Klopp just dismissed the Pato rumours in the Arsenal pre-game press conf. With these words "My private advice to you is don't follow the Pato path any longer. ".

ChrisE

{Ed001's Note - maybe finally people will listen now he has said it too! I have become bored of telling people it is not happening.}

1.) 11 Jan 2016 15:18:11
Really annoying that all the papers etc are reporting it as a done deal. what is the point in this?! Also saying we are bidding for praet? Assume this is bs too. Best just 2 wait until window closes and then we will all know for sure. I personally don't think we will sign anyone.

{Ed002's Note - Interest in Anderlecht's Dennis Praet has run hold and cold for a while and the likes of Ajax, Everton, Southampton, Hoffenheim, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Dynamo Moscow have moved on in the past year. Both Sevilla and Valencia had offers rejected in the summer whilst Aston Villa were also being kept informed by Anderlecht of any approaches for the player. and I suspect they might be first to put an acceptable offer on the table. Juventus were represented at a couple of games but were, I understand, unconvinced by the player. Arsenal has again looked atin recent weeks, once they new that there would be a January bid from elsewhere, but I am not aware of them taking it any further. However, Fiorentina has had several meetings with representatives of the player and Anderlecht - and are seemingly getting to the point where an agreement over a January transfer can be reached. If Liverpool are again interested in the player, and I am not so sure why they would want to bring in yet another attacking midfield player at the time, he may well provide a suitable replacement for Coutinho if he were to leave.}

2.) 11 Jan 2016 15:47:17
Ed. wouldn't be a transfer window without the done deal on every player ever mentioned who still kicks a ball today.

{Ed002's Note - The media do this to the Liverpool fans as they are gullible and easy to tease. Everybody knows this is just a nebelwand from Klipperty.}

3.) 11 Jan 2016 16:21:00
So ed just to confirm pato isn't coming?

{Ed002's Note - Down graded from "done deal" to "nailed on" Lavers.}

4.) 11 Jan 2016 17:13:03
Don't know how you put up with it Eds, for weeks you've been saying Pato isn't going to join Liverpool, every day, posters still ask you about him, perhaps now they will pick a new player they have in their X-box/ PlayStation games team and rack your brains about them now until the end of the transfer window.

5.) 11 Jan 2016 18:13:16
I remember when someone said, categorically, that we weren't signing Mario Balotelli.

Te hee.

Sorry, just being facetious.

6.) 11 Jan 2016 18:14:41
He is rubbish now anyway, he's been sent out on loan from corinthians, what does that tell you? they was really keen to have him a few years back LOL not so keen now are they haha!

7.) 11 Jan 2016 19:10:45
Even though it was never going to happen neither did I want or think it we was going to sign Pato.
Allow to give my opinion as to why some may of believed the rumour. Pato as we know did once have potential, potential not realised. Pato is injury prone. Pato will be over priced and Pato will under deliver. Sounding familiar yet?

In summary Pato is a modern day Liverpool fc player he ticks all the boxes, sad but true in the words of Rafa " these are facts"

8.) 11 Jan 2016 19:18:02
Klopp might be creating a smokescreen. We haven't had one of them yet this window.

9.) 11 Jan 2016 19:45:42
Don't forget the mirrors to go with the smoke AUH 😜.

10.) 11 Jan 2016 20:39:10
And I know - Klopp is a smokescreen. Don't worry guys, we are getting Pato and Gary Monk this week, along with Ashley Williams for old time's sake.

11.) 11 Jan 2016 21:25:54
To be honest the rumours have also said we are buying the German national team too, pinch of salt stuff. Don't want Pato anyway, it would seem he has not met the potential everyone gave him and at £11mil! I would rather stay within FIFA FFP.
The Eds and some posters know what is and isn't happening, so I take them for what they say. Nothing is definite as the club does not seem to like giving any confirmation until the deal is done - lest we forget the Willian transfer to Tottenham, oh sorry no Chelsea!
Don't always buy what the media and press are selling.
It does make for an interesting transfer window though, the will we won't we and are they worth it or not. love it!
Thanks for the info as always Eds and all, can't wait to see what's next.

12.) 12 Jan 2016 00:43:14
Managers are fond of saying the opposite while negotiations undrway. So probably klopp has given it away - Pato is indeed coming.

Liverpool Echo reporting Marko Grujic has agreed a contract and will have a medical later this week. GBP 5 deal plus 10% sell on clause. In addition he will be loaned back to Red Star for the rest of the season.

1.) 21 Dec 2015 13:48:03
What does this deal mean for Rossiter, will he see this as another obstruction on his path to be a 1st team player? Not sure if the Serbian lad plays in the same position, so like the man in the orthopaedic shoes, I stand to be corrected.

