Just seen in Currys an old man with a red nose walking hand in hand with a young boy.
They stopped at the isle where the hair dryers
are for sale and were in great discussion about which one to buy.
After a while they decided that a hair dryer would not be powerful enough for what they needed.
They eventually bought a leaf blower and I may be mistaken but the old guy smelled of whisky.
Could it have been OGS and SAF?

Last season Liverpool Fc became the team that has ever came closest to winning the quadruple.

The club won both the Fa and league Cup and played every game possible any team could in the league, Cup competition and champions league. last season.

Heading into this season expectations for success were high because of last seasons achievements.

Losing the league by a point on the last game of the season and a one nil defeat in the championship league final is in my opinion.

Cont.
Is having a massive impact on the team performance this season.

Mentally and physically drained from the massive effort put in last season.
Remember this when you are moaning and batching about money, transfers and recent results.

2.) 19 Jan 2023 09:42:51
You could have a point, JWT72.
Like George Foreman after the Thriller in Manila and Denman after his Cheltenham Gold Cup win.

3.) 19 Jan 2023 10:44:02
It was inevitable, OP. Despite Klopp saying there was no sign of it in pre-season, it was always going to happen. Either he is the only one that was surprised or he is not telling the truth.

Klopp has gone to the well one too many times with this group.

4.) 19 Jan 2023 11:19:45
Would you expect Klopp to go public about it and undermine the players, FPF?

Klopp has tried to strengthen and freshen up the group. If he couldn't then maybe he'd be better going back to the well with players he can trust. Alternatively he could have bought some players that were not good enough and that he couldn't trust.

5.) 19 Jan 2023 11:49:54
I still we are nailed on for the treble.

6.) 19 Jan 2023 12:10:09
Rigsby, Frazier was the Manilla fight. Foreman was The Rumble In The Jungle.

7.) 19 Jan 2023 11:40:59
No Rigsby I wouldn't Jurgen to undermine his players. But equally I don't like lies either.

I would expect him (and his so called experts) to use his decades of football experience to freshen things up before it happened. This is an elite football club with access to elite performance people that understand physical and mental limits.

Any more excuses?

8.) 19 Jan 2023 13:25:28
Haven't you seen our spending since 2019 FPC? So how he's going to freshen up things?

9.) 19 Jan 2023 14:25:18
FPF, talking crap again. He has bought players added to the defence couple of young prospects for midfield ( one who was doing ok til injury set him back) changed the front 3 maybe his decades of experience Out wit yours. Couple of midfielders and another center half that will be the whole team done until Robbo needs replacing. How’s that for “freshened up”.

10.) 19 Jan 2023 14:26:35
Stone, "well spotted, Wilson" (in the voice of Capt. Mainwaring) .
I've just realised my mistake as I was rereading the posts and was about to ask 'is no one going to correct me? ' but you beat me to it.
Ta, mate ?.

11.) 19 Jan 2023 14:34:12
Don't look at it as lies and take it personally, FPF. Look at it is Klopp being tactful.
For arguments sake, say Klopp did think the players look jaded and some of his transfer targets didn't happen (which they didn't) what would you expect him to do?
And if it was inevitable that we'd struggle this season, did you say this before we started to struggle?

12.) 19 Jan 2023 14:34:35
kopforever - you have to decide on whether there's no money to spend or whether Klopp has placed constraints on himself by only wanting to shop in Harrods.

I think there is some truth to the latter.

We'll never know I guess.

What would I have done? Well, we should have added a midfielder in summer 2021 to replace Gini's availability/ physicality and another in summer 2022 to give Fabinho some real cover. We're not talking about a revolution here.

And to say there was no-one suitable available does our scouts a disservice as they would have known about Caicedo, Guimaraes, Kone, Enzo, Gomes, Danilo, Khephren, Nunes, Tchouameni, Ugarte, Luis, Musah, Adams, Vitinha, Otavio etc before they became too expensive/ unattainable.

13.) 19 Jan 2023 14:43:57
scouse john L8 - great, everything is going perfectly well then. can't wait to see Naby and Arthur save our season.

