Away from the coutinho vvd and keita dribble that has been going on day in day out for christ knows how long now, does anybody no what's happening with young danny ward? Had an amazing season with Huddersfield last season getting them promoted to the prem only to be 3rd choice back up to migs nd karius this season? Surely this isn't any good for his progression. If he not going to get the chance with us yet will another loan be on the cards? Seems a shame to see a bright young keeper of his calibre.

LFCerroll

{Ed002's Note - He wants assurances or will look to leave.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 16:06:39
He's earnt a starting place, imo. What's the point in being third-choice keeper irrespective of the form of Karius and Mignolet? It must be frustrating to watch both Karius and Mignolet underperform and not get a look in.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 16:28:10
Without a doubt Ward should get a chance - not just reacting after another shaky migs performance but both migs and karius have made several mistakes and too often have looked unconvincing. When Ward did get a game, he came out his box quickly and looked commanding and made an worldie save that went viral - he took his chance and i really hope he gets more game time and soon. It made sense to start migs at watford as had a strong end to season but again under performed so give Ward should get a game and migs couldn't really complain. I predict Ward cements no. 1 spot by end of season.

3.) 14 Aug 2017 16:42:29
I personally think ward is slightly ahead of the other keepers. Admittedly I've not seen him play much but from what I've seen he does the basics better than the others .
He also has great saves in his locker which I think the others can't be trusted upon to make.

4.) 14 Aug 2017 16:43:42
I'd like to see Ward start tomorrow night. For every bit of good Mig or Karius do I spend the rest of the game like a bag of nerves anytime the ball goes near them. However I don't think he's in Klopps plans for some unknown reason.

5.) 14 Aug 2017 17:03:21
Is the chance of a loan to Huddersfield still on?

6.) 14 Aug 2017 17:18:45
We'd be foolish to let Ward go out on loan again and even more foolish to not give the lad game time. We've been crying out for a goalkeeper for number of years now and we've had one on the books the whole time in Ward!

{Ed002's Note - Huddersfiel don't need him now.}

7.) 14 Aug 2017 17:22:42
I can't understand why we choose to keep 3 average keepers on our books similar in standard.

Most top sides have 1 × Top Goalkeeper, an undoubted first choice. 1 × Experienced back up not expecting to feature much and 1 x young star with potential to be no.1 one day. The top keeper plays 95% of games in a season.

Sell 2 of ours and buy 1 top Premier League keeper.

I'm sure we could have got Kasper or Butland this Summer.

Mignolet was poor again on saturday.

8.) 14 Aug 2017 17:25:48
Isn't he injured- back issue?

9.) 14 Aug 2017 20:55:56
He seems to have done very well at Aberdeen and Huddersfield and every time I have seen him he looks quality. He will have been under a lot less spotlight and scrutinised a lot less, it's tough at a big club but he must be worth a go? I do however work with a Huddersfield fan and he likes him but said he doesn't think he is good enough for Liverpool, only one mans opinion but he's watched a lot more of him than I have.

10.) 14 Aug 2017 21:12:10
We signed karius as first choice keeper and the "fans" got on his case as soon as he made a mistake. Then complain constantly about migs being back in goal. Now want ward in goal after a season in the championship?

11.) 14 Aug 2017 21:40:45
What is his ball control like? Never actually seen him play where he recieves loads of pass backs from defenders

Several games lately our defenders seem to think that passing the ball back to migs in the center of the goal with power is a great idea. Every time it happens it’s proper squeaky bum time but he seems to be doing well at controlling the ball. Could ward handle it?

12.) 14 Aug 2017 23:43:43
Ward should get a shot. Mings isn't working. Ed said earlier that mings was too nice and that makes sense eh? They ding listen to him or they don't help him enough. Ward form last year has to get him a chance.

13.) 15 Aug 2017 08:08:58
Why not give karius a run in the team?

The fact is migs should have been offloaded with ward as number 2 this season to karius.

14.) 15 Aug 2017 08:34:58
We should have sold Mings and let Karius and Ward fight for the No. 1 spot. Get someone with plenty of experience as a third choice in so he can help them two develop.

15.) 15 Aug 2017 11:13:56
It wouldn't be fair to put Ward or Karius behind that defence.

Not only the defence, in fact we have a full team problem dealing with set pieces.

A goal scored from a set piece puts the shits up the defence; we have to then attack the ball chasing the result, leaving more gaps behind.

