Hi Ed's

Have we shown any interest in De Vrij?!

Thanks!

Evyred

{Ed001's Note - yes, but he is very injury prone which has made clubs cautious.}

1.) 21 Jun 2017 16:15:40
He's also very slow, which I can't see suiting our style at all. Turns like a battleship, which might work if we're also signing Navy Keita.

2.) 21 Jun 2017 17:13:06
"He's also very slow"

Says Kvarme 😂.

3.) 21 Jun 2017 18:25:39
Haha, yeah that's fair.

4.) 21 Jun 2017 20:05:36
Vvd will sign i have inside info.

Hi Ed's?

Have we shown any interest in Toby Alderweireld?
In April there were reports saying that he was stalling on a contract because he wanted similar wages with Kane (reportedly £110k/ week)
He's as good (if not better) as Van Dijk.

Evyred

{Ed001's Note - it doesn't matter, he is looking for a new contract, not a move, right now.}

1.) 05 Jun 2017 13:40:14
Now that is one CB id happily spend fifty to seventy mill on, Add salah and mendy with rest of our supposed budget then player sales to replace clyne and im a happy bunny.

Hi Ed's?
2 queries,

1) Seen that you placed 30% likelihood for VVD deal to happen.
Does that mean, Man City are the favorites to land him, now?!

2) How reliable are football whispers on Skysports?

Thanks and have a great day.

Evyred

{Ed025's Note - it was just a guess EVY based on the price thats being asked...and not very mate..

1.) 04 Jun 2017 09:42:49
EDD'S,
Has VVD actually accepted the deal, or has the offer just been forwarded to his agent, at the moment there's no comment from VVD people or SOTON. does he still have a decision to make.

{Ed025's Note - im not sure where its up to at the moment mate..

Hi Eds?
What's your opinion on Robertson?
Do you expect Milner to play LB next season?

Evyred

{Ed025's Note - for me robertson is decidedly average Evy, milner will only play at left back if liverpool fail to land a proper one mate, and if they do james will become a utility player mainly on the bench..

1.) 01 Jun 2017 02:33:41
Not as bad as Cuco Martina though Ed0025 ;)

{Ed025's Note - he does not exactly fill me with confidence either AG, but i trust in koeman and he must see something i dont and to be fair i suspect he knows a bit more about the game than me...probably.. :)

28 May 2017 12:01:35
Hi Eds?

Does the interest in Naby Keita indicate that more than 1 CM may leave this summer (given a healthy squad depth in that area of the pitch)?

Good to see a bit of humor with the Aubameyang hairstyle.

Cheers.

Evyred

{Ed002's Note - The club can ppotentially add two players with none leaving - after that it is necessary that people depart.}

1.) 28 May 2017 16:18:38
Isn't he a defensive midfielder?

{Ed002's Note - Not really.}

Ed001

I respect your opinion, but Mignole has actually been okay this season.
He kept us in the tie at Hoffenheim.
The position we should revisit is LCB where we have Lovren who's good in the opposition box, but shocking in his.

Do you reckon we'll try and buy a CB?

Thanks, have a nice day.

Evyred

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but okay is lower half of Prem level, if you are happy with that then that's fine, but I grew up watching David James and Migs is as dodgy as he was. He is far too nice and has no fire in his belly, he gives the defence the jitters. If your keeper is dodgy, then so is your defence in front of him, no matter how good the players are. A good keeper breeds confidence in the rest of the team.

I have answered this question just last night and every day since the window opened. Yes we want to sign a centre back.}

1.) 24 Aug 2017 07:07:34
Migs is okay and that is about that. Most outfield player esp. defenders hate GK's cos they are a pain in the behind, always barking orders and yelling at their defenders. But that is expected as defenders tend to switch off and it is his job to keep them on their toes and keep them concentrated. What is not expected is for a GK to be "nice". Trust me, they are not nice on the pitch. pitch, for sure.

2.) 24 Aug 2017 07:24:13
Ed001 is correct about Migs, although bottom half of prem is a tad generous.

3.) 24 Aug 2017 07:25:27
Are you kidding me? You must have been watching the game on your Nans black and white TV with a coat hanger for an aerial because Mignolet was shocking last night.

For the first goal his positional sense and agility not to get to ground quick enough was appalling. The lad burst into the box at pace, the ball was moving at pace and on his right could have only put it across the face of goal into the far corner. Anyone with half a football brain could see that.

For the second, he should be putting those 2 centre forward into the second tier of the Anfield Road end and command his 6 yard box, instead he just stood there and let Lovren try and deal with both of them. For the likes of De Gea, Coutois and Lloris, that is bread and butter stuff.

He flapped at everything, dropped a ball at the second attempt of trying to catch it, like a puppy with a bouncy ball, kept passing the ball to his CB's and putting them instantly under pressure and his distribution philosophy is just "put the laces through it" like a Sunday league keeper.

Hoffenheim are a relatively inexperienced up and coming team and if that was a half decent premier league side they would have made us pay last dearly last night.

Danny Ward must be wondering what he has to do to get in the nets before that clown. He is without a doubt the Achilles heel of the team.

