Someone posted about superstitions yesterday, well I don't have any as such but I've watched each match of this competition with my 8 year old son.
I've kept him back from his mums for a day, I've let him stay up way too late but not only can I not risk watching the final without him, seeing the range of emotions and the jubilation on his face means watching it with him means more to me than watching it anywhere else, or with anyone else.
Win or lose the final, thank you LFC for the joy you've given my son, and for the father son memories you've created.

Great post mate.

2.) 03 May 2018 10:16:19
My son watched the first half with me before his mum took him to bed at half time. Given the difference between half time and full time scores needless to say that won’t happen again!

Cheers.

3.) 03 May 2018 10:57:39
4.45am with me and my two boys 10 &12 downunder. I always remember European nights watching on ITV from 34 years ago as a young teen. Memories never leave you.
God, Liverpool are a great club, you just can’t explain properly to my Aussie work colleagues.

4.) 03 May 2018 11:43:59
JTRed mate, with you all the way. The wife finally gave in around the quarters and allowed my 8 year old to stay up and watch. in a very specific spot on the couch. He's been the lucky charm :)

5.) 03 May 2018 12:17:05
Then it's settled lads, nobody's child goes to bed again until the final 👍 Sorted.

It's not a criticism as such but Karius doesn't need to come rushing out for that, does he?

JTRED91

1.) 01 Apr 2018 18:28:38
not really but we won so it doesn't really matter in the end
lets not forget the save from zaha as well.

2.) 01 Apr 2018 18:48:39
He made a decision and committed 100% to it.

I can’t criticise him for that, 9 times out of 10 he would get the ball first. Good on him I say 👍.

3.) 01 Apr 2018 20:05:10
Yeah zahas real quick I'm not stressing about it.

4.) 01 Apr 2018 20:09:43
If Zaha had been more accurate then Karius could have made a great save. I thought Karius was excellent at the weekend, one of our best players.

5.) 02 Apr 2018 00:21:34
If he had come out half a second sooner, he would have had a boot in his face and Zaha would have seen red. It actually wasn’t that different to Mane/ Edinson (? ), apart from Zaha didn’t make contact.

6.) 02 Apr 2018 04:58:54
cant say i disagree with Ron there, too many times have i seen mignolet caught in two minds, if your going for it, go for it, if your not then have a plan.

he went out because he thought he'd get to it first. on another day it couldev been a good save.

7.) 02 Apr 2018 09:05:57
I agree Salah. We need to be careful always picking at our keepers. The media do enough of that for us!
It was a mistake but not a glaring one. A glaring one would be lloris coming out for a cross and completely missing it for Morata to nod into an empty net but because it’s Hugo Lloris not too much is said.
Karius is doing really well I’ve been impressed with him.

8.) 02 Apr 2018 12:15:25
Spot on, boys. Karius' mistake is NOT a mistake. He made a judgement call and went in full pelt. I'd rather that than a GK who is always caught in two minds and does neither. Apart from that, Karius had a very good game and had it not been for him, the pen would have gotten us 2 down. Let's remember that.

I can understand people wanting players rested for the Everton game, but realistically, if we don't win are you all prepared for Ron to become all mopey and sad again? He was like negative reds little brother for a while ;)

JTRED91

1.) 23 Mar 2018 20:47:46
Ron is a hero.

2.) 23 Mar 2018 21:24:29
😄 it’s all about priorities isn’t it? Surely my state of mind is more important than our champions league progress 🙂.

The CL represents our only chance of a trophy this season so it makes sense for Klopp to prioritise that match 🤝.

3.) 23 Mar 2018 21:36:26
There’s no way we can rest players against Everton, unless Chelsea lose and we win our next game. There’s too much riding on it.

4.) 23 Mar 2018 22:37:57
Personally I'd rest Firmino, stick Ings in for the 90 minutes. Have Salah on for about 60 minutes. I'd also rest Robbo and stick Moreno in.

5.) 23 Mar 2018 23:38:24
Nice post, OP. Also good to know Ron knows what his priorities are, lol. He was inconsolable the last time I felt like hugging him.

6.) 24 Mar 2018 01:05:15
Let salah get 2 or 3 then pull him out. Guy needs a rest.

7.) 24 Mar 2018 03:16:21
Sorry but full strength for me then take players off when we lead.

8.) 24 Mar 2018 03:44:59
We don't have the luxary of being able to rest players. If we somehow dropped points to that lot then Chelsea would be right on our tails with good fixtures to come. Play our first choice 11 from the start, let them destroy Everton and then take off the fab 3 after 60 odd mins.