I think, Where possible the captain of the team should be a centre half.
As they would be resposible at set pieces at both ends.

30 Jul 2017 18:01:17
Looks like clyne will miss start of season with back injury. Do you think milner will start at RB or does klopp have enough faith in young trent to give him the start?

LFCerroll

1.) 30 Jul 2017 18:27:07
neither. Gomez will start there based on what clop said yesterday and his performance.

2.) 30 Jul 2017 18:30:23
Has to be Trent, nothing against Milner but Trent needs a run of games to prove that he can be the teams first choice RB.

3.) 30 Jul 2017 18:32:21
Just read that TAA is training seperately to everyone else on a specific program to make sure he's in prime condition. I would assume that means Klopp is looking to him for rb. Although he could turn to Milner still obviously. Personally think TAA deserves a chance.

4.) 30 Jul 2017 18:32:30
TAA for me as yr post stands. Has Milner done RB for Lpool? Is it standard understanding on here that Milner will slot in no probs. Just curious is all ✌.

5.) 30 Jul 2017 18:55:26
TAA for me.

6.) 30 Jul 2017 18:57:38
Have southampton not got a rb we can buy?

7.) 30 Jul 2017 19:22:20
It's going to be Gomez at RB.

8.) 30 Jul 2017 20:03:44
Taa will do well there but klopp may want to protect the lad from the insane pressures of premiership. Ya know, a couple of mistakes and he is doomed to play for sunderland in perpetual twilight. Milner is good for solid cover there, obviously right footed so would be fine. got to give the youngster a chance though. I remember another promising youngster who started his senior career at Liverpool at RB. Whatever happened to him? ;didn't he win the European cup?

9.) 30 Jul 2017 20:04:16
Let's all ask square tomato, he should know! 🤔.

10.) 30 Jul 2017 20:04:17
Clyne's injury could very well see him drop down the pecking order as Gomez or TAA could show to be capable of producing better results at RB.

11.) 30 Jul 2017 20:11:45
personally i think its TAA if i recall right he played against united last season at rb so hopefully he should be up to the job i think he is and someone said earlier if we are lucky he pushes clyne out.

12.) 30 Jul 2017 20:22:51
Gomez, Klopp said in an interview he'd cover the full back positions as TAA is offensively ready to start but defensively still has to improve a lot.

13.) 30 Jul 2017 21:24:34
I thought Gomez looks better defensively. TAA definatelyou at some point during the season but I'm not sure if it should be straight away.

14.) 31 Jul 2017 00:50:43
Flanagan's been getting some minutes in friendlies, long shot but maybe he's in contention, anyone know how he's been getting on?

15.) 31 Jul 2017 01:44:30
I think Klopps reasoning is that the youg lads have a way higher level of attacking play tha they do defending play, its to be able to attack while being always aware of your position in case of a counter attack .
Easier said than done I think.
He also mentioned about them working on processing the ball quicker while attacking.

16.) 31 Jul 2017 03:06:39
From Klopps comments, guessing Gomez will be playing, as I'm sure he'll want to be sure we're defensively solid first game out. I'd expect Milner to start LB rather than throwing in Robbo deep end.

17.) 31 Jul 2017 16:37:05
I would prefer TAA as he offers more going forward but I will understand if Klopp goes with Gomez at least to assure that we are defensively sound from the jump. I do think we have enough quality to get at Watford even if Gomez does not offer more going forward.

21 Jul 2017 15:05:53
Sevilla interested in sakho according to ssn. Not at price we want for him so maybe on loan.

LFCerroll

1.) 21 Jul 2017 17:58:03
Perhaps Southampton is looking for a CB?

2.) 21 Jul 2017 22:28:48
We should tell them where to go. Sale or nothing.

19 Jul 2017 13:27:59
Robertson to have medical tomorrow. All the best young man. let's hope he proves all the nay sayers wrong.

