So what's going to happen with Sturridge and Origi?

Wouldn't mind keeping one if they were happy to be a backup player. can't imagine either would be worth much money!

GeorgeT

{Ed002's Note - Origi will know is future is away from Liverpool but his season has tailed off rather. Liverpool will look to sell Sturridge but need to be more realistic about the fee.}

1.) 27 Mar 2018 17:03:42
Your last sentence has it spot on George. Time for both to move on IMO.

2.) 27 Mar 2018 17:30:28
I think the only way we get Sturridge out the door is loan next season then his contract is up or we give him a free transfer. as I don't see anyone taking a chance on him with wages and transfer fee.

3.) 27 Mar 2018 17:40:08
Origi might have a couple of suitors because he's young-ish and fit atleast.

Sturridge is incredibly injury prone and will have pretty high wages, I wouldn't be surprised if he was still around next season just because we can't find a new home for him!

We can keep one if they don't mind being nothing more than a squad player.

4.) 27 Mar 2018 18:02:55
I see studge heading to China.

5.) 27 Mar 2018 18:52:20
I agree with Ed. We need to set a lower price for Sturridge because of his injury problems.

6.) 27 Mar 2018 19:14:29
He’s been a good player to the club, who is a terrific talent, doesn’t moan, by all accounts has helped a few players and youngsters settle, a model pro. We should let the lad choose where he wants to go from the offers same as Lucas did and wish him well. Such a shame he had the injury issues or he could of remained at the very top level.

7.) 27 Mar 2018 18:35:23
Would anyone really be that surprised if West Ham bid for Sturridge though.
Origi I do think know what has went wrong, he definitely has the ability to be a very good forward. Back to France maybe and he'll probably bag a hatfull of goals in that league.

8.) 27 Mar 2018 23:34:07
The second half of the season where we got to the final of the Europa, he was looking like the real deal, scored some good and important goals, I hope he gets a chance, but it's going to be one of him ings or solanke for me, and solanke hasn't really had a shot at all.

9.) 28 Mar 2018 07:27:54
I worry that Solanke hasn’t looked at all too impressive, even with his cameos. I hope I’m wrong and I hope the lad gets a good loan next season and stays on. Maybe it’s more a case of him needing to work that little bit harder off the pitch like Harry Kane as opposed to relying on his natural ability.

10.) 28 Mar 2018 10:17:48
Origi would be marketable for teams outside the top 3 leagues, francce or portugal?

Sad about sturridge and all that potential. he's on 120 too apparently and no one will be willing to pay that.

He could also end up pulling a van persie and be injury free next two years and bang the goals in.

11.) 28 Mar 2018 10:36:48
Sturridge is a decent bloke who deserves to be given the opportunity to play elsewhere, but for his injuries he is a fantastic footballer and probably one of the best finishers around at the moment, but our style of play doesn't really suit him and he needs to be at a club that can play to his strengths.

12.) 28 Mar 2018 17:02:07
Sturridge has been long finished we saw the best of him with Suarez and not since. Shame but he has to go too much on the wage bill for a bit part player. Origi I still think has talent but hasn’t progressed enough I would like to see a full season in the prem on loan.

13.) 28 Mar 2018 20:32:01
It amazes me how many fans are so worried bout our wage bill, the club gave him his contract so forget about the wages, they can well afford it,

14.) 29 Mar 2018 00:58:38
Sorry port but glad your not in Finance if that’s your outlook sure let’s pay 100k a week to a bench player so what if we can afford it doesn’t make it good business sense get a grip.

21 Feb 2018 13:30:23
Any truth in the rumours linking us with Mohamed Bahlouli from Lyon?

Seen the same rumours popping up in a few places in the last couple of weeks.

Just a young lad so I'd assume a player for the Under 23s.

GeorgeT

1.) 21 Feb 2018 17:00:17
With a number of players reaching a pivotal age in their careers I believe we will see a drive for young potential to replace those.

2.) 21 Feb 2018 17:01:16
Lad I thought that was ballotelli and crapped myself haha.

3.) 21 Feb 2018 20:43:01
Just thought it would be good to point out that it looks like Mario has finally found a home. He's doing very well over in France by the sounds of it.

