Hi all, haven't been on in ages.

Eds is there any interest in Matteo Darmian from Torino? Think he and Flano could more than solve the right back problem for the foreseeable future. He's also MUCH better than Montoya who I really do not rate at all.

Cheers

Liam1892_

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but not from Liverpool.}

1.) 12 May 2015 15:28:18
Chelsea then ed to replace ivanovic if he doesn't sign

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has an interest if Ivanovic doesn't extend, but they have already agreed a move for a young right back this summer and have a couple of others on the books. I suspect Ivanovic will agree the extension - but nothing is signed just yet.}

Alright Eds, haven't been on in a while due to how well we're playing (so there's been no need for me to moan) but I've seen us linked with Richards today and was just wondering what you made of it? I think and hope we'll let Johnson go after the World Cup to be honest and he'd be a good replacement if he can stay fit, can play CB as well. Also, any interest ever shown from us in Lallana? Cheers lads top job

Liam1892_

{Ed001's Note - I think it is nonsense, his wages are ridiculous, he is never fit and has an awful attitude. We have shown plenty of interest in Lallana, he has rejected a move to us twice before now.}

08 Feb 2014 01:18:26
Eds, what is Adam Lallana's current situation, what clubs are interested in him and are we one of them? Love to see him sign for us. Cheers lads

Liam1892_

{Ed001's Note - happy to stay where he is for now.}

12 Nov 2013 21:06:46
We're being linked with a move for Jay Rodriguez. Any substance to this Eds? I'd welcome it, boss little player and better than Aspas. {Ed001's Note - as far as I know, it is just an old rumour regurgitated as we had interest in him before he joined Southampton.}

I'm going to be slated now for passing this on, but rumours on twitter say that now Chelsea have dropped their interest in Rooney, Jose wants Suarez and is more than happy to insert Juan Mata into a deal. Just passing on what I know

Hi Eds, ...............

Liam1892_

{Ed002's Note - Try the European pages Liam - nothing to do with Liverpool.}

05 Feb 2016 11:51:06
Eds,

Any teams keeping tabs on Real Madrid's Mariano? He looks quite the striker, scoring all kinds of goals for Castilla and top scorer in Segunda B!

Liam1892_

{Ed002's Note - You need the Real Madrid page Liam. This is the Liverpool page.}

1.) 05 Feb 2016 12:32:48
I kind of meant as an option for us, sorry! Got my manager looking over my shoulder you see.

{Ed002's Note - No Liam, Liverpool will not be signing him, he has signed an extension in Spain.}

Right here's my take on the Center Back enigma for those who're interested.

Just like to state that if Rodgers thinks it's a matter of Lovren/Sakho to partner Skrtel rather than Skrtel/Lovren alongside Sakho then I have no sympathy for the man when he loses his job. Stubborn and quite frankly idiotic team selections should cost him, he's got nowhere to hide this season; if all goes wrong he could be gone by Christmas.

Take a step back, Sakho is quite clearly our best defender. He may look like Bambi on ice, but all those with any idea about the game know that in fact, he isn't. He's an absolute monster and decent at playing it out from the back.

Skrtel if you ask me whilst a tremendous servant for the club has ridden his luck his entire time here, better managers than we've had over the past couple of years would have binned him straight off by now and that includes Rafa, who bought him. He's always been a defensive liability even at the best of times and the mind truly boggles at how you can be a Center back at supposed top level, yet so inconsistent that it isn't even funny. For a supposed 'hard man' defender any striker with a bit of weight behind them can completely embarrass him in the air, one of the only defenders I've ever seen to be better at attacking corners than defending them. In addition he shows no willingness to learn tactically (or he might just be unable, who knows) and repeats the same mistakes he always has done.

Lovren is a tricky one. When he joined I'll admit like most people I thought he was perfect for Liverpool, pricey, but exactly what we needed after losing Agger and I was excited to see him presumably partner Sakho. So frustrating however because it just wouldn't work last season for him, usually next to Skrtel but I think we'd be stupid not to give him another go, ideally next to Sakho and especially the price we paid for him. I believe now with a season to settle in and a decent holding midfielder (Emre) bossing it in front of him then he can ultimately offer more than Skrtel does

To conclude, we've leaked goals rather embarrassingly since Rodgers came to the club three years ago and does it not worry anyone else that he's never seemed that bothered about addressing it? Daniel Agger as injury prone as he was should never have been forced out and allowed to leave, especially for buttons.
Sakho is our best defender and at the moment he should have the defence built around him, with Lovren and Skrtel competing for the right sided berth. Given the money spent already and 'depth' in the position, there's no chance of a top centre half joining us this window, so I expect Rodgers to continue playing Skrtel and Lovren and get himself sacked to be honest. But if it was me I'd purge our centre back ranks and leave us with;

Top right sided CB. Höwedes, someone of that ilk.
Sakho.
Lovren.
Gomez.
Ilori.

Sorry for the essay but this has concerned me for years, and knowing Rodgers I know that he's too thick and too stubborn not to change it. Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to the season and a new look Liverpool. YNWA

Defending is uncoachable, remember, according to the Tactical Genius.

2.) 02 Aug 2015 12:09:18
Essex
Did you ever had a chance to meet BR? I bet you stay away😂😂😂😂

3.) 02 Aug 2015 13:06:49
Harry I hope I don't as I don't fancy doing time! It's even more disappointing as in 13/14 I think we all hoped he really was the new Paisley or Shanks. It's now very clear he's a complete charlatan and the form of Suarez driving the front 3 or 4 forward papered over lots of faults.

