Hi all, is it still accustomed for the Liverpool supporters to buy an away ticket for Champions League matches, and not go? Just to have the match on it's fancard, so he is eligible for tickets in the next rounds? I'm asking because I want to go to the Genk match (it's close to my home), and ofcourse want to sit in the LFC end. Or else I have to cough up 180€ to sit with the homesupporters (and go and watch 3 games) .

You’ve got no chance of the LFC end mate, unless you buy black market.

2.) 11 Sep 2019 19:20:40
Ok, I thought so.
Maybe I’ll try my luck. Haven’t decided yet.
Thanks.

3.) 11 Sep 2019 20:41:36
Yeah, you are probably right, people get tickets to have it on their record for future purchases.
I was at the FA cup semi against Villa a few years ago which was a sell out but it was full of empty seats.

Just read that Kovac has said, Martinez and Coman didn't had any cramps last night.
And Martinez took his own shoe off after a "foul" from Henderson, and it took two minutes to get it back on.

I really hate this side of football, especially from a side like Bayern.

Oh well. they won't change will they?

Alvarez

{Ed001's Note - so basically admitting cheating then? Sad that no one will even act to punish them. We all knew it at the time anyway.}

1.) 20 Feb 2019 18:05:01
Stopped clock anyone? Might “slow the game down” as it’s detractors say, but would rule out time wasting for good and all.

2.) 20 Feb 2019 18:21:08
So Kovac just admitted to them time-wasting by "not" admitting that they did. Got it, Sparky!

3.) 20 Feb 2019 19:59:04
I'm all for the stopped clock but I'm more for proper punishments in order to remove this BS from football altogether but unfortunately bugger all will be done about it, as per usual.

{Ed025's Note - just another form of cheating im afraid salah...talking of downright cheats i thought mo louganis was poor last night.. :)

4.) 20 Feb 2019 20:59:15
2 minutes to get it back on? 😄

Can’t he tie his laces? Maybe he should be wearing velcro fastening boots.

5.) 20 Feb 2019 22:06:15
Stopped clock all day long, wanted it for years, as long as refs keep it moving no probs.

6.) 20 Feb 2019 23:27:45
It’s not just the time though, it’s more about halting momentum and disrupting play. I’m sure the ref added time on.

7.) 21 Feb 2019 03:36:02
stop the clock for me too.
the added time is too ambiguous.

8.) 21 Feb 2019 06:29:00
Ed001 on your review of henderson you said he uses the tactical foul well on occasions. That's another form of cheating. Is that not sad?
If Liverpool are 1 up in Munich Liverpool players will be time wasting too.
That and feigning injury are traits i don't like. Clock stopping is 1 way to suppress time wasting for sure.

{Ed001's Note - I don't get your point, did I say I liked it on his profile? It is not me saying what I like about the game, it is saying what a player does well and doesn't do well. Why do people always have to turn it into an agenda?

If Liverpool are 1 up in Munich and time wasting then I would be disappointed as they should be going for a second to kill the game off. Especially as being 1 up would mean Munich would need 2 with the away goals rule, so you can afford to take the chance and go for the jugular. And there are different ways to time waste anyway, not by cheating but by just playing keep-ball.}

9.) 21 Feb 2019 08:02:22
Yup, the coach admitted to cheating.
Sad really.

10.) 21 Feb 2019 18:50:54
Totally agree the best way to kill a game off is to keep the ball and score another.
Im not turning it into an agenda but my pet hate is the tactical foul and for me a yellow is not punishment enough. But players are often praised for it or excused with comments like ' he took one for the team' for me its no worse than diving or rolling around eating time.

{Ed001's Note - I am in complete agreement. I hate it. It is cheating and should be called as much. You don't realise how often I reworded the profile on Henderson to put that in as I was trying not to give my opinion on those things, just on what is a strength or weakness of a player's game in terms of the results it gets.}

11.) 21 Feb 2019 19:38:12
I hear you pal. I want having a go its just the phrase you hear all the time 'that was a good foul' for me it should be a 20 min sin bin there is no good way to cheat.

How about Benitez as a Director of Foortball?

Alvarez

1.) 31 Mar 2015 13:05:11
Hmmm, a DoF with a completely different idea as to how the team play to our current manager. Not just that, but where BR has played the expansive, attacking high press game, this is what most of us fans have relished too. So, would you want to dump all that to return to Rafa's style of play?

2.) 31 Mar 2015 14:05:53
It wouldn't happen, but Rodgers ideas and style of play combined with Rafa's experience could be a great combination. Rodgers could learn a lot from Rafa especially defensively.

3.) 31 Mar 2015 14:22:33
weren't we the highest in the league one year under rafa? and i'd take being number one in Europe again and actualy wining trophies then not

4.) 31 Mar 2015 14:32:20
As much as I like BR's style of play, I don't think he will take the club forward. He just hasn't got the tactical nouse, and by the looks of it, he never will.
Liverpool doesn't always play high press IMO, but when they do they play well, but man. when they don't, they're soooo tedious.

Your question; LFC were indeed quite defensive in those Benitez days. So. maybe not, no.

5.) 31 Mar 2015 15:31:38
I would love Rafa as the next boss if Rodgers doesn't get top 4. For me he is still one of the very best coaches out there and he is available.

6.) 31 Mar 2015 15:40:05
When we people realise it is not BR's style of play, he got that idea from Biesla. and he reverted back to his own style due to his arrogance and hey presto we struggled the first part of the season!!!
Rafa wanted us to play flowing football with a strong defence and he actually won stuff which to me show pedigree and knowledge of what he is doing.

7.) 31 Mar 2015 19:37:07
I might get a bit of stick for this but. Rafa was a tactical genius, he frustrated and annoyed the hell out of Fergie and mourinho, he very nearly won us the league and built a great team, put it this way he's that respected he signed alonso, garcia and mascherano without a whimper. Liverpool cannot do that anymore, benitez as a dof is an excellent idea. He was unfortunate during his time at Liverpool due to the problems with the owners. If he had a stable boardroom back then I firmly believe he would still be our manager

8.) 01 Apr 2015 12:30:11
Lerchy - changing history? Regards to winning the league, he was as close as BR came (and before anyone cries 'but BR had Suarez on fire', Rafa has Gerrard, Torres, Carragher, Alonso and Mascherano on fire). Regarding player signing - we also missed out on plenty of big name targets and bought some expensive duds under Rafa. Lots of them. The big names that we bought generally weren't actually that big when we got them (like Alonso, Garcia and Mascherano) - we made them what they are, especially Alonso. We weren't picking up the big boys because Rafa was so respected - we were making them

Har_red92, it's the issue that he assured them both to be nr1. I'm with you that they didn't preform enough.
Klopp had done it before though, promising a lot to a young player, but not living up to it.

Oh well, like everything: It's not black/ white is it?

@Har-red92:

Oops Firmino, my bad :-D

Regarding Karius and Mignolet, he said to both of them that they were the number 1 goalkeeper.

O yeah Klopp. As nice as he does seem.
Remember these transfers?
Van Dijk: paid way more because of his tapping up.
Grujic: Lied to his parents en WP comittee about game time. Keita: Paid to much
Firmino: Paid to much
Fekir: something else fishy.
And he lied to Mignolet/ Karius about nr1 spot last year.

There's undoubtedly more.

Chris Bart-Williams, the gem of Cham Man 93 (I think) . He would score 60+ goals for me every season, before jetting off to Italy.
