Morning Eds and Fellow reds.

Looks like Saul isn't being taken up by Chelsea (not surprised as he hardly played)

Is he a player we could still be interested in or has interest now moved on?

Thanks in advance and thanks also for all the continued work you all do 👍🏻.

GouldyTrueRed

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool's interest in Saul has gone.}

I get so sick of the doom and gloom sometimes. Get behind the team .

I feel Joe and Virgil need to start every game now so that they can re-build the partnership again, first 3 league games and 3 difference cb partnerships already. it needs to be settled. Virg in particular needs to have a look at his last couple of games and bring back a little more aggression too.

We'll be fine though guys, confidence is key here, a couple of good results and spirits will be lifted, Darwin will be back hopefully Jota too and suddenly things won't be looking quite so bad!

Injuries at the back don’t help.
I thought this season would be the one where Konate becomes Virgil’s permanent partner at the back.

2.) 26 Aug 2022 11:06:44
We are behind the team but that doesn't mean people should have red tinted glasses on. If a player is not playing well, fans who pay to see them week in week out have the right to say so. We all love this team, we all love JK and what he's has done, we all love our players as they represent us. But when they represent us and serve up the tripe they have the first three games we have a right to say, hang on that is not good enough . We have taken 2 points off three teams, one newly promoted and a yoyo club, one that hasn't finished top 8 for over a decade and one that is in termi al decline.

And when the manager says one week we have answers to our problems within the squad, then the next week says actually he wants more but there are no funds that doesn't help. We as fans have the right to ask what's going on. We are behind the team, we will support them. doesn't mean we have to like it when we get beaten by the worst United team in 30 years, and one that was beaten 4-0 by Brentford the game before. There's support then blindly clapping everything they do.

3.) 26 Aug 2022 11:14:46
Agreed, its not what you post but HOW you post it.

4.) 26 Aug 2022 11:32:51
Thing is Gouldy, it’s a bit difficult to find any positives from those first three games as there was nothing in any of our performances to indicate that they were one offs or isolated poor performances, each one was awful and for very similar reasons in each game. We conceded first in each game, we didn’t create many clear cut chances, we barely tested any of Fulham, Palace or United’s keepers (it’s fair to say they won’t get many easier 90 minutes this season) and we made horrendous consecutive mistakes in midfield and then defence which lead to cheap goals bring almost gifted to our opponents. I can take being beaten by a better opponent or where we’ve come up against a keeper having a worldy (like that time Oblak made some almost impossible looking saves), but where we look so flat, slow of thought, devoid of ideas and play with almost casual indifference then it’s hard to see how to change that.

5.) 26 Aug 2022 11:49:18
Everything Kimuraking said ?.

6.) 26 Aug 2022 11:54:58
Yep I concur. Supporting the team is a two way street. The fans make the effort to go the game, to sing their heart out, to spend their weekend watching their team. Some people even get up at ungodly hours to watch them, all over the globe.

All they ask in return is not that we win every week, but that they give 100%. It is blindingly obvious that most of the players have not done that in these first 3 games. The fans have a right to be critical and to be concerned. The standards have been slipping for a while and the complacency has been creeping in.

Some of these lads need to seriously ask themselves if they’ve got too comfortable, if they feel they’ve won everything there is to win and if they have the hunger to win more. If that is the case, or if they’re experiencing a ‘hangover’ from last season, or if they’re afraid of getting injured from the world cup, then they can sod off. When the injuries clear up, we’ll have a big enough squad to drop players who are phoning it in.

It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you win or lose. Fans aren’t stupid, they can see very clearly the difference between the effort being applied 3 years ago and the effort being applied today. Will they make lots of noise and support the boys on saturday? Of course they will, but don’t take them for mugs.

{Ed001's Note - well said.}

7.) 26 Aug 2022 12:24:55
Good post Anonymous. What sticks most in the craw is the lack of effort and intensity. That is a basic requirement.

8.) 26 Aug 2022 12:28:55
Well said, Anonymous. Agree with every word there.

9.) 26 Aug 2022 14:08:03
Clearly the players haven't been at it for the first 3 games but there has to be a reason? What I'm saying that it's not just 1 or 2 players but essentially the whole team that haven't been putting a shift in.
I refuse to believe they aren't trying, or taking the fans for mugs as been suggested. Why would they? Its the same group that went time and again to win trophies over the last few seasons, this is as professional group of players you will ever get from front to back.
I don't know what the issue is, maybe the training, pre season? I don't know but I can't accept its purposely lack of effort.

10.) 26 Aug 2022 15:02:02
I don’t think it’s purposeful either Irish, I think fatigue is catching up and age too.

