Seeing that we've signed Fabinho, are in confirmed discussions with Lyon for Fekir and enquiries in for a GK or two it's safe to say transfer dealings are underway. So has there been any recent activity on outgoings? Clyne, Mignolet and Lallana in particular?

Thank You.

Jurgen McFurgen

1.) 05 Jun 2018 15:32:43
Nope. Very little activity in general.
Ejaria is off to Rangers and Dhanda to Swansea.
No change to what Ed002 said quite some time ago. Napoli could be a solution for Mignolet and there is some interest in Clyne from Prem clubs. Markovic will be released and Sturridge will probably end up seeing out his contract on loan somewhere. Don't expect us to get any shiny pennies for any surplus players, they aren't exactly hot properties. I expect clubs have a list of priorities and our either bang average or injury prone players aren't exactly right at the tops of their lists.

2.) 05 Jun 2018 16:47:39
Buying British players has its cons as they won’t have any suitors outside PL.

3.) 05 Jun 2018 16:57:32
Lallana, Sturridge (see what WB paid us), Markovic, Matip?, Migs will all achieve a fee if and when sold/ loaned albeit not much.

4.) 05 Jun 2018 18:06:08
Rubbish Harry. Do you know what Nationality the guy who scored Real Madrid's winning goal against us is?

Sturridge's best chance at a move is probably to Sevilla.

It is British players that tend not to be interested in playing abroad rather than the other way around. There is more money in English football and it is the most competitive league in Europe. So why would they leave to go and get racially abused in Italy, Spain or Russia?

Good morning Eds.
Question for ED001, if you think it's worth an answer?

What is your view on what might happen with Klopp, should Liverpool not win the league this season?

Personally, I'm enjoying the ride and think he's doing a fantastic job. I don't want him to leave. I couldn't think of anyone better to replace him either.

However, going from a potential 7 point lead to maybe being second after the next round of games and possibly City winning the title. In that situation, he's there my fear the owners may think this is as far as it can go? Or is it more like, wow that's was close we've come a long way in three seasons let's all all push on and go one step further.

I'm pondering this question cause I know the owners are business men, ruthless, Klopp himself said titles (any comp I sent a title) in three years and obviously next season it'll just get tougher.

Jurgen McFurgen

{Ed001's Note - I don't think anything will happen. Just because they are ruthless does not mean they make changes for the sake of it. We have taken another step forward this season, whether we win the league or not.}

1.) 04 Feb 2019 11:47:11
We've made it a title race this season. Which is a major improvement. City are wary they need to be at their best.

If we are honest we are maybe 1-2 players away from being able to compete squad wise against city. But it's not fifa and we can't keep buying players without moving others on.

I hope we do look at some of the players that seem injury prone. We need players we can rely on. We added that this year with Fabinho, Shaq but little way to go on the right tracks though.

2.) 04 Feb 2019 11:48:58
Progression is there for all to see it's clear as day.
I think the only mistake this season has been January window, not getting a defender In might bite us on the ass, the Clyne transfer was very odd.

{Ed025's Note - it was very odd L8...that you actually got money for him..

3.) 04 Feb 2019 12:08:02
I don’t disagree with letting Clyne, who was clearly not good enough or trusted, leave. But it’s daft not to bring a new defender in with both RB options injured and 3 CBs injured.

4.) 04 Feb 2019 12:59:51
Klopp said the decision to sell Clyne was made during the moment that it was the best decision. People judged the decision way way after that moment. Klopp said that. It wasn't daft at all. That's a really good point that I don't think much can be argue on.

5.) 04 Feb 2019 13:00:56
We haven’t lost since he went.

6.) 04 Feb 2019 13:07:24
No matter what anyone says, if we don't win the league the desperation from our fans will be devastating for klopp and will breed lots of toxic everywhere around the club from fans media etc.

7.) 04 Feb 2019 13:28:18
No ifs about it, we're winning the league. Jordz spot on.

8.) 04 Feb 2019 13:55:52
Clearly Klopp and the coaching staff did not want Clyne around anymore. And that since 2 years already. Some day the full inside story will come out, because he was not a complete, hopeless case on the field (Ed001 has alluded to low lifestyle standards already) . But in the meantime, Klopp and the staff were happy enough to put Randall into the roster and let Clyne go. I still remember from the Sakho case. If Klopp wants someone out, he is out, no matter what else is going on, come hell or high water.

9.) 04 Feb 2019 13:56:16
At least Mignolet, Clyne, Moreno, Milner, Origi, Markovic and Sturridge wil leave in the summer. That will give us room to make some big improvements to the squad as that is a lot of big earners off the wage bill. Lallana and Lovren probably aren't safe either as they are earning to much and talking too much to be squad players.

