Did we really spend 46m on Benteke. Also Keita and allison almost cost the same. is this a definitive list then Everton were robbed of 50m by swans and we by villa.

{Ed001's Note - it's a list according to Transfermarkt, so the amounts are subjective as they only take into account declared amounts from the initial time of sale. There is no adjustment in these fees for how much was actually paid, as some would have had less actually paid due to players not triggering bonuses. Others would have had more as they did trigger bonuses. Sadly they sometimes include the bonuses in the figure they are using and sometimes don't. We certainly didn't receive anything like that much for Coutinho, for instance, or at least not yet we haven't. That would be the amount if all clauses had to be paid. So it is not entirely reliable unfortunately. Unless they actually bothered to spend the many, many hours it would take combing through all the clubs' accounts year on year and matching it up with the TMS, there will never be a definitive list.}

Are figures pounds or euros ed?
310m neymar! Its insane!
All liverpool related stuff in this is post FSG which shows how much they have spent and supported the club. Its really something for look at.

{Ed001's Note - euros.}

Cheers for that Ed, just bonkers to see how inflated players have become when Zidane is 20 million cheaper than Harry Maguire. Much appreciated. Have a great day.

What's clear from some of those huge fees that some transfers in that list above is that so many players no longer played anywhere close to their best level following their glamour move. Only the players we know as having a strong mental attitude have shown to be worth the value paid. Most of those players haven't been worth the investment to their club. The few names that remain on that list from transfers before this decade have been the opposite in terms of being far more successful. Ronaldo, zidane, nedved, ronaldo9, buffon as the rare ones that still exist in top 100 despite the exploding market over last 10 years. Those days players were far more likely to be worth their real value compared to so many today being vastly over rated and over paid.
