Ed002 anything about a Newcastle approach for sturridge or is it BS?

Ruthless

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it but due to convoluted circumstances Joselu may move there. Stoke decided it would take a couple of months to sort out Luan's ownership and Gremio want to keep him until the New Year. Sampdoia may bite and accept that with the Patrik Schick money and that removes Spartak from the deal. Stoke has a tentative agreement with PSG over the cost of Jese (loan, loan to buy or buy still up in the air) and have permission to speak with the player. If that goes ahead, Joselu will move to Newcastle and they will end their interest in taking Danny Ings. But Surridge to Newcastle is something that has passed me by.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 21:27:57
I heard Studge had passed a medical there. Soon as I heard that I knew it was not true.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 21:31:57
Damn that was a mouthful ed2 😂 for a moment I thought it was gibberish lol

Just shows how complicated transfers can be 😒.

3.) 14 Aug 2017 21:39:46
@Jayden23.HAHAHAHAHAHA.

4.) 15 Aug 2017 02:59:17
Strurridge passing a medical would be a miracle! I mean, I would expect him to get injured during the medical and would require medical help. Just kidding. I think Sturridge will stay for another season and hopefully it'll work out well for him and us.

5.) 15 Aug 2017 10:53:17
Hed pass the medical but would probably pull an abductor signing the contract.

Ings to wear no. 28 @ Liverpool FC. Had a chance to speak to him the other day, went down to the england u21 squad hotel.

Saw Lawro as well, who happens to be a fantastic guy. Spent a good half an hour chatting with me and some friends.

Was he not offered the number 7 or 9? Lambert has the number 9 now, but he will likely leave.

2.) 22 Jun 2015 13:14:21
I thought Lambert was staying?

3.) 22 Jun 2015 13:20:18
He would hardly have been offered Lambert's jersey while he is still here, surely we are not that bad now?

Also is Lambert likely to leave? I thought it was a case of he can leave if he wants but he is welcome to stay as backup if he wants too. He may be waiting to see if we sell Borini and Balotelli and whether or not someone else comes in then.

4.) 22 Jun 2015 13:21:07
Dunno mate, but he signed number 28 on my shirt and he was no 10 of Burnley & 17 for the u21s

5.) 22 Jun 2015 20:47:47
Lambert surely would have had talks with the club regarding his future especially as an offer was accepted for him during the January window

6.) 22 Jun 2015 21:33:37
Need a top number 7 this year.

7.) 22 Jun 2015 22:59:19
Just seen the Echo reporting him choosing the 28 shirt because he wanted to earn a low number shirt. Fair play to the lad.

8.) 23 Jun 2015 04:45:02
Milner was given 7.

9.) 23 Jun 2015 05:59:41
I wonder how long it will take Balotelli to earn a lower shirt number? ;)

Ed002, quick question about the Suso thing.

As he is under 24, and we have surely offered him an extension atleast matching his current wage - if he was to move to another club on a "free" wouldn't we be due some compensation?

Ruthless

{Ed002's Note - Compensation would be due, but it is not much.}

27 Feb 2014 13:10:19
Being linked with Caulker today, any of the EDs know anything?

If Cardiff do go down, I wouldn't mind taking Caulker and Medel of them

Ruthless

{Ed001's Note - nothing mate, regarding us anyway, Newcastle are the only club I know for sure that have an interest in him.}

26 Dec 2013 14:27:28
Hi ED002, have arsenal moved for Salah?

Ruthless

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has indeed made an enquiry for Salah.}

Ed002 a couple of journos have said Coutinho ..............

Cheers.

Ruthless

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant ae don't want to get in to that sort of thing on the website.}

19 Aug 2017 13:51:11
Ed001 mate, if Barcelonas bid for Coutinho was actually 80m staggered over 5 years with 36m in add ons (I know the details are tedious), can you see that just angering the club and making us more determined to keep him? I thought it was a bit insulting to be fair, considering they've got 200m upfront for neymar.

