 Nov 2017 12:47:00
We brought in Salah which effectively replaces where he used to play on the wing, and Ox who can cover at wing or midfield, and Keita who will be coming next season to start in the box-to-box role.

I think if he leaves in January, it would be a shame, but I see no point in bringing in someone else just for 6 months until Keita joins. just let Gini / Lallana start and then use Can as backup, and Milner / Grujic if necessary.

The biggest problems we have are still at CB, and once Can leaves we will be short in deep midfield. We should focus on bringing in a CB in January and then a defensive midfield in the summer and I'm fairly happy. Quality over Quantity please!

7.) 11 Nov 2017 12:56:32
I’d look at bringing a player like Max Meyer. For me it’s the perfect time to bring in someone like Meyer who’s younger and not have too much pressure on him as we don’t need coutinho at the moment to win games. He can come in start games or be eased into the midfield three. Though that being said I’d Lemar right away. From the games I’ve watched him in he’d fit way we play really well, technically good and full of energy.

8.) 11 Nov 2017 13:31:25
Jordz. Max Meyer is not the replacement for me. Coutinho is in a different league to him. Max meyer is a decent player but he is like 21/ 22 and to be honest woodurn at 18 looks just as good. Not saying woodburn to replace coutinho right now but I believe we have a really special talent that should be getting easily 10-15 mins of premier league footie every week. Let's not forget keita is to come in, Lallana is to come back from injury and we wini hendo can (gone in the summer) milner grujic ox if needed there also. Lemar is an excellent shout tho. Fantastic player from what I've seen but for me if we sold coutinho for x amount a top centre back is top of that list as it is a priority in my eyes. Gk too if klopp doesn't rate ward or karius as eds said he clearly doesn't rate mignolet but that's a whole different debate.

9.) 11 Nov 2017 13:54:54
Steph. I think the way coutinho is playing at the min well was playing he is injured now apparently but will see on Tuesday how injured he is anyway the way coutinho was playing for himself not the team really weakens us. I agree his head or heart isn't here anymore. I would of got rid in the summer to be honest but respected the decision by the club and klopp to keep him. Was hoping he was going to do a Suarez and up his game to the next level get us into the champions league again and then leave for Barcelona then everyone would be happy. If he wants to leave the best club in the world to go play for a team of pensioners/ criminals leave him too it. We have lost better players than coutinho we will be fine. YNWA.

10.) 11 Nov 2017 14:38:53
I agree, IR89. Jordz, everyone seems to be all in with Max Meyer. I disagree, totally. I have seen him play for Schalke, and for Germany for the U-21's and in the last Olympics and sorry, he is not not anywhere close to Cou's league. He is 2/ 3 years younger than Cou and is still trying to get to Cou's level of 2 seasons ago. He is simply not good enough. I would rathersaign Brandt for his replacement even tho he's a diff. player and even if I think we will be fine w/ o a replacement till the summer if he indeed goes in Jan.

11.) 11 Nov 2017 15:53:20
The last thing we need is to sell our most influential player which might cost us a CL finish. What if Salah’s gets injured?
Brandt is a good player, someone klopp wanted last summer. I ll signs him next summer.

12.) 11 Nov 2017 16:09:30
Tbh IR89 I would be more than happy to see woodburn get more game time and spending on the defence. Just don't see that happening as he is not even getting a chance on the first team bench at the moment.

Loris I agree Meyer is not as good as Coutinho currently. But do think it is early to right him off, debruyne and coutinho only just coming in to there prime now at 25/ 26. I don't see a need for a replacement just someone that we can look to be there in a year or two. Whether that be woodburn or a younger player from Europe.

13.) 11 Nov 2017 17:18:04
Sideways Henderson. Salah our most influential player isn't going nowhere so don't lose any sleep over that. Joking aside coutinho is a fantastic player one when in top form would grace any team in world football. BUT I can see why klopp was willing to sell him in the summer as he is becoming a bit of a nuisance/ distraction to the team. I know you mentioned stats there played 4 scored 2 and 2 assist but be honest, as good as that stat looks it doesn't tell the full story. Coutinho has been a shadow of the player he is and we all love. His head and heart is not with us anymore. You say selling him would be a risk of getting top 4 but its not a dead cert if he stays also. We have lost better players than coutinho down the years but I'm sure klopp has in his head who he wants/ needs which is all that matters. Keep the faith man YNWA.

14.) 11 Nov 2017 17:21:05
We have the replacement for Coutinho already. Firminio, what we need is a quality striker to replace Sturridge and Origi and to bring Solanke into things more.