Notice that all of those guys predate Klopp's arrival. He's siphoning off the weak links steadily. Klopp is slowly transforming the club into a force again. Title or no title, he will be in charge next season and I back him to lead us to silverware very soon.

10.) 04 Feb 2019 14:07:40
Look back a few years and realize how far we’ve come. We would be nuts to let Klopp go, as clearly we have been improving year on year and that’s more than most teams can say in a league as tough as the PL.

11.) 04 Feb 2019 14:11:12
I’m sure Klopp will stay. The team is progressing and the squad continues to improve. Most players are now worth more than they were when Klopp joined. I think Klopp will get a great chance to get some new blood in this summer as some of the fringe players of the old establishment leave. This is similar to City where there was a mass exodus (Clichy, Navas, Zabaleta) on free contracts last season after which Guardiola could really make the whole squad his own.

Klopp has gradually built his own starting 11, and will look to build his own bench next season as we see potential departures of Studge, Milner, Clyne, Lallana, Moreno. The owners have given him a 6 year contract for a reason and I would be very, very surprised if he was asked to leave end of this season irrespective of where it goes from here.

12.) 04 Feb 2019 14:14:55
spot on Salah, were Top of the League, and were staying there .

13.) 04 Feb 2019 15:32:43
I can't get over how fickle/ negative fans are on this site sometimes. Over the past 2 days I have read posts about being worried about UTD? (13 pts ahead with a game in hand! ) and now wondering about Klopps future (win tonight and we are 5 clear! ) . Some fans are definetely losing their nerve that is for sure. (Time to grow a pair! I believe Klopp and our team are made of sterner stuff and deserve our support. 3-1 to us tonight Salah to get 2.

14.) 04 Feb 2019 17:59:21
MK, we'd be crazy to let Milner go. He's going to win the Ballon D'Or when he's 46.

15.) 04 Feb 2019 18:18:46
Quality response from Ed 025 and I must say, I totally agree with you! Selling our 4th choice right back shouldn’t impact us one bit.
As for a change of manager. He is the right man for the job wether we come 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I can’t think of anyone else I’d want in that dug out. He could manage any team in Europe!

{Ed025's Note - i agree welsh..

16.) 04 Feb 2019 19:03:44
I couldn't believe the OP. Klopp has done miracles with h our club.

Just think back 6 years.

17.) 04 Feb 2019 19:04:01
No disrespect to the king.

{Ed025's Note - im sure elvis will forgive you robbie..

18.) 04 Feb 2019 22:19:12
OP, FSG are not that stupid. Ruthless BUT not stupid. Nothing will happen to Klopp except if FSG want to feel the full fury a very large majority of the worldwide fan base, mine included.

REading good reports on Curtis Jones. Anyone with a bit more info on this lad? Best position, first team time this season?

Jurgen McFurgen

1.) 20 Jul 2018 12:24:10
Bench, cup games and last 10 minutes for me. Only 17, plays older.

Great feet. Hard working and excellent in possession. Doesn't really make any errors and also works really hard.

Attacking mid best position although klopp has had him in sort of a free role these games.

2.) 20 Jul 2018 12:46:07
sounds tidy. Couldn’t be a reason Fekir is shelved? Not putting 17yr old under pressure but if he’s good enough etc.

3.) 20 Jul 2018 13:51:34
hahaha. Curtis Jones being quite good has absolutely nothing to do with Fekir.

19 Jul 2018 19:22:30
Good evening Ed's and all. Hope everyone is enjoying the lengthy summer weather, but more so the current situation with our club.

We knew Keita looks special. We knew a defensive midfielder was required and a GK was essential and not Butland or Cillessen. Our window has been exactly as we'd have wished. I think Brewster, Firmino and Salah signing long term deals has slipped under the radar with the transfer excitement. A special note to Ox, worst news possible, looking like a massively important player and a speedy recovery wished by all.

I feel really excited and grateful for our summer, fantastic World Cup too. So it makes me a little greedy to ask this but, Eds, what is the current situation with Fekir and us! There's so much contractions around. Could you please update to the best of your current knowledge and how you predict this saga to end. Appreciate it and your work here all general.

Jurgen McFurgen

{Ed001's Note - there is nothing happening there right now.}

1.) 19 Jul 2018 20:06:15
Not needed. If it happens it happens. If not won't cost us much with success this season

A midfield of hendo, fab, keita will do just as good as fab, keita and fekir.

2.) 19 Jul 2018 20:34:34
I still wouldn't rule out Draxler.

3.) 19 Jul 2018 20:53:19
Hope Mane gets a new deal soon! And Fekir before west ham game!

Read €180m firm bid on Asensio. Obviously click bait right?