Ruthless

{Ed001's Note - not sure why it would do that? It is just business. They are trying to get the best deal they possibly can.}

1.) 19 Aug 2017 14:39:03
Well tbh Ed if I had a car worth 130k I didn't want to sell, and someone offered me 80k for it after I told them I didn't want to sell, I'd probably tell them to do one, perhaps with a slightly different combination of words.

{Ed001's Note - but would your business involve any kind of car dealing?}

17 Aug 2017 07:26:44
Gotta say I'm only 21, but this is comfortably the worst Barcelona team I've ever seen, and not even joking, I think we'd smash them.

But hey ho if he thinks he can turn the worst Barcelona side I've ever seen into cup winners fair enough, they don't have any money (besides the neymar money), there best players are literally all 30+, Messi, Suarez, Pique, Iniesta, Busquets, Mascherano.

They're finished, they can't go out and buy a whole new team and they can't get rid of the overpriced or ageing rubbish players they have Turan, Gomes, Rakitic etc, oh and to make matters worse they've just bought Paulinho 😂😂.

Post might sound like I'm bitter, and I am towards Coutinho because putting in a transfer request the day before the season starts, he can go stick his head up Messi's you know what as far as I'm concerned, don't want him in a red shirt ever again.

Don't care about all these people going on about how we need to keep our best players, usually I tend to agree, but I haven't wanted a player gone so badly since we sold Mascherano the little rat, but then again Mascherano, Suarez (also a rat to be fair) at least they went to a Barcelona side capable of winning things. Coutinho will achieve nothing there, maybe a copa del rey, Real Madrid are just on another planet right now.

Oh and as far as I'm concerned Coutinho is just as bad as Mascherano, think it's telling that Klopp said something along the lines of 'we'll have him available when the window closes, or maybe when he's back from injury', it's a fake BS back injury, and that makes him just as bad as mascherano, if not worse. Mascherano asked the club for a long time to let him leave, Coutinho said he'd like to go but wouldn't agitate for a transfer, the lying little

However everything I've said about Barcelona i honestly believe, they're going to have a rough few years and I can see very trophies being added to that cabinet, and I will throughly enjoy it every time I see Real Madrid giving them an absolute spanking.

/ rantover.

1.) 17 Aug 2017 07:55:00
Haha Classic! 😂😂😂.

2.) 17 Aug 2017 08:07:14
Oh dear someones a bit bitter, he is just a player, there will be better that come along. I wish him all the best and let's move on.

3.) 17 Aug 2017 08:10:48
I've munched on raw lemons that had less bitterness than that.

4.) 17 Aug 2017 08:25:26
OP, your bitterness is showing. Players come and go BUT our great club will always be here for us all even after we are all gone from this earth. It's just football, mate.

5.) 17 Aug 2017 08:44:22
I think if last night showed anything, it is how bad both Gomes and Rakitic are. If anyone thought they would be good makeweights, I urge you to watch the game last night, they were terrible, and it is a microcosm of how bad they were last year.

6.) 17 Aug 2017 09:39:25
The OP doesn't deny being bitter. A good post IMO and he's correct too.

7.) 17 Aug 2017 11:05:44
Yeah it's a fair one but what about us struggling to win against teams like Watford, isn't that something we should worry about? Coutinho can F off to Barcelona but we need to sort our own problems, let's not worry about other players or teams.

15 Aug 2017 09:33:52
ED002 do you believe Barcelona have the finances to obtain both Dembele and Coutinho? Apparently the Dembele deal is edging closer.

Ruthless

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) 15 Aug 2017 10:05:42
Really even after spending 35 million on Paulinho?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

2.) 15 Aug 2017 10:20:51
Lol Why do some people sounds like a west ham or Crystal palace? I mean c'mon Barcelona has money! No matter how much they pay to keep Messi and Suarez at the club! They are not a "Sell to buy club". Why are people surprised at Barcelona spending. Did they not splash €40 mill on Gomes and £30 mill on Turan lately?