15.) 11 Nov 2017 17:31:11
Couldn't agree more Loris, Max Meyer is nowhere close to being good enough to replace Coutinho. He'll come sit on the bench for 2 seasons and leave for a loss on what we pay for him.

16.) 11 Nov 2017 17:35:07
Obviously. Can you imagine letting our best player go and not bring anyone in the fans would have a meltdown.

17.) 11 Nov 2017 19:24:07
You are wrong, Harry. What is wrong would be if we tried to keep a player who is clearly no longer with us against his will. That is what would be wrong. Also, Cou WAS our most influential player. He no longer is. That would be Salah, followed very closely by Firmino and Mane who are going nowhere and w/ o Cou we are 5th 4 points off 2nd so CL is definitely on. Even tho he has scored some goals for us, you simply cannot compare his output this season with that of last season. He was in the running for the PL Player of the year at this time last season. Clearly, that is not happening now as he was dreadful vs Spurs cos he did not even bother the whole game.

I know you love the guy and so do I BUT sorry, you are defending the indefensible and just throwing up excuses for his disgraceful behavior. I would like for you to show the same kind of support you show Cou, to our captain Hendo who actually, is dedicated to LFC and gives his all every time he plays even through pain and injury BUT I won't be holding my breathe for that to happen.

18.) 11 Nov 2017 23:39:28
Don't think replacing or not makes top 4 finish. Sorting out GK and defending (not just defenders) is more likley to decide it.

19.) 11 Nov 2017 23:59:44
If Coutinho goes, I won't look for a like replacement. I'll go for Leon Goreztka.
But then, even if Coutinho stays, I'll still go for Goreztka.

20.) 12 Nov 2017 09:03:26
Realtofel if Goretzka is to come, someone has to go and since Can is leaving, Goretzka will not be needed as his replacement is already on his way: Naby Keita.

10 Oct 2017 19:46:32
Really bad news about Mane, but, if we are a team that wants to challenge for titles and in Europe on a regular basis, surely times like these will prove it right?

STEPH1

1.) 10 Oct 2017 20:06:35
Lets hope the Ox can step up over the next few weeks then. That’s what he’s here for right? Don’t expect him to Saturday though. Usual defence and Midfield, Salah, Couts and Bobby up top I reckon.

2.) 10 Oct 2017 20:17:20
Spot on, Westwood. Time for Ox or whoever gets in, to put their big boy pants (or shorts in this case) on and go out there and prove himself.

3.) 10 Oct 2017 20:23:11
Gutted about Mane, but let's be honest, he is 1 player, arguably our best. Now it's time to show we can still do it even without one of the top players, I believe we can we just need to stay focused. Utd are also missing top players, so there's no excuses. Same goes for the rest of the games, these things happen. The international breaks are a right pain in the backside.

4.) 10 Oct 2017 20:27:52
Is mane injured? In training? Gutted, our best finisher bar coutinio. At least we got couts eh! A whole summer on the edge of your couch waiting for Barcelona to announce the signing of coutinio. We stood up for ourselves. I can't remember who posted it but it was brilliant, it went.

"Jog on Barca! "

Losing mane is a massive blow. Look at our win rate with mane in the team and then when he is not. I'm hoping a surprise adzm lallana might make the team or the bench. AOC needs to shoe us why we paid £35.000.000 for him on Saturday.

5.) 10 Oct 2017 20:32:16
Superred91 yes mate, we need AOC to really step it up now, I honestly think he will as well, we can only hope, let's see what he's got.

6.) 10 Oct 2017 20:33:09
We’re poor in defence and weak in midfield, now one of our most effective attackers is out for six weeks. That’s top four gone.

7.) 10 Oct 2017 21:55:00
I think he will come good corleone mate, arsenal play nice football and they offered him a massive contract ro stay. He must have something eh.

8.) 10 Oct 2017 22:15:34
I hope so superred, you make a valid point there. Let's see if he surprises everybody, I think he will as well mate.

9.) 10 Oct 2017 22:34:43
What was senegals best player doing on the pitch in the 89th minute when they were 2nil up. they have lost him for the s. africa games now.

10.) 10 Oct 2017 23:57:13
massive blow to hear about mane i would give solanke a few games he scored goals in pre season and in the u20s give the lad a chance he's good in the air too. pointless bringing him in if he's just going to keep the bench warm.

11.) 11 Oct 2017 05:25:00
I think the ox is a good option to have when mane or salah get injured. The problem with ox, he clearly has good vision, but his execution is poor. The best advice to him is just to keep it simple with his passes and shots so we don't waste opportunities he will no doubtably get. he's got some of the worst shooting and passing i've seen in an attacking player, he just needs to acknowledge his limitations and play smart.

