Hi Eds and Reds, any news on the Suso rumour coming out of Sky Sports today? Good little player, don't know if he would give it another shot at Anfield though.

Keep up the good work eds :)

Broken12Bat

{Ed001's Note - Milan are looking to offload players, so they are trying to drum up interest in the players that will raise them the most money. They are in some money trouble.}

1.) 16 Jan 2018 18:39:26
That surprises me Editor 1 that they'd be willing to offload him. I would love to have him back but I just can't see him wanting a return.

{Ed001's Note - they don't want to but they have to sell some players to finance the takeover. They have really high interest loans to finance.}

2.) 16 Jan 2018 18:46:45
I thought Milan were owned by a mega rich Chinese company.

{Ed001's Note - no, they took out massive loans to buy the club which they are struggling to keep up with repayments on.}

3.) 16 Jan 2018 18:48:57
Any chance for Kessie or Donnarumma? They would massively improve our team and help form a formidable spine for the next ten years.

{Ed001's Note - it is more likely they head to Spain if anywhere.}

4.) 16 Jan 2018 18:56:34
Would think we can afford to wait till the summer to look at the midfield now no rush there.

5.) 16 Jan 2018 19:03:57
Would they consider selling there keeper?

{Ed001's Note - Donnarumma is looking to leave anyway.}

6.) 16 Jan 2018 19:08:32
Thanks for the information Editor, I was completely unaware of their financial side of things.

{Ed001's Note - they are a bit of a mess mate.}

7.) 16 Jan 2018 19:12:17
Thanks mate, are we thinking he would not be suited? From what I have heard he has been quite prolific in Serie A, very creative player plus he knows where the goal is?
Looks like a better option that Mahrez or Lanzini at least? Opinions on Suso everyone?

YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - I would love Suso back, I never wanted him sold.}

8.) 16 Jan 2018 19:22:44
I never knew that, thanks for the information.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

9.) 16 Jan 2018 19:23:29
Thanks mate, I concur he is pretty tidy . I imagine he would not be cheap mind, in light of his clubs financial issues ( which I was not aware of so thanks for the insight as always )

Depends on the asking price as always- still a lot cheaper than the 100 mil Mahrez will be worth after the World Cup though ( what Puel is smoking there I don't know, says he wants to keep him but dangles him like a corrot lol )

Thanks again mate :)

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

10.) 16 Jan 2018 19:26:28
My opinion of Suso is very positive, he was class when he was here now he's even better and has done a stellar job whilst been at Milan. Why we got rid of him is simply beyond me.

11.) 16 Jan 2018 19:40:41
Can't believe they did what they did at Milan regarding finances. Was only ever going to end in tears.

12.) 16 Jan 2018 21:14:36
Such a shame to see a club like Milan having these sorts of troubles. Only 11 years since they faced off against us in the CL Final. How times change!

13.) 16 Jan 2018 21:21:49
Can't believe we never inserted a buy back clause (unless we tried) when we sold him I agree with Ed001 always thought he was quality. I watched him a lot for u21s and even 17 he was class.

14.) 16 Jan 2018 22:29:37
Eds, when we sold Suso was there a sell on clause that we could profit on or benefit from?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

15.) 16 Jan 2018 22:31:19
I liked the look of Suso when he was with us, thought he showed good ability on the ball, never quite understood why he didn't get more of a chance with us. Best thing for his career was to move and get 1st team football. Good luck to him but I don't see us moving for him and doubt he would want to return.

On another note regarding Milan agree that it is a shame if they are in trouble, iconic, historic club. Are they in a worse position now than they were before takeover?

16.) 17 Jan 2018 06:42:18
From what I have read the Chinese owners haven’t had the money they said and have funded things on the tick. They gambled on getting champions league and I’m sure I have read that they will be in big trouble if they don’t which looks almost a certainty.
It’s a shame. they signed some good players in the summer and I imagine the fans where really exited, they obviously are taking time to gel but there seems a good chance players will be sold to sort their financial situation out now, so they’re now in a worse position than before.
I will say that’s what I have read and I’m sure the Ed’s will have better knowledge than me and can correct me if I’m wrong.

Hi Eds, what do you think about going after Aubameyang and dropping Firmino back into the number 10 role if Pipco leaves? I think he would operate fantastically in that area?

