I've never known this website to be so quiet for rumours near a transfer window. Even twitter is quiet! I guess this is what happens when your team is playing well.

Love a good rumour though.

Hoping for a Macca Xmas miracle or perhaps one of those little peaches from Ed2 or his dog.

GeorgeT

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure that there is anything new George.}

1.) 24 Dec 2018 09:39:39
That’s never stopped us before ed.

2.) 24 Dec 2018 11:44:14
Rumour has it there are no rumours.

3.) 24 Dec 2018 10:56:13
Haha nice edit Ed.

14 Jul 2018 13:34:31
Harry Wilson left out of the squad for today's friendly and no mention of an injury or other reason for him to miss out.

Is he off somewhere? Hope not!

GeorgeT

1.) 14 Jul 2018 13:48:39
I suspect with Shaqiri coming in he may well go on a loan.

2.) 14 Jul 2018 13:58:13
Think he is better than Kent or Ojo, would much rather we kept him around for the season.

3.) 14 Jul 2018 14:18:30
I’d rather we manage our youngsters properly and have a plan for their development.

4.) 14 Jul 2018 14:44:11
Kloop has confirmed he us going on loan.

5.) 14 Jul 2018 15:21:26
A year on loan at stoke will be solid. They should by all accounts be near the top of the table. If he can start a full season in a high pressured situation will stand him in good stead.

6.) 14 Jul 2018 16:05:15
As long as they warrant a minimum number of games or starts, I'm happy with the loan to Stoke.

04 Jul 2018 13:00:46
Interesting if we do sign Cillissen before off-loading other keepers, hope we don't get stuck being unable to sell Migs and Ward and go into the new season with too many keeps again!

Eds, I'm assuming that players who are surplus to requirements will be aware at this stage? Mignolet for example won't be surprised if Liverpool sign a goalkeeper as he knows he'll be off?

On a side note, Fabinho seems like a good guy in his most recent interview.

GeorgeT

{Ed002's Note - Typically clubs will inform agents in plenty of time if they are not required any longer. Then you will have those who want to leave then there are those where offers arrive.}

1.) 04 Jul 2018 13:54:58
I personally don’t see the point in offloading Mignolet and Ward to bring in Cillessen. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

2.) 04 Jul 2018 14:16:11
Well, Mingolet doesn't want to say if he's not first choice and should absolutely never be first choice again, so that makes sense.

And if Klopp prefers Cillessen to Ward, that's that all explained.

3.) 04 Jul 2018 18:16:02
My point bring that he’s a terrible keeper and worse than Mignolet. Actually worse.

4.) 04 Jul 2018 18:55:19
Cillessen is a much better keeper than Mignolet. I don't think he's definitely better than Karius though.

5.) 04 Jul 2018 19:10:07
FMS what makes your more qualified to decide that than those employed/ tasked to do the job?

6.) 04 Jul 2018 19:23:22
Naby, FMS knows everything about everybody.

7.) 04 Jul 2018 19:58:14
If you’d ever taken the time to watch Cillessen you’d know he’s a poor keeper who has all the faults of Mignolet and more. The worst Dutch number one for years and certainly not the answer to our goalkeeping problems. Mind you I suppose it depends what you’re after, if you want incompetence, a keeper that flaps at crosses, who is physically dominated easily, has no command of his area, has poor kicking ability and hasn’t played any proper football in two years, then Cillessen is your man.

8.) 04 Jul 2018 20:15:58
It's remarkable how you are able to critically assess him despite that fact that he has hardly played for 2 years, you must watch a lot of Copa del Rey football.
It also remarkable that he won the Ajax player of the year twice in a row despite seemingly being a non-league standard goalkeeper.
I'm sure the people at Ajax and Barcelona will be in touch any day now to learn from your infinite knowledge.