14.) 19 Jan 2023 15:16:33
FPF, I asked what should Klopp have done after last season and you start talking about cover for Fabinho.
Why have you singled out Fabinho?
Was is inevitable that he would be the most jaded? What about the other players that would inevitably be jaded?
I'm sure our scouts knew about the players on your list. Tchouameni went to Madrid after we showed an interest. Guimaraes hadn't been at Newcastle long. I'm not sure how available or suitable the others are because I don't know much about them.
Can you tell me all about them, please?
Or are they just names of midfielders that you can find on the internet?

15.) 19 Jan 2023 15:18:28
Ah OK if we miss out on cl football we'll always have we nearly won the quad to keel us entertain us instead of adding a few players to help those exhausted players, while telling ourselves the massive losses in revenue will be grand, but don't give out bout the lack of spending . Holy Jesus.

16.) 19 Jan 2023 15:20:25
Rigsby - protect your players and staff by all means. Don't make up stupid things to appease the press and gaslight the fans. I am not expecting him to say "my midfielders are crap" and "they won't let me sped". Not at all. But don't doubt the intelligence of the most knowledgeable supporters in the world either. We know footy.

You can read my historic posts if you like. Use the search function. I have been voicing my concerns about the midfield and (d) evolving tactics since the start of last season.

17.) 19 Jan 2023 15:38:56
Rigsby, I see you.

18.) 19 Jan 2023 15:39:54
FPC didn't Klopp just said few days back we don't have money? ?

Klopp on transfers: "I've had 6000 press conferences at Liverpool, I have to tell you again the money story? Why could it be the reason we have money like crazy and we still don't buy players? You know the answer! "

When we badly need a midfielder and yet our manager has to say we don't have funds despite we might miss on CL what makes you think they would've spent when we were competing for trophies?

19.) 19 Jan 2023 16:39:44
Kopforever, he also said in a different press conference if the right player is available, the club will spend, so I really would not read too much into what Klopp says to the media.

20.) 19 Jan 2023 17:12:57
Yup Stuie boy he meant if club's like Brighton benfica etc could Land their assets on instalments just like Gapko. Hence he was upbeat after signing Gapko and had said we are undone in Transfer market ?

But after couple of week quickly understood wasn't possible for teams like Benfica Brighton to allow their assets go through instalments when they've to replace them hence Brighton official mocked us publicly ?.

21.) 19 Jan 2023 17:17:05
kopforever - when he talks about money he means we cannot spend frivolously or make mistakes like some other clubs can. He doesn't mean we are broke.

However, we have made a different type of mistake. Being so conservative in the market that we have practically written off whole seasons (20/ 21 and this season) . That is not the behaviour of an elite club and certainly not one that wants to fight for titles and champions leagues.

22.) 19 Jan 2023 17:54:16
"That is not the behaviour of an elite club and certainly not one that wants to fight for titles and champions leagues" FPC seems you're still struggling to understand our business model.

We have never spent anywhere near midtable clubs forget elite. Hence we are bottom of the pile when it comes spending money don't know what's difficult for you to understand.

We hardly pay upfront hence ed2 explained few months back we deal through foot and mouth.

Players like jota Diaz Thiago Gapko etc were purchased through instalments by tying down our future income hence fans struggle despite our revenue why we still struggle in transfer market coz most of our money is tied down by players we purchased through instalments ?.

23.) 19 Jan 2023 18:03:16
I don't care about being an elite club but we fight for titles and CLs.
We wrote off 20/ 21? We had five centre halves injured at one point. Van Dijk, Gomez, Matip, Fabinho and Henderson. Fab and Hendo had been playing there. We did well to finish third.
This season has been poor. Injuries and new signings settling in. We didn't improve the midfield because Klopp didn't get who he wanted.
Senior players also out form.
We're still competing in the CL, though.
That is a fact.

24.) 19 Jan 2023 18:18:57
You must be a special breed to think Liverpool are the only club to sign players via instalments. Case in point bout why the Eds do not discuss finances on this site.

25.) 19 Jan 2023 18:47:59
Rambo mate seems you're new to the site?

Rigsby mate fact? We are struggling left the squad age without any succession plans.

How many teams have same players altogether for 6-7 yrs and still rely on them especially in EPL which is a physical league?