23 Nov 2017 13:10:31
Any truth in the rumours that we've enquired about a Jan loan for Draxler?

If so, perhaps as a short term replacement for Coutinho?

GeorgeT

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained previously Draxler is seen as an option. However, there are difficulties with the player right now as he is saying he wants to stay and would like a return to Germany if he leaves. PSG would sell in January and would be open to a loan with a commitment to buy - whether they would be open to just a loan is another matter.}

1.) 23 Nov 2017 13:26:19
Cheers for the reply ed. Would be surprised if he did come in but couldn't be a bad signing

Ta.

2.) 23 Nov 2017 14:35:47
I will be fuming if this happens. Just concentrate on signing some defensive minded players first. Keep adding players like Draxler to the already stacked forward line we have got whilst persisting with the shambles of a defense, and Klopp may well be in charge of the most lopsided and imbalanced LFC squad in history!

3.) 23 Nov 2017 16:14:42
Indian Buzzer, we have Couts leaving mate and we need to replace him. Draxler would be a good move imo. But if he only wants to play in Germany as ed has said then it sounds like a non starter anyway.

4.) 23 Nov 2017 16:42:58
So is it just a loan only we are interested in ed without a commitment to buy? Or not sure at this stage.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, I explained what I know.}

5.) 23 Nov 2017 17:13:27
Not what we need at all, i understand he's a good player, but we have kieta coming in and that defense needs sorting. the owners should put a ban on signing attacking talent till that table football defense and that subbuteo goalkeeper gets adressed.

Been wondering this for a while but not sure how many honest answers I would actually get, I was wondering how many contributers to this site actually have 'connections' at Liverpool FC or perhaps just footballing connections in general?

You get the odd poster on here who is clearly bullshiting but I wonder if any of the regulars are 'ITK'.

Funnily enough I have recently gained a few connections in the world of football but not really anything to brag about and certainly not related to Liverpool.

Hope to find out that MKS is actually Joe Cole's cousin!

GeorgeT

1.) 20 Jun 2018 19:52:59
I played football for a team now in the conference through my teens. They were semi professional back then, so no professional contract was offered and I decided a different career path, now a pharmacist. If only I’d stayed, they are now well backed by Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi and are rolling in cash. A few teammates now play in league football. I still talk to them, and I know a few coaches and one ex-England international (called up, never capped) . Don’t get any information as you’d expect.

2.) 20 Jun 2018 19:59:02
Being a former pro myself I keep in contact with absolutely no one. On a serious note edd 1 and 2 have contacts and I believe tomato squares is the brother of Joe gomez. Apologies if incorrect but I think I am correct.

3.) 20 Jun 2018 20:02:41
Couple of players from my boys team went on to play professionally, not in the prem though and I don't see em much these days.

I think mks just knows his football, he's a shrewd tactician and would probably be brilliant as liverpool manager!

Ed01, ed02 and macca definitely have some inside info and carragold knows his stuff.

I think I've spoken for everybody, I'm off to meet Angela murcall.

4.) 20 Jun 2018 20:04:07
You say the odd poster is bullshitting?
I'd say the odd poster is genuine. Most indulge in speculation, and over a transfer window there's a good few who clearly just invent stuff. Then that causes aggro for the poor Eds who do a damned fine job and can do without it.

5.) 20 Jun 2018 20:34:15
Childhood friend who I used to play football with and lived on the same street as me went on to play in the Premier League and have a decent international career, although he was a few years older than me and has recently retired but now does a fair bit of punditry on tv.

6.) 20 Jun 2018 20:34:17
I have no inside info whatsoever and I doubt many on here do. I’m not even on here to find out about possible transfers I just like chatting footy and sharing opinions.

7.) 20 Jun 2018 20:40:36
I’ve never pretended to be ITK, because I’m not ITK, never have been or ever will be ITK, just love this site, that’s all folks.

8.) 20 Jun 2018 20:49:26
Oh, may I add I have no inside knowledge and wouldn't want it any other way. Love it when Ed2 confirms our interest in a player or Macca appears out of nowhere.

9.) 20 Jun 2018 21:00:54
I have no inside information at all, even though I am related to Zidane. He doesn't speak to anyone in the family since we all got Materazzi tattooed on our bums for banter. He didn't take it well at all.

