Have a little contact a Burnley who I got information off about a month ago now, but decided not to post it as was not sure it was totally correct. However, I believe it is actually Ben Mee and not tarkowski as the defender we are interested in. Let's wait and see what happens. Would surprise me as VVD and Mee play on the same side of defence and would be crazy not to play our best defender in his best position.

Same sides? They are both CBs. Ben Mee has probably had a better year slightly but the age thing would be why Tarkowski seems more likely.
We probably want neither, English players in a smaller team have a great year. English press is always going to link them to the top 4 or 5 teams.

2.) 18 May 2018 18:39:31
They are both left sided centre backs, which ed001 could tell you how important that is more than me I'm sure. Saw VVD move to the right side to play with Klavan and thought he looked okay there so might not be an issue.

3.) 18 May 2018 18:44:44
£35 million transfer fee is the talk.

4.) 19 May 2018 05:03:39
Lascelles from Newcastle would be my choice if we are going for English Centre Back. He has done really well under Rafa and as Captain showed leadership. I think him and Tarkowski have been targeted by the club. If Macca says Tarkowski then it looks like he's the one who they want.

5.) 19 May 2018 08:45:20
Kloppshop-There is a big difference between right and left centre back position. I’m not saying that one couldn’t swap but it’s less than ideal.

6.) 19 May 2018 09:24:14
Tarqowski is better than Lascelles

I’d rather than Lovren and VVD than both though and hopefully this is as a replacement for Matip / Klavan.

7.) 19 May 2018 10:02:11
Alderweireld for me.

8.) 19 May 2018 11:55:02
Tarkowski shouldn’t even be an afterthought. We all saw how poor Keane was when not playing in a team that sticks ten men behind the ball, and Tarkowski is no different. Looked well out of his depth against Italy and will be out of his depth it we sign him. Not withstanding the the fact he’s one of that mob down the road.

9.) 19 May 2018 13:10:10
Craig Dawson for me to replace Matip. Let him, Lovren and Gomez fight for the position alongside VVD.

Probably will get a lot of thumbs down haha but for me he's better than Matip and Tarkowski, and is lethal attacking the ball on corners. Would be on the cheap in comparison to Alderweireld. less injury prone and younger too. My 2 cents.

10.) 19 May 2018 20:56:51
A CB is needed but it's not as if we HAVE to go out and get one now imo. There's other positions need strengthening first, if we do that and then get a CB sure, bring one in but we should really consider Alderweireld if we are looking at cb's otherwise I'd be happy to see Gomez get his chance, the lad will be quality in the future and needs minutes in his preferred position, same goes for TAA in midfield, therefore we need a RB (as Ed1 has been saying for ages) before a CB.

11.) 20 May 2018 08:30:23
FranklyMrShankley- I’m pretty sure Keane still plays for a team that stick 10 men behind the ball!

12.) 20 May 2018 15:39:29
I see zero point in signing tarkowski. He would be the worst cb at the club. Ben mee interests me more but as he is left footed I doubt it will happen.

Ed, younwere saying that we may be looking for a replacement for mignolet. Just wondering if there is no chance at all that reina may be kept next season instead?

{Ed001's Note - never say never, but he doesn't want to be at the club and the club are happy to get rid.}

Eds, was just wondering who, if anyone gets the champions league place if the europa league winners have already qualified for it via the league.
Your work is much appreciated

Big sami

{Ed001's Note - no one gets an extra place then mate.}

Question for ed001 if you're around. Was Biesla spoken to regarding being manager before Rodgers was appointed. And would he be interested in the job were he to be asked?

Cheers

Big sami

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't speak English and that was one of the requirements for the job.}

Hi, a question for Ed002 if possible. You said on the Chelsea site that Moreno was not simple and not encouraging for the club. Do you think that a move is possible for Liverpool and what do you mean by not encouraging for the club.
Thanks for all your hard work.

Big sami

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to go in to detail but a move is certainly possible for Liverpool and the Sevilla fans have offered to drive him to the airport.}

Hi, a question for ed001 if possible. Would like to get your thougts on Jon Flanagan as a player and how he has come on this year. Thanks for all your hard work as well- great site!

Big sami

{Ed001's Note - I really like Flanno, he was pretty much on his way out of the door at one point, but a bad injury saw him given time to recover and work his way back. Since then, he has shown such an excellent attitude, and such desire to improve, that he was given time to work on his game, playing a holding midfield role to see if that suited him. Many youngsters will sulk a bit and lose their way, especially when shifted about into a new role, but he just knuckled down and worked on his game.

He has clearly improved massively, showing not just heart and workrate, but ability too. While not possessing the tricks of a forward, he does have a good intelligence to his game, he learns and listens to instructions. He will still have bad days, but they will get fewer and fewer, as he learns and develops. He reminds me of Dennis Irwin, I know he played for Man Utd, but he was a top class professional and one of the best full backs I have seen play the game. While he is not that good, he is certainly developing nicely and could come close to that level of excellence, in my opinion.}

Was at the game tonight, can safely say from where I was sitting, Henderson was the best player on the park with the angles of his passes and his closing down the space in midfield.

{Ed025's Note - your a liverpool fan looking through red tinted glasses sami and thats fine by me mate.
