Nunez came into a side that went on to have a realy bad season, when we get things working properly again and become a constant threat going forward, nunez is going to be a menace and I can see him bagging 20+ goals next season quite comfortably.

I know football is a confidence sport and when the team plays well it can correlate to individual players and vice-versa. Nunez did the fundamentals all wrong for me, misses glaringly clear cut chances and often didn’t look up quick enough to identify the pass. Again to counter that he would often do something out of the blue that was fantastic. I’m not sold on him personally, I think he lacks the same footballing brain as many of our players but I think this season will be a defining factor for him. Hope to be proved completely wrong.

If he man’s up and stops getting sore toe injuries etc he might get consistency going until then for me he’s still raw and a bench warmer!

Nunez will be world class. I said that when we played Benfica and again when he looked like he was off to Utd.
He has everything this kid. We’ve only seen it in flashes so far but once he’s settled and learns the lingo there will be fireworks. Trust me.
Selling him now would be akin to Chelsea selling De Bruyne and Salah, it will definitely come back to haunt us.

Nunez had a really bad season. a bit harsh don't you think.
May not have been prolific as in the Portugese league, I thought he did ok. Considering there are many attackers in the world who scored less but still considered to have a good season. 9 in 29 for an 80mill player isn't what you'd really want but he joined a team who didn't appear to have a plan on how to best integrate him. But he looked danergous at times and played on the left side a few times. Not making excuses for him and he was never worth 65 to 80 mill we payed for him. That is not his fault.

I would also like to add that his decision making increased tenfold as the season went on. I think he got less minutes on account of Diaz coming back and Gakpo playing so well. I feel this lack of minutes glossed over his improved all round play.

Give the lad a bit more time eh. Foreign country and language. Agree with becker he has the quality. Not sure he will be world class though but hopefully. A bit more calm when he gets a chance needed though. trying too hard to impress the fans. He'll get there.

Actually Snoots, all Nunez had to do is take 6 of the big chances he missed despite playing in a dysfunctional team and he would have been on 20 in all comps. and none of this noise is a thing at all, IMO.

At that point, what we all would be saying is how great a season he had under the wretched circumstances he was forced into while at the same time, recognising that he can clearlly go up a level and improve aand get even better. Those are the types of margins we are dealing with here, IMO.

All Nunez had to do was take 6 more chances and he would have had 20 in all comps. and nobody is saying any of this stuff nor getting down on him saying he had a bad season as if he was the only or one of the few bricking it in a dysfunctional team under an indecisive manager. I can name several players who had a bad season including the manager who signed him so that type of rhetoric is just OTT, imo.
