Can we see Macca updates as January approaches. Are we out of way with regard to VVd?

Alhassan

{Ed033's Note - If Macca has any info, Macca might post it on this site if you're lucky.

I wonder why Barcelona even want Coutinho, i don't think he is solution to their problems in recent times. They lack pace in their team both the back and up front, for the flare and creativity they have much and never short of with Messi in their side. And Coutinho is another flare and creative player, they should leave him for us.

Alhassan

1.) 16 Aug 2017 04:42:16
They wanted Verratti. He is not leaving PSG so they want Coutinho to replace Iniesta. Makes sense.
They will add pace up front through Dembele. And they have enough firepower to not care about how c**p their defenders are.

2.) 16 Aug 2017 04:42:57
They want him to be iniesta replacement. A number 6 or 8.

3.) 16 Aug 2017 06:07:13
Number 6? - I mean Mascherano as a centre back makes some sense, but Coutinho? Not convinced he is the answer to their defensive woes.

{Ed001's Note - I am glad I am not the only one who wondered! I was thinking I must be getting old(er) and (more) forgetful as I remembered 6 being one of the centre halves.}

4.) 16 Aug 2017 10:48:12
Tony Adams always wore the no. 5 or no. 6 back in the day, Ed. The person playing today's #6 role always wore the #4 shirt.

5.) 16 Aug 2017 08:37:47
If Barcelona have enough firepower not to worry about their defence, how did Real Madrid tear them a new one the other day? And why didn't they win their league last season?

6.) 16 Aug 2017 16:01:27
Agreed Ed001. I guess he means because Sergio Biscuits wears 6, Coutinho playing deep would make him a 6 also. Even if we treat that comment how it was intended to be taken, I can't see how Barcelona could have seen Countinho playing on our left-wing and thought "He looks like a replacement for Buscuits".

Ed002, i read arabnews last night where they mentioned a British financier Amanda Staveley negotiating a possible takeover of lfc and spurs in Saudi Arabia. Any info on this Ed002?

Alhassan

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware that she is looking to broker a deal to sell Liverpool again, but the price given for Spurs is likely too high to attract a buyer. Newcastle and Southampton are other potential offerings - Southampton having second thoughts over the deal with Lander as they have been advised the value is higher than that agreed.}

Ed002, #WonderDogSparky on Twitter with irony that lfc have agree fee with leipzig and Keita will travel to England today, his irony is deep. Do you ask him about it Ed002? and please break it down for lay man.

Alhassan

{Ed002's Note - I think you should read all three tweets.}

1.) 14 Jul 2017 17:11:56
You on twitter ed?

{Ed002's Note - I am not - you need the giver of truth.}

2.) 14 Jul 2017 19:02:01
Ed2 is wds.
Macca says yes, ed2 says no.

People raving about TAA potential and scouse, and yes he is good. But my preferential scouse has been Flanagan ever since he comes to light at lfc. He has great character and attitude, fantastic positioning and awareness with good passing range, a tough man now! I will have him to provide cover to a new left back instead of Milner. Just my opinion though.

Alhassan

1.) 12 Jul 2017 23:29:47
Both of them are good lads, but TAA has more potential in my opinion, but each to their own of course.

2.) 12 Jul 2017 23:38:24
Can't agree Alhassan. I've loved flanno's passion but often thought he jumped in too eagerly and was exposed by pacey tricky wingers. TAA also has age on his side. Like other posters have said, if flanno was going to make it, he wouldn't have sat on the bench when out on loan.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 00:20:23
Flano's main attribute is defending. Which should be the main focus of a fullback in my opinion. Klopp prefers fullbacks with quality going forward so I don't think John will be in his plans. It's a shame as the lad has the rare quality to get the crowd going when we're on the back foot. The perfectly timed crunching tackle. We've missed that since Carra and even Gerrard would throw a few in every now and then. A scouser who'll put his body on the line for 90 minutes. I miss Carragher. Not the tosser on sky sports but the big fella screaming at his teammates and battling Drogba and coming out on top. Could Flano be our new Carra. A few seasons ago I was optimistic, now I'm not so sure.

4.) 13 Jul 2017 02:31:41
The little bit I saw Flano play last year, he looked tentative and slow. Played very safe with a lot of sideways or backwards passing. I loved him before he got injured but I think too many people are judging him by what he was like pre-injury. Having said that I didn't see last nights match so is anyone able to provide a review on his performance?

5.) 13 Jul 2017 03:42:58
Scootinio I completely agree with you but unfortunately tackling like that is bearly none existing in football nowadays and refs are too strict on it also.

I myself am a HUGE fan of those CRUNCHING challenges as it has always shown true passion. Specially because it was always more common on games vs United which made them much more exciting

Maybe flano could be turned into a CB? Probably not as he can’t really jump and isn’t tall enough.
It is a shame, 10+ years ago he would have been perfect for the game : (.

6.) 13 Jul 2017 00:37:16
Burkeyboy, i believe player like Flanagan learns even sitting on bench because of what you admit 'passion' and of course zeal. His awareness and positioning sense will help him deal with pacey and trickish players as he is of age now as you mentioned. Like i said, i will prefer him to cover a new left back instead of Milner.

7.) 13 Jul 2017 12:11:56
The same Flanagan that struggled to get a game last season at a club he should be holding the position when fit. He's just not Champions League quality which is what we should be aiming for. TAA could be.

I must agree with @Jayden23. Mahrez look to me the closest to Coutinho, he can open any team with his brilliant passing, good left foot too. He will do well with our front three. and if he were to come here i believe he will improve his work rate which is his weakness.

#superred91 how many quality players do you sign before? Every player are good and better. What evidence do you think fsg and board will sanction monies to add quality to this lfc side, when Torress was sold, Suarez, sterling and now Coutinho is going?

If their plan is to replace Iniesta like Ed002 is saying, then lfc should negotiate a deal to bring Iniesta plus cash. Iniesta can still offer us two years in pl?

Alhassan

{Ed002's Note - They would certainly be open to that but I don't know if the player would be interested.}

May be it's #GraemeKelly Ed002 is referring to on Twitter. To #clfc, don't worry cfc, mcfc, munited will go bankrupt before lfc, because they have been spending loads on fees and wages since the last decades.

Alhassan

{Ed002's Note - That wasn't it. He has an invisible friend Hanz something or other.}

@Salah you mean, you prefer 11set of Milners who wants to be here than Coutinho? There is a reason Coutinho wants to leave and that was the reason Milner wouldn't had signed for us in his elite career. That is winning, and i won't hate player for that. Modern game is expensive and we can cheat our way to success.
Players must be motivated by the ambition of the club administration.

The defence that has been poor since 2011 - 2012 is because of Klopp. Very educative from you.

Ed002, please how can klopp force FSG to come out with a statement? Employee and employer, it look absurd. Means Klopp is to be blame for Coutinho's transfer request.

Alhassan

{Ed002's Note - Klopps illegal and unprofessional behavior forced them to make a humiliating public apology to Southampton. Klopp has been the one who is adamant to Pipco is not to be sold - hence the statement and hence the transfer request.}

I don't just like Carragher even when he was still at anfield, but he is saying what an average lfc fan would say. FSG promised a project when they came and under different managers the inconsistency on field is apparent, no one can tell where the project will lead to. Honestly, it will be wishful fan minded between me and you to say that lfc will win a cup or challenge for the tittle this season, and you know why, the truth is our ambitions then and now is still the same, we can't match the ambitions of our quality players in giving them the services they needed on field to winning trophies. we all see how our star players leaves with lots of monies in the club's coffers.