9.) 04 Jul 2018 20:53:33
What I saw of him playing for Ajax and Netherlands is a keeper that gets done easily by high balls into the box, that is easily dominated, has zero command of his area, has poor positional sense and has poor distribution. It’s fair to say he’s one of the worst first choice Dutch keepers for a long time. I’m not fussed about him winning club player of the year, Stewart Downing was Villa’s club player of the year when we signed him and he was great wasn’t he? I’m concerned that we are about to fritter away stupid money on another poor keeper who has barely played any football this last year and doesn’t address any of the shortcomings that Mignolet or Karius have. Of course if you’re happy with another poor keeper then I’m delighted for you.

10.) 04 Jul 2018 21:49:43
I don't presume to know anything about Cillessen, what I do know is if the club wants him then I am happy with that. Ajax must have seen enough in him to play him in the first place and Barcelona must have seen enough in him to buy him from Ajax.
I am willing to keep an open mind about any player we are linked with, I don't think I know everything about every player.

11.) 05 Jul 2018 00:30:37
No he doesn’t. He prefer Cillesson to Karius.

27 Mar 2018 15:34:01
So what's going to happen with Sturridge and Origi?

Wouldn't mind keeping one if they were happy to be a backup player. can't imagine either would be worth much money!

GeorgeT

{Ed002's Note - Origi will know is future is away from Liverpool but his season has tailed off rather. Liverpool will look to sell Sturridge but need to be more realistic about the fee.}

1.) 27 Mar 2018 17:03:42
Your last sentence has it spot on George. Time for both to move on IMO.

2.) 27 Mar 2018 17:30:28
I think the only way we get Sturridge out the door is loan next season then his contract is up or we give him a free transfer. as I don't see anyone taking a chance on him with wages and transfer fee.

3.) 27 Mar 2018 17:40:08
Origi might have a couple of suitors because he's young-ish and fit atleast.

Sturridge is incredibly injury prone and will have pretty high wages, I wouldn't be surprised if he was still around next season just because we can't find a new home for him!

We can keep one if they don't mind being nothing more than a squad player.

4.) 27 Mar 2018 18:02:55
I see studge heading to China.

5.) 27 Mar 2018 18:52:20
I agree with Ed. We need to set a lower price for Sturridge because of his injury problems.

6.) 27 Mar 2018 19:14:29
He’s been a good player to the club, who is a terrific talent, doesn’t moan, by all accounts has helped a few players and youngsters settle, a model pro. We should let the lad choose where he wants to go from the offers same as Lucas did and wish him well. Such a shame he had the injury issues or he could of remained at the very top level.

7.) 27 Mar 2018 18:35:23
Would anyone really be that surprised if West Ham bid for Sturridge though.
Origi I do think know what has went wrong, he definitely has the ability to be a very good forward. Back to France maybe and he'll probably bag a hatfull of goals in that league.

8.) 27 Mar 2018 23:34:07
The second half of the season where we got to the final of the Europa, he was looking like the real deal, scored some good and important goals, I hope he gets a chance, but it's going to be one of him ings or solanke for me, and solanke hasn't really had a shot at all.

9.) 28 Mar 2018 07:27:54
I worry that Solanke hasn’t looked at all too impressive, even with his cameos. I hope I’m wrong and I hope the lad gets a good loan next season and stays on. Maybe it’s more a case of him needing to work that little bit harder off the pitch like Harry Kane as opposed to relying on his natural ability.

10.) 28 Mar 2018 10:17:48
Origi would be marketable for teams outside the top 3 leagues, francce or portugal?

Sad about sturridge and all that potential. he's on 120 too apparently and no one will be willing to pay that.

He could also end up pulling a van persie and be injury free next two years and bang the goals in.

11.) 28 Mar 2018 10:36:48
Sturridge is a decent bloke who deserves to be given the opportunity to play elsewhere, but for his injuries he is a fantastic footballer and probably one of the best finishers around at the moment, but our style of play doesn't really suit him and he needs to be at a club that can play to his strengths.

12.) 28 Mar 2018 17:02:07
Sturridge has been long finished we saw the best of him with Suarez and not since. Shame but he has to go too much on the wage bill for a bit part player. Origi I still think has talent but hasn’t progressed enough I would like to see a full season in the prem on loan.

