Sky sports reporting it as if Shaqiri is the Coutinho replacement after pulling the plug on Fekir!

Kingkevvy

1.) 13 Jul 2018 15:34:23
Just because SSN have stated that, doesn't make it true. They are speculating, they are reliable but don't believe everything they say. Eds have already confirmed they expect it to happen so I still have hope.

2.) 13 Jul 2018 15:39:56
Sky are only going on what they know and from what i understand of sky from this site they don't know alot. From what we've seen of klopp if he wants fekir he will get him and if that means waiting he will wait. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed before the window shuts or be the same as the keita deal.

3.) 13 Jul 2018 15:46:10
He's actually the karius replacement.

4.) 13 Jul 2018 15:48:11
If Shaq pops up in number 10, I belive Fekir is off. If not I hope he will still join us.

5.) 13 Jul 2018 16:10:28
Stay calm,
He will be a Liverpool player by the end of the transfer window.

6.) 13 Jul 2018 16:35:17
would you think that will end any hope of us moving back for Fekir or would you think there is room for both in our squad?

7.) 13 Jul 2018 17:01:04
Those three letters SSN should tell you everything you need to know.

8.) 13 Jul 2018 17:19:58
Shaqiri for coutinho is like getting rid of jessica alba for Theresa may.

9.) 13 Jul 2018 19:23:00
Shaqiri will wear number 23 shirt ( according to latest reports) and has passed his medical.

10.) 13 Jul 2018 20:52:02
If Teresa May came with £138 million into my bank account I'm ashamed to say I would do it though.

11.) 13 Jul 2018 21:18:18
@stoneage I doubt you’d be signing many players from overseas if she was in your squad.

12.) 14 Jul 2018 02:21:14
hed be wearing no.10 if that's was the case. shirt still open.

13.) 14 Jul 2018 13:07:38
Sky still have Fekir to join Liverpool at 10/11 so I'm guessing they still expect him to join us.

14.) 14 Jul 2018 13:19:36
OMG I swear to dog some posters on here just really don't read the content at all. It has been stated and restated HUNDREDS of times that the Shaqiri and Fekir signings have no bearing on each other and that Fekir is still expected to arrive. Please, PLEASE people RTFP!

(PS: Ed001 do you still expect the Earth to keep turning and Hell to freeze over and Bermuda shorts to make a comeback? )

{Ed001's Note - I have my Bermuda shorts on ready....}

Any update on the probable exit of Danny Ings? I would have thought clubs might have registered interest by now with him not having any World Cup commitments etc. Also what is the current situation with Lallana do you think he is still part of first team plans! Seems to me we are squad heavy with players who won't really get a sniff during the new season. Others too like Origi, Sturridge, Moreno, Mignolet, Clyne, Markovic and grugic are just a few that spring to mind but I'm not hearing much about possible takers. I know we need squad depth but just can't see some even making the bench with any regularity especially if we have a couple more incomings which we assume is expected.

Kingkevvy

{Ed002's Note - Southampton has an interest in Ings. Liverpool have made no efforts to sell Lallana. Grujic will leave, probably on loan. Markovic has been priced out of a move to the two interested sides and his agent is trying to get Galatasaray interested.}

1.) 08 Jul 2018 17:59:00
Reply much appreciated ed! Just think we have such a big stock of players who won’t see game time at all considering the bench will be full of the likes of chamberlain winjnaldum Solanke Matip Gomez Karius etc. Add to that the youngsters looking for cameos then even getting in the match day Squad will be tough for the ones I’ve mentioned and probably I few others I haven’t mentioned. Shame really because I think they could really improve some of the mid table teams as well as improving their own positions! This is why I get miffed when fans are happy to be buying squad players such as Shaquiri etc. Half the problem I suspect will be Liverpool trying to get ridiculous money for the players mentioned. Great site by the way. Love my daily catch up on here!

2.) 08 Jul 2018 18:44:38
I don't know how these things work but I would think the hardest player to get rid of would be Sturridge. Simply because of his history with injuries.

3.) 08 Jul 2018 19:25:31
Sturridge is a massive risk for anyone. There's a slim chance that he could be a great signing, but it's very slim. He'll probably go abroad and I think Turkey is the most likely.

4.) 08 Jul 2018 21:08:12
swap sturridge +10m for Vida.

5.) 08 Jul 2018 21:32:04
Vida. funny.

6.) 08 Jul 2018 21:41:35
For the love of god will someone just let markovich leave. We’ve damaged his career enough as it is. Cut a deal and let him get on with his life.

{Ed025's Note - lash him in a bin somewhere...with the rest of the trash..

7.) 08 Jul 2018 22:08:38
Exactly aoe just let him go.

8.) 08 Jul 2018 22:09:10
Still think he could be a useful player.

Surprised klopp just didn't give him. a chance.

Save us a pretty penny to have him as cover on the flanks.

9.) 08 Jul 2018 22:23:58
Poor poor Lazar. how could we treat him this way?

10.) 08 Jul 2018 23:50:41
Ed025, there is room in the bin for him now, seeing as though Pickford is doing ok and has been allowed out, and that means one less Blue in there.

{Ed025's Note - hes doing more than ok burkey hes the star of the show up till now, if there is any room in that bin i would suggest karius deserves a spot mate, just be careful when you shut the lid though as if it catches his head it could concuss him..

11.) 09 Jul 2018 07:58:10
Ed25, top man, the rose tinted brigade will be having hissy fits when they read that about Karius, cheered me right up.

