So that was a lot of fun yesterday.
Super bizzare (but amazing) to see the city of Ann Arbor painted in red jerseys prior to the match.
Officially not sold out - but it was announced the attendance in the stadium was 101,000 people!
Gotta love Jose heading straight to locker room after the match - as well as all the Manchester fans leaving with 10:00 still on the clock.

I had the pleasure of sitting in the ManU fan area (which was lovely), so I gave everyone a nice wave as they passed us by and headed out the stadium.
So good highlights - kind of cracked up at Ojo giving the shade to Studge to take the second PK! Haha
All-in-all a decent match, might have been a bit more balance had ManU had some more subs.
But in the end, it was a gorgeous day for a match, met new friends from Liverpool to Los Angeles!
Worth every penny.
Cheers follow Reds! let's get this gd season started!

Hello Eds and Reds,

Just wanted to post how excited I am for tomorrow.
My lady and I are headed to Ann Arbor to watch the boys play Man U at the "Big House".
It'll only be the 2nd time I've seen the lads play in person, so I'm extremely grateful I get another opportunity to see them. And this time against the Mancs (and not Olympiakos) . also. there is quite a good possibility that's tomorrow's match may be the record largest crowd to ever watch a match in North America.
Apx attendance should be somewhere around 110,000+ people. 😳
Previous record is/ was ManU v Real Madrid at the same venue about 4 years ago.
Anyway - quite excited and wanted to share. COYR! :)

Enjoy the experience.

2.) 27 Jul 2018 18:40:31
Yes, have a great time mate!

3.) 27 Jul 2018 19:24:25
Sounds amazing, have a blast mate.

4.) 27 Jul 2018 19:43:59
Thank you, my friends.
Really, really excited!

I’ll do my best for a little post-match summary.
But with a potential 6hrs or so of tail-gating, it may have to wait until Sunday.

(Not foreshadowing or anything) :)

5.) 27 Jul 2018 19:49:00
According to the echo it's going to be half empty. Sorry mate.

6.) 27 Jul 2018 20:00:46
HA!
Then I paid way too much for these darn tickets.

7.) 27 Jul 2018 20:16:59
£130 - £315 per ticket no wonder the game is not sold out, should be ove 90k there tho, mancs only got 32k and 21k at their last 2 games.

8.) 27 Jul 2018 20:36:25
OtterControl

Have a great time at the game and hopefully celebrate us beating the Mancs!
Looking forward to watching it myself on tv.

9.) 27 Jul 2018 21:06:50
Have a good time otter mate.

10.) 28 Jul 2018 00:39:37
I know it’s only preseason. but it is versus ManU.
So I’m hoping I can get one — JUST ONE — sideline Klopp fistpump!
Will be worth every obnoxious penny spent.

Thanks again for the support, my friends.
Appreciate y’all!

Good day fellow Reds and Eds,

Pretty enticing weekend match ahead.
Personally, I'd like to see Gini get a start in midfield this wknd.
We're going to need to be disciplined defensively, esp on the counter, but feel we could use his pace.
Curious about everyone's thoughts.
Eds do you rate him as a starter?
(If so -- over anyone in particular? )

Have great one!

OtterControl

{Ed001's Note - no, he is not doing enough to deserve a game.}

1.) 09 Jan 2018 18:56:59
Appreciate the reply Ed001.

2.) 09 Jan 2018 18:58:33
I'm a fan of Gini and seems to do well against the bigger teams. I think seeing as we're likely to be a little more compact than against other teams, Can and Wijnaldum might not be a bad pairing in the middle. I'm not a huge fan of Can and his head might not be totally right at the moment but if they keep as a pair and stay switched on, with Oxlade just in front, they can give the energy we need.

3.) 09 Jan 2018 19:41:54
Our midfield is in a bad way at the moment. Hendo is injured, Can refuses to even show for the ball. And we have no one else capable of playing the holding role effectively. I'd play a flat 3 of Wiji, Milner and Lallana.

If we don't buy a defensive/ holding midfielder this month I'll be surprised. And I'd have to question the clubs ambition for this season.

4.) 09 Jan 2018 19:51:20
Ox, Milner and Gini for me. Lallana isn't fit enough, and Can isn't in the right frame of mind.

We're not going to out play Silva and De Bruyne, but we can out work them. Not many teams try and get at City though. It will be a shock to their system when we turn up and give them a game.

5.) 09 Jan 2018 19:55:17
I’d rather give Lallana 60 odd minutes or even start Can than play milner and gini together. I wouldn’t play milner in midfield in any case.

6.) 09 Jan 2018 21:29:38
Can, Gini and Ox.

