Hi Eds
With the possible departures of Kelleher and Pitaluga, do you know of any keepers LFC have shown interest in? I know about the dutch lad at Anderlecht but are there others being considered right now?
Apologies if this has already been covered, i did try the search function but couldn't see much there.

AJ1981

{Ed002's Note - Bart Verbruggen (G) If promoted, Burnley will move for the player. Agent has offered the player to Spurs and others as his chances of ousting Van Crombrugge are slim and he wants first team football. Liverpoool, knowing that Caoimhin Kelleher will likely leave to get more game time, have sent scouts to watch him. Southampton were looking at the player last season but went on to sign Gavin Bazuno, and that has worked out well. Go Ahead Eagles failed with a bid last summer.

Pitaluga would not need replacing if he leaves.}

To be honest if the main option is a kid from a very weak league who wants first team football, I'd just hold on to Adrian for 1 more year and give Harvey Davies the chance to be 2nd or 3rd choice.

He's absolutely smashed it at all the youth levels and been training with the first team for about a year. People will say he has no experience but neither did Kelleher until he was given an opportunity in the FA Cup because the senior team was 4000 miles away in the Club World Cup.

Alisson will play every game in the League and Europe anyway. Let the young scouser have the domestic cups, I say. See what he's made of.

2.) 27 Apr 2023 13:51:55
Replacing Adrian with a veteran HG goalkeeper would be a wise move. Adrian isn't particularly good and also takes up a non-HG number.

Somebody here mentioned Robert Zieler. Might be one to consider.

3.) 27 Apr 2023 14:03:09
FPF, i'd be happy with that. I like Adrian as a bloke but like you say, it is a waste of a non-HG slot.

4.) 27 Apr 2023 14:29:38
Himo Horns a free agent, would be perfect.

5.) 27 Apr 2023 21:38:57
MK- You say Alisson will play every game next season but he normally doesn’t as he’s quite prone to injury for a goalkeeper, that’s why imo we need a handy backup rather than just any old free transfer.

6.) 28 Apr 2023 00:02:38
@CobraCraig "handy backup" - I like what you did there. ?

Definitely wouldn't want to lose Kelleher, he is a keeper.

7.) 28 Apr 2023 08:39:22
CobraCraig, he's not missed a game through injury in over 2 years mate. He missed 6 games with injury in the 20/ 21 season, and 14 games with injury in the 19/ 20 season. There has been the odd game he's missed on top of that with sickness or C.V. but basically 20 games missed with injury in the 5 seasons and most of them came in 1 season 3 years ago.

I think Adrian and Davies are good enough to cover personally. Adrian has won 2 cup finals with us, the last one only being about 9 months ago against City.

8.) 28 Apr 2023 13:31:52
For a keeper Allison picks up injuries relatively frequently. For that matter so did Kelleher.
I’d want a decent 2nd choice keeper and a HG option seems sensible. He could get his games in the EL and domestic cups so not exactly gathering splinters on the bench either.

9.) 28 Apr 2023 15:36:09
Adrian should be released he is on £60k a week to be 3rd choice is madness and he is nowhere near good enough if Alisson is injured and like someone said total waste of a non home grown player.

10.) 28 Apr 2023 17:13:04
His contract is up Grino. I'd offer him a year extension with a wage cut or try and find a homegrown keeper in that similar 33-37 age range. A 3rd keeper is important. It's normally those older heads who will stay behind with young kids to practice after training. Or give advice to the young keepers. You can't underestimate the importance of a senior 2nd or 3rd choice keeper.

I would be all for swapping him for a homegrown alternative though if there is one out there available to us. Zieler would be perfect for example.

Apparently we've had scouts in Portugal watching Rui Patricio, Carvalho & Danilo (of Braga)
How serious is LFC's interest in these 3?

AJ1981

1.) 14 Apr 2015 15:00:44
They'd cost about £60m. No chance at all

13 Apr 2015 07:50:20
Hi Eds,
I've had a couple of mates of mine saying LFC are looking at Timo Horn as possible back up to Mig.
Any truth in this?

AJ1981

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

1.) 13 Apr 2015 23:14:26
Horns been playing regular football last 2 seasons now can't see him coming to Liverpool at his age to be number 2.

Hi eds,

Have tou got any updates on player departures?
Are we actively trying to offload the likes of Enrique, Balotelli, Borini, Lambert etc?

If so, do you know of any interest from anywhere?

AJ1981

{Ed002's Note - Nothing
new.}

08 Jun 2015 08:39:20
Any info on our supposed interest in Bentaleb from Spurs?

AJ1981

{Ed002's Note - I don't, sorry.}

Hi Eds,
Assuming GK is a position LFC are looking to strengthen in summer, especially with Jones on the way out, do any of you know who they are likely to be looking at?
Will it be a back up to Mig or are they looking for someone to be genuine 1st choice?

AJ1981

1.) 18 May 2015 00:08:26
A new GK coach should be priority nr 1.

2.) 18 May 2015 01:28:05
Promote Danny Ward and get a new GK coach in because the one we have right now, is a shambles.

3.) 18 May 2015 04:30:27
Ward's contract is up in the summer, and with Vigouroux getting a new contract (likely br 3rd choice at first team), I can't imagine Ward getting a contract too. So, he will leave.

Hi Eds,

I was just wondering if anything has been said regarding any potential sale of LFC?

Do FSG have a genuine "long term plan" for the club or are they listening to offers?

If so, who is the likeliest buyer?

Thanks

AJ1981

{Ed002's Note - This has all been dealt with before - now is not the time to raise it again AJ.}

1.) 10 Apr 2015 18:15:19
2017 is the year that things could happen mate according to Ed002(I may be very mistaken)

Same can be said for Guardiola & Rijkaard. Both very defensive midfield players but playvery attacking football as manager.

We had agreed a deal with Sevilla earlier in the season.
Presumably Sevilla felt they couldn't get out of it so struck a deal with Celta.
I don't know what money exchanged hands though???

Not for me thanks.
Walcott would be decent out wide (if he can stay fit) but he's not good enough to play central for an entire season

I really don't understand why LFC would move Balotelli on to sign another expensive, underperforming striker. A much older one at that