10.) 20 Jun 2018 22:09:37
Ken on the Man United page is actually Jamie Carragher dad 🤫.

11.) 20 Jun 2018 22:26:04
Not quite my brother mate lol.

12.) 20 Jun 2018 22:30:00
A friends husband works for the club very high up (don’t get any decent exclusive info from them so don’t ask)
Another friend used to go out with a famous ex player, also still knows several other ex players very well.
I get to meet current and ex players and managers through my job, Sterling, Reina. Macmanaman, rush and dalglish being memerable.
Get to meet current and ex players and managers for other clubs as well, again through Work, Ronaldinho, Messi, Ronaldo, Cannavaro, Rooney and fat sam being the biggest names.
Got to meet Abi Clancy once as well 😍
Showing off now 😁.

13.) 20 Jun 2018 22:43:31
Mike Marsh is a relative and never tells me anything.

14.) 20 Jun 2018 22:43:40
I have no connections whatsoever to Liverpool sadly. I used to watch a lot of Irish premier league matches with the old chairman of bray wanderers before it all went terribly wrong with the club.

15.) 20 Jun 2018 22:43:41
I played in the youth Bundesliga and for a Bundesliga reserve team but no connections Liverpool related.

Im normally just posting stuff when it’s Bundesliga related as i just know where to look for reliable infos and British media get stuff wrong when it comes do Bundesliga players most of the time. :D.

16.) 20 Jun 2018 22:48:02
Bit of both, connections and ex-players who are on friendly terms. Not in the know though, most of them speculate as much as people on here 🤝.

17.) 20 Jun 2018 22:48:30
I used to play semi pro football for Scarborough and have two friends that work at hull city, one as a coach and one as a physio.
I’m itk on a few hull transfers but that’s as far as it goes.
As for Liverpool I just use Macca and the Ed’s.

18.) 20 Jun 2018 23:44:28
My contacts are sadly now passed away. My grandfather was best friends with Sir Alf Ramsey. I remember once asking him to manage my five a side team but he politely turned me down.

My grandfather used to get free tickets for every Wembley game including our European Cup win in 1978!

19.) 20 Jun 2018 23:49:42
No connections at the club. Know a couple coaches/ ex players around semi pro and soccer schools, mainly goalkeeping coaches, (who seem to all know each other around the game) . Get very few bits worth repeating from them, from what I've heard Pope is reasonably well thought of, Kasper Schmeichel thinks he's better than his old man (apparently everyone laughs at that one) . Also get a few bits from ITK people at a lower level south London club but zero use to LFC supporters.

20.) 21 Jun 2018 00:09:43
Don Mcalistair who played for Spurs, moved into a resort complex in Queensland and used to be good for a chat, mostly about the good old days when he played alongside Hoddle, Villa and Ardiles. He was still in touch with Ardiles. I went to school with a lad called Rhys Wilmot, very good rugby player but wisely chose soccer and kept goal for Arsenal, mainly as backup but good stopper. Think he ended up in plymouth but no longer in touch so no info there-bugger.

21.) 21 Jun 2018 00:31:35
For 1985mikey1985 - just wondering what Messi, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho were like when you met them?

22.) 21 Jun 2018 01:42:50
There is a lot of the people who post rumours that are ITK. they all have the same contact too, the fat kid from Bolton 😂.

23.) 21 Jun 2018 01:58:56
No connections but a do have a good friend that went to high school with and still friends with a former Leicster City player (he was part of their title winning squad) . Said player is actually from your town MKS.

24.) 21 Jun 2018 07:03:40
What a nice little thread this was! Cheers guys, interesting stuff.

25.) 21 Jun 2018 08:06:28
Bennett Jnr, I know who you are talking about. How is he finding life under Roy Hodgson 👀 I assume you studied at Oakgrove then?

26.) 21 Jun 2018 08:33:39
I use to know a German dinner lady who's mother in laws, aunties, neighbour use to go to school with the brother of Jurgen Klopps, uncle's, barber who has a shop next to the butchers that Jurgens mum use to go to hen visiting her brother, and she said that our managers mother doesn't give any information away regarding transfers.