25 Sep 2017 20:51:26
watching the arsenal game and I have a question regarding the Jay Rodriguez penalty. So he is fouled in the penalty are, he gets back up, takes the shot and misses. Shouldn't the ref go back and award the penalty?

STEPH1

{Ed025's Note - absolutely steph..

1.) 25 Sep 2017 21:21:58
Another question on the Arsenal WBA match. Is there a worse player in the premier league than Hal Robson Kanu?

{Ed025's Note - im saying nothing.. :)

2.) 25 Sep 2017 21:24:30
Thanks man! Thought I was going crazy because everyone is going on about Jay being too honest for his own good and it just didn't make any sense! Everyone wants players to stay on their feet and stop diving, but if players see this, I'm sure they will be wondering, why should I!

{Ed025's Note - once livermore had missed he should have pointed to the spot, never mind the time lapse it was nailed on mate..

3.) 25 Sep 2017 21:43:13
Kolasinic looks like a monster!

4.) 25 Sep 2017 22:24:39
Ed don't you think giving both Rodriguez and then Livermore clear opportunities was enough to class as advantage. A penalty isn't a certain goal at the end of the day.

{Ed025's Note - its only an advantage if you score smp, when they never give the pen for what was a blatant foul and a possible sending off mate..

5.) 25 Sep 2017 22:48:36
We encourage players to stay on their feet and be honest, yet are seemingly penalised when doing so? IMO if Rodriguez stayed down the ref would've had no choice but to give a pen.

{Ed025's Note - thats right Rbbb, and its unfair when the divers like lallana, aguero and the like roll over if the wind is too strong mate..

6.) 25 Sep 2017 22:50:11
Plays like one too.

7.) 25 Sep 2017 22:55:12
Cookie Monster?

8.) 26 Sep 2017 01:05:49
Playing advantage means if there's no advantage you go back and award the original foul. ie. a penalty for sure.

Drives me nuts when refs penalise honesty as it just promotes the players having to emphasise the fact they've been fouled by rolling on the floor like they've been shot.

9.) 26 Sep 2017 06:33:34
Didnt see the incident but my view is that an advantage in that case should be given if the attacking team lost their chance to score a goal. Say if he loses balance and gets an off balance shot off then that should be advantage ended and play stopped for a pen. But if he regains footing to get a strike on target that happens to be saved, then advantage is gone.

{Ed001's Note - the referee did not indicate he was playing on for an advantage anyway, so it is likely that he just did not see it as a penalty. Not sure how he could have come to that conclusion, but his arms made no movement to indicate play on at all.

I agree with the bringing it back, if no advantage is gained the play should go back. Though we often see refs wave for playing the advantage when the ball has gone back 40 yards, so why do we expect them to show any kind of common sense?}

10.) 25 Sep 2017 23:34:44
Miralles Ed? We all have them in our teams, don't pretend we don't.

{Ed025's Note - sadly your right mate...well except for WBA..

11.) 26 Sep 2017 11:15:53
True ed1, and that us the challenge in the end is finding and training refs how to read the game and apply the laws accordingly.

{Ed001's Note - that is a challenge that seems well beyond the game right now.}

17 Sep 2017 11:38:36
Decent coach, decent players, decent results, decent team! There is no escaping this. Not anymore. Our expectations should also be managed. Why are people surprised about yesterdays result is beyond me! It just seems to be the norm that whenever we make some kind of progress, we manage to take a few steps back!

STEPH1

1.) 17 Sep 2017 11:58:25
What's your expectations for this session?

2.) 17 Sep 2017 12:18:38
Hopefully make top 4 again! I mean, what else can you expect when u can't defend?

3.) 17 Sep 2017 12:32:54
Top 4 won't be easy. We will have to replace one of Chelsea or Spurs and that looks difficult! No chance of catching UTD and City!

4.) 17 Sep 2017 13:27:17
Agree WCD. City and UTD had a plan before the season started and bought who they wanted and needed. We also had a plan but screwed it up. Just like our players, execute well in training but fail miserably during games.

5.) 17 Sep 2017 13:46:34
And some questions the fans who points out those?

6.) 17 Sep 2017 13:47:20
Utd and city are sooooo good, their style is amazing, I wish we had some of their players, ours are awful.

Give it a rest, I thought this page was for LIVERPOOL fans. This is a low, that's all. And we have only lost once, when we come good and go back to winning games by three goals do you think utd fans will be praising us? Of course not.

