Having a discussion with a couple of other fans and we all picked different MOTMs. Everyone played well yesterday, but for me, Gini was easily the best player on the pitch. that's the best i've seen him carry the ball for us and thought he caused city problems all game. Henderson was playing well as did Fabinho, and as usual the 2 fullbacks.
Whats everyones opinion on MOTM?

Trent pips it for me. superb passing and kept sterling quiet. But as you say the midfield were excellent and robbo.

Before yesterdays game I thought that the Ox potentially deserved to start ahead of either Wiji or Hendo. When the team was announced i was a little disappointed but how wrong was I. For me i agree, i thought Wiji was outstanding yesterday and was definitely in the running for Mom. Hendo also had a good game and his assist for Mane's goal was absolute top class. On a separate note though I think Mane was lucky not to get booked. Pep was right, as he definitely dived to get on the end of that cross.

Trent for me too.

Trent for me also. That pass to Robbo that led to the second goal deserves it in itself. He played out of his skin for me all game though.

OP, there were frankly too many candidates, IMO. One can say TAA cos of the way he shut down Sterling for the most part until he resorted to cheating, whinding people up and trying to steal a penalty. Lovren for what was IMO, a heroic and flawless next to VVD. Fabinho for running a clinic on how a true DM dominates a game both offensively and defensively. Gini for his all-round performance. Robbo? Like I said, too many candidates.

I heard they are also interested in Gini, Van den berg, Hoever, and Ryan babbel.

I've not met or ever spoken to a single Liverpool fan who dislikes Grujic. Perhaps your hanging out in the places Ed?
{Ed002's Note - Maybe you should read all the posts here.}

I personally think that if we are to improve our midfield that Gini is the easiest 1 to replace. Yes he is a good player, but for my liking he has to many anonymous games. he's brilliant 1 week then totally passive the next. Would like him to stay, but IF we can replace him with Thiago, let's not pretend that that's not a big step up in quality. I know Gini brings more energy but if its a choice between Gini and Thiago, its Thiago everytime.

Firmino would be on the bench for most of the season if Klopp did that. The majority of teams we face are going to play deep and be very compact.

Klopp identified Alisson as the keeper he wanted. Roma set the fee that they would be willing to let him leave for, and we agreed to pay it. Simple. It is a massive sum of money, especially for a Goalkeeper. But something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Above, other posters have been bringing up over inflated transfer fees that other clubs have spent on players, and Ed002 has rightly stated that this is the Liverpool page so other teams are irrelevant. But, Ed002 also states in one of his replies that other teams weren't interested at the price required to buy Alisson, but as this is the Liverpool page it is irrelevant what other teams were and weren't willing to pay.