12.) 09 Jul 2018 09:31:34
Genuinely cannot wait until Karius pulls off a wonder save against Everton, strolls up to their star player (who counts as their star player nowadays? ) and 'Zidanes' them back to a time when Everton mattered ;)

13.) 09 Jul 2018 11:36:18
Was there such a time Hjikle?

14.) 09 Jul 2018 12:13:46
I've heard fireside tales of long lost FA Cup wins long ago.

15.) 09 Jul 2018 10:51:21
Loved that ED25. Gave me a giggle :)

{Ed025's Note - im well past being PC lamborini mate..

16.) 09 Jul 2018 21:06:51
I remember when they mattered. They had a beast of a striker called Daniel Amokachi. He never really reached his potential as they kept subbing him for Paul Rideout.

17.) 10 Jul 2018 10:18:05
Ed, if you're going to dump Karius in the bin, don't throw him the bin lid. he's going to fumble it.

{Ed002's Note - Karius gets the point that he is loathed by enormous numbers of Liverpool fans - we are getting sick of reading about it here.}

Evening guys!

I have mentioned him before but wondered if peoples thoughts had changed! Jack grealish of Aston Villa. With my brother been a villa fan I've watched him a lot And I really like the look of him. He can play centrally and on the left. Spurs are very keen according to ssn and would be available due to Aston Villas present plight. Not the finished article by any means and one or two disciplinary problems a year or two ago but young and clearly talented! I reckon whoever gets him will be buying a very very good young British player. I do have a strong feeling he won't be everyone's cup of tea mind!

Kingkevvy

1.) 12 Jun 2018 23:44:25
Be better going for Stuart Armstrong of Celtic it'd be a cheaper risk. A full international and played in the Champions League also available.

2.) 13 Jun 2018 06:02:46
Freakish wouldn't actually be bad as a squad option but I'd question his attitude. Liddleland, on no planet is Armstrong even close to good enough for Liverpool. My best mate is a Celtic fan so I watched them quite a bit and the standard is miles apart. Like Charlie Adam playing for Brazil, you can't be serious.

3.) 13 Jun 2018 08:42:13
Like Andrew Robertson playing for Hull.

4.) 13 Jun 2018 09:32:07
Jurgen I would hope to be signing better players than Grealish and Armstrong both for me would only be a barrier for Woodburn. My point was better to take a gamble on a cheaper option with a proven good attitude who fits Klopp's work ethic than a more expensive player with a billy big time attitude.

5.) 13 Jun 2018 12:04:43
No chance I would want him anywhere near Liverpool FC. Bad attitude!

11 Feb 2018 13:37:59
Hey new poster and great site by the way.

What are your thoughts on jack grealish of Aston Villa? Currently watching the derby and he looks a really good high energy busy type player! My reasons for asking is that I've noticed he plays left of a midfield 3 (Coutinho position) and I can remember him tearing us to pieces a couple of years ago in the fa cup if my memory serves me right. Only young aswell. I think he will be a cracker in a few years. Thoughts?

Kingkevvy

{Ed002's Note - Welcome. Grealish wont be of any interest to Liverpool but if he has settled now clubs may show an interest.}

1.) 11 Feb 2018 13:54:12
He has had a few really good games and impressed me. He went off the rails a bit but does seem to have settled down a bit now.

2.) 11 Feb 2018 14:05:18
I wouldn’t touch him with a mile long barge pole.

3.) 11 Feb 2018 14:49:44
His career seemed to go off the rails when he ditched the Republic of Ireland for England.

4.) 11 Feb 2018 14:04:32
Sorry ed, I know it's the pool page but a random question on him- he declared for Ireland and we messed him around a little bit because we're idiots so he then declared for England. He played in the euro competitions under 21's for England but his career took a nose dive since then and it hasn't looked like he'll make the England seniors. Could it still be possible that he be picked for an Irish call up? Apologies if you want me to repost this elsewhere.

{Ed002's Note - No he has opted for England now.}

5.) 11 Feb 2018 15:05:41
aoe how was he messed around by Ireland?

6.) 11 Feb 2018 15:29:53
From what I've heard he originally declared for us and was promised many times that he'd get a call up. Nobody showed him the interest in his ability and any Irish fan will see that the fai is a joke on nearly all matters regarding football and there is little or no support for youngsters. As soon as England started showing interest we continued to promise him an opportunity. When we finally called him up for a friendly his head was rightly turned. I don't think he's good enough to play for England imo but the Irish team is a different beast altogether. More about least egos and hard hard work. He might have worked out for us.

7.) 11 Feb 2018 19:02:57
Sorry aoe. His Ego was the problem. He was treated very well all through under age football and it was felt he was not ready to step up to his first full cap, justifiably so.

8.) 11 Feb 2018 22:15:36
“I wouldn’t touch him with a mile long barge pole. “

😂 the idea of a barge pole being a mile long.

9.) 12 Feb 2018 08:16:17
Your spot on jimmy boy on quite a few points there. He did have an ego but we shouldn’t have rubbed it constantly and lied to him and his family about what chances he’d get, particularly if they didn’t think he was ready at all. You say he was treated well by the fai, each to their own mate, I’ve seen their treatment on issues close hand in the Irish league so I’m biased, but for me we could have nailed him down for the midfield years ago. There is nothing wrong with bringing youth through to the senior team to give them a taste. Anyone could see the lad had potential and we’ve such a shallow pool to take from. And that ego is something which would likely be brought down a peg or two in the Irish dressing room. In the English one, not so much. For me, I think he could have had a terrific career in Ireland and I genuinely think it could have helped his attitude problems. Ironically enough, England showing an interest and buggering off all of a sudden mightened have helped his devlopment either.
