With unemployment set to rise expect less shirts to be sold over the years. The inflated prices are already a big stretch for a lot of families.
The squad is brilliant, yes not perfect.
This club has to work within a fair financial system or will go back to the bring of being bust.
We should be grateful for the squad we have and get behind it.

After the sending off, I was hoping we would win the game. But fair enough, I am not too unhappy with the result. Things will only get better. A draw coming from behind against the reigning European Champions, cannot be a horrible result. Due to the transfer activity this season, there was always going to be a meltdown. ! Reading some of the posts online, it feels like we lost the game 5-0!

Nope we have players to sell. There should not be a sentimental value here just to cover our obvious shortcomings.
For success you have to be ruthless.
Origi ox minamino philips should have been moved and two first team level players like saul/ bissouma and mallen/ sarr/ should have been bought.
We didn't read the market and priced our players out of a move
We have bombed this window. A lot of options were available U7441909and our players could have been moved.
I am grateful for what we have won but we cannot sit on it, we can still win everything but we are getting caught as our squad is getting stale. We need freshness with players who add a new dimension to our squad.
It looks like we are content with just competing and not hell bent on winning.

Really hard to play against ten men, especially a team who have solid defenders, are really compact, and can turn break-outs into goals. It was a reasonable outcome this evening.

I think that at this point in the season (albeit just three matches) Chelsea are a bit ahead of us, but we will continue to get better and stronger through the season. I still like our chances in the league. If we can get through our group in champions league, I like our chances there as well. I'd like to see two more players though; a midfielder and forward. I understand that we will need to sell some players, but hopefully, we are agressive in the next few days.

Poor against the European Champions and we #till don’t get beaten - not a bad effort. Chelsea are in the top 3 teams in the league (with us and City) and the top dozen in Europe.
We didn’t play well and we can / will improve a good deal. We Afonso have quite a talent playing in the midfield at the age of 18 and a 16 year old playing in the U-23’s.
The future is bright, even if we don’t just go out and spend millions and millions.

Well what a great game. Well done both teams.
I always treated the community shield as a friendly but as guardiola regards it a a trophy i really wanted us to win just to shut him up.
What pleased me today was seeing how good we really can be.
Man we really are a good team. If salah could score, we would be world beaters lol.
No we really are a great team and time will tell if the squad depth is our undoing. Let's hope not.
Amazing time to be a liverpool fan.
Best thing from today is we have got under city noses.
They know they are in for a battle again.
This team will take some stopping and any who does deserves the honours.

Gonna be another interesting season. Possibly the most talented top six teams in history. United added lots of firepower, Arsenal has done well and Chelsea, despite their transfer struggles, ought to be better than last season. City may be better than last year and Tottenham too. Our squad looks ready to compete though. Mane comes back tomorrow!

Ravi123, I fully agree. Cit are well aware of what we are about and how much damage we can do to them and this for the last two years. What we did to them today is nothing new. They know what we are capable of and that we are the ONLY team in the PL that can match them step for step over a whole season.
We are a really good team. We are on the cusp of being a great team. We know it. They know it and so does the whole PL. We are not Kings of Europe by chance. Whether our cover is good enough to help us during the season is still to be seen BUT I am excited for the new season to begin and based on what we saw today (and with Sadio coming back with Bobbie looking sharp and Salah already oozing confidence), we will be in City's faces all season long. Up Da Freaking Reds!

Would reply appreciate your thoughts on silly season, I mean pre season.
I can imagine the rumours pages pick up in activity within a few days of the season finishing.
But particularly for edd2, when do genuine transfer activity info start to become available?
Last season The fabinho transfer came out the blue.
Do you see this as a future trend and is info getting harder to come by?
Finally, if info is leaked, why does it get leaked and by whom.
Apologies if this is a long answer.

I was one of the few that wanted him sold way before he left.
His performances were very inconsistent and when not playing on form he was a liability to the team.
If not a liability he was coming back from injury and would need 3 games to get going.
Yes he had some fantastic games amd that's all fans remember, but he also had many many poor games and many injury lay offs.
Not long term injuries but enough to disrupt his flow.
You can't carry passengers like that if you seriously want to win the title in England.
I said he would get found out in Spain within 6 months and he has.
At Barcelona you pass to messi or step up your game.
Unlike Suarez, he never had it game in game out, to step up.
I wonder what Barcelona were smoking when they paid that ridiculous fee for him.
Prefer man city to get him to be honest.

It would be great to go splashing the cash.
Question is on what area.
We need left and right back. But as they won't play much options will be limited.
For me recruit from within in these areas. Motivation will not be an issue.
We have grucic and ox who can make an impact in midfield and ox out wide.
So midfield is fine.
Up front we look light.
We have Brewster and imo we maybe need a number 10 who can fill both roles.
So not really a lot needs to change.
We need 1 may be or 2 new players and that's it, unless someone leaves.
I would love zaha. But do we need him. Well no. But I prefer us to get him than say man Utd.
If Firmino gets an injury we will be stuffed.
So a number 10 should be the priority.
