Thought I would share. Turkish outlet Ajanspot are reporting LFC have made an agreement for the €20m purchase of Trabzonspor’s Abdülkadir Ömür. Report also suggest he will remain at Trabzonspor for the remainder of the current season. As I say, I have just seen this reported and figured I would share as some may not have seen. Do the ed’s Know of any such deal, or if not, if this is a sort of deal the club, at this time would consider, given his position etc. Thanks as always

Jamie.

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid they are teasing you.}

Merry Xmas to you mate, and to all the posters on here too. Wherever you may be, whoever you're with, and whether you are eternally optimistic (Salaoe) or your glass is half empty (Walter and Harry), may you all have an awesome festive period, and a top-of-the-league new year!

2.) 24 Dec 2018 18:53:26
Merry Christmas to all you lads.

Really love this time of the year in the office. Almost all tasks of the year settled, bosses aren't around taking holidays, chatting and playing games with the office mates.

Happy holiday to all.

I have seen, on numerous platforms, criticsing the LFC team and manager and their ability to achieve success. I appreciate we all of have opinions and it’s your entitlement, it is my opinion that fans have a role to play too and there are a large portion of which that are underperforming in their roles too. We have a duty to support the team and invest in the clubs methods. Performances have been below what we have been accustomed to so far this season, yet we are on the coat tails of a city without even clicking into gear to the level we know we can achieve. I am not suggesting we should be blind to error, however, let’s support the club and team with all our might and play our part in the clubs road to success, a road, I believe, we are a fair way along.

Hope you all have a fantastic day

Cheers

Jamie.

JamirBR, you are a real supporter! Very well said.

2.) 09 Nov 2018 10:18:12
People would do well to remember the days of narrowly avoiding administration and then top 4 doesn't seem so bad.

3.) 09 Nov 2018 10:28:26
Great post mate, nice one.

4.) 09 Nov 2018 10:47:26
Rtid, exactly but many have short memories mate.

5.) 09 Nov 2018 11:49:08
Well said mate. Within a decade we have gone from the brink of administration to clawing our way back into the CL as well as playing in several cup finals along the way. We have a squad filled with top quality players and are joint top of the Prem as one of 3 unbeaten teams. Incidentally we now have the easier run of fixtures as we have played all of the top 5. Our team may not be firing on all cylinders but we are still competing YNWA!

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool were not on the brink of administration and in the decade ("only" a decade in your view) the club has not won anything - unlike many others (but that seems to be just fine with the fans for reasons I don't understand).}

6.) 09 Nov 2018 11:53:54
Hi guys I've been a long time reader on here and thoroughly enjoy reading all the different opinions but this is the day I feel it's time for my first post. This undermining of the progress we've made in klopps 3 years is outrageous in my opinion. We seem to forget the state of the squad we had when he took charge and how far we were from top 4 nevermimd challenging for the title. His 1st full season he gets top 4, starts to steady the ship, his second season we wanted to challenge but for Christ's sake no team could have kept pace with city getting 100 points. And we made UCL final, fantastic achievement in its own. Every transfer window gone it's fair to say he's been spot on, and developing players all the time too. This season we've had a tricky start but we're in a very good position. I think it's unfair to discredit the work klopp has done in 2 full seasons only. We are in a far far far superior position now as a club and klopp deserves more respect than that to be seen as a failing manager. Rant over guys sorry.

{Ed002's Note - Welcome. Glad you are happy failiing to win anything. and think that Klopp and the vast sums of money have been a great investment.}

7.) 09 Nov 2018 12:44:27
Other teams seem to be able to get a new manager in and win the Premier league. The last 5 seasons will show a good example of this.

{Ed001's Note - and then slumping miserably the following season, pay off manager, hire new manager and buy all new players. All of which costs hundreds of millions every year. If that's what you want then up to you, but I want sustainable success and that takes time. If you want that unrealistic crap, put your money in and pay for it, otherwise stop whining.}

8.) 09 Nov 2018 13:03:11
Welcome har Red, hope to see you posting more mate.

9.) 09 Nov 2018 13:11:39
Those teams you mention Walter also had title winning teams in the first place. Klopps starting point with us was light years behind what the likes of Pelegríni, Pep and Conte et al have walked into.

10.) 09 Nov 2018 13:53:51
Liverpool changed their manager and appointed Klopp. He clearly gets paid. So do the players the club have since bought. Had they appointed someone else he would have been paid. So would the players the club would have since bought. An investment either way with no guarantee of success either way.

