Hi Eds,
I see certain reports linking us Fekir again, a day before Milan were close to signing him based on the reports. Any truth in our interest? Quality player, looked around for oosts, didn't find anything so thought it would be good if you have heard of any progress/ interest.

Thanks in advance.

Chaki

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any changes to the situation in the last couple of days.}

Hi Eds, certain reports mention that Liverpool have rekindled interest in signing Fekir. Any truth in this? I've looked through the previous responses, but wanted to check if there was any contact/ progress made?
Thanks in advance.

Chaki

{Ed002's Note - I, as I have explained, would not discount an offer.}

1.) 12 Jun 2019 22:04:16
Ed002, greetings from the Limousin region of France.
I still think Fekir would be a good addition to the squad.

{Ed002's Note - i agree but Lyon will not be messed with and there needs to be space. My pick for the bigger spend remains an AM type player Drogie - like a Fekir, Fernandes ... type player..}

2.) 12 Jun 2019 22:28:35
oh man, no discounts? not even considering his knee? :p
lovin the transfer rumour mill this year!

3.) 12 Jun 2019 22:35:13
Absolutely, they won’t be messed around like last time.
Agree with you re Fernandes, think he might end up at United though.

4.) 12 Jun 2019 22:36:09
My uncle lives in the same region as you drogie, love it in france.

5.) 12 Jun 2019 22:28:01
There needs to be space Ed as in you mean we need to sell first to make space for any arrival?

6.) 13 Jun 2019 04:16:07
I agree Ed02. If we're only looking at spending a lot on 1 player, I hope it's an AM. Brandt was my choice but I understand is likely going elsewhere.

7.) 13 Jun 2019 04:54:13
Brandt has already gone - he signed for Dortmund.

8.) 12 Jun 2019 22:25:04
which one is more achievable for us ed.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer such questions.}

9.) 12 Jun 2019 23:09:14
Evening Ed002 or maybe morning/ afternoon wherever you may be in the world. Do you know if Fekir himself would still be keen to join us after what happened?

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry I don’t.}

10.) 13 Jun 2019 05:57:24
Peg leg, I’d love to have a place in Limousin! I’m only here for the week -Carp Fishing 🎣.

{Ed025's Note - i have never caught a carp drogie, but i have been known to have the odd liverpudlian on my line mate.. :) enjoy your trip..

11.) 13 Jun 2019 07:06:09
Appreciate the response Ed002. Enjoy your day.

Guys. Really feeling nervous for today’s match. Praying that we go through to the next round. This wait is really making me jittery!

1.) 11 Mar 2020 20:59:58
Gini you little dancer!

2.) 11 Mar 2020 21:01:20
Lovely header. oblak had no chance.

3.) 11 Mar 2020 23:02:18
Well, another loss for liverpool. I hope it ends soon.

4.) 12 Mar 2020 00:21:56
To be honest we played much better than recently.

5.) 12 Mar 2020 01:17:24
We played well. We are really missing Alisson. We would have won with him on the sticks imo. Oh well, I never really expected to win the ucl again. Two finals in a row.

But we need to pick ourselves up and win the one we all want. Its not done yet. But I know they'll get it done.

I have no idea how we lost to athletico. We were all over them for the whole match. Something doesn't feel right with vvd. I hope he isn't being whispered to by an agent. He just doesn't seem as imperious as he has. His decision making isn't spot on.

{Ed0666's Note - it’s nigh enough impossible to play to the lofty standards Virgil has been producing the last year or so, a blip is warranted. I wouldn’t have thought he was thinking of a move and if he was not sure he’s the type of player to let it affect his on field performances.

We were dominant all over the pitch tonite apart from in the box. Mane was shepherded well and Atleti we’re happy for Salah to have the ball but sadly he wasn’t at his destructive best. I thought he should have scored from the shot that led to Robbo hitting the bar. Salah passed up some gifts as did Mane who is out of sorts which isn’t a worry so much as we’ve pretty much wrapped up the premiership.

In my humble opinion we have regressed on the incisive movement we have showed from when we were formidable and that has to be addressed either in training or in the summer transfer window. I’m certain pace, movement and guile will be bought.

People are condemning Klopp for subbing Ox but Milner Cameron and had a purple patch for a while and I thought he was excellent.

We’re having our blip at the moment and thankfully it’s come at a time when the title has been one. I would have loved to have gone through to the quarter finals but I’m not so sure the Champions League won’t be cancelled so that will take the sting out of losing.

We should have one simples, we created enough decent chances to win we played better than we have for a while, not our free flowing beautiful best but very good nonetheless. We were undone by our Achilles heel a team that’s sets out to ‘park the preverbal bus’ and if that’s the parable then we have to learn from it, lick our wounds and come back more savvy next season.

6.) 12 Mar 2020 05:31:07
You are in denial. Of course you expected to win the UCL again. What a poor display the liverpool lads showed yesterday.

7.) 12 Mar 2020 07:21:57
It certainly wasnt a poor display by any standards.

8.) 12 Mar 2020 08:39:53
It was a very good performance so please don't diss the boys with comments like that. Did you actually watch it?

The loss is hard to swallow though because we actually had the job done at 2-0 before Adrian's mistake. In my opinion he should have stopped all 3 goals but whet do we always say? Win as a team and lose as a team.

Make no mistake we now have what will be a really tough game next Monday.