13.) 28 Mar 2018 20:32:01
It amazes me how many fans are so worried bout our wage bill, the club gave him his contract so forget about the wages, they can well afford it,

14.) 29 Mar 2018 00:58:38
Sorry port but glad your not in Finance if that’s your outlook sure let’s pay 100k a week to a bench player so what if we can afford it doesn’t make it good business sense get a grip.

21 Feb 2018 13:30:23
Any truth in the rumours linking us with Mohamed Bahlouli from Lyon?

Seen the same rumours popping up in a few places in the last couple of weeks.

Just a young lad so I'd assume a player for the Under 23s.

GeorgeT

1.) 21 Feb 2018 17:00:17
With a number of players reaching a pivotal age in their careers I believe we will see a drive for young potential to replace those.

2.) 21 Feb 2018 17:01:16
Lad I thought that was ballotelli and crapped myself haha.

3.) 21 Feb 2018 20:43:01
Just thought it would be good to point out that it looks like Mario has finally found a home. He's doing very well over in France by the sounds of it.

Crazy that even though he is the oldest member of the squad, Milner is always the last one left running in the pre-season lactate tests.
Guy is just a machine.
What are they putting in Ribena these days!?

GeorgeT

1.) 06 Jul 2019 18:40:06
Milner is such a great example of what working harder than anyone else can get you.

28 May 2019 20:07:17
Anyone know if the champions league final will be streamed free on YouTube? Was last year and the Europa league is tomorrow.

Yes mate my sister will be going into induced labour on the night so her husband needed to know too!

Yes mate BT Sport channel on YouTube.

3.) 28 May 2019 20:50:06
Download the app red glory it's the best site for watching matches have it with years it brilliant and the quality is second to none. The only down side is that it's a man utd app but everything can't be perfect.

4.) 28 May 2019 21:39:51
It will be free on BT Sport for everyone.

5.) 29 May 2019 05:29:26
Cheers everyone!

13 May 2019 20:30:42
Bobby Duncan contributed 32 goals and 23 assists this season for the under 18s.

Fairplay, know it's only youth football but nice to see that we have a steady stream of talent coming through the ranks.

Must say that this is the first time in a while that I've actually followed a few of the youth players and I've been impressed with a lot of them.

GeorgeT

1.) 13 May 2019 20:44:23
There’s a goal scored by Hoever for his age group national team v Belgium doing the rounds, scarily skilful, at pace, for a central defender.
That kid looks a real un.

2.) 13 May 2019 20:46:10
It will be interesting if he can keep up a good scoring rate for the u23's. Last year we had McAuley scoring for fun for the u18's he hasn't been able to make the step up.

3.) 13 May 2019 21:18:31
Agree juicer thought he did really well against Wolves in the cup.

4.) 13 May 2019 22:31:31
Hope Paul glatzel steps up also Adam Lewis, the French youth larouci looks really exciting too.

5.) 14 May 2019 03:20:27
Hoever needs to grow a few inches if he is to make it as a central defender. You need to be above 6’2” these days.

19 Apr 2019 20:01:47
Excited by the prospect of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Hendo playing in Midfield with Fabinho behind.

Plenty of energy and passion from the two English lads. Buzzing for AOC to come back!

GeorgeT

1.) 19 Apr 2019 20:24:51
Same, he'll be like a new signing. Plus with Keita starting to look good as well, our midfield is sorted for next season.

2.) 19 Apr 2019 20:53:41
looks really good, however, with Lallana maybe moving in the summer, and Milner too, tho I would try and keep Milly for one more season, I think one more classy midfielder would be needed .

3.) 19 Apr 2019 20:56:28
think a cb, rb, lw cover and striker would push us to be in contention for a quandruple next year.

i mean by that btw, that we can be challenging for all the trophies, winning them is another thing but we need that little bit more in the sqaud for the fa cup and carling cup.

werner, brandt, llorente (socidad) and lala.

sturridge, lallana, milner, moreno, lovren, clyne out.

migs, kehrer, alison.

taa, lala, matip, llorente, vvd, gomez, robertson and kelly.

wij, hendo, ox, keita, fabinho

mane, salah, brandt, shaqiri, firmino, werner,

woudnt mins rabiot if he's on a free.