26.) 19 Jan 2023 19:25:23
Kopforever mate. It's Gakpo, not Gapko. ??‍♂️.

27.) 19 Jan 2023 20:05:16
kopforever, we are fighting for the CL. That is a fact.
We might not be fighting for the League this season but we were last season. That is also a fact.
We may not be behaving like an elite club or be spending like Villa or Spurs but we regularly have fought for the League and CL under Klopp and FSG.

30 Dec 2022 06:57:36
Just think if instead Everton had been taken over by the
people who purchased MCFC.

Take a minute to think about how watching Everton winning league titles, league cups and Fa cups must feel.

Now think how it feels for the Man U fans.

At least one good thing comes from cities success.

JWT72

1.) 30 Dec 2022 07:27:23
I thought you were going to challenge the moral lines of fans if it was our city rivals lol.

2.) 30 Dec 2022 08:28:06
As a fan of Liverpool, who cares what Everton, City or United fans do or feel?

{Ed025's Note - how insular of you WDW, how was your chrismas eve meeting with jacob marley mate.. :)

3.) 30 Dec 2022 09:39:05
I've seen Everton win titles and cups and it never bothered me because it was friendly rivalry then. There was none of this toxic tribalism bullsh#te that goes on nowadays.

4.) 30 Dec 2022 13:07:21
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I care what Everton does. I hope they get better. It's better for the city and community. I also would love to see it get back to the friendly rivalry. All of this divisiveness is boring. Support your club absolutely, but be happy for your friends and family who support the blue side as well. But, then again I'm sure I'm in the minority.

5.) 30 Dec 2022 14:33:31
I used to think that too mate. Liked the rivalry respect but now the matches are hard to watch these days. I’m always worried they’ll do one of our players. I can’t relax until full time (regardless of how much we’ve beaten them) I’m sure there’s two teams in it but there really seems to be a nastiness in the matches the last few years. Forgive me ed25 if you think I’m seeing it a little too much through red tinted glasses.

{Ed025's Note - they have been nasty for a long while now aoe, mainly town to jealousy and one team being far superior mate, but now you have signed some good players recently so maybe that will change.. :)

6.) 30 Dec 2022 14:38:00
Divided i am stone. Great for the city if both teams were prospering but I would also love to see the back of them, absolutely dread playing these days all the injuries we end up with.

7.) 30 Dec 2022 16:43:33
Ed25 - classic response to are.

Hope the other Ed's don't get jealous but you are my favorite just because of your witty responses.

I suppose being an Everton supporter means that you have to have a sense of humor ?.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate, your dead right there JLCBM it stops me crying myself to sleep every night mate.. :)

8.) 30 Dec 2022 17:01:57
Ed finally agrees nunez is a good player?.

{Ed025's Note - he is very dangerous and quick liverbird, but his brain is a lot slower than his big clown feet mate..

9.) 30 Dec 2022 17:21:08
To be fair Ed, every now and again I do catch myself thinking it would be nice if something good happened at Everton - after the years and years and years and years of misery the fans have had to endure and then I think that somebody actually chooses to offer Jon’s to the procession of managers and contracts to a succession of seriously average players and I just start laughing. Still, there’s always next year eh?

10.) 30 Dec 2022 17:50:36
It would be awesome to challenge them for the title. As long as the matches were a little cleaner. Cheers for the reply Ed. Much appreciated mate.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

11.) 30 Dec 2022 18:39:34
Hi I miss the days of our friendly rivalry and for me I would love to see Everton 2nd every season in the league to Liverpool. My grandad was a huge blue he even hated one of my aunties ex’s as he had a resemblance to Ian Rush. My Nan is a massive red my grandad was blue and derby day was a great experience growing up . My grandad unfortunately has passed away now but Everton have been amazing regarding this they put his name and picture up on the screen and actually gave me a signed shirt which I will put on the wall with a picture of him . I have never hated Everton I used to go Goodison with him regularly but I was always a red from birth . I understand most of the toxic behaviour now stems from Heysel but I much prefer the friendly Derby but I fear those days are long gone . I worry for Everton this year as I feel they are going down as they don’t have a talisman to keep them up . I hope they stay up and like I said for me Liverpool champions and Everton 2nd every year will do me it’s good for the city to have us both challenging. Sorry for the rant and a happy new year to you all red or blue.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think it stems from heysel dan, i believe its a social problem that stems from a general lack of respect from the modern generation, banter has been replaced by violence and toxic chanting by both sets of fans mate which has ended my love affair with the derbies, i have not been to one for over 10 years and will not go to one ever again..

