I see the echo are suggesting that Monaco are prepared to lower their price for Lemar this month to force sale. LFC maintain a strong interest in the player but only in the summer so won't be making an offer.

THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

Ed, is there any credence to this report do you think?

{Ed025's Note - no mate..

1.) 10 Jan 2018 10:14:29
They won't sell, if France have a good world cup (which i think they will) then his value will rocket. Personally I think we might move on to an alternative.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 10:19:30
The only thing I can think of is that we’re focussing on trying to get Keita in now and then Lemar in the summer. Who knows?!

Would be gutted if this is an opportunity missed though.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 11:47:16
If we don't buy anyone this window it won't be a problem we have enough to get in the top 4

Migs/ Karius/ Ward
Clyne/ A. Arnold/
Moreno/ Robertson
VanDijk/ Matip/ Lovren/ Klavan/ Gomez
Henderson/ Can/ Wijnaldum/ Milner/ Lallana/ Grujic
Mane/ Salah/ Ox/ Kent/ Woodburn
Firmino/ Sturridge/ Solanke/ Ings.

4.) 10 jan 2018 11:54:49
i would love to see keita come in early but i can't see rbl budging to be fair.

what i do want to see us being mentioned in is the transfers of nabil fekir and thomas lemar. two players i would love at liverpool and two quality additions. can't ponder on fekir as there are a few teams in europes elite after him he will be quality for us. lemar ideally now but we will probably wait until the summer to make the 90 mill plus move.

a keeper is a must! i've seen oblak being mentioned (we have zero chance of this being pulled off) he's got an 100mill release clause and we simply wont pay that! go for donnarumma 25 mill for a gamble yes but the hype is real about this guy.

5.) 10 Jan 2018 13:13:04
Everyone is forgetting Origi.

6.) 10 Jan 2018 14:13:47
I think both Kent and Woodburn should be and most likely will be loaned out to get more playing time.

7.) 10 Jan 2018 22:20:52
I wouldn't call donnarumma a gamble at all.

Hi Ed,
Just a quick one. Have we ever considered Julian Draxler? There seems to be zero talk of him going to anyone at the moment.
Thanks

Red G

{Ed002's Note - No and I don't see him moving this summer now.}

Hi Ed.

I'm listening to Guillem Balague on the SkySports transfer window podcast. He was asked if LFC had any interest in Sanchez. His response was "no. we will be speaking about Liverpool on the next podcast" before giving an ironic chuckle (of sorts)

I recall a previous post about a possible arrival by the end of the week from a Spanish club. Maybe this also supports Macca's post earlier in the window?

Do you know if there's something bubbling for this week? You probably can't share any names or clubs, but based on your info, do you understand if anything is imminent?

Alternatively, tell me if I need to get my coat

Thanks for making January a bit more bearable by the way!

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but you can't expect me to comment on nothing comments from a company that is more interested in stirring up betting markets than objective reporting.}

Ha, if only I’d have known it was Ed001 on duty! Your point is well made of course. Just fishing for something positive. All the best.

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate.}

2.) 17 Jan 2018 08:03:50
Spot on ed. I used to love sly sports for its pure unadulterated fluff sport entertainment until they got into the whole betting thing and whatever credibility it had before was quickly lost when they began offering the current betting odds between stories. on said stories. Can I ask, how can a company get away with this, when they’ve placed themselves in an elevated position to affect and fabricate stories simply for their own gain. Surely there has to be some regulation which sees right through their claims that there’s no conflict of interest.

{Ed001's Note - apparently not as they have been cleared of any wrongdoing.}

3.) 17 Jan 2018 09:25:28
i honestly can't remember when the last time balague got anything right ( that hadn't already been made public)

{Ed001's Note - probably when Rafa was managing us and feeding him info.}

4.) 17 Jan 2018 09:36:18
Look at the list of donors for the party currently in government, your questions will magically disappear.

5.) 17 Jan 2018 10:23:44
Sanchez to Liverpool doesn't make any sense. As good a footballer he is, I wouldn't want us to sign him unless Salah or Mane is leaving. And I hope not.