4.) 19 Apr 2019 21:06:14
Kelly?

5.) 20 Apr 2019 00:00:26
Lloyd kelly from Bristol Salah. Werner’s off to Bayern so no chance, Milly needs to stay and Leeds look like they’ll be in the championship. Llorente I think is left footed so he’d have to play vvds role. Too much upheaval after such a successful season. I think you’re in lala land.

6.) 20 Apr 2019 00:56:57
I doubt Milner would want to leave LFC. He could stay on for Liverpool for another 5 years. Why would he want to spend next season at a club expected to be fighting relegation?

{Ed001's Note - for the same reason I would choose to if the clubs were the other way round and I had the option. Leeds is the team he grew up supporting.}

7.) 20 Apr 2019 03:36:46
Don't think migs still be here next season.

8.) 20 Apr 2019 06:05:50
Hi Ed001 - If I was Milner and if LFC wanted me to stay at Liverpool even if it meant only playing 20 - 30 games a season in various positions I would be OK with that. LFC are on the up, the players we have assembled seem to want to stay, the manager wants to stay, the owners have put the club on a strong financial base and improved the stadium, the team should be in the hunt for silverware these next 5 years and I expect the money to be decent. I know Leeds are his team but he has a decent chance now to stock pile some footballing medals and become a LFC legend - for me that would rank higher than returning to his former club for a couple of extra seasons.

{Ed001's Note - but you are a Liverpool fan so your opinion is irrelevant.}

9.) 20 Apr 2019 06:06:28
Milner could spend the next five years at Liverpool but realistically he's not going to be getting a lot of first-team action. He deserves to play week in, week out, rather than languishing on our bench.

10.) 20 Apr 2019 06:15:03
Cheers lerchy.

08 Apr 2019 10:01:54
Buzzing for next season already!

Fingers crossed we'll have Gomez, Ox, and Brewster available from the start. That's as good as 3 new signing for me! Proven quality and a hit of exciting youth. May even have Wilson in and around the team too.

Don't think we need a big summer for transfers at all, a few will leave and a little bit of depth needed.

Bring on next year!

GeorgeT

1.) 08 Apr 2019 11:46:29
Agree with that. but the great sides always look to strengthen when at the top otherwise you will see your competitors overtake you.

Wan Bissaka and Sessegnon would be great but don’t know if we could get either or both.

2.) 08 Apr 2019 12:29:30
Not sure about Sessegnon, but if Wan Bissaka becomes available we should go all out to try and persuade him to join us. He will have plenty of suitors that's for sure.

{Ed002's Note - Wan-Bissaka is not a player Liverpool has shown any interest in and sure as hell won't be moving to sit on Liverpool's bench. Sessegnon is different in that Liverpool were interested prior to Robertson joining, and he is capable of providing cover on the left-hand side - he struggled to step up the the premier league but he will be moving this summer and it would not be a surprise to see Liverpool look to him again. Spurs, who Sessegnon has identified as the club he wants to play for, and Borussia Dortmund are interested.}

3.) 08 Apr 2019 12:33:36
Tommy Gun I agree, think we should go all out for Wan Bissaka to play/ rotate with Arnold who can be slowly be integrated into midfield. Ryan Sessegnon can provide cover for both Robertson and Mane so would get plenty of game time. 3rd signing I would go for is Julian Brandt to play the 10 role but also provide cover for the front 3.

4.) 08 Apr 2019 14:29:47
Sessegnon would be a good shout as our fullbacks are particularly important in our attack, and as mentioned he can add cover for Mane.

5.) 08 Apr 2019 16:08:47
Ed you mention we may look amd Sessegnon again. Do you have any more info on what the chances are that we will go for him. Is he seen as a plan B if we don't get our target or even if he is seen as the plan A?