27.) 21 Jun 2018 09:09:39
My mother's cousin has a sister who married a girl who's brother had a son. He married a girl, her cousin does all the recruiting.

28.) 21 Jun 2018 09:32:28
@adam.
Ronaldo is a nice fella, quite friendly, the whole universe revolves around him though, he was with Nani at the time and he may as well of been invisible. Lol
Messi was really young, maybe 20-22 So can’t really remember much other than that he was quite shy and timid.
Ronaldinho had this Star like quality to him, like an aura, I was so star struck I didn’t even say hello.
Rooney is a strange one, completely unlike what you expect, really shy and quiet, if you met him you would think he was a really nice fella, he was going red just talking to me he was that shy.
Pepe Reina probably has more personality than all the other players I’ve met put together.

29.) 21 Jun 2018 09:53:17
Want to swap careers mikey? lol.

30.) 21 Jun 2018 10:26:02
@MKS I had a feeling you would know 😉 as far as I last heard he was happy. In part due to certain pressures put on him and former teammates that go beyond the football pitch but also due to certain players almost being bullies in the way they would dictate to the rest of the team (particularly the younger players would get this treatment) . I cannot go into more detail unfortunately (not on a public forum anyways) .

The last time I saw said player he was back 'home' and we was in the barber shop. He actually paid for everyones haircut in the shop which was nice.

The only thing I have heard for certain at his current location is that the players are 'encouraged' to go with certain 'advisors' for the good of their careers. Again i cannot go into more details at this time unfortunately.

31.) 21 Jun 2018 11:43:15
No worries Bennett.

Nice to hear a story of a local lad giving back though. He clearly didn't forget where he came from.

I won't press you for anymore details as it sounds like a couple of tricky subjects!

32.) 21 Jun 2018 13:39:51
@Salah
I’ve seen you post about your job on here so no thanks 😂😂😂
Meeting players and managers isn’t all that exciting to be honest, they are usually incredibly boring and disappointing.

33.) 21 Jun 2018 16:40:30
Haha I don't blame you mikey mate!

20 Jun 2018 12:38:02
Hot of the press!

Dom Solanke has just bought a new car, a Mercedes V-Class and it probably cost him about £80k.

Perhaps he needed a better car to travel to a new club because we're selling him!? or maybe he is spending the bucks because he's about to be given a new lucrative contract? Maybe he needs a bigger car because LFC are signing his England under 21 teammate Tammy Abraham and Tammy will be house-sharing with Dom!?

Or maybe he just wanted a new car.

Eds please let us know what's going on here, don't leave us fans in suspense, what does this all mean!?

GeorgeT

1.) 20 Jun 2018 12:56:47
He's done a Raheem and is suddenly surrounded by children ;-)

2.) 20 Jun 2018 12:58:04
It means he has too much money 🤝.

3.) 20 Jun 2018 13:37:10
Lease plan.

4.) 20 Jun 2018 14:27:53
He won last weeks spot the ball competition.

5.) 20 Jun 2018 18:51:51
They cost around £45,000 and at least it's not a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

6.) 20 Jun 2018 19:28:26
It's a custom one hsf, PlayStations and tvs and fridges and all that. Just as an FYI!

12 Jun 2018 13:02:37
This site seems so busy at the moment! Whenever I think of something to post I realise that about 100 other people have just posted the same thing! Not literally 100, that would be mad, but a few, 3 or 4 people maybe.

Anyway, I have decided that I do not care who we sign this summer. Fans have no input on who the club buy and so there's no point stressing out about it. I reckon that Klopp and his background boys know what they're up to and I trust that all will be well whoever comes or goes, as long as Firmino isn't one of the ones to go of course.

Last point, isn't it mental that #FSGOUT still pops up on twitter and here sometimes!? Mad

Another last point, well done to Ed, Edd, Eddy, and Edwina for dealing with the nonsense that occasionally pops up on this site.

GeorgeT

1.) 12 Jun 2018 13:48:48
Agreed on the eds, must give up a lot of their free time to keep this place going. So kudos to them.

09 Jun 2018 19:26:40
Looks like Ed1 cursed it. Lyon confirm that the deal is over.

Think balotteli is available.

