Moreno and Mignolet back, the ball ends up in the back of the net 5 times, forget that VVD thank god were signed that new lad VAR (all the fans kept singing his name)

Joking aside, apart from the two mentioned above we are a good side
The issue is our tactics against these "lesser" sides, we struggle to break them down as a lot of our goals come from counter attacks where we end up outnumbering the opposition defence

We are unable to play with width as we set up all wrong to attack the crosses

Here's a novel idea : let these teams have more of the ball and just counter attack them?

I don't know man, i really don't think klopp tells the players to pass the ball slowly around the forcefield that is the oposition oenalty box. I think the players need to back themselves more and play the ball ti the forwards' feet around the box and create 1-2s and angles that way. We nit patient enough.

2.) 28 Jan 2018 02:17:12
Problem is we are BUILT AND COACHED as COUNTER PRESSING TEAM.

We have got lots of legs (runners) in the team who are coached to harry and press opposition players.

but once the opposition sits back our players lack quality or intelligence neither have help from our manager who looks confuse on sidelines and continues to play narrow and looks very stubborn w/ he's philosophy 🙈🙈.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 03:21:30
The incentive to play 1-2's has to come from the midfield, and we have got away from our poor quality in the middle of the park for too long. Coutinho was a good player but for me he was so direct and almost selfish he never really seemed like the solution to opponents like west brom, whereas players like iniesta, silva, verratti and ozil do. They understand the intricacies of unlocking defences through clever passing movements of the ball. Can and Wijnaldum are no good defensively or offensively. Now wijnaldum was bought by klopp and is unlikely to leave, so maybe some time out of the team would be good for him. Can just baffles me. We knew he would be off in the summer, and klopp was the one who wasnt keen on him in the first place, so WHY is he being relied upon, with no replacement, despite klopp not wanting him here, himself not wanting to be here, the fans on his bac. How this hasn't been sorted out, particularly considering the injury concerns of lallana and henderson, is shambolic management in my eyes. He has been here for years and i honestly do not see why people are upset about him moving to Juventus.

Thig is, we can beat these lower teams. We've been doing it all season. So to me its just confidence and trust.

I would not hold your breath waiting for a "Coutinho Repacement"
I believe Salah was bought to fill the Coutinho position in the front 3 and Keita + AOX are replacements for his positon in the midfield 3

Also I think we have already spent the funds from the Coutinho sale with these 3 players and VVD

Klopp is hoping to raise additional funds from the sale of Sturridge and Origi to buy another attacking forward

I believe we are on the look out for a cheap option for a goalkeeper (e. g. a good number 2 looking to move and challenge our current 2 keepers for the still undecided no1 spot)

Leam Red

{Ed002's Note - That would be three number 2 GKs, a number three and a number four - plus the youngster who is listed in the Champions League squad.}

1.) 09 Jan 2018 12:13:11
Klopp wants 38 keepers Ed. One for every game of the season to keep them fresh.

2.) 09 Jan 2018 13:49:17
LOL!
The LAST thing we need is a cheap not-quite-good-enough-to-be-number-1 'keeper, we have them coming out our ears.

3.) 09 Jan 2018 14:43:26
How do you know Klopp is selling Origi, OP?

26 Jul 2017 09:13:28
Is the first domino about to fall?

Neymar to PSG
Will trigger
Coutinho to Barcelona
Will trigger?
Keita to Liverpool

Looks like we have learnt our lesson from the Suarez / Sanchez debacle,
We need to line up a replacement before we sell our prized asset.

1.) 26 Jul 2017 09:16:12
You know this because you work on the transfer committee yeah?

2.) 26 Jul 2017 09:43:07
Chill out barrmun he's asking the question and it's not hard to see what he says is possibly going to happen.

3.) 26 Jul 2017 12:24:20
Barrmun the guy is clearly suggesting a theory of his not claiming that he knows.

4.) 26 Jul 2017 12:46:12
The transfers have absolutely nothing in common with each other.
Coutinho isn't for sale.
Keita isn't for sale.
No need to cry because I'm calling it out for what it is.
The theory is about as believable as the world is flat.

If you actually bothered reading what the eds reply you'd know this.

