Always love reading your positive messages about Utd shappy, but I have to disagree, Utd for me seem stuck not knowing what identity they want, and it’s been the same since Ferguson left.

I still think your 4/ 5 quality players from a proper title challenge. Your midfield is not full of energy. You’re looking to sign Amrabat who for me is not what you need.

You signed an unproven striker (“the next Halaand” apparently) with 6 goals all season. And I just think you still have to much old players who were never good enough for Utd still at Utd.

You just seem to be signing players who just aren’t quite good enough. You need a lb yet are signing the spurs outcast on loan. It’s not good business and I think UTD will struggle to make top 5 this season.

Hi Shappy,
Unfortunately your article is a little out of date player wise.

Do you really think you've improved that much? I don't see much difference between you now and when Ole was in charge if I'm honest. The squad is pretty poor and I don't think there is one player I'd want at Liverpool. It looks like the team has even regressed from last season. The players don't look up for the fight.

The new forward you bought could be decent but your midfield and defence is bang average.

Its not Just adding numbers into the midfield. You get that anyways from Gakpo who is dropping into the middle.
Here we simply dominate possession and the midfield is heavily involved. Players like Jones, Mc allsiter, Szobo and Elliot are skillful footballers rich in techncal skills rather than mere "Chasers and donkey runners from morning to evening" Plus klopp clearly wants to utilize Trent's passing ability and probably would see him in that deep lying role in future. Thiago would also excel in this system.

Of course there are drawbacks. Your flanks becomes empty. Salah and Diaz will have to to run up and down like mad dogs.

But think this for a second if we get a world class LCB and a proper DM then we are not exposed to anything imo.

The two biggest casualties of this sytem would be Robertson and Nunez. they just don't fit.

Shappy, I'm not even sure Utd have fixed your goalkeeping problem cos Onana to me, is a pure accident waiting to happen and is a danger to the safety of the opposition already. Just ask Wolves. And I have not even gotten to the other parts of your team yet.

Your midfield is something I cannot make out. I can't tell what ETH is trying to do nor what he wants Utd to be. Are you a pressing team? A possession team that like to dominate the ball? I don't know, honestly. Now some of your fans want Casemiro gone. You tell me what you think cos I don't know.

In the attack, it's even more foggy, IMO. I don't know what Hojlund will be but I know what Antony is now and he is not getting better. IMO, he is getting worse. Same with Sancho. Rashford is your only goal threat and when he is off form, Im not sure what's going to happen right now. So have you improved? For now respectfully, No. Just my take.