{Ed025's Note - for me thats a very weak midfield by liverpool standards squizza, who creates the chances there?, you would be better with ...curly, larry and mo..

7.) 09 Jan 2018 22:21:50
I’m not saying it’s good enough just who I think he will select . definitely a lack of creativity there but don’t see many other options.

{Ed025's Note - i tend to agree squizza mate..

8.) 10 Jan 2018 00:30:31
i’m not a fan of Gini, said it many times on here (on my lost acc) that 75% of the games he plays I don’t even realize he is on the pitch.
don’t get me wrong in the 25% he makes himself known, he is everywhere and does quite a good job. But the rest of the time he isn’t and I don’t like the odds of him showing up against city 😂.

9.) 09 Jan 2018 22:52:55
Personally I'd like to see Lallana, Gini, and Can.
But I have the feeling Klopp will want to give Milner the armband for this match.
So I think we may see Lallana, Milner, and Can again.

Still cracking up at the "larry, mo, curly" comment!
Nice one, Ed025

Feel bad for guys on the bench who never get any game time though.
I know Huey, Dewey, and Lewie are just chomping at the bit to get on the pitch. :)

{Ed025's Note - well you are a mickey mouse outfit otter.. :)

10.) 09 Jan 2018 23:18:03
Oh Comon Ed025 you’ve been against Ox from the beginning. I agree our midfield can improve but even near perfection such as myself can technically “improve” 😋.

{Ed025's Note - to be honest Tj ox has done better than i thought, hes still not top quality but has not let you down yet and thats all credit to him mate..

11.) 10 Jan 2018 14:38:16
Bahhh! Ed025, hilarious! 😂
This is true, just not sure what's stranger to folks.
Trying to shake my hand while I have my giant white gloves on?
Or when they find out my dad is cryogenically frozen?
:)

{Ed025's Note - good stuff mate..

06 Jan 2018 19:37:37
Arguably our best player, gave us some stunning moments, but shirt comes first imo.
Hopefully the levity raises a bit around the club now.
Of course we'll never find a like-for-like replacement.
Fingers crossed that we're wise with next steps/ purchases.
Eds how are some of you feeling overall?
Relieved? Gutted? Ambivalent?
Just curious!
Cheers.

Sorry in advance Eds -- but I just want to address something quickly.
I've seen people giving Lallana stick for his performance tonight -- which I find ridiculous.
He worked his tail off to get back into a position to play again this season, let alone start.
He is going to need games.
A derby match prob isn't ideal for first start, but the lad needs time to find form.

So again, apologies for this post -- just a little upset at the plastic fans feeling the need to slag a player coming off a 4-month hiatus.

OtterControl

{Ed025's Note - rusty but did ok for me OC..

1.) 05 Jan 2018 23:57:37
Spot on, Ed. I thought he showed flashes of brilliance and good touch and skill to draw the penalty. He is clearly rusty and lacks full fitness. I thought he was fine, as well.

2.) 06 Jan 2018 00:06:38
i thought he was pretty decent tonight, lacking sharpness but was pretty tidy on the ball and full of running as usual both on and off the ball. great to have him back and look forward to seeing him at his best soon.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 00:07:32
Won the penalty. Did look rusty AF, but did put a shift in.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 00:11:06
OC, can’t agree with you more la, personally I don’t think Klopp should have thrown him into such a big game from the off, but I tell you what he did as good as everyone else out there tonight, just ran out of steam which you would expect after not playing since last May. Adam will be like a new top signing in a couple of weeks la. Is rite.

5.) 06 Jan 2018 00:11:14
Yeah rusty and the fact he was playing alongside Can and Milner only exacerbated things, he will be an important player for us in this second half of the season once he finds his feet again.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 00:13:01
Hit the nail on the head Ed mate. As he said rusty so get off his back lad's please.

7.) 06 Jan 2018 00:45:48
He's gone back to slow lallana.

8.) 06 Jan 2018 01:34:18
OC-It wasn’t his first start of the season.

9.) 06 Jan 2018 02:45:45
Sorry about that, Cobra.
Appreciate the correction there.
Cheers!

10.) 06 Jan 2018 12:21:46
No idea why people think because a player is back in the team (after a long injury) it means they will be running on all cylinders straight away, how long did it take Hendo to run his rust off from his injury earlier last year? Lallana was out for round about the same amount of time iirc.

Apologies btw. as it’s a Double-knockdown, not KO.
Tommy hops right up.
20 year memory’s a little fuzzy, Ed ;)

{Ed001's Note - it's ok mate, at your age it is to be expected, it will come to us all one day.}