12.) 30 Dec 2022 19:00:16
I agree there is a very toxic side to it all now mate . I haven’t been to a Derby since the gerrard hat trick and that got rough later in town . It’s a shame . I wish you well mate always hope you stay up.

{Ed025's Note - cheers dan..

13.) 31 Dec 2022 02:22:54
I’d like to see Everton do well. It’s good for the city to have two successful clubs. Maybe we should throw them a Caribou Cup every now and then so they don’t fall too far behind.

14.) 31 Dec 2022 07:42:44
Being serious for a bit I think that the art of verbal communication is dying not least due to the rise of social media.

Take this thread for instance : I’m physically remote and am communicating through a keyboard. All (or virtually all) subtlety of meaning or nuance in tone is easily lost and because of that the actual underlying meaning of what I am saying is very easily lost too. Sarcasm, irony, self deprecation and good old fashioned banter are easy to miss and the result is that texts / emails etc are often misread and interpreted as (personal) attacks. As a matter of fact I’ve had a couple of instances this week but have been able to resolve genuine misunderstandings amicably but that is not always the case.

In the old days - in the case of the rivalry between the Reds and the Blues - members of the family and friends and acquaintances actually spoke to each other at home, or work or in social settings like the pub and communicated - took the mickey out of each other, had arguments, laughed at each other and together but most times resolved any minor issues there might be before the got out of hand. The physical connection with real people, rather than a machine and strangers presenting versions of themselves as they would like to be seen rather than as they are, enabled empathy which was all to the betterment of the society we chose to live in.

Society has become increasingly insular and, as Ed025 said, the current generation is a different animal than my (our) generation. These days it is very easy to apportion blame in the cyber world, to present yourself as never having made a mistake and to pass off data (gathered from any number of dubious sources) as knowledge.

Whoops, sorry, got carried away there - time to stop ranting.

They've never conquered Europe
They're never going to stop
Spending loads of money
Pep is a massive flop
Roberto Mancini Pep Guadiola
The fields of Maine Rd
They don't have many supporters
Or games past the semi or quarters
Allez allez allez
Allez allez allez

Let's turn Paris seven shades of Red.

JWT72

1.) 07 May 2022 05:03:12
Was going very well until the second half of the verse. That said, the sentiment is spot on.

2.) 07 May 2022 07:29:20
My effort

They've never conquered Europe
They never going to stop
From porto to Madrid
They always f*** it up
Their ground is always empty
The fields of the emptihad
They only have two supporters
Those t*ts the Gallaghers
Allez allez allez!

3.) 07 May 2022 07:39:30
Lets not sing songs about other clubs lads - its classless and best left to the likes of Everton and United.

4.) 07 May 2022 09:33:31
Here Here.

5.) 07 May 2022 09:33:57
Agree with you Kemlyn. We're better than that.

6.) 07 May 2022 10:18:56
Celebrate our triumphs not others misfortune. Much better karma all round. Turn Paris red and enjoy a May quite like no other. You can do this boys, you’re on a roll.

7.) 07 May 2022 10:20:43
100% agree Kemlyn. We sing songs about OUR club not other club's lad's YNWA.

8.) 07 May 2022 10:25:43
Don’t sing songs about phantom clubs but don’t ever forget city players singing about our club and Sean cox? Tramps!

9.) 07 May 2022 11:07:39
Completely agree with these sentiments.
But I will raise a glass if Everton get relegated.

10.) 07 May 2022 11:16:13
What goes around comes around. Always. Let them sing what they want. We show our class and sing about our club. We've always stood for certain things. That should never stop. Couldn't give a truck load of horse manure about the others.