{Ed001's Note - but they are selling to buy. If Barca had not offloaded Neymar, they would not be buying Coutinho or Dembele this window.}

3.) 15 Aug 2017 10:35:26
They were willing to spend circa 100 million Euros on Veratti, pre-Neymar transfer. I think they've got enough.

{Ed001's Note - only because they were looking to offload a significant number of players to fund the deal. They have money issues of their own, which the loss of Neymar has gone a long way towards fixing. His wages were a major burden on the club.}

4.) 15 Aug 2017 10:39:14
Barca are not broke. They just have more money now due to the Neymar dough.

{Ed001's Note - technically they are in financial difficulties, which is why they have had to amend their own constitution repeatedly in recent years to allow a higher percentage of wages to turnover and to allow the club to carry a larger debt. If they have a down year financially, ie an early exit from the Champions League, then they are in serious trouble. However, this being Barca, they can carry as much debt as they want because no Spanish bank will call it in.}

5.) 15 Aug 2017 10:57:24
Thankfully Dembele is not a LFC player, otherwise everyone would lose it. He won't talk to anyone from Dortmund and apperently he is allready in barcelona and waiting for the conformation. Dortmund want €130-150mil but Barcelona only offered €90mil+€20mil add ons.

If Barcelona splashes €150mil on him + €30mil on Paulinho they would still have €40mil left from the Neymar deal alone. As far as i know Barcelona haven't been that active and could add another €110mil on the remaining €40mil for the coutinho deal.

6.) 15 Aug 2017 11:04:40
Barca could certainly afford one star signing every summer in the bracket of £70 mill regardless of Neymar! Now they have adequate money to buy which would rise even higher if they could offflod a few of their fringe players.

7.) 15 Aug 2017 11:07:29
Aren't Barcelona in like the top 5 teams with the most debt in probably the whole of the footballing world?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea.}

14 Aug 2017 08:32:08
Ed001 mate you reckon There's any chance that Phil leaving could see bobby drop into midfield and we could potentially sign a striker? Might be the way to go because I do think firmino is good enough to play upfront for us I just think it might be the easiest way around the problem.

Ruthless

{Ed001's Note - he might drop back but I doubt we will sign another striker.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 08:35:28
Why sign a new striker, trust in Solanke, see what Rashford is doing.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 09:07:02
Rashford is played in the wings to accommodate Lukaku and once they sign Perisic he will go to the bench!

I don’t understand the logic, they tried to buy the lad in the summer and we told them to do one. Now they think it’ll be possible for them to sign him in the January window, when it’ll be harder for us to find a replacement.

And then again because it’s the mighty barca, who before the turn of the century had less European cups than Aston Villa, they’ll come to us and give us a similar offer to the ones they made last time, when Coutinho has just had the best 3 months of his career for us, statistically speaking at least.

Interesting to see if he has a recurrence of his back problem, however, With Mane and particularly Salah interesting other clubs, we need to sent a strong message,

Ruthless

{Ed002's Note - I don't think you really get this situation.}

I reckon this is the season when he's back to his best, if it is god knows this side will take some stopping, the amount of chances we make he could well be top scorer.

Wonder if any of these football collectives are planning on making Liverpool FC their flagship, we all know that there's only maybe 10 clubs in the world with as big or bigger fan bases than us.

I strongly disagree, thought he was good in the little transitions, few quality balls over the top and a couple of good tackles as well. if emre can played any of them passes you'd all be wet.

Ed I'm sure after a couple of years on 40k a week, you could have nothing coming in for a few months and people would hardly starve,

At the same time I have no idea what his wages are.

Ruthless

{Ed001's Note - his wages were significantly less than that. You forget they signed him from the second tier in France, which is equivalent to our League 2/Conference National in terms of wage structures, in the main. You are talking about a player earning a few hundred pounds a week that signed for a Championship club that was not cash rich at that time. He has had a pay rise for last season, but it is not the same as having had a big move, like VVD and Couts, which would have paid a signing fee of hundreds of thousands.}
