If your wife said to you she is leaving you because she has found somebody with a 6 pack and a tan, but 12 months later they have split up and she wants to come back to you
What would your answer be?

Nooooooo!

So, sorry Phil your not welcome back.

Haha nice comparison JB. I think People take transfers too personally. Every player we have signed has left a club and heartbroken / bitter fans behind somewhere else . I’m 50/ 50 on Coutinho coming back. However if Klopp wants him and he came he would be getting my full support.

Good point JK23.

I let my personal feelings stop me from thinking about the possible move at first.

Its not going to happen though. Must say im enjoying being the team taking Barcelona's stars for a change (or talking about it at least)

12 months later? I'd already be on my 2nd wife by then!

Don't want Phil anywhere near our club. It was so obvious Klopp was accommodating him in our system just because of his stature in our squad. Once Phil left and Mane became a mainstay on the left wing, we saw the best of both Mane and Robbo. Do people really want that combination to be compromised for a player who does not even fit into the system Klopp deploys?

Thats not true. Couts played lw UNTIl we signed Salah and mane moved to lw. Coutinio was great as a cm, mane as a lw and salah rw.

I don't think it was coutinio leaving that made us better, although the new dinamic in midfield did really work out for us. It was the signing of vvd that made the biggest difference. Salah. Then alisson and fabhino.

In that time you have had a dabble with a curly Egyptian, a tall leggy Dutch beauty and Brazilian who is magic with her hands 😘.

We have become better defensively because we bought VanDyke, Allison, Fabinho. We still miss a creative Attacking Midfielder.
I am not for or against Coutinho.
I will support any player who pulls on the Shirt.

Hes history at Liverpool and will never return. We all know this and that's the way it should be, he showed how loyal he was to this club quite clearly, he made his bed now he can lie in it.

coutinho was a great CM for us? er no. sorry he was slow, lethargic, left space and was a liability. his best games came when he was in the front 3.

Exactly faithinworks, what's gets me more than anything is people wanting him back, I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, we're the better team without him, by far!

Firmino (for me) is our best player, many will disagree which is fine, many don't watch him close enough. If coutinho hadn't of left, we'd never of seen this Firmino and what he's really capable of.

Coutinho scored some magic goals granted but overall for this level he was and is far from good enough, I'm fedup of hearing people open to wanting him back. All I'll say is, some have short memories. Imo he's nothing but a little turd who thought the grass was greener, bugger him, he's gone, we're never going to resign him and that's that, full stop.

Whether we forgive Couts or not is kind of moot. I just don't see him getting in the team now. His work rate is worse that Shaq's.

If he was that disruptive and feigning injury, then klopp is a very forgiving man because he's hugged him on the pitch away at Barcelona after a 3-0 loss, which says to me that it was blown out of proportion.

If klopp did want him back I'd be delighted because he's a top level player who'd have a point to prove. I don't think we will go for him because we don't pay the kind of wages Barcelona do, but if by some miracle we did sign him then I take it from your stance about him Salah that you won't cheer him or his goals.

Id be open to Coutinho returning as long as it was for a real cheap price. We need players who can come on an have a go when our best six attacking midfielders are tired or injured.

Coutinho is not good enough to play in midfield. That is why He's failed at Barcelona. They wanted an Iniesta replacement and Coutinho is pretty average in that role.

He is a brilliant left forward in a front 3 and he's definitely good enough for Champions League level. The thing is, Mane is world class and as soon as Coutinho left and Mane came back into the team for him, we went from top 4 to title contenders and back to back Champions League finalists.

I don't hate Coutinho, but he's not better than Mane and he's not going to leave the bench in sunny Barcelona to come and sit on the bench in the north west of England for less money. I think we've simply outgrown a very good player, because we now have great players.

{Ed002's Note - You will be one of the Klopp out brigade.}

I'd always back Klopp Ed002. If he thinks Coutinho can play midfield I will give him every chance to prove me wrong! There is a reason he is Liverpool manager and i am not even Tiger Bread. Surely you are not suggesting there is a chance of Coutinho returning? :O.

Brilliant comparison, OP and quite funny. I agree with Salah and Faith here. Cous is history and stale news. We have moved on and become a bang awesome team without him.

I saw a poster say people take transfers way too personally. I actually agree with that so I am going to make an argument for Cou not to be anywhere near this great group of lads strictly on a footballing level.

After Cou left us, we became a much better team, defended better as a team (clearly VVD helped), scored a tonne more goals, conceded a whole lot less cos as a group we were very difficult to penetrate and if you did, AB1 was on his guard, won more PL points (almost 100), lost a lot less PL points and most importantly, dumped his Barcelona (With him in it) out of the CL with 2 of our front three not playing the return leg while 3 goals down and of course, won Ol' Big Ears for the 6th time n the process.

So judging by the facts I have posted above, Cou coming back makes NO footballing sense at all, forget about the financial part of it. People may want him back for diff. reasons (I think some people would take him back just to say LFC have signed a warm body, IMO) BUT from a footballing and financial standpoint, this makes no sense at all and I fully expect the not to happen.

There is always a scope for coutinho. Big season many games. He covers multiple positions.
