Someone quoted beefy yesterday, saying form is temporary, class is permanent. The player, for me, that that rings true for, is Danny sturridge.

Mane man

1.) 09 Oct 2018 15:43:43
Naby Kieta! Hands down permanent skill set!

2.) 09 Oct 2018 18:25:55
D-Studge for me, MM. No doubt. He is naturally gifted and the most natural finisher in England right now. Check his goals vs Seville in the EL final or vs Chelsea in both games esp. in the PL game and judge for yourself. Harry Kane is not a patch on him, talent wise. He is the type of finisher Harry Kane wishes he was cos Kane seems to try a bit too hard to score and tends to force things (like shamelessly claiming a goal he definitely did not score) while Studge makes it look easy.

Harry, I humbly disagree. Naby has not proven his worth the same way Studge has BUT he has all the tools necessary to do that.

3.) 09 Oct 2018 21:02:04
I'm not that worried about Keita. I belive we have seen a touch of his class and I think it's pretty clear that he has the ability to be immense in this league. He will find his feet and in 5 years we will be saying this about naby.

Danny has suffered with injury, so much that his career had almost started to fade to obscurity but he has shown his class over this tough gun. His goal at Chelsea means we are joint top. Most players, barring van diike and alisson have been out of form and danny has really helped us through this tough run. That goal at Chelsea could be massive for us, it was worth 2 points in a sense as Chelsea are a rival and we nicked them from them.

He is back in the England squad, I think he will play a big part this season.

4.) 09 Oct 2018 22:42:19
Naby proved every penny in Germany before his move. I have tracked him from 2 good years even before people started noticing him. Not seen another creator like him in a long time. And this me saying highly about one of our player lol.
I love Sturridge. My own Robbie Fowler. His short backlift gives keeper less chance to cover is his trademark. But kieta is one of the best signing for any club! He is bloody awesome! He is the younger version of Mousa dembele plus goals! And that’s extraordinary.

5.) 09 Oct 2018 23:09:37
He is not in Germany now Harry. He is in England and he needs to show what he can do, which I'm sure he will but he hasn't yet.

6.) 10 Oct 2018 00:20:00
Who's hacked Harry's account?

7.) 10 Oct 2018 12:12:58
For DS it should read “fitness is temporary”.

I haven't heard a bad word about shaqiri since that over head kick against utd. What an inspired signing. It's a poster boy signing, for very cheap. It gives us some high level cover in the wide positions but he sort of payed the aoc role yesterday. I wonder if we would have signed him if the ox was fit?

Mane man

1.) 23 Sep 2018 18:08:29
Great question to ponder there. I never understood the moaning here when we was linked to Shaq, and I’m happy we have him and the ox 🐂.

2.) 23 Sep 2018 21:09:21
It’s easy to forget that the ox will come back into this squad, fingers crossed fully recovered. If he was fit then the squad depth would be superb. Can’t wait to have him back playing.

3.) 23 Sep 2018 22:29:41
Same here lfchopeful. Great player, perhaps salah is missing him too?

4.) 23 Sep 2018 22:45:35
Talent has never been in question. Atittude and application were the concerns. So far so good.

5.) 24 Sep 2018 09:55:58
We would still very much sign him if OX was fit. OX plays mostly in middle three shaqiri front three or in the hole.

This would have been such a good year for the OX squad depth would be better than we have right now. its sad.

Looking at Andy Robertson these days, his crossing is top draw. We look really dangerous down the left flank with mane and Robbo. When he signed from Hull there were a few disappointed that we didn't sign mendy.

I'm wondering, would you guys swap Robbo for mendy now? I wouldn't.

Mane man

1.) 19 Sep 2018 20:00:36
Haven't seen enough of Mendy to comment on him, but Robbo's a favourite of mine being Scotland Captain, and he's already had a vardy-esque rise from Queens Park to Champions League finalist, i wouldn't swap him for anyone at the moment.

2.) 19 Sep 2018 20:15:05
Mendy seems a bit erratic, technically good but not disciplined enough to be a truly great defender. Robbo is an intelligent player. Picked his runs well last night, so much he became impossible to predict. Very good. Kept mbappe on some kind of a leash which is more than most lbs manage.

Playing teams with a target man, like spurs or Paris I think is bread and butter for vigil. We are lucky to have him.

3.) 19 Sep 2018 20:39:57
I agree Mane, Robbo over him anyday for me too mate.

4.) 19 Sep 2018 23:42:04
Best in the world.

5.) 20 Sep 2018 04:27:20
both full backs were a little bit inconsistent with their crosses early in the season, especially TAA. but maybe they were just getting back to their paces after the summer break.

but man am i loving the crosses from BOTH sides right now. i like the fact that when we can't go direct with our front 3 or counterattack when opponents play a high line, we have that outlet on both sides. makes it difficult to defend as you can't just pack it in the middle anymore, they need a man out wide to stop the crosses.

Anyone else enjoying the feeling that Liverpool football club are truly back in the big time? Loving it. Haven't felt this positive since the early 90s.

Mane man

1.) 18 Sep 2018 16:51:27
You mean like "this will be our season" feeling?

2.) 18 Sep 2018 17:40:14
No dude he means "this is our season"

There's no hope. We're now a trully top team, they just have to get a trophy to be taken as serious as they are.

3.) 18 Sep 2018 17:54:13
I want the league title. I really think it will open the flood gates.

4.) 19 Sep 2018 07:26:00
Whether we win or not this year, it’s still been a massive step forward to get the squad to where it is now, we are right in the mix at the top of world club football again and fearing for no-one. It’s a sight to behold and I’m loving it.

With moreno probably leaving then, that could leave the door open for Lewis or Gallagher but it could also mean a new signing.

Fair play to Huddersfield, they did a "liverpool of last year on us" didn't give us a minutes rest. The fans were brilliant.

You're bang on guys, I'd rather be 1 0 than 3 3. Our defence was poor before the winter window but now it's class. People don't score against Liverpool unless your name is hazard.

They need to start passing to one another. Fino could have scored if salah had passed. There have been many times that mane should have passed to mo but didn't.

They need to forget about golden shoes, forget about the presure of being "the best front three in Europe" just look for red shirts.

Bournemouth are flying, they could do a "Watford" I tell you, the team that worries me other than city and chelski is wolves. They will be challenging in 5 years, it could be much sooner.

I have a feeling saints will do it. A bit of a Derby, I think ings will click, you're right ed01, their defence needs sorting, sparky is not the man to do it imo, attacking manager.

I see what you mean Welsh, it is a decent theory, it would work and it would have a subtle change on football that would completely change the feel of transfer season as most contracts run until the summer.

But;

I quite like the transfer season, it is mental, everyday we are full of hope as we chase players, are linked with top stars and sign underwhelming players. Near on everybody didn't want AOC but now we love him. I wish he was available for selection, I think fekir was an Ox replacement. We need that driving forward, milner and Keita have a good go but the ox has quick feet and good end product. I think mo salah is missing him big time.

At the end of the day, we don't want players who don't want to be here. They seem to develop bad backs.

Footballers are the modern day circus. These kids leave home at 12 and never really settle in one place. They are constantly travelling with the circus from match to match. Let's not make them prisoners.