4.) 02 Aug 2015 13:36:04
I agree. But claiming any of our defenders are 'an absolute monster' is praising them way too much. Our defenders can't defend,,, they are ALL average at best

5.) 02 Aug 2015 13:50:48
Liam has covered all the bases. BR is incompetent and just incapable of fixing a defence because he thinks it is not part of his job. How he got the job is now becoming a mystery, IMO.

6.) 02 Aug 2015 14:13:03
Post of the summer, literally smashed the nail on the head

7.) 02 Aug 2015 16:57:46
BR will sort the defenders out this summer.
He has been a professional manager/coach for 2 decades
I think he will literally embarrass some of the posters on this site with his obvious ability. We will storm the title this season and a lot of people will have to change their usernames or admit they were badly wrong.

Llovren will turn it around. Clyne and Gomez bring fresh impetus to the defence and I have high hopes for Llori too.

8.) 03 Aug 2015 01:05:33
That must be sarcasm, Ron because all you posted was quite funny.

Summer ins/outs;

Out:
B. Jones, Johnson, Toure, Gerrard, Lambert, Balotelli, Borini.

In:
Ryan (backup GK), Danilo, Khedira, El Shaarawy, Vietto, Ings.

Liam1892_

1.) 06 Mar 2015 15:13:31
@Liam, from your list I'd keep Kolo Toure and in terms of your Ins I'd imagine we are likely to get Ings but none of your others.

Also what would we want El Shaarawy for? Serious question.

2.) 06 Mar 2015 16:07:59
U want 3 strikers??? For what? The reserve team?
I would take Vietto and Ryan out of that list. The rest are either not needed or not good enough. I would keep Toure out of that list. The rest will not be missed. People really need to stop having such high expectations in the transfer windows as far as LFC are concerned. The club nearly breached FFP rules and care needs to be taken to ensure such a situation does not arise again.

{Ed002's Note - The club may already have done it again.}

3.) 06 Mar 2015 17:14:05
I'd say likely departures would be.

B. Jones
K. Toure.
J. Enrique.
G. Johnson.
Lucas.
I. Aspas.
L. Alberto.
F. Borini.
R. Lambert.
M. Balotelli (if he can be sold, wouldn't be surprised to see him with us until the January window though).

We still have players such as.

T. Illori.
D. Origi.
A. Wisdom.
Plus Flannaghan still has to return.

Any purchases I think will be in keeper and striker department.

4.) 07 Mar 2015 02:32:21
I agree with your departures except for Lucas. I'd add a backup keeper (Ryan?), a proven young striker to replace the strikers (Vietto/Ings or hopefully even Lacazette?) and a strong defensive/box to box midfielder (someone like Milner, Khedira, Schneiderlin, Carvalho who can really lock down the defence but also attack when required).

I think Hendo is a natural selection in midfield, but Lucas and Allen can both be a little inconsistent in form (especially going forward), while Can is still young/developing and I also like the option of playing him RCB if required. A really strong midfielder would fill out the side nicely.

5.) 07 Mar 2015 07:20:39
Ed2 how have the club nearly already have done it again!!??

{Ed002's Note - So far, by spending far more than they bought in.}

6.) 07 Mar 2015 11:13:31
Ed why say again? because they didn't break it last year, which was revealed not too long ago.

{Ed001's Note - actually they did break it, but it was just an improvement over previous seasons. So please don't be ignorant.}

7.) 07 Mar 2015 14:34:39
Then the had better be ver careful with what they are doing right now because based on what the ED is saying regarding FFP, we are only on probation.

{Ed002's Note - The figures UEFA have recently considered were for the ending with the 13/14 season. UEFA accepted, after investigation, the two costs attributed to previous work on the stadium as allowable costs for FFP whereas only one lot of costs would have been allowed. That is how Liverpool got through by the skin of their teeth. The costs associated with the spending spree last summer will be submitted as part of this seasons figures to UEFA. At the very least Liverpool will be under investigation again and I suspect the club will be looking to sell players between the end of the season and June 30 this year in order to offset the costs. That will allow the club to look to do their buying after July 1.}

8.) 07 Mar 2015 23:48:52
Here`s to hoping we r not found guilty.

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool could sell some surplus between the end of the season and June 30 I would think the problem will pretty much go away redohio. Going forward there will be increased commercial revenue and then the new television money kicking in the season after that. A number of European sides are looking to pan-European football magistracy (who meet March 19/20 and not 20/21) to recommend to UEFA that a cap is introduced for television/media income as the new deal favours the English sides even more. There have been several meetings to try and agree a commercial income cap which would hit all of the leading English sides amongst others but a figure remain to be agreed (although it looks like a figure in the €105M to €120M range will eventually be agreed on). I suspect that Liverpool willagain be under investigation next season and it would be a real foul up by the club if the house is not in order by then.}

Reus is believed to be main target, we just need to convince Dortmund to sell. We DID enquire about Falcao but Monaco told us he's off to Real Madrid so that won't happen, we've followed nothing up on Bony so he's nailed on for Tottenham.

Cannot wait for the season to start now, here's to another superb one lads!

Ward is an exceptional keeper and so complete for his age, deserves a go as he definitely isn't worse than what we have. Sent shivers down my spine when Klopp 'backed' Mignolet so I hope its just a ruse to prevent his performances dropping, again. I'd be made up if we signed Leno or Butland don't get me wrong, I just think it'd be criminal to completely overlook Ward.
