Eds what's the situation with Douglas Costa of Shakhtar Donetsk looks a really good winger?

And also valbuena and griezman have looked really effective coming off the wings and linking play for France this World Cup. Would they be viable options when suarez leaves.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United, Chelsea, Rubin Kazan, Napoli, Arsenal, Roma, Milan, Manchester City and no doubt many others have been interested in Douglas Costa in the past couple of years. He was being hawked around Italy and and Portugal by Cesar Bottega for a year. There were some talks but no offer was made. Shaktar's approach to valuing players is not dissimilar to Porto's approach. Right now the sustained interest of Milan and Manchester United seems to have gone but Roma remain confident a deal can be made. Newcastle has also enquired after his availability.

Seville, Zenit, Arsenal and Newcastle have enquired about Valbuena's availability but it is Valencia who have made an offer for the player and a chance remains of a player-exchange. Marseille are willing to sell this summer and have Batshuayi as a replacement. Marseille have not been approached by West Ham at this time.

Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst Griezmann has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea. Manchester United and PSG had the player watched on more than one occasion and both are looking toward making a transfer happen. Interest from Juventus has gone due to the asking price and Chelsea seem to have dropped their interest. I rather suspect Barcelona may look again.}

Hi eds Charles Aranguiz of Chile had looked really lively this World Cup. Do you know of any interest in him moving from Internacional?

{Ed001's Note - one of the Italian clubs were close to picking him up before the World Cup, I think it was Udinese off the top of my head, but that could be wrong.}

Hi Ed's, if Suarez were to leave to either Barca or Madrid, do you have any idea of who we would target? Perhaps they would change with the excess money in the coffers!

Being linked with Falacao by the same paper reporting on suarez, I don't see how he would play with Sturridge!

{Ed002's Note - If there is interest in Falcao it will be as a replacement for Suarez. I don't see Falcao moviong to Liverpool. I am not aware of any issue Falcao has with Sturridge.}

Ed, is there any interest in either Gaitan I Rodrigo of Benfica? Obviously had good seasons respectively and either would fill our need for a winger.

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica about Gaitan in January 2013 but no bid was made as the asking price was seen to be far too high. Interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Spurs and Arsenal will have waned in the summer. I understand that Benfica also had an approach from Anzhi for Gaitan but the player made it clear he has not any interest in talking to them. Else, I understand that the interest still remains from Manchester United and PSG, but not at the price being asked. He would have been allowed to move last summer but Benfica did not drop their price, so nothing happened. He will sign a new contract at Benfica. I am not aware of any confirmed interest from Liverpool but as an option to other wide players being considered he might be a viable consideration.

Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Zenit have shown an interest in Rodrigo who is owned by a third party rather than Benfica - if Liverpool are looking to him he would be as a replacement for someone else.}

Eds and fellow reds just a thought, albeit unlikely. What about bringing in Tony Pulis as a coach/assistant (part time) just to help organise and sure up the defence. Even if only for 3 or 4 months until a job comes up which is worth taking he comes in and drills the team on a part time basis?

Morning Ed's and all. I was wondering if you had heard anything about interest in Miralem Pjanic, brilliant player deep lying playmaker, could be a long term replacement for Stevie?

Hi eds, for a long time you have said that el Shaarawy could be a viable option if Suarez were ever to leave, or else we wouldn't have the money. Now it looks inevitable that Suarez is off (I know he is injured at the moment) but has he been looked at? 20 goals last year!

Morning all, do we still hold an interest in a new goalkeeper as backup/challenging Mignolet in goal next season. If/when Pepe Reina leaves?