Broken12Bat

{Ed002's Note - Age, price and baggage are against it. But there is staill a chance he could move elsewhere.}

1.) 22 Aug 2017 12:00:12
Firmino's role has been discussed to death on here, he is more useful in the cf role than a proper striker would be due to the way we play 😆
But still i’d love if we got Aubameyang, specially for FIFA 😂😂.

Hi All, based on all the names being thrown around in the media at the moment who are we thinking is more of a priority in this transfer window?
Jan Oblak or Aubameyang?

Personally I think we should try and sign a top top keeper, then maybe think about a no9 in the summer, maybe one of these exciting young Italian strikers running amok in Italy at the moment. Be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts ( including the Eds) YNWA.

Broken12Bat

{Ed025's Note - oblak for me broken..

1.) 11 Jan 2018 19:22:32
I honestly can't see either of those as remotely realistic.

2.) 11 Jan 2018 19:24:52
We have salah, obalak would be a coup.

3.) 11 Jan 2018 21:59:32
oblak should be a priority but he won't be and I can't see him wanting to come to us.

04 Jan 2018 19:24:38
Hi Eds,

Lemar aside ( because obviously we have a shortage of attacking midfielders at present and that is clearly the area we need to strengthen in ) have there been any rumblings of us being linked to a decent keeper or another defender at all? A quick google search brings up diddly, and we can't expect one ( admittedly quality ) expensive defensive signing to be an instant solution to stop the obvious issues at the back. New keeper needed, as Im mystified Ward has not been given a sniff. Also who would you say VVD would be best paired with of our current defensive crop? Happy NY, YNWA.

Broken12Bat

{Ed002's Note - January is not the time to be looking at GKs. I am not aware of any other first team CBs being seriously considered right now. I have no feeling who Klopp will play Van Dijk with, but I suspect his usual random approach.}

1.) 04 Jan 2018 23:53:52
considering Lemar at 90mil, would Son Heung Min be achievable at 70mil? Son can play in false 9 and we can make Firmino our no.10 playmaker

Or otherwise 60mil for Eriksen for a like for like replacement to Coutinho?

2.) 05 Jan 2018 04:57:00
Eriksen isn't as good as Coutinho and would likely command a much higher fee. I really like Son though feel he is somewhat of a downgrade and also feel 70mil over values him.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 06:11:52
Where did you pluck out those figures from? Curious to know mate.

30 Aug 2017 18:17:52
All these pacy midfielders are all fine and dandy but we won't get to far with our defensive unit as is, has anyone heard anything about any defenders that we are looking at? Looks like we took Ox from under Cheleas noses, I would not expect them to let VVD go without a major tussle if anything happens at all tomorrow on that front. I see our other potential CB has signed for someone else. Any rumblings on us using Sakho as a potential make weight for Evans at West Brom? Upgrade from Lovren in my opinion, maybe movements on that tomorrow if Soton still refuse to budge on VvD. makes sense as a zero hour back up.

Broken12Bat

1.) 30 Aug 2017 18:27:40
Why on earth would we want Evans? Apart from the fact he's a very lumpen and mediocre centre back, he's a die hard united supporter.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 18:41:06
Mr Dennis, Evans is not average. He just doesn't have an exotic name like I see you always seem to rate players with exotic names and anyone British were linked with is rubbish. Interesting, appreciate your view/ opinion though!

3.) 30 Aug 2017 19:02:24
By all accounts ox turned down Chelsea in favour of us partly cos of playing position and partly wanting to come to lfc and play for klopp
I'm pretty sure vvd has said the same obviously other than playing position
We can't underestimate the power of Mr. Klopp.

Alisson is worth his weight in gold to any top club with an upward trajectory and would represent the most important signing for us for the last several seasons. ( Yes even more than Mo and of course we all love him but we will be lucky to get 2 seasons out of the lad with everyone sniffing round, especially if the rumours about him asking his agent to circulate his interest to a certain Spanish side ) . If Dave goes to Spain we would have the best keeper in the Leqgue no question. We should just pay the 70 mil and be done with it, worthwhile investment on all fronts.

Last time I checked Pebbles was a kid?!

Broken12Bat

{Ed002's Note - Pebbles is a great series of garage records - a poor man's "Nuggets". My favourite is the first side of Volume 8. I might go and dig it out now.}
