Hi Eds,

Just a quick one on Max Meyer and your opinion on him.

With him being on a free transfer would he not be worth a punt regardless of what wages his agent is asking.

Or is a matter of the wages are ridiculous he's asking or is it he kids attitude that is putting teams off.

Thought it would be the most logical purchase taken into account the money already spent.

Rockhardstevieg

{Ed002's Note - Just just give him a great big signing on fee, pay his ridiculous pages, sell Keita or Fabinho to make space.}

1.) 22 Jul 2018 12:24:27
Just give him 300k a week and break the wage structure which in turn will have the majority of the squad asking for a raise. it’s a no brainer.

2.) 22 Jul 2018 12:46:44
The lad is asking for wages and a signing on fee that are far beyond what his actual talents deserve. He allegedly comes with some baggage and, as we already have Fabinho and Henderson who can play the DM role, are probably best focusing on an area of the squad that actually needs attention.

Was watching MNF last night and the discussion regarding Jack Wilshire. Neville was saying he is bay far the best English Midfielder when fit.

My question is would he be worth a punt of throwing a £15m bid in for? Yeah I know he has had a really bad injury record but doesn't seem much of a risk if we got him for that price and if we could get him fit it would be a steel. Thoughts?

For me he's England's most overrated midfielder by far. He wouldn't get anywhere near our team imo.

2.) 16 Jan 2018 12:39:35
No, he is not good enough, he does not stay fit long enough and he has off field issues.

Neville is a poor judge of players as he has shown repeatedly, especially during his very short lived managerial career. He is a pundit because he's good at talking and good at saying stuff like the above to get people talking.

{Ed002's Note - There is zero interest from Liverpool.}

3.) 16 Jan 2018 12:40:14
Don't get Ed1 started on Jack Wilshere lol.

4.) 16 Jan 2018 12:41:37
Wilshere is the personification of everything wrong with Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.

He is living on past promise, which hasn't been delivered. He is obsessed with finishing above Tottenham, to the point where he turned an FA cup winners parade into a big chant about Spurs. He is the flagship of their injury problems. He is as whiny and petulant as Wenger, to the point where he attacked a youth player. And most of all, he manages to look flashy whilst rarely ever achieving anything.

He isn't the best English midfielder for Christs sake. If we signed him, he'd be our 4th best behind Chamberlain, Lallana and Henderson; marginally ahead of James Milner. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. And he should thank me for that because the slightest touch might put him out of action for 6 months.

5.) 16 Jan 2018 12:44:03
Seen a few football “experts” saying he would be a good signing for us, can’t say that I watch Arsenal enough to make a judgment, but apparently Arsenal have offered him a contract which is lower than his current one (with lots of incentives) .
The lad is made of glass, but who knows, his talent could also be being stifled by Wenger. Wouldn’t be against signing him on a pre-contract, if fit he’s an upgrade on Milner.

6.) 16 Jan 2018 13:46:45
Wilshere is also an idiot. I know this personally, I've met quite a few times and he is stupid as hell. He considers the fact that he played on with a broken foot for england, despite the fact that it turned a minor issue into 4 months out, as something to be proud of.

May not sound relevant but we really need smarter midfielders. When we have a problem with balancing our midfield, getting players to read the game and track back, cover for team mates, fill in out wide etc he cannot be the answer. He is one of the least suitable players in the country for a role like that.

7.) 16 Jan 2018 14:17:48
He wouldn’t survive klopp’s Intense training regime. He is not as bad as people are abusing him! He is a decent player. We don’t need him as we had Keita coming in the summer!

8.) 16 Jan 2018 14:33:08
He's got a terrible reputation (for good reason) but he is a good footballer. If he was more mature he'd be as good as the hype.

9.) 16 Jan 2018 16:36:17
Neville is a whopper who completely bombed in his one stint of management at Valencia - his opinions should be taken with a pinch of salt because, whilst he was a very good player, he was clueless as a manager - being an ex-player doesn't mean he knows what he is talking about and his opinion on Wilshere is the perfect case in point.

Coutinho isn't going anywhere. FSG don't sell there star players, have a look at there baseball team.

Still hopeful of VVD but Lemar looks to be off now. May be one surprise bid that nobody expected coming!

1.) 31 Aug 2017 13:58:56
Torres? Suarez? Sterling to a lesser extent.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 14:01:39
Coutinho could be well on his way. Van dijk and lemar both at this stage look unlikely. If lemar goes to arsenal we helped funded it via buying ox. It could be an embarrassing window for us because the quality we've bought will be exposed this season as good or not good enough and I expect the latter. Salah and solanke are two good buys. I've no comment on the rest. Feelings were made clear.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 14:13:34
still believe Coutinho is going.

Hi Eds,

Any news on outgoings? I'm all for signing new players but our wage bill must be massive.

Sakho
Markovic
Flanagan
Origi
Mignolet

Must be looking at 300-400k per week there.

Obviously these players not going also eats into our transfer budget.

Cheers.

It's really starting to annoy me all these Klopp and FSG out comments.

Klopp is the one who has messed up on the transfers. FSG have tried signing players for big money.

People need to understand this is not Football Manager but real life.

Be patient, still 3 weeks left of the window.

Rockhardstevieg

1.) 15 Aug 2017 13:56:21
2 weeks and yes Klopp has messed up in this window but our transfer failings go back well before Klopp joined the club.

2.) 15 Aug 2017 14:02:39
Unfortunately lfc recent transfer stategy requires a 4 week period to get the selling club worried after announcing an interest before any offer goes in then another 4 weeks for a further offer or they will tie up a deal without getting the selling club involved 3 weeks left u say doh.

3.) 15 Aug 2017 14:09:05
I am not his biggest fan but I don't agree with the Klopp out comments even if he has been stupid regarding the tapping up situations but the FSG ones are long over due they do not fool me anymore.

4.) 15 Aug 2017 14:22:58
Wait, WHAT?

are you saying when I took AFC Fylde to the CL final it meant nothing?
