Afternoon ED's and Reds,

Been away for a long time (Master's degree) and missed all the excitement of new players.

Big Mario! I'm excited about him and can't wait to see Lallana come into the mix.

Disappointing result against Citeh but some positives from the performance and good three points against Spurs!

Ed002 - Can see you're still giving Brendan a load of stick! Ha.

ED can you tell me whether we have had any legitimate links with players for January? I've read through the site and it looks like we're looking for a new keeper?

Cheers.

Good afternoon ED's.

Do Liverpool hold any interest in Thomas Vermaelen? Or more to the point, do you think we would look to him should he become available in summer?

I seem to be the only one who remembers that he was a beast before his injury problems? I think when he's fit he's better than Per and Laurent at Arsenal anyway so perhaps Arsene would be reluctant to sell?

Come on boys let's make a real statement of intent and beat the glory supporters in their own back yard this weekend!

YNWA.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest and it seems very unlikely.}

I know it's not always a massive indication however people don't generally tend to bet money they don't have needlessly nowadays.

I've heard that a lot of people are backing Pedro to sign for Liverpool and this is also reflected in tv slashing their odds to 7/2.

Have you heard anything about this ED's.

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - Ribery was odds on to join Liverpool a few years back mate, betting odds have no bearing on reality.}

My first post in a while been really busy with uni work/new job: but I've tried to read up when I can as a lot of movement within LFC in terms of transfers.

1) Suarez: he's gone - bored of reading about him. Nobody cares whether you think he should be wished well or not. Have your opinion and keep it to yourself.

2) Is anybody else bored of reading posts from people who are complaining about people complaining that we aren't signing this player or that player? I mean, I understand it can be irritating when people say ''FSG/Ayre should be doing this that or the other'' or ''signing this player or that player''. But at least they have an opinion! These posts are getting even more boring! It's just the same moan about somebody having the same moans - which is worse! If you don't like it then don't read it.

Sorry that's my moan over with. Moaning about people moaning about moaning. Brilliant.

Anyway, question for the ED's, since this chap is a player I've seen practically nothing of. What are your thoughts on Markovic? Is he a player who is being signed to have immediate impact on our starting eleven or a squad player with a view to having a big future?

ED001, top post further down the page about support for new signings and I completely agree with you.

Cheers all. (Exciting times - stay optimistic!)

P.S ED001) I haven't forgotten what we discussed but my cousin has been away for a month (travelling) and he's the one I need to speak too before anyone! (You can delete this from the site post).

{Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts on Markovic, I have explained what I know.}

Morning ED's and fellow Reds.

First of all, welcome to Anfield Rickie Lambert, I'm a big fan of Rickie and think he will give us a different dimension up front - good luck to the lad.

My Monday morning musing.

I recently stated that I would pay up to 25M for Lallana: so if the reports are accurate (somewhat), then I'm please that BR and the team thought the same.

However, I would walk away at 30M. That is serious money and as terrific a player I think Lallana is, I just could not feasibly see why he is worth that sort of money. I think Southampton are over-valuing him personally, 25M is a large chunk of money and I'm very pleased it seems we have said ''take it or leave it'' at 25M.

30 Million could bring in the likes of Moreno and Kono: two positions we need more, than depth in the AM role of which Sterling, Coutinho (and where necessary Luis) can fill. Not to mention Suso (who I'm a big fan of and hope we hold on to).

I can't make any comments on Moreno because I haven't seen him play at all(?) - But I can't be 100% sure of that because I've watched Sevilla on several occasions on their route to UEFA(Europa paaaff) success and I can't say he stood out. Since I don't remember him? I know, he is a left back so is less likely to stand out, but I just seem to remember almost the whole back line of Sevilla getting booked very often, and nothing much else in the way of impressions?

But I do think the reported figure is a little excessive. It doesn't surprise me that Chelsea walked away at this price (although I'm guessing it wasn't just price which was the issue). I'd prefer we promoted Smith or went for a more cost effective option - but hey ''In BR we trust''.

Cheers all.

{Ed002's Note - The price was agreed with Chelsea.}

Good afternoon ED's and Reds,

The anticipation of the WC is building and the excitement surrounding prospective transfers to Liverpool.

It's going to be a great summer for football after what has been an enthralling season!

So here is my first controversial thought.

Gerrard needs to retire. His legs are gone and that slip against Chelsea was just completely reflective of a player without the nerve to cut it at the top level. Fergie was right when he said Stevie wasn't a top TOP player.

Only joking. I feel dirty even typing those words! Ha.

But seriously, Alexis Sanchez + Adam Lallana anyone? One can only dream!

ED001/002,

Can I ask your opinion on Lallana's proposed transfer to Liverpool.

A) Do you think he would be a good signing?

B) If you were BR (with the intimate financial knowledge of the club), what fee would you pay up to? (Without discussing in too much depth the echelons of fee/costs - a ball park figure).

I personally think he would be a terrific signing and if we had 60 million kitty (which I know is media nonsense but wouldn't be a completely ludicrous rough guideline) - I would pay up to 25M for him.

Cheers in advance.

RobbehMolby

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get involved in discussing money but Liverpool has a serious interest in him.}

I questioned Johnson's commitment last week but I can't say the same today.

I thought he had a terrific game yesterday but it appears like I'm the only one.

He offered an outlet going forward, worked hard backwards (often the full length of the pitch), as well as going past players and commiting them.

Johnson can't be blamed for yesterday's result - he was one of the best players on the pitch in my opinion and didn't deserve to be on the losing side. If he continues to play like that he deserves a new contract in my opinion.

We Go Again.