9.) 24 Mar 2018 06:05:49
City have Utd that weekend. They won’t be resting players.

Let’s hope Utd make it really tough for them and take the edge off for us. I really would be tempted to rest the King. That away goal is vital and how many times have Everton injured our players over the years? It was Mane last year.

{Ed025's Note - i like to see liverpool supporters become united lovers even if its only for selfish reasons mr plums, so what your looking for is for united to give their all against city and for everton to roll over and not tackle too hard in case one of the glass virgins in the liverpool side gets a nasty bruise?, good luck with that mate.. :)

10.) 24 Mar 2018 08:31:41
We should rest some for me. Not sure who but I'd hate to see any of our front three unavailable! We can beat them squad wise surely?

11.) 24 Mar 2018 08:37:51
Mr Plums, as much as I like Salah there is only one King at Liverpool FC.

12.) 24 Mar 2018 20:37:39
Play the ground staff against Everton still take the points.

13.) 25 Mar 2018 03:58:04
We haven't played many domestic cup games. It's not like our players have had a gruelling 60 odd game season so far. We now have a decent size squad and can put out two different teams almost.

I expect us to try and kill the game off by half time so we can bring off Firmino and salah. Wouldn't be surprised if moreno started against Everton and Hendo is rested.

Everton are the last team I would want to play before our massive quarter final. They will try to break salah leg or even worse knock one of Firmino's Teeth out.

07 Mar 2018 18:58:56
I like to think of last night as a good test run. We'll be forced to put in disciplined performances if we're to progress in Europe, and this had a fairly typical away leg feel to it.
Also, I loved watching Ings last night. Really added something different, I'd like him to sign an extra year or two if he's happy to play back up to Bobby. I really feel he can cause problems, and his attitude and application is superb.
Well done Liverpool, well done Danny 👌.

1.) 07 Mar 2018 21:22:14
Ings is not good enough for us.

2.) 07 Mar 2018 21:44:05
Ings is definitely good enough, just needs more than 10-15 minutes here or there. He is a good option off the bench currently and seems content in that role. He still has the ability, just needs to rebuild his confidence. Fella has had back to back long term injuries and will take time to rediscover his flair.

3.) 07 Mar 2018 22:55:34
Deserves his liverpool chance.

4.) 08 Mar 2018 08:41:46
As a fan I would love to see Ings get another season at Liverpool without injury to see if he can make something of himself in the first team. Whether he wants to do that or not is another question.
I didn't know much of him when he was at Burnley but there were a few occasions against Porto where he had some really nice touches and played confidently out wide to Lallana. Plenty of running in his tank as well. Give him a chance!

{Ed025's Note - sell him to rochdale and move on for me..

5.) 08 Mar 2018 12:27:34
I have to disagree about ings, he has spent most of his time with us injured and when he is fit he's not the level of quality we need. I know people will say he's a good back up but the answer is he's not good enough, we need someone quality to rotate with firmino, mane and salah. Same can be said for lallana.

Disappointed in Mignolet, I'll be honest.

He's been first choice for years, and never really improved. The same guy who took so long over a GK last season (or season before) we thought he was going to get a red card, the same guy who took a striker out to stop him scoring with the game at 1-0 at 40 mins, Which could easily have cost us the points, could go on and on, but if you work hard, I'm willing to forgive mistakes.

What disappoints me, is that he's now on about leaving because he isn't first choice.
He's done nothing to command the number 1 shirt, and as soon as its time to hard work, as soon as its time to try and earn the shirt, he wants to run. Talking about playing at the WC is laughable, he's not playing ahead of Courtios whatever club he joins.
I'm happy for him to join another club, I'd just like to see more fight and less run from our players,
Maybe there's a point I'm missing,

JTRED91

1.) 16 Jan 2018 13:42:02
The only thing you're missing is the old saying about gift horses and where not to look.

2.) 16 Jan 2018 13:44:10
To be fair I think he knows his time is up in the summer anyway, he’s fought for the no.1 spot for ages and I think he’s just recognised it may be the end of the road.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 13:46:25
im happy if he's leaving.

Let's be honest, that's mouthwatering.

JTRED91

{Ed001's Note - just to point out, as someone else dealt with Harry's nonsense, there has been no hype around Ceballos, he is, as usual, talking crap. Barely no one on here knew his name before he was linked with us. Since then all the questions have been along the lines of 'who is he?' 'what does he play like?' etc, rather than 'wow, I hope we sign him' as there has been NO HYPE.}