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about and I cannot be expected to answer this.}

6.) 08 Apr 2019 17:29:00
I don't know what you did not understand? Is he a target and if so is he seen as priority or is he a plan B if we are not able to get our first choice target for LB?

{Ed002's Note - RTP.

7.) 08 Apr 2019 19:24:45
Sessegnon makes sense. For the past three years, we've signed a player from a club that got relegated. I can't see anyone else that qualifies and would be good enough.

Surely it's now become a tradition for us.

{Ed002's Note - No it is not a traditions, and the kid wants to play for Spurs.}

8.) 08 Apr 2019 18:47:21
Martolfc, chill out man and stop badgering the Ed. Ed02 said that Seesegnon (since we were interested in him before Fulham got promoted) MAY look to him again. The word MAY tells you that it is something we could look to pursue if the opportunity arises. There is NO certainty about it hence, Asking the Ed or anyone else whether he is a target, what the chances we have of signing him if our first choice (whoever that is cos no one knows) or plan B, is he a priority etc., makes little sense at this point. Chill out and watch what happens.

9.) 08 Apr 2019 22:18:31
Deli ali wanted to play for us, doesn't mean that sessegnon will definitely go to spurs. We have progressed above spurs now too, by quite a way, since sessegnon was tipped to join spurs.

I think he would be an excellent signing, being able to play in multiple positions is something klopp likes. If fulham go down, which they will i think, then young ryan will want to leave. Spurs or liverpool, dortmund. If it was me id choose liverpool speaking objectively. Although he would probably get more game time at the other clubs.

Robertson has so much potential, i think he can become a liverpool legend. Does he need stiffer competition? Or is rivalry going to slow down his progression?

{Ed002's Note - It has nothing to do with Alli. Fulham have already been relegated.}

10.) 09 Apr 2019 15:15:26
I’m not saying he’s not a good player and I haven’t watched every Fulham game by any means but what I have seen of sessegnon this season I’ve been really disappointed. Both Palace full backs seem to have had fairly decent seasons. Are there many full backs highly rated in the championship at the moment at all? And is there any interest in Chiswell Anymore from Leicester if there ever was any.

{Ed001's Note - there was interest, Leicester valued him higher than we did and that was the end of it.}

11.) 09 Apr 2019 16:36:48
No, i know ed02. My point was that players don't always end up joining the team they want to. I know there are different reasons for this. I believe the deli ali deal was almost done, but the chairman wouldn't front 8 mil.

Spurs were probably better than us last season or the season before, when sessegnon was tipped to join spurs. He is a young lad, lives in london, probably has for most of his life. And that might be why he favours spurs. But, people mature and liverpool have totally over taken spurs now. I think the kid should come to us.

I didn't know fulham were relegated. Amazing considering the money they spent. I like shurrle, i think he is versatile and can cover multiple positions. German too.

{Ed002's Note - Spurs want to buy him, Fulham want to sell him and he wants to play for Spurs. If Liverpool want to change that then they need to approach Fulham; they haven't.}

2nd choice goalkeepers get so few minutes, especially at lfc currently, that I think it makes sense to promote someone like Grabara to number 2. If we get some lucky draws in the cup competition then perhaps he can get some early games against lesser teams where there will be less pressure anyway.

We can then bring in a 3rd choice who is perhaps a much older player on a free who had a lot of experience and would act almost as an additional goalkeeping coach.

If we play Fabinho CB and Milner RB then we are left with only Hendo and Kieta in midfield as Gini is also injured.

Appreciate the info, even if half the stuff you say turns out to be nonsense it's still nice to have some rumours to read once in a while!

Looking forward to the window opening now so we can have more rumours flying round this site, perhaps a visit from our old pal Macca, and maybe even some cryptic messages from the mystical wonderdog Ed2.

This squad took us to 2nd in the league with a huge amount of points, plenty of goals scored and very few conceded. Oh and a champions league final win.

We're not going to suddenly get relegated if we don't buy anyone new!

If anything, I feel like they'll be a real winners atmosphere and sense of confidence in the dressing room now. We don't NEED to buy anyone.