{Ed001's Note - maybe he is just a big fan of Pater Kay? Only I swear he shouts "'ave it!" when kicking the ball....}

4.) 24 Aug 2017 07:41:46
ED001, I am working in Scotland at the moment and couldn't get to the game last night, but I have started taking a cushion to the pub with me so I can hide behind it every time he is within 10 yards of the ball.

How he is still at the club is beyond me, and to think Begovic went to Bournemouth fir £10m in this window is frustrating, we should have been all over that to fill the gap, even for this season.

{Ed001's Note - I agree, but we should have made sure to get him the moment he left Stoke.}

5.) 24 Aug 2017 09:41:45
I grew up watching David James too and that guy cost Liverpool a prem title or 2, him and Mike Hooper, Jesus.

15 Aug 2017 09:49:41
Hi Eds?

I saw you said that the club has had a look at Kalidou Koulibaly as VVD alternative.
Are there other alternatives to VVD?, if so who are they?

Thanks, have a great day.

Evyred

{Ed002's Note - None that I am aware of.}

15 Jul 2017 07:06:54
Hi Eds?
Great work you're doing here.

Do you think the arrival of Naby Keita would mean a CM departure (s) other than Lucas?
Because, honestly we look saturated in the area.

Special thanks to Macca, you're my (and the majority of reds here) hero.
I don't understand how a true fan here would downvote your post.

Thanks to both Eds and Macca
Have a great day.

Evyred

{Ed001's Note - my fear is that we seem to be preparing for life without Coutinho. Brought in Salah to replace him on the left wing, freeing up Couts to play in central midfield and now bringing in Keita so we don't need him there either.....}

1.) 15 Jul 2017 07:14:21
But even if we do bring in Keita that'll leave Can/ Hendo, Keita/ Wijnaldum and Coutinho/ Lallana for 3 midfield spots.
Surely Coutinho wouldn't leave? Right? Right?
You've put the fear in everyone's minds now Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - Grujic, TAA can play there, Ejaria etc. Someone has to go or we will end up with the same issues that Chelsea have and lose the good youth players who fail to see any route into the team.}

2.) 15 Jul 2017 07:18:35
That's the big fear although there seems room for Couts, Keita and salah to start, it's the likes of Lallana, Can, Wini who are going to likely see less game time.
My feeling is that Can is the one most likely to go, it wouldn't be the end of the world but I would rather he stay, he's still young and has improvement in him and he's versatile so can cover a few positions, with him only having a year left on his contract it's also likely the fee we get for him will be a little smaller than it should be.

3.) 15 Jul 2017 07:20:33
They'd an interesting point regarding Couthino Ed001. It would be a real shame as adding Keita and keeping Couts would give us real quality in depth, something we've not had in a long time.

There will be a lot of games to play ( providing we get past the first stage of the CL ) along with the domestic cup matches, competition for places will be crucial.

Then you take injuries into consideration, I really how we can keep hold of Couts this season and show we really mean business - if we manage to land the three targets Macca mentioned that is.

4.) 15 Jul 2017 07:21:40
You might be right Ed001. With the amount of money we are looking to spend this summer on the calibre of players, it'll be too happy a summer for us Liverpool fans. So probably Coutinho will leave to bring us back to Earth.

5.) 15 Jul 2017 07:28:42
That's ruined my morning and its only 7:25 - But I do agree, to be honest though I was happy, I was surprised Salah was signed and it got me thinking about it then. I didn't believe the Kieta deal would happen until Macca posted what he did yesterday, so now I think it's a matter of time until he'd gone, gutted! Hope not, if we keep him and add the players we're talking about we'll be laughing.

6.) 15 Jul 2017 07:33:08
Surely Can could be the one to leave ahead of Coutinho given contract situ and fact he could miss out in starting XI if Keita arrives?

7.) 15 Jul 2017 08:36:14
another view to it though ed001, maybe us signing (subjective view here) quality players, may make it easier for coutinho to want to stay as he feels we can challenge this year?

who knows.

8.) 15 Jul 2017 10:44:46
Disagree! Kieta will play alongside Coutinho! I saw the friendly yesterday and shows exactly how much we rely up on Coutinho. It was all his show in the first half! Our CM's are dead flat with no brains to pick players up ahead!
Without Coutinho we are going NOWHERE!

9.) 15 Jul 2017 10:36:38
That's my morning ruined Ed. Hoping that signing Keita is not a reaction to Coutinho's imminent departure. A midfield with Hendo, Coutinho and Keita is easily one of the best in Europe imo and can get us challenging for the league. As good as Keita is, Coutinho imo is the only one who can open up defences at will against the bus-parkers and score screamers when nothing else is working.

10.) 15 Jul 2017 12:46:16
I reckon it's can leaving with Lucas as well gone surely there is room.

22 Jun 2017 09:26:45
Hi Ed's

Is Leverkusen's Wendell an option at LB?

Thanks, have a nice day.

Evyred

{Ed025's Note - nothing on him at this stage mate..

05 Jun 2017 11:13:54
Hi Ed's

There are no CBs on the Sharkopod's post.
So, what are the VVD alternatives?

Thanks.

Evyred

{Ed002's Note - Joe Gomez?}
