Everyone blaming Keita and Gomez, rightly so but Firmino miss controlling and miss placing more than 90%of the passes are also the reasons why we conceded 6. Not only that, but de all know that in general his finishing sucks big time. I've read somewhere that his conversion rate is amongst the worse strikers. Now it's not even about this game but that's the case in most of the games. I know he works hard and can come up with some fancy stuff people love. But, hard work only isn't.

Salah's the only one who's coming out of tonight with any credit.

Goalie and the back 4 have all been poor, midfield constantly got pressed into giving it away, especially in the second half, and the strikers haven't taken the right options.

I just don't see this match in itself as career ending for players.

2.) 04 Oct 2020 21:00:41
Im putting my blame on the lack of leadership for this game - Van Dijk. I still love Liverpool regardless.

3.) 04 Oct 2020 21:03:30
He doesn't always seem to be himself when he has the armband.

4.) 04 Oct 2020 21:09:13
Firmino has been a problem for a while now however tonight they were all rubbish.

Question for ED2, don't know where to post it though :

I've seen that there's a new masters program organised by the Football business academy (FBA) . The course can be completed in 12 months and costs around 30K CHF.

I'm interested as I feel like I already have the attributes needed to succeed such as a background in Tax and finance and a passion for football.

What do you think of this course? Do you think it's worth a try? I already have a job as a tax consultant in Belgium so do you think it's worth the change? Do you reckon this can eventually lead to a higher position in the hierarchy of a football club?

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know the detail but I know who to ask - could you ask me again next week and I will have someone drop him an email.}

1.) 25 Feb 2020 12:05:57
BXL RED,

If you want to stay in Tax and wants to look to get involved in sport (and football) a bit more I would look no further than Deloitte UK (who I work for) . They have a dedicated Sport Business Group and regularly do some interesting tax work for some large international sports organisations.

Red Sandman.

I would love to become a club doctor for Liverpool once I finish my specialization hehe. I'll giv u free tickets if they allow me to ed01!

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, that should be a good enough reason for them to hire you!}

3.) 25 Feb 2020 18:29:30
BXL RED, BXL is the acronym for Brussels. Are you or do you live in Brussels, man?

4.) 26 Feb 2020 05:33:48
Yes mate, I live in Brussels. How do you know about the acronym? Do you live in Brussels too?

5.) 26 Feb 2020 07:34:55
BXL RED, I live in Brussels as well, man. In the Woluwe area.

6.) 27 Feb 2020 05:14:10
Wow may be we can watch the reds play in that irish pub in Louise? Lemme know :)

Salut Ed1, what are your early impressions on the VVD? He seems to me the character we were missing in the squad. Soo confident and composed, great in the air both ways and suits our system perfectly (wish Lovren could also play out from the back) . But I know that he is no Carragher who would put his body through everything to block shots.

BXL RED

{Ed001's Note - far too early to judge him but I do think you are being harsh on Lovren.}

1.) 28 Feb 2018 06:56:41
I really respect Lovren as he seems to have a want to really succeed at Liverpool but personally I think we need another top defender maybe someone a little experienced just to give Gomez that little bit longer to mature into the postion alongside Virgil
someone like Pepe or better yet (dream land time) Bonucci would do me fine.

2.) 28 Feb 2018 09:21:18
I don't agree with constantly changing Lovren and Matip, every game a different one plays. Klopp should make his decision and stick to it. Just as constantly changing keepers didn't work.

A settled back four is very important. Lovren would be my choice, I think VVD and Lovren can form a good partnership.

{Ed001's Note - agreed.}

3.) 28 Feb 2018 09:41:49
I actually like Lovren but just wish he was also good on the ball. that's the reason Klopp is picking Matip for park the bus teams. I would like to see a LOV-VVD partnership.

4.) 28 Feb 2018 10:26:38
Lovren is a good defender. apart from 4-5 blunders a season, he is absolutely fine. Unfortunately when he makes a blunder entire team decides to make blunders the same day.

5.) 28 Feb 2018 12:42:08
I don't think it's such a bad thing Lovren not being great on the ball (He's actually ok anyway) . The last thing we need is 2 centrebacks trying to play - just slows everything down with 2 of them trying to do the same thing. We can see VVD wants to play a bit, and there should be 3 midfielders to provide the creativity required.

I'm happy with Lovren doing the basics, even if it means row Z. VVD can be the 'player' at the back, we don't need someone else performing the same role. Lovren needs to read, intercept, tackle, header, and perform simple passes. That's enough.

6.) 28 Feb 2018 17:42:33
I don't think we need a new cb. Part of me thinks though that the reason he swaps the cbs is to judge them and see which stays which goes and if we need to replace.