Keita looking even more unlikely to happen now that Emre Can has decided to stay
Can't see an official approach for VVD or any other CB until a buyer is found for Sakho
Looks like we have settled on Robertson as our LB (imagine Milner will start the season as first choice LB)

Can and Keita play completely different positions. The two matters are completely unrelated. Can is competition for Hendo, Keita will start ahead of Gini most likely as a B2B midfielder.

i guess next season we will see premiership teams ditching the 4-2-3-1 in favour of the 3-5-2 line up judging by the success had play teams deploying this formation in the Euros
Just as last season the 4-3-3 was ditched by most teams.

Leam Red

1.) 02 Jul 2016 22:22:25
4-2-2-2 is the way to go like our greatest sides and the incredible Brazil 82 team.

2.) 03 Jul 2016 08:04:02
Brazil used 3-5-2 in 2002 and had no problem winning the WC, winning every game they played. I've always loved this formation and the last team to use it to perfection wast the Costa Rica team of 2014 with Kaylor Navas in goal. They showed that if you have the right player personnel, you can succeed with it. Italy played it well too because Lippi used it a lot while Conte played at Juve and Dino Zoff used it at Euro 2000 again, where Conte was a starter. Hence as Juve coach, Conte used it and Allegri now does the same so the transition was seamless.

Transfer policy has been joke for many years
All this buying mediocre players has to stop

Policy should be 1-2 players each year that are genuine talents and will actually make a difference and improve the first team (not squad)

£25m of Moreno and Clyne are they really better than flannagan and smith?

If the spine of the team is strong you can afford to throw in 1-2 youngsters

In the past it seems the transfer committee have bought players just for the sake of it or simply to justify their existence or just use up the money because it was made available

Bonkers really.

He looks good going forward but can't defend
Has been at fault for far too many goals.

Best as in what he brings to the fans, players, club, press and wider public compared to his predecessors
- hope and exciting football for the fans
- belief, improvement/ development and level playing field for the players (no favourites / bigger than the club players)
- sound financial squad dealings and promotes structure of club for future stability for the club/ owners
-engaging and adored by the press
- respected and admired by rival fans and the non LFC public

As far as success in terms of trophies is concerned, let's wait and see at the end of his time at the club.

UB that's is exactly how I saw the game and how I feel about
However I would add the Klopp is not without blame
At 2-1 we were under the kosh due to Bournemouth's tactical changes - shuffling the back 4 and more direct up top with Ibe and Fraser
Even our 3rd goal was against the run of play
And we still looked all over the place
Instead of giving lallana a little "run around" should have brought on klavan for mane and pushed Lucas next to Henderson

Sometimes I think klopp gets swept away with the emotion of the game as a spectator would rather than a manager
He rarely makes tactical changes when things are not working - feels like he has blind faith in his pre-set tactics
I rarely see him consult with his back room staff apart the occasional hug and chest bump

Just an observation not a klopp out rant
Still the best manager we have had in the last 25+ years.

Virgil Van Dijk for me
We need to get him before mourinho puts in an absurd bid.

One positive was the pass to Can for the goal
I am not sure if he meant it or even saw Can coming into the box or was just a hopefully ball into the danger area as there were several palace defenders near the ball but just showed more desire to get there

Negatives, at 2-1 in the last 5 mins was left stranded upfield and out of position
Last ditch flying tackles with the wrong leg trying to hook the ball, these types of tackles are reckless and can easily result in penalties or red cards
Not closing down and preventing crosses
Turning his back on attackers
The most annoying part of his play is the flinging himself to the ground once he has been caught fannying about on the ball and is about to lose possession and then tries to buy a free kick from the lightest of touches

I am not sure he has improved enough to warrant a place in the team
He is not really a youngster either 23-24.

Couldn't agree more
Even his pressing is often at the wrong time
He tends to go charging off on his own from too far away
Leaving a dangerous gap behind and often doesn't even get close to the opposing player still allowing him to make the pass he wants or an even more dangerous pass into the space Lallana has just created

From afar it looks like he is working hard
, chasing down players but when it is ineffective pressing he just looks like a headless chicken.