LFCerroll

1.) 19 Jul 2017 15:24:35
Really happy about this signing, the kid is needed and I believe he will be a massive boost to the team.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 15:41:16
Makes me laugh all the negative players on here that don't want him but most of them were crying out for chillwrll last year who would of cost more money, had no or little prem experience and had never seen him play. I must be honest I'm not excited about the signing because of you want to challenge at the top you have to challenge for the top players and you haven't seen the likes of Man City/ Utd, Chelsea, arsenal of spurs interested. But I for one want to see the lad to well and hopefully he can knuckle down and prove some of his doubters wrong.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 15:49:52
People not players.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 17:10:10
Pegleg, of the fee was £25m I reckon you would change your tune suddenly. No one else was interested in Salah, we paid massive sums for him.
Too many people look at the price and think it reflects the quality, it doesn't. Hyypia is proof.
Robertson is a young LB with Prem Experience and a full international. What he offers to our team is worth far more than £8m, I would say the value of having a proper LB outweighs the value of another forward player (Salah) but that's not how it works. You pay what you pay on a deal by deal basis. Ridiculous to state he isn't good enough for United, City, Tottenham. The fact that 3 of those don't need a LB doesn't seem to have into your realisation. I'm sure he was linked with United a season or two ago.
I think he will be a great signing, adding a lot of balance to our back line.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 17:40:48
Considering the deal for Stewart would be for around half the fee of Robertson, I think we're doing splendidly. 23 YO Scottish international with a left boot for circa 5-6 million.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 17:39:39
Absolutely.

7.) 19 Jul 2017 18:11:04
Would you buy Morata for £75m? Stones for £50m? Walker for £55m? Barkley for anything?

Yes those clubs have it dead right?! NOT.

8.) 19 Jul 2017 19:42:53
All I know is that I'll be that pretty much every full back in the premier league won't want to face Mane and Salah. Jeez is Salah rapid. I thought Mane was quick!

9.) 19 Jul 2017 20:54:20
Anfieldandy I'm actually begging the signing I'm just stating that if you want to compete at the top you need to compete with the top and go for the likes of Mandy or if you want potential then tiernay. But he's an improvement on what we've got so I'll get behind him. My post was more to point out people aren't happy if he signs but the same people wanted chillwell who would of cost more and would've been more of a gamble.

10.) 19 Jul 2017 21:16:26
Behind the signing not begging!

11.) 19 Jul 2017 23:10:49
Anfield Andy this is not the place common sense and reasoned discussion, get a grip.

12.) 20 Jul 2017 11:54:08
Pegleg I can’t take any of your posts seriously. Check your spelling before posting 😂😂

Andy was spot on above in regards to the teams you mentioned DO NOT need a LB, but have looked at him in the past still.

17 Jul 2017 14:17:17
Reading newcastle willing to offer 10 million for Ojo! Anyone else heard this?

LFCerroll

1.) 17 Jul 2017 14:38:52
I read this somewhere earlier but think it unlikely. A loan maybe but seems illogical to sell.

{Ed001's Note - the lad doesn't see a future for himself at Liverpool, he would prefer a permanent move.}

2.) 17 Jul 2017 14:40:23
It would be a good move for him if he'd be playing week in week out. I'm hoping it doesn't happen though.

3.) 17 Jul 2017 14:50:39
The article said Newcastle considering permanent transfer as they keep getting rejected for a loan deal.

4.) 17 Jul 2017 14:54:50
ed001 would a 'buy back clause' (or similar) be an option if he did go on a perm move?

{Ed001's Note - no idea.}

5.) 17 Jul 2017 15:08:27
I doubt Newcastle would have the same interest if there was a buy-back clause. Not at £10m anyway.

6.) 17 Jul 2017 16:47:13
I would snap their hands off if they offered £10m.

7.) 17 Jul 2017 17:13:55
Why buy solanke and sell ojo? Seems mad to me. The lad (ojo) could become one of world's best. Not surprising he wants to move with solanke coming in ahead of him in pecking order. We are going to regret selling him one day.

{Ed025's Note - "could become one of the worlds best"??,and i could be elected the next pope... come on mate get a grip will you..

8.) 17 Jul 2017 17:31:59
I'm with EpicPotato from Ojo's perspective somewhere where he plays and develops is good but he has a lot of talent and it would be mad to let him go.

9.) 17 Jul 2017 17:32:45
Are you catholic ed025?

{Ed025's Note - i am ron but not a practicing one..if i went to confession i would be in there for about 3 weeks mate.. :)

10.) 17 Jul 2017 18:21:18
We've had several academy players that were being touted as future stars - Ojo and Branagan were especially well spoken of 2 summers ago. Why are they failing, so far, to convert their potential, Eds?

{Ed025's Note - it can be a number of factors rob, the money and fame go to some of their heads, some just stagnate and some find distractions like women, booze etc get in the way..it was women and booze with me mate.. :)

11.) 17 Jul 2017 18:48:12
Superred-There is more chance of me winning a big duck contest in the NBA than Ojo becoming one of the worlds best!
Also Solanke plays in a different position to him and looks a better talent, Ojo couldn't make the u20s starting line up!

