I was just wondering If there was any talk of removing Ian Ayre from his post. I know a lot of people blame him for missing out on key players due to faffing about, they think that he should shoulder a lot of the blame that Rodgers is getting at the moment with regards to transfers.

Obviously with the changes happening at the moment, If Ayre was to go this would be time to do it.

Would someone like Zorc who Klopp works incredibly well with and actually credits Zorc with finding a lot of Dortmunds talent and negotiating with their clubs be considered?

Hi Eds, I was just wondering if their was any interest from anyone for Bruma of galatasaray as he is young and can play any of the forward positions and would fit our philosophy?
Also has the interest in Andre Ayew finished?

DK98

{Ed002's Note - Bruma - no interest. l'OM have rejected an offer for Andre Ayew and the new manager wants to keep him. We will see after the world cup. His brother Jordan may well be coming to England on loan (not to Liverpool).}

Paul Joyce reporting that the committee are preparing a player (Ibe) + money bid for Sadio Mané who is seen as an alternative to Götze.

Personally I don't think we shod be aiming for him. Mane would command a fee around 25-30 and is very inconsistent. Seems like we should look abroad for cheaper better quality players.

DK98

1.) 27 May 2016 02:47:55
When we look abroad for cheaper player, the owners get the blame for not spending the money.

2.) 27 May 2016 03:52:02
Really? Another Saints player and an inconsistent and indisciplined one at that? Heaven help us with that blasted TC of ours.

3.) 27 May 2016 10:24:25
I'd take mane all day long. As a striker though.

4.) 27 May 2016 02:46:15
Yes and besides Mane is a striker, not a AM like Goetze.

There are reports coming out that we are going to go head to head with Manchester United for Arsenals Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer. Don't really know what to think, he is a good player on his day but very inconsistent and injury-prone.

DK98

1.) 28 Apr 2016 12:34:35
Dont need him, hasn't improved in 3 years. Would prefer to give Markovic, Ibe and ojo opportunities .

2.) 28 Apr 2016 12:34:13
Surely a player we don't need. He is no different to Walcott. Never developed except the hype around him.

3.) 28 Apr 2016 13:56:51
He is different to Walcott. He has far more technique and power. However he is slower and his end product is atrocious.

They're nothing like similar players Harry. The only similarity is they came from the same academy to sign for the same club and both play as attackers.

However, I still wouldn't sign either of them. Walcott guarantees you 10-15 goals a season to be fair (when fit) but his overall game is poor. Chambo has a better overall game but no end product.

4.) 28 Apr 2016 16:17:26
Just like his bench buddy, Walcott, not good enuff. If Alex Iwobi (a very special talent and better all round footballer) is keeping both of these flops out then, what on earth are they doing here?

There are reports coming out that the Chinese club that bought Jackson Martinez for 45 million euros has also bought Alex Teixiera for 50. If true, I don't know what to make of this.

He said he wanted to move to a bigger league to help him get into the Brazil squad, moving to China is taking a step back. If true then it shows the type of player he is, and is a real shame given his quality.

DK98

1.) 03 Feb 2016 14:20:43
You don't know if its true, but say it shows the type of player he is. I would suggest it shows the type of fan you are.

2.) 03 Feb 2016 14:27:37
Pretty sure he came out and said it wasn't true. I expect him in the premier league next year, most likely with Chelsea.

3.) 03 Feb 2016 14:43:59
Oh well, doesn't effect us anyway.

4.) 03 Feb 2016 15:29:06
So only way we meet Texeira is in 3 yrs time when we qualify ucl as top 4 next season then go on to win ucl and then we play china club in world club championship.

5.) 03 Feb 2016 16:18:51
When did this site become so petty and fickle people see it necessary to attack every post that's put up? Redsince64, the original post stated 'if' it's true it shows what type of player he is. Last time I checked, we all supported the same club and come on here to chat football and LFC, not throw pathetic little comments about and nit pick every single post.

6.) 03 Feb 2016 16:40:32
stuie, we could all come on here with stories that start with IF it's true. I heard that firminio spat in Klopps face, IF it's true just shows the type of person he is. Rubbish of course but I don't understand the need for people to post derogatory comments if they don't KNOW whether it is true or not.

7.) 03 Feb 2016 17:47:34
Irish Rover no one is insinuating that things are all magical, good things take time. I have definitely saw more positives under Klopp than the last 12 months of Rodgers. But on the same note Klopp does not have a magic wand. The best manager in the world could not transform our team at the moment. The realisation is Klopp must do all he can with what he has. The performances have been better, despite inconsistent. Unfortunately it looks like another building exercise for Liverpool. The other thing is that most of these players are not good enough. No rose tinted spectacles, they are coated in mediocrity. Coutinho aside, I don't see one top four player in out squad. We have good players, yes, but not top four standard.

01 Feb 2016 18:46:10
LFC have come out of months long discussions with the supporters group over ticket prices and actually raised ticket prices for next season rather than reducing them or even freezing them.

If the owners were going to have price freezes/ reductions then next season, with the increased revenue would have been the perfect time but they have disregarded what the fans want.

I reckon the locals are getting priced out, this will mean even less will be able to come, there will be more tourists from abroad and won't help the 'Anfield is a graveyard' problem.

DK98

{Ed002's Note - You are still struggling with the concept of having to manage the massive debt that the club is already in with the additional debt the club is taking on at the moment.}

1.) 01 Feb 2016 19:03:28
Same at Utd, City, Chelsea, and Everton (if they ever win a trophy)

Anyway, Liverpool have treated their supporters like Dirt years.