11.) 09 Nov 2018 13:56:48
Yes Klopp has spent, the majority this last summer window and last winter, it’s not the end of the season so let’s re asses then. Klopp for me is building a good team and we should give the man time. I totally agree with ed001, chopping and changing is not what we should be doing.

I’m in a good position as I’ve seen Liverpool in their glory days so with that, I’d much rather a lean spell than have the likes of Mourinho in charge. Like I say, I’m fortunate to have seen the reds win everything so I can wait.

As for spending, well at least we’re not Everton, one trophy - since 1995.

12.) 09 Nov 2018 12:14:57
Of course I'm not happy that we haven't been winning titles in a long time, I just believe that in only 2 full seasons in charge it's a little unfair to not appreciate the steps he's made. We had benteke balotelli leading our line which gives an example of how poor our squad really was. He's doesn't deserve to be wrote off yet, the minute we stall or go backwards I'l call for his head but what more could he really do up to this stage? Who could have possibly challenged city last year? We're competing this year so give the man a chance I say until he starts failing.

{Ed002's Note - I forgot, this is Liverpool so the first season is simply transition. "Until he starts failing" - you clearly don't get it.}

13.) 09 Nov 2018 20:19:37
Well to be fair how could any human turn that squad we had into winners in the space of one season, 'transition' is needed of course.

14.) 09 Nov 2018 20:41:07
Briliant post, OP and 87red. I think the reason why people are moaning is that they judge LFC based on what other clubs are doing, forgetting that this club has been hugely mismanaged for years if not the last couple of decades whereas these other clubs have been doing the right things. Hence, they think things are easy cos it seems easy for other teams, forgetting all the hardwork these other teams do to be successful. News Flash: This ain't FIFA Manager. This is the big leagues.

I don't care what other teams do cos that has NO bearing on us and never has. Klopp came into to right mess after the incompetent BR was rightly given the boot. I remember how poor the squad was and we finished 8th that season, behind the mighty WH (6th) and Southampton (7th) . Let that sink in. Klopp has fixed all that for the most part in his third season. You can't compare that to a say, Chelsea that have won two of the last 4 PL titles with the same core group intact. Their squad is till solid and a good manager like Sarri does not need 3 years to improve it. Klopp did, so the moaners should keep that in mind before making such comments.

15.) 10 Nov 2018 15:25:57
You say fans have to invest in the team and it's method, well every investor will always looks for a return on investment and LFC is quite poor at that. If you mean we must have faith and not criticize no matter what then you really are asking us to provide charity with our support to the club. The last time I checked the club is definitely not a non profit organization.

Eventually the owners, the sponsors and the fans will require a return on investment for the money and time put into the club. I think and this is just my opinion, this season is when the return on investment has to be made. We have all the tools, we are masters of our own destiny but looks like the players are all talk and no action.

16.) 10 Nov 2018 15:32:48
Well said 87, we were miles off when Klopp came! Only cabbages on the wind up would not realise and admit this, just sad and a sign of the times that we've made our best ever start to a Premier League season and people just want to moan. Truth is people know how gud a team this is and how close we are, but because of having not won the league since 1990 and now being our best chance since this team is getting the brunt of nearly 30 years of frustration when they have a bad result.

Have woken to the news that we all feared. I am deeply saddened by the tragedy that has taken lives of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and 4 others in the horrific Accident at LCFC. My thoughts and prayers go to all those connected to the club and to those who lost their lives. YNWA.

Terrible news. Condolences to all involved.

3.) 29 Oct 2018 18:58:58
Awful news. Seems that he did so much for the Leicester community as well as the fans, which I was not aware of. All of which makes me more happy that they won the league during his tenure.
RIP, if there were more people like him the world would be a better place.

{Ed025's Note - i could not have put it better myself bandit..

Oh nice, Potential was perhaps overplayed in the media at the time, he was touted as the next big thing. I was not privy to know anyone with close links to this particular player, so the feedback is Interesting. Thanks Ed 👍.

JamieBR

{Ed001's Note - he was alright like but just another player.}

Kevin Gallen, another linked with Liverpool on numerous occasions. Frightening potential, sadly, largely unfulfilled.

JamieBR

{Ed001's Note - I worked with his cousin Paul for a while, and Kevin was never that good potentially. Nowhere near top class and never had the ability to be that.}
