If this isn’t corruption (not just against Liverpool) then we really have a problem with incompetence at the highest level.

In the real world you would be given a formal warning for your first mistake. A final warning for your second and fired for your third.

These referees are incompetent but get “taken off the next game” and that’s it. How do you learn from your mistakes if that’s how they are treated. Frankly it’s ridiculous, either give the var to someone not associated with the English refs and get an independent body in, or sack the incompetent refs and get ones who can get the work done how it should be.

This is the problem we face that no one is held accountable as.

Too much energy into what will not change. Mistakes happen. Unfortunately we were at receiving end. As always these balance out.
Lets talk about football and how this team is something we have always expected from Liverpool. Passion and heart on sleeve.

Akira, this is NOT a mistake. How can we talk football when we got rolled over this much? Man, relax with that stuff. This is blatant incompetence bordering on match fixing, my friend so enuff with deferring to human error. Keep in mind that it was the PL in their infinite "wisdom" who refused the automated offside system that works a treat in the CL, to be implemented in the PL.

Based on the statement from the PGMOL, the VAR's thought the goal was given. How the football did 3 VAR officials miss that. Where where they at? Were they not watching the game at all? Sorry, that dog won't hunt. For me, they were NOT watching the game at that time and the PGMOL put that rubbish out to cover for them and NOBODY is buying it.

Last thing, the whole "things balancing out" schtick is hogwash cos VAR was brought in to take this narrative away and award teams the decisions they actually deserve in real time and not wait in hope that things balance out. So can you put a time linne on when this will "even out" for LFC, then? Your logic here is flawed up and down the wazoo, mate. Just my opinion.

The club can’t come out and say corruption. However, that statement goes as close to that line as the could.

The midweek trip to the UAE by some of the officials involved in Saturday’s game needs to be fully investigated.

How much were they paid to referee that game? How often do EPL refs officiate games in the UAE? Why would a league that is well down the pecking order in world football need to hire EPL refs?

If I’m getting 5x or 10x my normal fee for services, I will want to please those paying for it if I know it will mean additional work in the future.

Could that be the case in this situation? I don’t know. But it is not a good look.

The billions of $$ spent worldwide on tickets, TV, and streaming services by all the fans and we get this level of service? It’s disgraceful.

Akira2 I disagree. If I made a mistake in my line of work that had the consequences this did I’d of killed someone and ended up in jail.

It might be football but the clubs are also employers playing for millions of pounds of prize money etc. the refs are employees and again paid handsomely for what they do. They make “mistakes” of this magnitude and it affects a mutli billion dollar company.

The results may not lead to death with someone making as mistake like my job can but it can lead to a club being relegated etc. there are consequences for every human error and this is no different.

Exactly, Centerpoint. What that football where these bros. doing down therein the UAE reffing game whereas they are fully aware that the govt. own Man City? No conflict of interest there, I guess. Just a bunch of lads on a jolly to the UAE to ref a game and get paid serious dough from a club's owners. Nothing to see here, I guess.

One positive to take from yesterday is this team is starting to look a bit special, Spurs could be in with a chance of top four and I fully believe we'll finish above them now, even after the defeat.

I don't want to pile on with the ref talk because I think a lot of it has been rightly called out on here, but one incident that really stood out was the so called foul that lead to Salahs booking, for me that highlighted this was someting other than incompetence.

I would of been tempted to take the players off the pitch in protest, no way these officials should get away with making an outcome in the favour they wanted.

I've had my suspicions about the refs since last year but always assumed I was just being paranoid. Starting this year, I felt I was starting to see enough to voice those suspicions. What we saw this week and the evidence coming out is beyond belief, and in my opinion, there is little doubt left that there is blatant match fixing occuring the premiere league.

The truth about whether it was corruption or incompetence (if there's any chance of that left) will be whether they take action to correct the mistake. So let's see what happens.

Honest question, is there a recourse for the club or fans to demand an investigation?

We’d have to go back multiple games but there are plenty of occasions we’ve received the rub of the green from ref/ VAR.

There are no referees left in the english game. We have a bunch of inexperienced referees all across the board. This won't change overnight no matter how much we shout. Experience and common sense can't be taught. Let’s concentrate on what’s important and that is football.
You want to blame its ok. But calling it corruption without evidence is not Ok. Incompetence yes, inexperience yes . But there is no stupid conspiracy going on.
I humbly implore all fans to enjoy the football this season and keep away from inconsequential blabber. We can't change the decisions and too much such talk just effects the team.
Its going to be a brilliant season, let's just support the team 100% and keep away from negativity.

@Akira, I don't agree to your logic, because at the end of the season, this may affect the outcome of where we would finish, for example say we finished a point below mancity, this game will come into reference, so that's just my take on the matter.

Akira2, let it go, mate. You are asking people to ignore the very things they are seeing with their own eyes (in some cases, 4 eyes like me) and "just focus on the football". No, we will not "just focus on the football" while there is a clear and present dumpster fire ravaging the PL named "incompetent refs protected by the PGMOL making disasterous decisions". Okay, so that was a long one, lol.

On the contrary, you asking us to "just focus on football" is actually what the PGMOL want so this issue can go away. I hope it doesn't and the club ain't letting it go either. Therefore, you are free to " just focus on the football" while the rest of us multi-task. Peace and Love.
