Did anyone else put the match on last night and wondered when we’d re-signed Djibril Cisse?!

{Ed001's Note - that was my first thought as well!}

Let’s be honest though once the match started did anyone actually see Origi. Bobby creates space and Origi seems to take up space and get in the way. It’s a shame really as last season he had some big moments but for me he’s gone backwards this season instead of pushing on.

Origi taking up space is exactly why Bobbie will always play. Origi cannot do what Bobbie does that is, draw players out of position to create space for Salah and Mane to occupy and do damage, as we saw vs Villa when Bobbie came on and the gaps suddenly started to open.

Origi is fine as an impact sub. He’s big and Direct and good in the air. Perfect for the last 15. But when he starts in the line up, you notice a massive drop in quality and he cannot function in the team.
This is where we need that better player, sadly we can’t afford anyone atm.

Origi is a differnet player to bobby. and we should adjust accordingly when he is starting or use him in conjunction with bobby or with Taki.

We don't need to afford anyone, we just need to move Origi on and bring Brewster back to be the 4th choice forward.

Why do we need to move Origi on?
Liverpool’s starting XI weren’t disastrous or anything, but give credit to Villa.
They were well organised and carried a threat at times themselves.
The game at theirs was hard work too, if you recall?
We moved the ball around ok, I thought Keita was fine, and Villa were knackered late on.
The substitutions were perfect, that mixture of added energy and guile, and at the right time that Villa were tiring.
A good squad win that.

I’m all for giving Brewster a go as I think he has potential but he doesn’t have the movement of Bobby yet. Maybe training day in day out he could develop it tho.

Couldn't think of anything worse for Breqster than bringing him back to train and sit on the bench.

Still much better movement than Origi though, and would fancy him to put a chance away much more than Origi aswell.

Brilliant response there, Juicer. Villa were very well organized and constricted the spaces to make sure no gaps were open regardless of how much we moved them around.

Sometimes, I think we should start giving credit to the other teams as well cos they have good coaches on the other side and good players who get paid to do a job as well. These things happen or do we rather want to become City who huff and puff and still get beat by these same parked buses.

Origi is ineffective out wide and if he does not get the service he needs when playing centrally (where he is more effective as we have seen countless times) then that is the manager's fault for not putting him in a position to succeed. If you are going to play the kid or Mino or Brewster or any other CF, play to their strengths and quit blaming the player for not passing the ball to himself and scoring.