Jurgen McFurgen

1.) 23 Jun 2018 17:23:42
Probably. Not gona lie I clicked. Haha.

2.) 23 Jun 2018 17:26:33
Textbook clickbait.

3.) 23 Jun 2018 17:29:13
Ha ha ha ha, you need to ask?

4.) 23 Jun 2018 22:20:27
A firm bid?

Good news, I’d hate it to be a €180m soft bid 😉.

5.) 24 Jun 2018 20:27:22
Seriously chuckled at that Ron lol.

12 Jun 2018 12:53:55
Afternoon Eds. Would you guys have any info about Butlands injury history? He was out for a long while. Seeing as he's linked and becoming more possible and with the Fekir deal collapsing due to injury history.

Many Thanks.

Jurgen McFurgen

{Ed002's Note - He broke his ankle about 13 or four years ago.}

1.) 12 Jun 2018 15:19:04
Not sure I understand the answer ED but am just taking it as my question was crap. Fair play dude.

{Ed002's Note - I am on a train, 3 or 4 years.}

2.) 12 Jun 2018 18:24:31
Just go on transfermarkt and search for him, in a sub menu you can see his (and anybody you want to search) injury record.

3.) 12 Jun 2018 22:32:42
transfermarkt isn't as reliable as some make out Philinho mate.

How’s Rabiot a bargain buy? He will still command all expected as a free signing plus now there’s also an actual transfer fee of £20m, minimum.
I can’t imagine anyone unless desperate, would pay now £20m for three months of playing time rather then wait for the summer and no fee.

So did Klopp actually come out publicly announcing Ward as number one? Missed that interview. Any links, be an interesting watch.

Otherwise is everyone getting this Ward no.1 info from the same set of journos, twitter etc that I see always slammed down as utter bollox? Then becoming a super keyboard warrior ready and waiting to type ‘embarrassing’ as much as possible.

Don’t see the point or need to sell a versatile player who has played well and seems popular. people seem to have a mindset about this super strong 11. Yet same time we want a strong bench and top squad. Which is it?

So. Hendo, out injured. Fabinho suspended and Keita carrying a slight knock and ideally not risked as a CL game coming up. Can has gone, Ox out. THIS is when top teams still field quality and win in this situation.

I hope he stays.

If he still to improve our squad, Yes. In fact if we’re building a squad to compete the next season on all fronts, then I welcome all additional players. I trust our current management to know what they’re buying and how to use the squad and keep players happy.

He looked good at the WC.

His number is 8. Thanks Salah. That’s the thing I don’t know enough but he’s being banned around like the final piece of anyone’s jigsaw. Glad he’s top draw. Hope he settles in.

Fact is we played two decent teams and didn’t lose, although I appreciate we should beat these two and Bournemouth (who smashed Chelsea 4-0) if we want the title, there isn’t an easy game and we may have picked up two valuable points come May. So many huge games for the top three coming up against top six sides those games will decide who deserves to be champions.

If it were me I’d spend the £50m on De Ligt. People said £75m on VVD was stupid money, it looks a bargain now. This kid has by all accounts the potential to be the best, only the top top clubs are linked. £50m could look a snip if he progressed with us like vVd has.
I agree about Gomes, but he has suffered lengthy spells out. I hate to say it, but should that continue his career at this level won’t last, still maybe at EPL level but a lower side, because he’ll lose paceand have that injury reputation. So in two or three seasons the ideal replacement DE LIgt will be £150m the way things are going and probably out of reach. ID buy him now. I do have him and VVD as settled cb partnership, have Gomes as cover for both CB/ RB and play a part in most games from the bench plus starting all cup and games whenever VVD or deL need rest or suspended.
GOT TO THINk long sited and if the best are available now get them if possible. ANYone know of a cb you’d rather have? One that could become the best? ONE That could play in our system? Potentially 10-12 years of top level career? IF £50m is correct that’s half the koutabily (spelling) fee and he ticks none of these things.

Jurgen McFurgen

{Ed001's Note - have you watched De Ligt play? I have seen him a few times and fail to understand the hype at all. Looked an entirely average centre back to me.}

Think he’s progressing as planned. He’s adapted to full back well although he’d prefer CB, understand that’s the option this season. He’s had good first team minutes and experience. Had his injuries but always came back with the same quality and reliability. Yes made mistakes, but he’s young and played out of favoured position, but he’s also had many occasions where he’s been one of the best defenders.
Easy 7/ 10 and looking if he continues as an easy 8/ 10 which is the standard required imo to be a Liverpool first team regular (no one is really 10/ 10 except the odd Italian defender) .

Sure. I borrowed it from Steve McMananan and has been seen by a few others so no problem lending it out.