2.) 22 Dec 2015 08:53:21
Why is everyone so bothered about new players being brought in and "obstructing" paths for players in the LFC pipeline? Yes, it's a definite plus that Rossiter is a Liverpudlian, but then so what? You build a champion team by having at least 2-3 or more players fighting for each place. And we all know it. Did Shankly, Paisley and Dalglish do it another way? Did they give preference to the local players or go for the younger inexperienced players? Or did they assemble the best squad they could and let players fight it out for their places on the field? Yes, nurturing local youngsters is a priority, but not at the expense of the best possible performance on the field. And besides, times have changed in a big way. If clubs are going to be loyal to the local players, then that loyalty has to be reciprocated by the players. And there is no such thing anymore. The Callaghans, Carraghers, Gerrards, Terrys and others are all a dying breed, replaced by mercenaries.

{Ed001's Note - Shankly and Paisley used to bring in younger players to develop them in the reserves before integrating them into the side. Impossible to compare though, as their method was possible due to the much higher level of reserve football in those days. It was properly competitive football back then, something young players lack now. That is why they need to either get first team football early, or go out on loan, or be sold to somewhere they can get first team football and develop.}

3.) 22 Dec 2015 09:14:01
It's not only because he is a local lad that I'm mentioning the possible obstruction, it's a similar situation we had with BR that young players see similar players, of the same age arriving to the club.

Wisdom-Manquillo
Ibe - Marcovic
Ilori - Gomez

Are just a couple of examples I can think of.

{Ed002's Note - Putting aside Ilori already having been discarded prior to Gomez arriving, I don't see that bring in Gujic as being any sort of change of policy away from hoping something decent comes from the academy. You are right that players such as Rossister will look at this and know it makes life harder for him - and as such he needs to think about his future.}

27 Dec 2014 21:10:14
Eds, do you think there is any truth to the stories coming out of Spain that LFC have bid GBP50 mil for Benzema?

ChrisE

{Ed002's Note - It seems unlikely as Real Madrid will not look to be selling before the summer and Liverpool would be plunged further in to debt unless they could sell some players to raise the money.}

Kolo Toure confirmed by LFC on Twitter and on tv. He joins on July 1st.

If Liverpool are looking for a flair player with an eye for goal then Sebastian Giovinco fits the bill. His second v New York Red Bulls last night was class, being hailed as MLS goal of the season. I have been to BMO Field to watch Toronto several times this season and he is head and shoulders above everyone else. Anyone in the Premier League showing interest EDs?

ChrisE

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 15 Oct 2015 18:13:42
We didn`t want him then when he was offered to us by Juve + cash for Suarez. Don`t want him now.

2.) 15 Oct 2015 18:41:35
He's head and shoulders ahead because the league standard is pretty poor hence Bradley Wright Phillips banging in the goals and Robbie Keane was tearing up too

3.) 15 Oct 2015 20:14:18
Yes, more attacking midfielders come forwards to block to route from the youth team to the first. I would rather not.

04 Apr 2015 16:55:42
What's going on with Flanno? He is fit enough to play is the Charity game but nowhere near the first team. Instead we play Can out of position, meaning Allen gets a game in midfield (does anyone give the ball away more than him?). I for one would play Flanno either at right wing back or right side of defence. Meaning Hendo can move back into the middle. If Flanno is the right sided defender then maybe give Can a go at the RWB role, his swashbuckling run's are a joy to watch.

1.) 04 Apr 2015 17:05:34
Does anyone give the ball away more than him. Yes today Lucas

2.) 04 Apr 2015 17:05:44
There is a big difference between the pace, intensity and management of a Charity game and a PL game.

3.) 04 Apr 2015 19:55:28
He missed the whole season with injury and plays a part in the charity match and he should've started at the Emirates?? What was br thinking? This has to be one of the most cluless posts I seen here,

4.) 04 Apr 2015 20:15:37
BUt he is going with Johnson on the bench rather than easing Flanno back into the team. Seriously Johnson!!

Anyone know who is Vice Captain now Agger has gone? Surely Henderson has to be in for a shout.

Says a lot about certain players when one gets hurt and walks off leaving us to finish the game with 10 men, whilst another although clearly in a lot of pain refuses to go off and trys to play through it as he knew it would leave the team quite frankly up the creek without a paddle.

For that Moreno, you get my complete respect. Well done lad!

If the report i just read is correct no wonder they turned it down. 82.1 mil guaranteed the rest in clauses, which range from goals scored, winning La Liga, winning Champs league and winning Ballon d'Or.

Come on. With the injuries we have had i am sure pretty much any manager would be struggling. 3 out of 4 strikers injured and the 4th in shocking form. Our most creative player out injured. Constant injuries to our main CB's. He is working with one hand tied behind his back.
