Just read that coutinho is on 75k, how can you expect to keep hold of great players on that money? Time for a new contract. And a few others.

Poor lad, let's have a whip round 🙂.

2.) 11 Nov 2016 10:43:39
my heart bleeds for him.

3.) 11 Nov 2016 10:45:36
Hahaha Ron, you make me laugh so much!

4.) 11 Nov 2016 10:51:50
He must be struggling on such a wage eh?

5.) 11 Nov 2016 12:47:19
😄

There is a serious point behind my jokey post though. Money is not as big an issue to these players because they are already made for life. I think if Coutinho asks to leave, no amount of wage increase will change his mind. If he wants to play in champions league with another side, I wouldn't begrudge him. He's been a model pro for LFC and for that he has gained unwavering respect from many fans.

6.) 11 Nov 2016 13:47:20
I agree Ron but then next year it's firmino then it's mane, without winning things on a consistent basis this will happen every time we unearth a gem.

7.) 11 Nov 2016 14:25:04
Depends who we replace him with den, if we bring in equal or better quality, players will respond to that and will be more willing to stick with the project, especially when we win the league.

8.) 11 Nov 2016 14:59:21
Exactly my thoughts Ron.

The best way to keep your players in the short term is to be successful on the pitch as in, trophies and constant CL berths. Without these, you are fighting a losing battle as no amount of wages will help you keep a player who is at a failing club.

Coutinho absolutely ran the show at the weekend, I really hope we offered him another contract and do our best to keep him at the club. Looks like he's been practicing corners aswell as 2 goals scored from them and no other player can put in a cross from corner.

Would hurt more than Suarez going I feel : (

The best I'm hoping for is that he agrees a deal with Barcelona in January to join at the end of the season. However, we are a team, we are not reliant on one player, Klopp is building a team which can cope with the loss of such players.

2.) 31 Oct 2016 15:04:47
Suarez nearly carried us to a title. Love Coutinho, but you cannot compare the two.

3.) 31 Oct 2016 15:07:10
Can't see another or extended contract preventing Barcelona from calling. I expect them or psg to offer serious money. It won't be pogba money though he's in a different league altogether
Let's just enjoy this season and have a go at the title. Worry about that stuff next summer.

4.) 31 Oct 2016 16:43:25
I don't think it will be this year, if we get champ league then surely he will want to give it a year.

As much as I agree with you Ron about the team, teams have important players and he is our main man. Firmino is so good up top but couts runs the whole game.

5.) 31 Oct 2016 17:27:00
Let's win the title else it will be Firmino next. All this we are professing, we are improving doesn't fancy to elite players ofcourse unless you offer them mega wages. Liverpool needs to win titles.

6.) 01 Nov 2016 06:43:24
Give him a new contract, he's finally showing the consistency we always hoped for, and while he may ultimately still leave if Barcelona comes calling, we can a least try keep him for as long as possible, or at worst make sure he leaves for absolute top dollar if he insists.

Course it's a bad result, saints offered absolutely nothing and were there for the taking.

I don't see it as a feasible transfer for Barca? What are we talking, 60,70 million? Barcelona don't have attacking problems. Now I'm not saying they don't want him, who wouldn't want him? But I don't see it as a transfer Barcelona will make this summer.

If psg came in for him and we are winning things and in champions league then I don't see why couts would swap here for Paris?

Really like Stewart, well like them all but just can't see how Stewart gets into the team considering he's not actually that young.