11.) 27 Aug 2022 13:52:43
Totally agree. I’m of one those that gets up during ungodly hours. It really is the manner of the losses at the moment. Go run, tackle, close down, chase. I’ll be frustrated if we lose by not converting chances after playing better, but I’ll be angry when they ain’t try hard enough. The last game against utd was clear, they wanted it more hence they won. If we matched their intensity, there’s no way we could have not won that game.

Just play hard and the results will come.

Just a quick one for Ed001.

Did you do a match report on the last game against Athletico? Can't seem to see one?

Hope you're well :-)

GouldyTrueRed

{Ed001's Note - I only do Prem games mate.}

1.) 08 Nov 2021 18:14:29
Swap it round this week Ed001, be easier on the eye watching a re run of the athletico game 😂.

22 Aug 2021 11:34:43
Just wondering how the eds are getting on with their extensive list of players we're not interested in?

If not already added Eds could you add Troy Deeney and Phil Jones. Much appreciated.

I see Sparky as tweeted for the first time in ages. Still struggling to work his tweets out though 🤦‍♂️.

1.) 08 Aug 2021 08:48:36
What does it say mate.

2.) 08 Aug 2021 09:06:58
He's posted twice, the most recent says.

Sparky is trying very hard to remember his French - it is pronounced like Rastafarian milk? Time for an electric brownie and some relaxing Michael Hurley.

3.) 08 Aug 2021 09:12:47
Something about nobby respraying his scooter, Chelsea fans being happy and sparky trying to remember his french. Throw some Rastafarian’s milk in there and it’s fair to say I have no idea 😂.

4.) 08 Aug 2021 09:24:20
I think the Chelsea bit was unrelated. Was hoping the red and white spraying of the moped was Liverpool related but have no clue either lol.

5.) 08 Aug 2021 09:28:01
It also says he's trying to remember his French. Jamaican milk called serge. Serge Gnabry is French. Are we in for him Eds?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

6.) 08 Aug 2021 10:03:45
Ed002 rastafarians don't drink milk, so they may drink almond milk. Initials AM, mixed with the red and white of the scooter. Naby and Saul swap confirmed 😂.

{Ed002's Note - You might want to try the Chelsea page.}

7.) 08 Aug 2021 10:20:49
Maybe Nobby is getting sold.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe it is unrelated to Liverpool?}

8.) 08 Aug 2021 10:27:17
NK to AM. S to C.

9.) 08 Aug 2021 10:47:51
It's unrelated to us, false alarm. Got excited when you mentioned nobby, well played sir.

10.) 08 Aug 2021 11:12:58
I’m thinking the Polish striker Milik (Rasta milk) he was playing in France with Marseille (French) on loan from an Italian club (Italian scooter) 🤔.

11.) 08 Aug 2021 11:17:57
Scooters are Italian, respray is Lukaku back to Chelsea.
Another overpayment to go with the Grealish one.

12.) 08 Aug 2021 11:40:15
Agree Juicer, Putin’s mate has overpaid and Grealish’s price would be overpaying even if there was money available to all clubs. That said, we paid millions for arguably our 7th rated centre back who hasn’t played for us since we bought him.

13.) 08 Aug 2021 12:06:16
Oh well never mind. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

14.) 08 Aug 2021 12:47:54
Aw has sparky switched sides? I always knew him as a fellow koppite street dog not a little corgi chav.

I'd never heard of Daka before but have been checking him out on youtube (not always a concrete source of credibility) but from what I saw he reminds me a lot of Mane. Very fast, strong and decent with both feet. Also still very young. I'd love to see him in our red shirt!

Was just going to say the same thing Ed. I thought he was exceptional and I think what I liked most was how well he read the game and his calmness with bring the ball out of dangerous situations. With regards to Thiago, I was also one that didn't see the need to go for him but wow, what a player. He strikes the ball so well and effortlessly finds a red shirt. I'm very excited to see more of him in midfield.

Just to add to the above, Kelleher also had Trent, Gomez, Matip and Tsimikas in front of him so it wasn't exactly a solid defence!

At the times I've seen Kelleher play he's looked relaxed and calm with the ball at his feet and a more than competent No 2, but, I do think he needs (and deserves) 1st team football. He's too good for the bench.

Ali still has a good few years left in him and he is, in my opinion, still the best keeper in the world right now! What always blows me away is his positioning. You rarely see him making acrobatic saves or being full stretch to tip one round the post because his positioning is so good.

I notice there's a lot of keepers nowadays who fling themselves in the air to tip a ball over the bar that's right above them and I don't really know why they do it?

Love your positivity Davey.

I'm literally in a position now where I'm pinning my hopes on your divination powers and hoping beyond hope that Utd do a massive bottle job! (It has been known! )

If we only get Europa then so be it, it's what we've deserved due to the very poor early season form. It's another European competition so let's win it.

Fingers crossed for a productive summer window.
