I agree ED, that defeat hurt me too but I feel like the players were all playing well below par so hopefully we won't repeat that again. I also think Klopp is starting to change his defiant attitude in regards to tactics as I've seen changes (Albeit not against utd lol)

JigzTheRed

{Ed0333's Note - my point is Jigz we have those below par performances in us which is worrying. I agree Klopp has evolved tactically and has been doing so for a while. I just don’t think we have the personnel to match his acumen (there’s only so much you can coach) We will do next season hence why I think we will flourish in the future.

1.) 15 Mar 2018 07:30:27
Ed I agree totally I also think we become too reliant on individual players eg Salah it's like if we keep him quiet the rest will fold, same was said of coutihno, an last year wid mane when he weren't playing or injured.

2.) 15 Mar 2018 18:41:14
Hi Ed0333. Do you believe Klopp is around for the long haul or could his head be turned?

{Ed0333's Note - I have no idea buddy. I hope he stays for the long haul.

3.) 16 Mar 2018 08:00:01
From his talking and body language he gives the impression of a very committed guy. I don't know, but that's what I see in his press conferences. He treats his time at LFC as a project and a revival. He's smart enough to know that reviving LFC (which he has started already) has far more value in footballing circles than going to a Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG, and become just one in a series of managers for teams that rely mostly on money and marketing. He hides it well, but I think he has considerable pride and ego and won't leave until his goal is accomplished. I see him more being asked to leave (for example, if we mess up on the top 4 standard we seem to be setting) rather than him walking off for the big bucks.

4.) 16 Mar 2018 10:44:58
I don’t know a team in the history of football that doesn’t have those games in them. Even City this year against Palace and against us and more recently against Basel (dead rubber I know but still a flat performance).

I’m not too concerned about our consistency as we’ve only lost 4 all season and 3 of them were away against top 4 teams. It’s a huge improvement to what we have been used to in the past.

5.) 16 Mar 2018 10:45:23
Hailstones l think every great team has always had a ‘star’ player that drags them through the tight games. Right now ours is Salah. The trick is to have other threats when they are off form and with Firmino and Mane we have that. Keita will add to it from a deeper position too.

Like the Ed I think we will be much better equipped after the summer. I really like that the recruitment is based on quality players even if we have no chance of getting them. There will be the odd one or two that we will get (like Keita and VVD) and they will steadily improve the team. It’s not a quick process but it’s definitely the right process.

Thank you Ed0333 for your reply.

{Ed0333's Note - no worries mate

Hi Eds, just wanted to know if you think our recent results are due to Coutinho leaving? Tactics (when we play defensive teams)? Or just a bad defense? I ask because, every time we sell one of our best players, our team starts to look average. Great job with the site as well, I dunno what I'd do without it lol.

JigzTheRed

{Ed002's Note - None of those. It is simply business as usual. Liverpool will win games, draw games and lose games. There is no secret message Jigz.}

1.) 28 Jan 2018 09:52:49
aw ed2, I was really hoping you'd share some secret juice that would help liverpool win every game they play. :p
yup, business as usual. and actually going 3 months undefeated was more odd than anything lol we going through a rough patch so hopefully we snap out of it. I truly believe it's not skill, but more to do with concentration and patience. all intangible things.

{Ed002's Note - So if Liverpool had won 3-2 yesterday everything would be fine?}

2.) 28 Jan 2018 10:34:29
of course not ed2! been saying all season about our deficiencies that rear their head in wins, draws and losses. Just not losing my mind over a loss / draw and equally not going over the top after a win. but like you say, we just got to suck it up and move on to the next game.
Having said that, I do think in cup games it can be a bit of 'whatever it takes' ya know!?

3.) 28 Jan 2018 11:58:38
I think Klopp will be under the microscope as realistically it's a third season under him with no silverware and very little progress. Defensively we are still a shambles and hardly been resolved.

I'm at work going mad trying to not check for transfers lol. Macca if you're around, please help me with any insightful info you may have. And thanks everyone for making the transfer window enjoyable. YNWA.

Morning Eds and fellow reds. Quick question, I think someone previously said Danny Ward may be 3rd choice but, do you think Klopp will keep an open mind? I like him as a keeper a lot and think he has the confidence to take on the challenge. Thanks in advance.

JigzTheRed

{Ed002's Note - Klopp won't be starting Ward on anything like a regular basis. To be honest Ward needs to consider his future.}

1.) 03 Aug 2017 08:56:26
Eds have already said they don't pick the side. Only Klopp knows who is in his plans.

2.) 03 Aug 2017 09:20:04
Intentions could change. Who's to say Migs doesn't get injured and Ward gets his opportunities that way. You need three decent keepers now to compete and Wards time will come whether this year or next.

3.) 03 Aug 2017 10:42:23
How would the ed's dealt with the goalkeeping situation coming into this season?

Seems like a Deja Vu of when he came back from Scotland and just had to sit and not get any gametime!

{Ed025's Note - i would stick with migs myself TSR, i think he done really well towards the back end of the season and hopefully he can keep up that standard..

4.) 03 Aug 2017 11:53:18
Migs starts the season as 1st choice. But Klopp needs to make a decision over Ward or Karius. Neither will be happy being 3rd choice Gk which involves being sat in the stands for a majority of the season. And both Ward and Karius deserve to play at least half the games next season. So one stays and the other goes out on loan.
You can never keep 3 GKs vying for the 1st choice position happy at once, and I hope Klopp does not learn that the hard way.

Defo still need more signing for the bench. Players have to leave of course.

Could be true because Fabinho was very vocal after the PSG defeat in the tunnel lol. But great rumour pal, keep them coming. Made me feel more optimistic than I already am.

He isn’t playing to his full potential yet but he’s only just arrived. You can see he reads the game well though. Give him time. Can was shite for a few seasons.

Mane is so underrated imo. I love watching him play.