11.) 07 May 2022 11:36:02
Presumably the people making up songs are not 8.Time to act our age.
There's a few reasons our wonderful club is despised one our success and the unneeded silly chants and songs.
Just enjoy our team while you can as our current fortunes won't last.

12.) 07 May 2022 12:09:12
It's just a joke, I wasn't suggesting for a second we start belting it out on the kop 😂.

13.) 07 May 2022 13:20:34
WYred - have you not heard. Jokes aren't allowed anymore

But I get the feeling off the floor. Staying classy is always a true reflection of a real champion.

That being said, life's not that serious man.

14.) 07 May 2022 15:25:00
Good luck to anyone trying to fit singing Roberto Mancini, Pep Guardiola, the fields of Maine Road to that tune 😂.

15.) 07 May 2022 15:26:48
Here do City really have a song about Sean Cox?

16.) 07 May 2022 15:44:19
They sang battered on the streets blah blah it’s about Sean cox.

17.) 07 May 2022 16:02:24
Tramps Jay just tramps.

18.) 07 May 2022 17:35:48
Walter, do you ever get any sunshine at all, where you live? Just wondering.

19.) 07 May 2022 18:35:30
Barry if I remember correctly the players sung it on a plane. Can't remember after which game.

20.) 07 May 2022 20:10:06
Indeed I do Aray. I just think such things really put our club in a bad light.
Least not forget we got owners that have made us look bad not so long ago. A few players have had off field problems we don't need the fans to add to our bad name.

05 May 2022 14:23:19

29 Jan 2022 11:44:21
Everton should consider Tony Bellew as manager, Liverpool born and bred, Everton fan, also would make them punch above their weight.
Alternatively they could appoint Jesus and change their name back to St Domingos as they could do with a miracle or some divine intervention.

JWT72

1.) 29 Jan 2022 12:36:59

3.) 29 Jan 2022 13:16:22

4.) 29 Jan 2022 14:12:59
They should draft in Goofy or Pluto as I’m sure both have past experience running a Mickey Mouse club.

5.) 29 Jan 2022 14:51:36
Lampard as Everton manager?

Championship beckons😁.

{Ed025's Note - you wish yuri...bitter or what?..

6.) 29 Jan 2022 15:15:10
To be fair, I think Tony Bellew would end up chinning half of them.

7.) 29 Jan 2022 16:26:22
Come on though Ed025, the recruitment of Lampard isn’t exactly an inspirational choice. He ballsed up massively at Chelsea with a better squad and almost unlimited funds. Honest opinion, you should have gone for Allardyce or Duncan Disorderly for the remainder of the season. Stay up by winning ugly and regroup over the summer. Genuinely can see it going belly up with Lampard.

{Ed025's Note - hopefully you are wrong VVVV, hes young, knows the league and will attract players i think mate, every choice we had had their downside but im quite content with the choice..

8.) 29 Jan 2022 18:32:50
Did Lamport have money at Chelsea? I thought he was incharge the season where they was transfer banned. May be wrong.
Reckon he'll do better than big Sam and Roy Hodgson.

9.) 29 Jan 2022 18:38:58
Jay Dub, I got that was banter 😀.

10.) 29 Jan 2022 20:44:10
Magico, he literally spent about £220M+ buying Havertz, Werner, Chilwell, Ziyech, Mendy as well as Sarr and Silva on free transfers. So he had loads to spend. The Everton supporters are not a forgiving bunch and if he doesn’t get off flying quickly, it’ll be a very short appointment.

{Ed025's Note - oh ye of little faith..

11.) 29 Jan 2022 22:23:49
I try not to banter Everton that much anymore. Punching down is pretty lame and embarrassing.

12.) 29 Jan 2022 23:46:58
Lads it was banter im only seeing this now 🙆🏻‍♂️.

13.) 30 Jan 2022 15:23:39
I’ve heard that Fat Frank has said he doesn’t want Big Dunc on the staff and the big man is furious about it.

I would also like to know what being ginger has to do with it.

Having been tormented as a kid for the colour of my hair I call out anyone who abuse people with ginger hair.

It's one of the reasons people with ginger hair have a fiery temper.

Is it any different to abusing someone for the colour of their skin.
