Gutted on vvd but now we must make a statement by going and getting salah, mendy, keita, pereira? Full backs should be number 1 priority in my eyes that's our Biggest problem as we are so narrow at times and need attacking full backs for width which is why we struggled against the teams that sat back and defended against us! Is there a centre back you think we could look to now? Would love to hear your thoughts on where we go from here eds?

{Ed025's Note - lindelof looks good to me frosty..

1.) 07 Jun 2017 23:11:44
I thought he's off to United ed.

{Ed025's Note - they are in for him brazil but as we know with transfers can change very quickly mate..

2.) 07 Jun 2017 23:23:00
Been saying VNL since january, Ed025, and not just because I'm swedish. A John Stones that actually can defend. Steal him from them!

{Ed025's Note - he looks good andy and would be in the same price bracket as VVD i would imagine so why not..

3.) 07 Jun 2017 23:23:20
Lindelof is going to the Mancs Ed025. Funnily enough they'll get him too. Because even Woodward looks competent compared to our shower of sh*t administration!

{Ed025's Note - probably FMS but thats the calibre of player you need mate..

Crazy transfer season! For me we should be going in for mendy ( probably the best left back that's ready for first team) & salah. our problem last season was the bottom half of the table sides. The sides that sit deep and we struggle against so adding pace which we lacked when mane was away and out wouldn't seriously improve us and mendy would provide not only good width but good defensive cover. Salah who would run in behind and stretch team which leaves more space for our midfield/ attackers and mendy would add width and make the pitch bigger to give more space, he might also put a left foot cross in ( instead of the usual Milner cut back on to his right classic) what you think eds?

{Ed025's Note - sounds good to me frosty..

Just watching the Monaco vs city game. Some of these Monaco players look good. mendy the left back only 23 making it look easy. Bakayoko he is a monster in the middle two players who would strengthen us. Even lemar who take them in a heartbeat! We need more pace and power what we have been lacking all season. thoughts eds?

You are the missing the most skilful player, Bernardo Silva.

2.) 15 Mar 2017 21:55:33
Didnt think bernado silva was as good tonight. He was outstanding in the first leg at the emptyhad. Bakayoko is an absolute beast in midfield. Is our interest in him legit?

3.) 15 Mar 2017 22:03:11
I was so hoping to hear Ed2 say in his latest sharkopod that Bakayoko or Fabinho were coming to us but sadly not. Big reason why Monaco is really giving it to Ligue1 this year. But apparently ManU are sniffing around Bakayoko so we might well see from the wrong vantage point why people are raving about him as the next Kante.

{Ed002's Note - Baskayoko is iof interest to several sides but the high-end clubs have been set back by an asking price well off the chart. Fabinho has been of long term interest to Barcelona who would have liked to have taken him at some point in 2016 but that interest had drifted and they have their eyes on someone else now. Monaco previously made it clear they were open to a sale but interested clubs, includin Arsenal, had baulked at the asking price - set high as part payment will be due to Fluminense and Paulinia - although Chelsea were told by Vasilyev that Monaco want to keep Fabinho. However, this may not deter Manchester United turning their interest in to a firm bid - but the player has suggested it would be Manchester City that he would prefer. I would discount the previously interested Inter Milan and Chelsea but both Manchester City and Barcelona could also show interest - but he is not first choice for either.}

4.) 16 Mar 2017 06:17:20
Thanks mate for that. I was fairly certain I had interpreted you as saying ManU were interested in Bakaoyoko but wasnt certain - you really need to work on your Australian so I can understand you better:-)

With the transfer window closing in a weeks time and klopp saying teams not willing to do deals. Hopefully we don't just buy a player for the sake out it e. g. Balotelli just because we cannot get other targets. i for one would be happy to wait for the right players in the summer. (Jonathan tah and Steven n zonzi) my personal choices big strong players whom both can play klopp type football. I think we it's shown over the last few games we are a little short possibly in the wide areas with that pace that mane brings and miss that when we don't have it. i feel we are 2 or 3 players away at this point. What's your thoughts eds?

Frostyboy30

{Ed002's Note - I agree conceptually that clubs need to step back from knee jerk reactions in terms of buying for the sake of it. LAst year we saw Klipperty go for a completely pointless loan - I hope he won't do that again. I do understand that fans crave a player comining in, but it is easy to come to regret that in the summer when the club is stuck with players who are not going to get a look in whilst they are constrained from adding what they need. Klopp is not the smartest cord in the woodpile but it would take one DF to throw money out there to get a short term solution. Maybe Caulker could be available on loan again?}

1.) 23 Jan 2017 21:43:03
Thanks for the reply ed. anyone in particular you would go and get in the summer?

{Ed002's Note - I think the summer is a long way off risht now.}

2.) 23 Jan 2017 21:54:10
Why do you think Klopp is not too smart ed? Do you mean in general (have you met him maybe? ) or just in footballing terms (things like the Caulker deal etc. )

{Ed002's Note - It has not worked - tell me when it has.}

3.) 23 Jan 2017 22:05:09
Could Klopp see a long term plan instead of a short plan and develop Ojo and Wilson. They may not be ready now and we also need players for now but it would be nice if one of them are seen long term .

4.) 23 Jan 2017 22:32:38
Sometimes think long term is used as in excuse. Don't get me wrong think a long term plan is important but have to get there by making steps. So in the short term if splashing £30m-£40m in this window gets us top 4 is it worth it?

Only thing is doing our best to make sure any player brought in improves our first team. Obviously finances restraints hinder this and summer is more important but funnily seem to need the same 3/ 4 positions we always do; CB, RB, wide forward and potentially gk (far too early to judge karius and migns has improved drastically, but still don't have one I'm confident in) .

5.) 23 Jan 2017 22:43:05
In fairness Ed002, there have been 7 managers to win a PL title out of a possible 206 - that's a little over 3%. Of those, only 2 won it in their first full season and none won it with less than a full season. Whilst I don't disagree with you because I don't know the man, I think it not having yet worked out in the PL is a little bit of a harsh reason for saying Klopp isn't very smart!

{Ed002's Note - The Liverpool owners considered they should have bought the Premier League title a couple of times now. I am sure that there are plenty of other excuses you can think of for Klopp not being up to the job as well.}

6.) 24 Jan 2017 00:05:14
What exactly has not worked ed2? has he not improved Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - He hasn't won anything for years - like Liverpool haven't won anything for years.}

7.) 24 Jan 2017 10:20:25
Wasn't having a go ed, was just generally curious.
What hasn't worked, sorry?

{Ed002's Note - Having a way of playing football that will never win the league.}

8.) 24 Jan 2017 11:12:21
Klopp has already mentioned time and again that just buying one player will not fix our current issues. Will buying a winger fro 30m suddenly make Lovren or Klavan stop making silly mistakes? Will that make us more committed and show more fight vs lesser teams? Many seem to think so for some wierd reason.

Panic-buying fixes nothing and LFC are in the best position to know that with examples galore. Any player you get in now, will need time to adjust and when he starts struggling as is normal in the beginning, what happens then? Should Klopp get the blame for getting a player we craved for or will he get slated for getting in the wrong player? See how complicated this is? Klopp has shown that if a player is out there that he needs, he will try to get him in as he tried to do with Alex Texeira last Jan but Chaktar wanted more money.

The man is in a no win situation so he`s doing what he thinks is right and I don`t envy him hence, he gets my support.

9.) 24 Jan 2017 14:29:29
I see lol so again. Has he not improved Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - His win percentage is still below that of Rodgers.}