12.) 17 Jul 2017 19:45:53
let's have it right, I'd have loved to see Ojo succeed as much as anyone, fact is he hasn't shown enough and we can ill afford him the opportunity to grow in the 1st team next season. The lad will get every opportunity at a lesser club and he should go for it. Fair play to him.

13.) 17 Jul 2017 20:06:21
Am i missing something with Ojo? I saw him a few times at Wolves and saw very little to get excited about.

14.) 17 Jul 2017 20:11:50
One of the worlds best?

15.) 17 Jul 2017 21:50:41
Ojo was rated very highly a couple years back. His injury issues have set him back. I still like to think he could make it but he has to want to. He looked very tentative when he first came back from injury but was starting to push on towards the end of the season

And I doubt his wanting to leave has anything to do with Solanke but probably more to do with the club going for Brandt.

16.) 17 Jul 2017 22:21:49
Ojo is class. He's effortless, that's how you can tell how good he is. Like Digger, he just glides around the pitch.
If you doubt his ability, look at how he mugged Stoke defenders in the premier league in 2015/ 16.
He had injuries last season.

It would be more of a mistake to lose Ojo than it was to lose Suso.

17.) 17 Jul 2017 22:23:48
Difficult for him to perform and earn a chance while out injured for so long. Likewise with England under 20s you could argue he did well to make the squad considering how little he'd played with injury. People are quick to shoot down the youngsters.

18.) 17 Jul 2017 21:33:19
Who did you play for ed025.

{Ed025's Note - i wish i could say someone big ravinoge, but truth is the highest i played was for willaston in the west cheshire league mate..

19.) 17 Jul 2017 19:21:47
The booze explains some of the comments I suppose.

{Ed025's Note - how very dare you jezza.. :)

20.) 17 Jul 2017 22:48:58
Booze and women, potent ingredients. So, do you think Ojo could have done more?

We read last year Barcelona were looking at Branagan, which if true speaks volumes for the boy, so how is he progressing and do you see him breaking through to the first team? At 21 he seems to have been overlooked with all the players that have come in and that we continue to be looking at. Is he really as good we thought?

Thanks for the responses.

21.) 17 Jul 2017 23:12:34
Brannagan had an injury ravaged season last year so didn't kick on as hoped. Hopefully his career will get back on track this year

And ed25 if you do go to confession, don't tell them you are a blues fan or you will never get out.

{Ed025's Note - we are actually gods own club phil...have you ever seen mary in a red dress mate?.. :)

22.) 17 Jul 2017 23:15:04
To me ojo is like those stereotypical teenage boys who is just physically bigger stronger and faster than his peers. Then they starts playing with adults and they are found wanting. To me this is a Massive factor as to why it is difficult for younger players to break through into the first team.
because for so many of them it takes a long time for the mental side of the game to catch up to their physical side. And then ultimately clubs are always looking to bring in new players either, the same age or older, who can bring a more well rounded version of what they have currently EG solanke v OJ.

23.) 18 Jul 2017 02:40:22
When I say "could become one of world's best" I'm not saying this season and I'm not talking messi/ Ronaldo. But he could easily become a free scoring player in both premier league and champions league. He has pure class. Selling him is madness and I don't know why he doesn't get more games. In five years I would bet anything he is playing regularly in one of top leagues in Europe and scoring.

Alright lads. Not posted for ages but have been coming on multiple times a day for years, absolutely love it! Anyway just wanted to say what a fantastic time to be a liverpool fan! Been a fan since i was born in 86 don't remember to much from that era unfortunately. Been through some really tough times but the last few seasons have been just WOW! Back to back champions league finals steadily progressing in the league under klopp must say we have been truely privileged to witness. Feels so good to be considered as one of the best again after all these years. Was heartbreaking to miss out on the league the way we did seriously think we can go the extra step and lift it this season. The squad looks strong have some good depth really exciting times.

16 Aug 2017 22:05:23
We really should be going all out to sign asensio from madrid. The lad is class.

LFCerroll

1.) 16 Aug 2017 22:34:03
Why would Asensio join us when he is being well recognised for his work at Madrid and starting to make a name for himself there?

2.) 16 Aug 2017 22:38:50
The lad will not leave Spain.

