Can't believe we never inserted a buy back clause (unless we tried) when we sold him I agree with Ed001 always thought he was quality. I watched him a lot for u21s and even 17 he was class.

Thanks Macca, and as much as I'd love to know. I think you're doing the right thing keeping it quiet incase of a negative impact on the possibility of getting mystery player.

I maybe wrong. But wasn't it an issue something similar to what Fletcher had when at utd and by diet etc has been able to keep on top of it? Something to do with the stomach. Be interesting one as his career has stalled since move to Bayern from Dortmund. But I am sure I read somewhere when asked who was most gifted player he had worked with. Klopp answer was Gotze.

Agree he needs to go out on loan to get regular playing time. But feel this must be in premiership in my opinion.

In no way am I saying he's brilliant. But feel Robertson has came in and done a good job. He's reasonably young works hard and clearly see he wants to learn and improve. And every fan I know says same thing our hearts are not in our mouth everytime ball goes down that side like is with moreno (who has improved alot)

Like yet another Robertson cross that, went along the ground across 6 yard box taking out whole Southampton back4 and gk? would have been the easiest of tap ins had anyone gambled rather than both players doing same thing and putting brakes on for cut back! There has been several occasions when this has happened. In my eyes as good as they are our front 3 at least 1 of them need to start gambling rather than looking for cut back all the time. Sterling has at least 7,8 goals this season from no more than 4yards out, tap ins at back post.

{Ed001's Note - several occasions? It has happened once and every other ball he put in went in row z ffs. Why do people keep defending Robbo just because he is enthusiastic? His crossing is hopelessly aimless 9 times out of 10 and needs working on. Hopefully he will improve but right now it is ducking awful. He clearly can cross the ball with a good shape, when he is not given time to think about things. The moment he has time to consider his options he goes to pieces. That has to be dealt with, not ignored or covered up by fans pretending he is brilliant.}

Give him a break Irish Rover. The pundits and a lot of fans pick fault at very slightest thing he does. Yet we aren't allowed to give him praise for couple good saves at 1.0 and good fast distribution to start move for 1st goal? And we wonder why his confidence looked 0 a while back!

Agree with Ed001 on seeing Ejaria play several times. This lad has brilliant technical ability and stands at over 6ft. I would say he needs a tough challenge like this to make him tougher and hopefully developed his off the ball game. If he can improve on these areas there's no doubt he has the ability on the ball and physical presence to be a really good player at championship level at least I'd say.

Well said 87red. I said the minute we lose or drew a game. Sly sports etc would be straight away saying oh it's cause they sold Coutinho! Absolutely tripe! as you say it's been our weakness for a few years. That was with coutinho in the team, with him taking 9 shots from 35 yards in those types of games, without him scoring. Funny they said can't say we didn't miss him based on 1 game v league best team. Yet they have a feel day based on 1 lose in a game we easily could have scored 3,4 and our gk stood and watched the whole game and had nothing to do!