If they had pulled their fingers out years ago and exploited the market when we had the chance, then the fans wouldn't suffer.

It's these kids I feel sorry for as they will struggle, unless of course, Daddy is prepared to pay for them first class with an inflated priced ticket.

That's never going to happen in one of the poorest cities in the country, is it?

2.) 01 Feb 2016 19:31:41
Fantastic news - People who pay more appreciate what they get! Look at the amount of money our away fans pay to attend games and look at the much better results because you can hear them supporting the team.

Unlike Anfield where the so called fans grumble instead of supporting ALL THE PLAYERS and wonder why we lose.

3.) 01 Feb 2016 19:51:25
Why would this news surprise anyone with these owners? But they saved us didn't they so they can do whatever they like. When will people wake up to these vampires!

{Ed001's Note - this was always going to happen and it was very obvious they would raise the ticket prices. Sad because it is down to their inability to keep a check on spending or it would not be needed.}

4.) 01 Feb 2016 20:05:48
I completely understand where your coming from Ed and why it has to happen, but some of the reported prices like £70 is getting to the stage where its ridiculous for a club which is touted as 9th richest in the world. There has definately been some bad management.

Tbf, this is happening all over the place in the English game. You can go to a PSG or Bayern game for less than £12 whereas watching Arsenal will set you back £90 or so!

{Ed002's Note - I m not sure why you are using the word "richest". The club is screwed by debt incurred because of mismanagement and buying players. You cannot compare it to PSG or Bayern.}

Apparently Arsenal have agreed a 23 million pound deal to sign Yarmolenko. I hope this isn't true as I have been saying for ages that he is exactly what we need!
If it is true then he will defo add something special to Arsenals attack.

DK98

1.) 29 Jan 2016 14:16:11
Ok let's be sensible.

Why is he "exactly what we need"?
What attributes does he bring which others don't have?
How will he help the team?

In my opinion he brings zero in terms of defending and in my world defending is a big problem for the team.

He has pace, dribbles well and has a decent scoring record in his league which he has played in for years.

He's not a significant upgrade on Lallana, who has recently hit some form. Do you want to discard an in form Lallana for a player coming to a new league unfamiliar with new team mates and a new manager and coaching set up?

Language will also be a potential problem.

In my world he might add a little, he might not add anything and he might be an expense we can ill afford.

2.) 29 Jan 2016 14:54:14
He's a wide player . lallana plays wide but he's a number 10 .

3.) 29 Jan 2016 14:56:08
Would rather have his goal ratio over lallana's anyday.

4.) 29 Jan 2016 14:57:52
Lallana is not in any sort of form.

5.) 29 Jan 2016 15:03:44
Although he can play on either wing, he predominantly play on the right wing, therefore it is Milner who he would be competing with not Lallana who tends to play on the left.

Milner doesn't give us any pace on the wings, he has the engine and experience but tbh he doesn't contribute as much as he is capable of to our attacks.

Yarmolenko would bring a lot of desirable attributes with him. He is blessed with height, strength and pace. He is also a set piece taker, someone who we lack atm, he can deliver the killer ball or take a pop himself. He also is extremely versatile, for example he has played as a left back for much of his youth and can also be deployed through the middle.

If you watch him it is clear that he exudes confidence, It rubs of in his peers and I think he can add a lot to whomever he joins.

I do understand your concerns though about the language barrier but players like coutinho and now firmino haven't done to bad given that English didn't come naturally to them.

6.) 29 Jan 2016 15:08:43
Ron I meant to ask you this sooner. How did you get on at the Stoke game? How was the atmosphere?

7.) 29 Jan 2016 16:19:01
Atmosphere was a bit flat for the majority of time, too much tension IMO.

Right, so accepting all the attributes mentioned, not one person could tell me what he brings defensively.

Remember he is supposed to be "exactly what we need".

Or do you all think defence is not a problem?

8.) 29 Jan 2016 17:31:42
He is a decent player but others we have been linked with such as Alex Teixeira is better imo.

9.) 30 Jan 2016 05:14:13
And can he play in goals? Lol because that's also what we need. And does he have a spare hamstring to lend Sturridge? If not then he's not what we need.

Joyce has also said that Lovren hasn't travelled with the team but rather back to Croatia due to family sickness. Hope its nothing too serious.

Joyce has predicted the line up to be the same as against villa with Caulker replacing Toure as the only change.

I would keep Lovren, Clyne and Allen. Allen in particular has really impressed me since Klopp has come in. He can come on and maintain a tempo and dictate the play in the center when we look like slowing down in the latter half of the game, he also doesn't complain about his lack of game time and has good experience.

I would keep Lovren and Clyne for at least next season because even though they haven't stood out this season they have been OK. Its clear that we need a defensive overhaul and the worry for me is that if we have a mass exodus of defenders and get new ones in, there will be no rapport between them whatsoever. We need players that have played together and can maintain some form of stability and leadership at the back. Can't just buy a whole new defence and expect them to suceed without learning each others strengths and weaknesses as some people on here are suggesting.

Finally I would defo keep Markovic. In his first season he was still getting used to the PL, it would have been hard for anyone especially a young player like him. Rodgers playing him out of position probably didn't help him settle down and find consistency, he wasn't confident. I think we have done the right thing sending him on loan, he has got into a rhythym of play, he now enjoys his football, you can see it when he plays. All the Fenerbace supporters are giving rave reviews about him, they want to keep him.
We should take him back next season and give him the chance he deserves. When he came to us he was one of Europe's brightest prospects, he is now more mature and has something to prove.