When the Coutinho deal failed in the summer, I recall multiple outlets claiming that we attempted to line up Thomas Muller as a replacement but couldn't seal that move which meant Klopp blocked PC deal.

Admittedly, im not aware of his current situation at Munich. He is also 28 (I think) . But are the Ed's aware of those enquiries in the summer and if yes, is this a realistic name now?

All the best.

Red G

{Ed002's Note - The offer for Thomas Muller that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge referred to was made in August and it was from another club, not Liverpool. Muller won't be moving this window and the summer at Bayern will be driven very much by a new coach who has to deal with a squad that needs some work with older players, unsettled players, players on loan that a decision needs to be made about and transfers being made at the moment without reference to the coaching staff. I would not hold your breath.}

06 Jan 2018 21:02:00
Hi Ed's

Gutted to lose PC, but we lost Keegan and brought Dalglish, lost Rush brought the 87/ 88 team, lost Torres brought Suarez.

I think we need to see some quick, positive moves. Midfield and Goalkeeper.

Macca: If you are out there buddy, it would be great to hear from you. Don't care about PC now. He's a Barcelona player. Just incomings. I can't believe the transfer would be allowed to go ahead without anyone lined up.

Ed's and Macca: Any positive inside info would be great to receive tonight.

Up the Reds.

Red G

1.) 06 Jan 2018 21:10:57
Actually Red G, we sold Torres and bought Carroll. Suarez was brought in as a partner for Torres.

2.) 06 Jan 2018 21:14:41
Haha. You get my point though Mr Dennis, right?!

3.) 06 Jan 2018 21:27:58
Surely every Liverpool fan knew Torres wanted out a long time before Suarez’s name was even mentioned. he was never going to partner him realistically.

Hi Ed

Your probably sick of the Keita posts, but do you know if there has actually been a third bid yet? Sly sports are suggesting there has but the echo are only saying it's still under consideration. If the third has been lodged and rejected, it's obviously game over. Thanks mate.

Red G

{Ed002's Note - As I have said I am not aware of one.}

1.) 24 Jul 2017 22:18:30
€83m third bid, source is BILD. not sure if that's reliable or not.

2.) 24 Jul 2017 23:34:17
Hope not, we need to step away now.

Baz.

3.) 24 Jul 2017 23:34:52
Bild is like the sun. They post everything to generate views and are know as a really unreliable source in Germany.

Im reading various sources suggesting today that ....

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea why you are raising this on the Liverpool page - it is nothing whatsoever to do with Liverpool. Trty the Manchester United page.}

Good reply Mango. I agree to an extent and would not want an ‘average’ signing to block the path of a potential LFC star from the youth system. I think Pulisic is a better prospect than Wilson though on the basis that he has the raw qualities required to be in a Klopp team. Wilson is scoring spectacular goals but could he play with discipline in a Klopp team where it’s all about the team as a unit?

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see the young lads come through the ranks. But if Klopp were to spend money on Pulisic, you have to trust he sees him as the better option.

Why not sign both?! We have the Coutinho money, this seasons Prem League money plus money from this seasons champs league run. I can see us spending £200 million this window easy.

Excellent post Indian buzzer.

I agree, the first team signings made each window drop to becoming squad players in the next until we have a Klopp squad which just needs a star-quality addition each year and squad replacements for those who leave to play regularly. It’s basically a squad filtration process.

I totally trust Klopp to make the right decisions and hold on for first choice targets rather than spend for the sake of spending. Where we are tempted to criticise, it’s worth remembering there is a plan behind the scenes.

I submitted a bit of a rant on this myself earlier when I read the echo, but in hindsight I think it is probably more of a negotiating tactic to draw Arsenal out then we’ll match the agreed fee rather than be stitched up by Monaco as we have cash in the bank.

So, let’s all pretend to accept our Lemar position and move on I reckon!

Good question. Firstly, we should go all out to get Naby Keita in now I reckon. Beyond that, try and get the long term targets across the line now but if not possible, don’t compromise on the quality just to get bodies in January. if we can’t get Lemar / Pulisic now, we shouldn’t lower our sights for a Mahrez or Lanzini now (for example) .

Better to use what we have, although NK is a must I reckon.