{Ed001's Note - the difference in the end came down to the defences. Atletico threw everything in defensively, unfortunately for us, Adrian had a mare and our defence (particularly Virgil but it wasn't just him) stood off them and let them play. When it was in forward or midfield areas, the team got in their faces and harried them into giving the ball back. When they got into our defensive third, everyone was stood off letting them pass it around. At one point we had 3 defenders back (I think it was their second) against 2 forwards, but still Virgil just ran away from Morata rather than closing him down, so he was able to pick a pass under no pressure to Llorente. Then Gomez and Henderson did the same to Llorente, enabling him to shoot easily. The only challenge was from Millie trying to get back but not quite in time. Why were we suddenly so timid in defensive areas, even when we had a covering player? Virgil should have shut Morata down, we all know he has no bottle and would have just shanked his pass into touch or to a red shirt.}

9.) 12 Mar 2020 14:36:37
I disagree with the notion that we lost to a team that parked the bus. Fully disagree. We did not lose to AM cos they parked the bus (in fact, they parked 3 buses if you include the strikers at many points) and could not break them down. This is cos we created enuff chances, even more than I anticipated before the game, to win the game by 2/ 3 clear goals. We damaged their buses to the point that they were hanging on it's bumper for dear life.

I have watched AM play away from home in the CL and I have never seen that vaunted defensive system get ripped to shreds. At one point by the 40th min, they were dead on their feet. If not, how do you think Gini had no AM defenders within 5 yards of him when he scored. Saul was so gassed that he did not even contest Ox's cross for Gini. Same with Bobbie. There was no AM player within 5 yards of him when he scored off Gini's cross. They were knackered cos we had them on the rack begging for mercy till Adrian gave them a lifeline.

We beat them to the point that they were hanging for dear life. Even Robbo a FB, hit the post. We lost a game due to a GK mistake and could have defended certain phases better and been a bit more clinical BUT to say we lost cos we could not break them down, is inaccurate, IMO.

Ed001, Klopp has agreed an extension till 2024. Didn't see this coming, so glad that he is staying with us beyond 7 years.

This is already feeling like a trophy for me :)

Chaki

{Ed001's Note - brilliant news.}

Damn! That literally bring tears. Was just hoping Leicester hold on.

13 Aug 2018 14:54:33
Ed001. How good was Ruben Neves! I thought he was quite amazing. After your rave reviews, I looked out for him and he was just brilliant.

Chaki

{Ed001's Note - He is a special player. Always impresses. I will never understand why he was not in the Portugal team for the World Cup. He is the best central mid they have, twice the player of that carthorse Carvalho.}

1.) 13 Aug 2018 16:30:54
Neves was a signing I really wanted us to make. Not needed for us at this point but I think Wolves will finish in the top 10.

2.) 13 Aug 2018 16:41:26
I’d love to see us sign him, he’s got so much quality on the ball.

3.) 13 Aug 2018 17:00:29
Next year. 60 million.

4.) 13 Aug 2018 17:04:48
Neves imo will be up there with the likes of Kante in the future, he's simply brilliant.

5.) 13 Aug 2018 18:10:44
His future will already be planned out by Jorge.

Doubt it will he us. Probably psg or United.

6.) 13 Aug 2018 18:20:57
Madness he is 21, looks like he’s in his prime both physically and professionally.

7.) 13 Aug 2018 18:57:30
I thought wolves would be top 10 but they will have to improve on Saturday, Neves and the Mexican striker are the only two that did themselves justice.

8.) 13 Aug 2018 19:14:52
Reminds me of an ex Red named Xabi, class.

9.) 13 Aug 2018 19:30:03
What makes you think it'll be psg or utd kb?

10.) 13 Aug 2018 20:37:50
Jorge Mendes is his agent and this move was arranged by him, hence why it was only 15 million, he has had his future planned out rather than be his own personel choices.

Also I don't think we would want to get into bed with Jorge around, far to powerful.

Teams like United and psg are huge for his global image, e. g. sponsorships = more money and opportunity addidas, Pepsi sort of stuff. Mendes will probably hold 15% of his income from stuff like that so it's all in his best interests.

11.) 13 Aug 2018 20:41:26
Reminds of Xabi. Or the closest to Xabi, that cross for second goal had Xabi written all over it.

12.) 13 Aug 2018 21:09:12
Kloppsboss, you realise that Mendes was part of the negotiations for Fabinho. I don’t believe Mendes is that bad a bloke. He doesn’t seem to be a Raoli type who causes trouble.

13.) 13 Aug 2018 21:40:51
Chaki, are you a mind-reader? I thought of asking Ed01 that same question today about Neves cos to me, that kid is a the Truth, as they say in the U. S. His repertoire of passes (short, mid-range or long) is something to behold and tho he is a diff. player to Carvalho, Neves offers way more than he does. He can strike a ball with great precision, pace and power as well scores goals a la SG and is deadly from set pieces. Like SG. A gem. I would not mind him at all, in an LFC shirt.

14.) 14 Aug 2018 08:01:44
To be fair Ed I think even I’m twice the player of that carthorse Carvalho!

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't go that far, though if you were able to walk the length of the pitch without needing to sit down, then you would be on a par at least.}

Ed001, we value your opinion greatly. Your reviews and insights on games/ players are the only one I pay attention to. So please ignore anyone who doesn't agree.

Chaki

{Ed001's Note - it's not that people disagree as such, it is just that I can't be doing with the ridiculous overreactions to every result. I am tired of it after nearly 20 years of doing the sites, I just need a bit of a rest. And then there is the ones who disagree who just jump on anyone who agrees and call them sheep or other names, rather than actually putting together a cogent argument on why they shouldn't agree. Also taking a break from here might actually allow me to catch up a bit on the huge backlog of articles I have!}

Can you please help elaborate Ed001? Is it that he did not handle himself well or did not deliver as per expectations?

Chaki

{Ed001's Note - he did not handle himself well and some of the things he said were, at best embarrassing, at worst obnoxious and uncaring. Under him we have managed to alienate most of the football world, that is not a good thing.}
