Hi was just wondering what happens day-to-day with someone like Van Dijk who has a long-term injury? How would he fill his day when he is not playing? e. g. can he do some upper body training perhaps? Must be fairly boring if he is not involved with the team.

Some complaining about LFC not spending, but no one is really spending in this window so far. Any particular reasons why?

Invented_by_Craig_Johnston

{Ed0333's Note - all bodes well for a busy transfer deadline day.

Bet Jim White is fizzing at the bunghole.

Will City did its spending in an area they needed strengthening, Spurs did some spending probably not enough, and their best business will be to keep hold of their best player . and them 2 are our main competition (spurs sort off) , who cares what the like of Arsenal, United or Chelsea are doing, their target is top 4 . Our target is the title .
I am not saying we should've gone out and spent willy nilly . I think Klopp and the club wanted to do some business but the right player or a suitable deal could not be found .

{Ed0333's Note - I think the players we wanted didn’t want to come and sit on the bench.

just means the Babel- copter will be flying all over the country on deadline day.

4.) 29 Jul 2019 07:52:20
A few window shots of redknapp.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 08:47:47
Keita and Shaqiri back in training will give us more options :)

6.) 29 Jul 2019 09:05:26
City apparently have a €75m replacement lined up for Sane according to BBC football gossip, which would counter the argument that players don’t want to move to perhaps sit on the bench?

7.) 29 Jul 2019 07:52:20
A few window shots of redknapp.

Honestly though? Who in our starting XI can you think of an upgrade? The only one I can think of, is a top centre half to play alongside VVD but that would hinder Gomez' progression and that lad has so much potential. It would be a silly move.

We can argue all we want about the midfield. They do a very specific job and the only player that could improve us there is probably N'Golo Kante (which is obviously a non-starter) .

Mbappe is better than Salah but that's also a non-starter as the guy will have over a quarter of a billion price tag and wages to match.

I simply cannot see a viable target to sensibly improve our first XI.

9.) 29 Jul 2019 19:20:53
Juicer, you yourself said that Sane has a rumored replacement that will cost 75m pounds/ euros. If he is Sane's replacement then surely, he can't be happy being on the bench id Sane will go, can he? Your comment makes no sense, bro and counters no argument cos you're not making a logical argument to begin with.

Prediction- Brewster to give Klopp a big headache (in a good way) when he starts scoring and staking a claim for a starting spot. Think he will have a really good season.

Invented_by_Craig_Johnston

{Ed0333's Note - I watched Brewster for the first time today. It wasn’t the best game to analyze him but the very little I saw of him suggests his movement is intelligent and he thinks very quickly. Great traits to have in you’re arsenal for a striker.

1.) 29 Jul 2019 01:39:52
I like Brewster and hope he has a future at Liverpool, but my gut feeling tells me his career will follow the same path as Dominic Solanke.

{Ed0333's Note - I’ve seen Brewster play the sum total of 20 mins and in my humble opinion he’s on a different planet to Dominic Solanke.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 02:39:57
Very different type of striker so comparing them as similar is poor judgement.

3.) 29 Jul 2019 06:36:54
I don't think Brewster is the type of forward that will fit into our formation well. He is the traditional fox in the box and is not influential enough in his all round game. He'll do well for somebody but not Klopp.

{Ed025's Note - its a bit early to presume that RG, yes he may be a bit green but he must have shown some ability in training to be part of the first team squad for the coming season mate..

4.) 29 Jul 2019 08:48:51
Brewster didn't kick a ball for over a year. He has a lot in his locker that will show in time.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 09:32:44
Do not compare King Brewster with Solanke!

6.) 29 Jul 2019 13:08:41
Brewster is nothing like Solanke in terms of his strengths (Brewster is all about movement, acceleration and finishing vs. Solanke being a more classic holding 9). Brewster is much more suited to Liverpool’s style of play.

With all the talk about preseason results it got me wondering what was preseason like in the 70s,80s,90s? I do remember I was at one game where LFC beat Dundalk 1-0 Mcmanaman (I think) possibly 1994 or so. Also have a vague recollection of reading a result LFC 0-5 v possibly Benfica (maybe late 80s) . Anyone any particular memories of preseasons past?

Invented_by_Craig_Johnston

{Ed0333's Note - I cant even remember what I had for dinner on Friday night and you expect me to remember a pre season game from 1978?

1.) 29 Jul 2019 00:53:01
Actually, the season we bought Barnes and Beardsley I can’t recall us winning any of our pre season matches?

2.) 29 Jul 2019 07:53:31
Tns in 2005?

3.) 29 Jul 2019 11:11:30
TNS wasn't a friendly, Champs league qualifier.

4.) 29 Jul 2019 07:53:31
Tns in 2005?
