Rush to get everything sorted before the WC has backfired.

From a purely business perspective, this is not the way to do 60 million pound deals, anyway. Due diligence are the key words.

If Aulas wants to be difficult, he will be difficult. The player is contracted to Lyon - they hold the cards.

Important now for the club to act professionally. We have had enough problems with previous transfer fiascos (Southampton and Fulham come to mind) .

And let's hope the LFC trolls on twitter don't now go on to discredit the club, the way they have done in the past in their behavior the owner and his wife.

Son would be perfect for our team.

It's too late to leave politics out of football, unfortunately.

Where do you think the money for 200 million player transfers is coming from? Ticket sales? Children buying replica shirts and footballs?

Why are PSG and City suddenly global powers in football? Because of their amazing youth academies?

Why is the World Cup in Russia next month? And in Qatar after that? On merit?

Football today is huge money, and huge money is tied to geopolitics.

Thanks, Macca!

I don't understand Tarkowski and Butland to be honest, unless they are relatively cheap due to a release clause.

Fakir and Dembele, though, make perfect sense. We could score potentially 150 goals next season with these two rotating. up front with the three.

Terrible shame. Ox had become an automatic starter in the midfield. An explosive player. He was outstanding against City in the CL.

This is clearly a very serious injury to his knee. It is entirely possible he will come back as good as before. Also entirely possible he will never be the same player.

At this point, the club has to plan for life without him. "Back in December2018", "nine months" etc are all just guesses.

So we very much need to bring in another midfielder now, in addition to Keita.

That first half is when we must blow them away. Has to be a repeat of the City and Roma first leg matches.

The longer the game is played "cautiously" the more it will play into their hands.

This has to be a blitzkrieg.

Nihil temendum est.

I don't think Gerrard has any interest in youth football. I suspect he took that job to be around in case Klopp struggled, and he could parachute in.

Klopp isn't struggling, so Gerrard is moving on. Good for him, and good for the club.

I also thought it was a little odd that, as a current Liverpool coach, he was also a TV pundit commenting on LFC games, saying things like "that's a bad result for Klopp" (I think that was after the FA cup loss) . I don't remember seeing an arrangement of that nature before.

Rafa had David Silva lined up to join LFC ten years ago. The previous administration said "no way, Jose".

Thank goodness we had such knowledgeable people running the club back then. Dodged a bullet. Yup.

I sometimes post on another LFC internet forum.

Last summer I posted on that site that I thought Henry and the owners would sell Coutinho if Barcelona offered 150 million pounds. I said it would be good business.

I also added that I was sick of Coutinho's antics, and wanted him gone.

I was taken aback by the abuse I got. I was ridiculed as being clueless. This included snide comments directed at me by one of the moderators.

When I defended myself, I was given a temporary ban from the site.

It turned out I was just 4 million pounds short, and 4 months early, in my prediction.

So I have learned that LFC fans are a particularly closed-minded, clannish bunch. If you have an opinion that the majority do not agree with, they will bully you.

So I am not the least surprised that Ed002 has been chased away. He was tooth much of an independent thinker, and too knowledgeable, to appeal to the average LFC internet fan.

I love LFC. I wish I could say the same about some of our fans.
