Hope this is alright for the banter pages. But with Arsenal so keen to sell to their rvials does anyone else think Giroud would be a random but maybe brilliant signing. I've never understood how someone who scores so much when he plays and has a lot of qualities is just not rated.
He would definitely give us a different option, good in the air and for when teams camp out in the box, and target man capable of neat one twos and flicks for firmino, salah and mane could be an answer.

I'd take him, he's used to being sub, and that's what he'd be.

i think we had his type before (Benteke) and that didn't go so well, he's not a KLopp player imo.

Wegot, difference being Giroud actually runs, has better technical ability than he’s given credit for and is always likely to get a goal off the bench. He would be second choice though.

Yeah Wegotosalah, let's redo that experiment again and hopefully, we can get a different outcome.

just a thought. And it would be more to get that extra bit of everything on the pitch when we need it. i know he wouldn't be all that suited to the games we counter with electrifying pace, but more often we actually get the ball back and then have to try break down a sitting defence with short quick passes (or slow laboured on the off days) . Giroud is very good at holding the ball up and laying it off. Is a confident player. Let's remember when arsenal bought lacazette to replace him he was ahead of lacazette in the same French national team Comparing Giroud to Benteke. They are polar opposites. Giroud is proven quality striker who does it almost whenever he gets the chance. Benteke is. well he's Benteke.

I think Giroud would be ideal. He’s great in the air, technically good and links up well with other attackers. He would be a great option to bring on in games like the swansea and West Brom ones. Also his goal scoring record is very good for someone who doesn’t often start and he does have an impact of the bench.

It won’t happen though.

We could do with a defensive midfielder to protect the centre backs, in the mould of a Mascherano or a makelele.

Definitely would like to see Klavan starting instead of Matip as well.

Maybe I'm wrong but hasn't he had some choice words to say about Liverpool before.

Clyne is a decent full back. Can't see how people think he is nowhere near good enough. not exactly a position there are 100s of world class players in.

Cobra let's not get carried away, when Salah signed for us most thought he wasn't good enough. It's his 1st top season, hazard for example has done it for years. There are many players real could go for. This is real we're talking about. if they are really looking to sign 3 attackers they are looking to replace Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo! All 3 would probably walk into most teams in the world, including ours.

Let's not worry. No certainty Milner will go anywhere, he gets a good few minutes here, and still has something to offer. All those players you mentioned are decent players too. We'd be hoping Ox continues to grow into what klopp wants from him. Keita will come in as a starter. We forget lallana was probably our best player for most of last season too.

And of course we will likely sign atleast one midfielder. It's known we tried in January, there will be more options in the summer.

By this logic we beat Madrid and Barcelona to vvd, salah, Ox, robbo and solanke. We actually did "beat" city and Chelsea to 2 of those and signed another from arsenal. What does that mean?

He was outstanding today. Motm, some brilliant crosses and always an out ball. Never stops and doesn't risk too much at the back. Antonio scored from his flank but to be fair Can was kinda caught in the middle or was strongly dispossessed, milner slipped at the same time. We were in possession and we all know how attacking we are.

He may be set for a pay rise. but its unlikely because of how he played in one game.

This isn't a hindsight comment. but worried about a lack of pace and creativity? Bar lallana those 3 are probably our best forward thinking midfielders. If anything it could have been defensively they struggled but didn't today. All 3 can be very good on the ball and capable of carrying it forward.

Taking away draws would probably ruin the premier league. Small teams can not be expected to compete with some of the bigger teams and if they can't try for a draw results would more than likely become more predictable. It's frustrating but it's what it is. They would probably park the bus anyway in and attempt to nick a win. That bus was still parked when we were 3 nil up last night sure.