GeorgeT

1.) 09 Jun 2018 19:48:40
They have not said the “deal is over”

They have said that talks have not been successful.

The transfer window, when it opens, isn’t shut yet (weird sentence 🤪)

2.) 09 Jun 2018 20:24:44
Indeed they haven't Ron, but honestly mate, can you say you see this happening? I don't.
I think another Loic Remy (or is Sylbain Marveaux? Not sure) . Not going to happen, despite tripartite parties' "best" wishes.

Fekir though will move this window, just not to Liverpool. Lyon's statement makes it plain that they'd entertain offers of interest to them.

It was mad when it lasted, but it's over now. Move on.

05 Jun 2018 21:50:37
Ed1 just read your Mike Tyson article, what a nice read that was.

Got to appreciate the articles that you give us for free! I don't know what I'd do without you.

Thanks for all you do sir.

GeorgeT

{Ed001's Note - cheers George, really glad you enjoyed it.}

1.) 06 Jun 2018 08:17:04
yes, i second that Ed001, Iron Mike still might be my favorite boxer of all time, well, him and Kell Brook! and Sugar ray Leonard, Ali, Prince Nas, Eubank Snr, The Dark destroyer, Ricky Hatton, hell, Even Bruno! i guess, im just saying, keep um coming!

Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - Naseem Hamed? He is an odd fish that one. One of the most talented boxers I have ever seen but odd.}

2.) 06 Jun 2018 09:30:45
Yeah I really enjoyed that article too - he's a very divisive character Tyson but, despite his transgressions, I cannot help but feel sorry for him in some way: He lost the only father figure he had whilst still very young; he was used and manipulated by older men in powerful positions and lost a lot of money as a result; and he didn't really have anybody truly looking out for him instead he had leeches out for a meal at whatever the cost. I'm not absconding him from blame for his crimes, he was guilty and he has rightly served the jail time, I just think he had a lot of potential to be both an even greater fighter, and a much better person.

Again excellent article Ed, really interesting - I loved that story about him talking to Ayer at the party.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate. I think that is my favourite Tyson story.}

There is a good chance that Alisson's reps were at Anfield this weekend gone as he was playing there.
Liverpool's representatives likely 'met' various agents and managers from most of the Brazil and Croatia squads.

I still expect Butland to sign at the moment, we've already signed Kieta and Fabinho and perhaps Fekir will come too. Surely we're not going to be able to afford spending an absolute fortune on someone like Alisson as well.

Cheers a lot Ed. Sorry couldn't recall any names being mentioned previously. Don't know of many RBs really so I'm not even sure of who to get excited about! Would be nice to have someone who is more defensive than offensive though I think.

Thanks again!

Assuming we're looking at RBs then? Have my fingers crossed that Matip leaves in the summer! Really not keen on him.

A good right back would be great and could give Gomez support if we bring in someone with experience. also the only area where I can't think of a single player who we've been linked with! Can't even think of many good options myself.

Eds, Any names of RBs we've looked at?

GeorgeT

{Ed001's Note - yes right back, we have looked at hundreds mate, bit soon to get certain names of the likely targets. We have looked at Hysaj, but I would expect him to be out of reach now with Napoli not wanting to sell. The Sociedad right back Odriozola, though he is a bit too attacking for my liking, as he also play midfield. There are a few in Germany, Heinrichs, Elvedi and Weiser and the Leipzig one, whose name I have forgotten. Lots more too though how many of them will even be in the thinking when it comes time to try and buy one I don't know right now. Oh Bilbao's right back.}

To be fair a move to Germany could be very good. He could develop and stay out of the limelight a bit, he'd be watched like a hawk if he broke into our 1st team anytime soon.

What's his contract situation? Is he on a pro contract yet or would he move to Germany on a free (plus compensation ) .

We'd do well to sell him with a buy back clause and maybe get him back in a few years once he's developed a bit more.

Happened in Nottingham Leon. I'm sure an ex-Hull player now living in Nottingham knows exactly as much about Liverpool's transfer activity as Bolton's fat kid.

Forgot to mention that he was also humming '50-50' which probably confirms that Lemar is still certain to join Lfc any day now.

LFC are going all out for attacking midfielders this summer.