I totally get the fact you need a settled back 5, especially cbs and gk. But, I also like the fact that all our cbs are being kept warm, hence no one having to come in who hasn't played for weeks or months. Also, horses for courses. Against the taller teams he plays matip. I prefer lovren though. Haven't seen him make a mistake for weeks and weeks. Vvd calming influence is much appreciated.

My next guess abt the mystery player is Milinkovic Savic.

Isn't it Sir Macca?

BXL RED

{Ed0333's Note - It’s David Speedie and he’s a top top player. Hands up who remembers him?

1.) 19 Jan 2018 04:06:40
last time i checked savic isn't a french international as macca eluded to.

2.) 19 Jan 2018 06:16:03
David Speedie ha ha up there with Sean Dundee in the pantheon of great Liverpool strikers.

3.) 19 Jan 2018 08:14:23
I remember Speedie was one of King Kennys last signings when he was manager first time around. I think he bought Speedie because he wanted more aggression on the field. Scored a few goals for us but it was a strange signing and he was never good enough for Liverpool.

4.) 19 Jan 2018 09:10:23
Didn't know who that Speedie guy was and I went to check. My God this guy had different club every year and played for like 20?

5.) 19 Jan 2018 15:41:56
Speedie along with Jimmy Carter were bizarre signings by the king at the time, but speddie was worth it when he scored that goal in the derby at the Annie Road end and went over and fronted the other crowd behind the goal and celebrated big time, then claimed he thought he was celebrating infront of Liverpool fans. Brilliant.

Saul it. is then

Not bad a. midfield of Saul/ Keita/ Lallana.

BXL RED

1.) 11 Jan 2018 14:52:51
And you know this how exactly? Will be hard for keita to play for us considering he is a red bull leipzig player.

Can't believe there r still fans on this website who still believe on this kind of crap. Just think of this : LFC has better fans, better stadium atmosphere, better manager, better league, more attractive style of play, offer better salary. than Bayern. So, 0% chance some1 leaving for Bayern unless we don't want that player anymore.

As for Salah, yes RM r very attractive as titles r granted but Salah will never have the same appreciation from that club, spanish league is boring, . And the most important thing is we don't want to sell him, never in a million years next season or the season after. He will remain here till the end of his contract and then move to Real unless he starts doing the same as Coutinho (who did what he did after staying 5 years with us) . We just have to b successful on the pitch and offer him the best salary in the premier league as he's already the league's best player.

Hope that helps for anyone worried.

Are u serius lad? U listen to that AH? He's worse than Trump

U can find analysis of Keita's game on Youtube. There's one worth watching. After reading and watching several analysis I can conclude that he's the player we are missing in our midfield. He has a great engine, can carry the ball, likes to dribble and waltz through the midfield and if there's no better option he continues and attacks the defence, makes space for a shot and usually ends up scoring from the edge of the box. It doesn't work everytime as u can imagine.

He uses his dribbling quality and speed to that (little bit like Mane but better in terms of dribbling) . The other thing he does frequently is through balls, he always tries them and more often than not succeeds (prefers short passes so can't judge him on long passes) . He also intercepts very well as he has the ability to read the plays and also uses his speed to do that. Tackles when needed but can be reckless at times (like Dele Ali) . Not sure if I can judge his defensive work like getting back in time during opposition attacks, defending set pieces, following instructions.

Anyway, he's not a CDM neither an AM. He's really box to box with creativity, assists and goals in him. So, he's exactly the player we are missing in midfield as Can, Henderson and Gini aren't good enough or have zero creativity against EUROLINES/

Hope that helps.

It should be Sam Allardyche, he's probably using a VPN server located in Bolton.

{Ed002's Note - Someone says it is The Firm.}

U guys joking or what? Salah won't be leaving LFC in the near future. Perhaps in 3/ 4 years after performing consistently. I hope we start winning things quickly to avoid this.

BXL RED

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine - you need to understand that clubs become interested in players doing well - particularly those who approach them. }

May be he's only good at weird hairstyles? And I guess his agent does a great job influencing people on social media that Pogba is a talented player? LOL.

Dont think anyone would buy Pogba for more than 50 million. I genuinly fail to see hype. Wijnaldum is 3 times the player if I'm being gentle with Pogba :)

Ed2 agrre completely with u apart from the Solanke part : he was given opportunities (even though Sturridge was fit at that time) at the beginning of the season but he didn't take them unfortunately. Now he has to wait for the next one and prove. I guess it wasn't more than a promise of "giving opportunities by merit"? I'm sure Klopp didn't promise him a certain number of minutes even if he doesn't derserve it.

BXL RED

{Ed002's Note - Right, so that is not what Klopp told Solanke. Liverpool have avoided the tribunal to complete his transfer and that has not gone unnoticed; and there is a reason beyond the transfer fee.}