7.) 17 Sep 2017 14:34:56
Mate they sat back, snatched a goal, we equalized, and then they defended even deeper looking for a counter. It happened last season and will happen against teams determined to defend with 10 behind the ball. I thought we played well - the biggest issue for me, defensive lapse aside, was the final ball from a number of players - many times we simply made the wrong decision when it mattered and that broke down numerous good chances for us. Robertson, Can, Salah, Sturridge - all were guilty of choosing the wrong option at a crucial time - if that improves we will have far more clear goalscoring chances. Overall it was frustrating - I don't quite understand the meltdown fans are having though.

8.) 17 Sep 2017 14:35:58
superred i have a question for you? just because this is Lfc page we should not say good things about other team? should we follow you an the other posters who agree with you blindly? . please pass me your rose tinted glasses and then we can all see things the same way. my friend the first thing to do if you want to improve is to acknowledge that there is a need for improvment.
Back to the OP question about expectation for this year? hopefully top 4 and a trophy but realistically i think top 4 is above our weight so i will be happy with a trophy.

9.) 17 Sep 2017 14:50:31
I agree crazy but I have heard nothing but negative comments about liverpool and positive ones about our rivals. We played pretty well yesterday but this gets ignored and cities result gets drooled over.

Fair enough crazy, I didn't mean to sound rude mate. I just don't like utd. Up the toffees!

10.) 17 Sep 2017 15:22:54
Superred91

Everton? lol the only person I like at there is Ed025? 😎😎.

11.) 17 Sep 2017 15:28:13
super at this moment Lfc and specially Kloop only deserve negative comments. We are falling backward due to Kloops arrogance. i like the guy he is very pasionate about Lfc, the issue is this 1step forawrd and 2 backwards are going on since last year. i still want Kloop to do good but i am slowly loosing that belief i had in him and his team.

12.) 17 Sep 2017 15:39:25
When Everton play utd it is an Everton win I'm hoping for.

13.) 17 Sep 2017 19:23:34
Yeah they deserve negative comments but not just negative ones.

What about. Liverpool slaughtering hoffenhiem when it looked a tricky task on paper, and qualifying for ucl for the first time in how many years? What about the strength of our bench yesterday? What about the four nil demolition of arsenal? What about the reborn moreno? What about salah, The new signing who has scored five times already? There are tonnes of positives this year and just coz we lost a game in which our best player was red carded and drew a game we actually lost last season, people completely lose faith in our manager and half the team. Let me remind you, yesterday was the first league goal we have conceded at anfield since April. I really hope we manage a clean sheet on tuesday coz I'm getting bored with the constant klopp/ lovren bashing.

14.) 17 Sep 2017 19:28:50
Superred, it is what WCD and his ilk do and has been doing it for ages. Other players are great, ours are crap. Crazy Horse does the same thing too. We can have discussions about other teams BUT no where would I ever trash our own players in favor of others. NEVER but these guys take joy in doing that cos it serves as a way to slate our team and manager. Pathetic attitude.

Back to the game. We were poor in the final third, making the wrong deciosions at the wron times and that is what killed us. Their goal? You can concede a goal and that is not the end of the world. What ithe issue is now is our inability to finish off our chances. This is where need to focus some of our attention on, as well as in defence.

15.) 17 Sep 2017 20:05:06
You're right bingo dude. Of course the boys deserve to be criticised when they don't get the result they should but the amount of negativity way exceeds what they actually deserve. Some people seem to take pleasure in knocking their own team. I sometimes wonder if they're utd fans incognito trying to rock the boat (yes that is an insult)

People who call for klopp's position to be questioned are the most dangerous imo. There aren't an endless supply of top notch managers out there. We are quite lucky to have klopp I believe. In the last 3 years it has been the signing that I was most excited about (klopp)

Some were on here last week talking about a collection for a "klopp out" banner or something, when in fact it was a 125 years of lfc banner that was paraded. Priorities!

Keep up the positivity guys!, you know who you are. Our team needs it's loyal fans at times like these.

16.) 17 Sep 2017 20:08:18
Was a 100% stone wall penalty at the end too bingo. I reckon if we were shooting toward the kop that would've been given. Gutted for solanke too, he should have scored. Being in the right position to get the chance was promising though.

Is there anyone we could hold our breath for ed? any treats?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained in the Sharkopod where there is interest in players that I am aware of. You can add to that the young Benfica CB I mentioned and I have explained what the agent of Vrsaljko has said - but I would not really expect anything to come of either of those.}

If the player targeted to replace him can't be bought in January, shouldn't we wait and sell him in the summer? It seems apparent that he wants out asap, but by not bringing a replacement when he does leave I believe would weaken the side quite abit.

Agree WCD. City and UTD had a plan before the season started and bought who they wanted and needed. We also had a plan but screwed it up. Just like our players, execute well in training but fail miserably during games.