3.) 16 Aug 2017 22:43:56
Would be a fantastic replacement for PC. Not a chance that we'll snap him up though. Shame.

4.) 16 Aug 2017 22:46:38
Not a chance. The guy is like gold dust to Madrid now.

5.) 16 Aug 2017 22:49:43
Probably the reason that Real wouldn't sell him.

6.) 16 Aug 2017 22:51:48
So he has currently just broken into the best team in the world and is one of the highest rated youngsters in the world. Why would he come to us?

7.) 17 Aug 2017 00:03:41
If only this was football manager we might stand a chance of getting him.

8.) 17 Aug 2017 01:37:49
Would be a great signing, him and Vasquez will do well this season for them.

9.) 17 Aug 2017 08:38:35
We did bid 42m for him in Jan and real said we could kick rocks then. He is an RM fan and is earmarked to be Bale's successor so good luck with getting him.

11 Aug 2017 18:36:00
Bit of deja vu here lads. Club gets back in champs league, squad shaping up nicely then Barcelona come calling nd bollocks it all up again!

LFCerroll

1.) 11 Aug 2017 18:50:54
Yeah really. It sucks that Everytime we appear to move up a step we get knocked down two. And with lallana out we are back another step and the end of those steps are looking farther and farther away. Hate to be gloom and doom but outside of a killer defensive signing like VVD we will struggle to make top 4.

2.) 11 Aug 2017 18:53:27
Everyone must've known he was going to do this. It's typical from players nowadays, makes me sick that I spend that much to watch my team for no loyalty.

18 Jul 2017 14:06:16
Must say im a bit disappointed in the boys and klopp. Ignoring fans in hong kong not signing autographs barring studge and milner. Some of these fans could have been waiting years to see them just to be shunned. Terrible.

LFCerroll

1.) 18 Jul 2017 14:30:27
Looked like they were under strict instructions to get on the bus asap as you can tell by looking at the staff and players faces that they felt bad about the whole thing.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 14:32:58
There are official signings and meet and greets you know? All players do a bunch of that stuff.
They aren't obliged to do sign anything. Yet most go out of their way after training sessions and such meets which are officially designated for such stuff. And there also security concerns with regards to such stuff. They might probably have been instructed to ignore at that moment.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 14:56:37
i agree with your point but i don't think the video was from recently in terms of their trip to hong kong. lucas is getting on the bus a studge hasn't got short hair. not sure when it was filmed though.

4.) 18 Jul 2017 14:58:00
It was last year mate and they where clearly in a rush or something because they never do it any other time.

5.) 18 Jul 2017 14:59:02
I may be wrong but i think that happened in Liverpool, not Hong Kong. It looks bad wherever it happened, you can only assume they were under instruction, though it didn't stop Milly and Studge.

6.) 18 Jul 2017 17:48:55
They all did the same at Tranmere and Wigan this week. Overpaid and arrogant. Went the golf at Birkdale on Sunday and 99% of the golfers stopped for photos and signed anything put in front of them. As well as our teams of the 70's and 80's being great teams the players were also in the main great fellas who would be happy to share their time and sign autographs. This lot can learn a lot from much more successful sportsman than they will ever be but I doubt they will.

07 Jul 2017 16:04:11
Not liverpool related but would just like to say R. I. P little bradley lowery. Showed so much fight for such a little lad. Massive respect to jermain defoe for all he done for him too. R. IP little man.

LFCerroll

{Ed025's Note - very sad news mate..

1.) 07 Jul 2017 16:43:04
Exactly, puts life into perspective! When I heard that on my way home from work I just wanted to get home to give the little one a hug.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 17:06:15
Oh no the wee man died! So so sad I'm heartbroken for the family and also any family who lost a little one at any time.
R. I. P LITTLE ANGELS.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 17:16:34
News of bradley lowrey has absoulutley gutted me. Im never usually an emotional person but this has had me close to tears today, poor little fella.
RIP kid.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 17:50:02
Living literally a 10 minute drive away from my home that little lad has touched so many lives it's heartbreaking may he rest in peace, don't want to get to political but this is what the world should be fighting not each other horrible diseases fight to get rid not for oil.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 18:03:04
And here we are stressing about not signing a left back. RIP little man, true warrior.

Needs to toughen up a bit gets pushed off the ball far to easy at times. Bit like firmino when he first came.

Insigne a good shout as a replacement. What about barcas youngster Munir? Could he be part of the deal? Remember reading he wants to leave for more game time. Thoughts?
